Remnant is full of Myths and Legends, but none are more well known than the Nightshade bloodline. The Nightshades were plague doctors, since the start of time, they had the ability to raise an army of skeletons to fight for them. With each passing generation, that semblance grew stronger and stronger, mutating to give extra smaller abilities such as mist teleportation. Every Nightshade Generation helped the people of Remnant, except for one. Casamir Nightshade was known as the Evil Plague Doctor and even as a rival to Salem, the Queen of Grimm. And nobody thought he could be stopped.

Julia woke up, stretching and standing from her bed. She checked her scroll and saw no messages as per usual. Julia walked up to her closet and looked around for what to wear. She settled on boots, fishnets, a skirt, a tank top and a leather jacket, all of which were black. Julia was a gothic girl, always was and always will be, only thing was that nobody payed attention to her, she had no friends and no mother either. Her father was abusive towards her but he had disappeared a month ago. Julia still loved him even though he abused her and even took to self harming to mourn him. Before leaving the house, Julia wrapped her arms in bandages to hide the cuts she had made. And finally, she grabbed her mask. It was a black metallic mask with purple hints in it, the mask covered her face from the nose below. She left her house and headed for the shopping district of Vale. She passed numerous people on the way there, each person either ignored her or gave her a weird look, as if each person kept telling her she didn't belong. Whilst none of that was true, that was Julia's usual mindset, being one of self hatred and paranoia. She arrived at a bakery, ending up buying a pretzel for breakfast. she sat down outside on the curb as she ate and watched cars drive by. Once she was done, she began to walk back towards her home, on the way, she passed by a store with TVs on the display window, displaying images of notorious criminal Roman Torchwick. Julia ignored these as she had no interest in capturing a criminal. Once she got home she noticed she got mail, which was weird considering she never got mail. She grabbed the letter and entered her house, sitting down on the couch and opening the letter to see what it said. After she had sent an admission to Beacon a month ago, she had been accepted, which was weird considering she hadn't even gotten her semblance yet and was 15 years of age. Naturally, she was extremely excited but also nervous considering she didn't know wether or not she'd get onto someone's team at all. She shrugged the thought away and immediately went to pack.

Julia sat inside the ship that would be taking her and the other new students to Beacon academy. She had tried to talk to others and try to make some new connections but others ultimately ignored her, leaving her to think that she was basically invisible to all others. She sat back down and looked out the window. Eventually, someone tripped over her legs, causing Julia to look at who had fallen. It was a girl, roughly the same age as her but slightly shorter. She had pink and brown hair with pink and brown heterochromatic eyes to match. The girl stood up and looked at Julia with an apologetic look before running off. Julia immediately looked back out the window.

Initiation had started as all the students were launched into the forest to find teammates and relics. Julia was out and about alone, holding nothing but her two butterfly knives. She was still wearing her mask and bandages to hide her self harm cuts, and since nobody bothered asking her abut it, she didn't have to go through the hassle of lying.

She kept walking through the forest, eventually however, she had bumped into someone. "S-sorry" Julia said immediately as she looked up to see the same girl who tripped over her on the airship. The girl looked at her and didn't say anything, she just stared deeply into Julia's eyes. "A-are you alright?" Julia asked. In reply, the girl nodded, and quickly gestured that she was unable to speak. "Do you know sign language by any chance?" Julia asked, to which the girl also nodded. The girl then proceeded to sign her name. {Neopolitan, or Neo for short}, Neo signed. Julia smiled, before introducing herself. "I'm Julia, nice to meet you Neo". Neo shook Julia's hand before the two stood up and dusted themselves off.

"I don't suppose you'd want to be on the same team as me, would you?" Julia asked, to which Neo nodded excitedly without any signs of hesitation or doubt. The two set off in search of the relic they needed to find, slaying whatever Grimm the came across. {So, what's your semblance?} Neo signed as they walked, hoping to break the silence. "I don't have mine yet" Julia replies sadly. Neo gives Julia a curious, confused as to what she meant by "yet", causing her to gesture Julia to elaborate. "My semblance is hereditary, meaning that I only get it at a certain age. Which is when I turn 16". This turned Neo's expression into one of fascination and awe. Eventually, they reached the relics and grabbed one of the ones that were placed there. They rushed back to the meeting place before anyone else arrived with Grimm following them.

Initiation was over, everyone was split into their separate dorms, Neo and Julia were both placed on the same team, being the only two members. Their team, was named Team June (Team JN) led by Julia. As Julia sat in her bed and looked up at the ceiling, earning a curious look from Neo. Neo suddenly decided to ask Julia about her mask and bandages. {What's with the mask and bandages?}, Julia looked at Neo and sighed "no offence, but it isn't any of your buisness". Neo pouted {Come on! You can tell me}. Julia groaned "No, don't ask again", Neo wanted to question the thing further but decided to wait a while before she did. Julia got up and began to work on the bunk bed, she grabbed a few blankets and stuck them under the mattress of the top bunk, creating a makeshift curtain for her bottom bunk. This allowed her to sleep without being seen by Neo, which also confused Neo as to why Julia was doing all of this in the first place. "I want you to promise me, that you won't ever look at me without my permission whilst I'm in my bed, alright?" Julia said. Though Neo wanted to argue against it, she nodded her head in understanding. Julia smiled and entered her bottom bunk, closing the makeshift curtains. After a few sounds of shuffling, Julia had changed behind the curtains into her Sleep garments. Shortly after, Julia extended her hand through the curtains and placed her mask on her bedside table and her normal clothes and the bandages that were on her arms on the floor next to the bedside table, before retracting her hand through the makeshift curtains. "Goodnight Neo" Julia said until she remembered Neo couldn't speak. That was when a message appeared on her scroll, which was from Neo, which said "goodnight Julia". Julia smiled and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Julia woke up and began to dress up. She wore her usual gothic get-up, being black leather boots, stockings and fishnets, a black skirt, a white tank top under her black leather jacket, her bandages to cover her self harm wounds, and finally, her mask. She exited her bed and saw Neo who wore a white cropped wide, broad tailed jacket with a pink interior, collar, a single pink button and large pink cuffs. She wore skintight brown leather pants with a dark belt that had a gray buckle and an additional narrow belt under it. Under her jacket was a brown over bust whalebone corset, curved in the middle and at the bottom, which exposed her hips. She also wore a multitude of black beaded necklaces, which hung haphazardly around her neck. Neo also wore black and white spat styled under the knee boots alongside black gloves.

The two greeted each other and headed to the cafeteria to get some food before classes began.
