4th of September - Sunday
Draco was woken by a smell of cooked breakfast, his stomach growled as he rested his hand against it.
He opened his eyes and saw that Harry's bed was empty, he sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.
Draco then travelled towards the smell in a half asleep state, as he got towards the kitchen he could see a familiar head of raven hair cooking.
The more he stopped and looked, the more utensils he saw stirring on their own, pots and pans cleaning on their own and more.
Draco watched in awe, there is a reason why Harry is the saviour. His control over his magic is impeccable, you could almost taste the static in the air.
He even noticed Harry's attire, his hair was in a messy and lazy state, he was still in his pyjamas with grey slippers on.
Harry finally noticed Draco's presence in the doorway, "Oh! Hello, I'm just making a cooked breakfast if you want any?"
Draco nodded his head at Harry and sat on one of the barstools on the island.
"I'm nearly finished now, I just got to wait for the sausages to cook and for the broccoli to simmer." Harry said.
Draco hummed and laid his head onto the counter as he waited for Harry to finish.
Harry was singing a tune while he busied himself for the last few minutes he was cooking, it was oddly domestic this year between each other compared to past years together.
Draco lifted his head as the sound of a clinking of an expensive plate was in front of him. His plate of a regular cooked dinner looked delicious as many different smells registered in his nose.
Harry sat next to Draco with his own plate of food, a little smaller in terms of portions but it still looked good.
"What brought this on" Draco asked, after he finished eating some of the mash the texture was smooth and was full of buttery flavour.
"Oh, not much. I guess I just wanted to and it's also an apology for scaring you last night." He answered a little sheepish.
Draco hummed and put another spoonful of the food into his mouth. It was full of flavour and much better than some of the veg served in the great hall.
It only took a few minutes for Draco to eat the whole plate.
When he finished he went towards the sink, "I'll clean the rest of the dishes because you cooked the food"
Harry nodded and hummed in agreement as he put his last forkfull of food into his mouth.
"I'm going to quickly go out and see the notice board just incase" Harry said as he walked towards Draco with his dishes.
"In your pyjamas?"
"Well yeah.. Who's going to be up to see me?"
Draco nodded his head and took Harry's plate.
Harry quickly went to the bedroom and put on an outer robe. He opened the front door and walked towards the board his slippers scuffing against the floor.
He looked at the board but it was all normal things like when exam seasons will start, different after school clubs that are starting up again.
Harry's lips pulled into a small smile as he walked back towards his dorm, that was until he was stopped by a few ex-slytherins that he did not know the names of.
The biggest ('and fattest' Harry secretly thought) one in the middle cracked his neck.
"Well well well, ickle Harry Potter" he said.
"Erm, yeah that's me." Harry had started to unconsciously drift into a defensive stance, ready for whatever the little trio will do.
The one on the left who looked a little like Dudley piped up "You put my father in prison you bitch!" His face was red with anger as his whole body was shaking.
"Listen I didn't put anyone in jail, I was only at a few court hearings"
"You were there in the stands while my father was given a lifetime sentence." He nearly howled.
"Right, who even is your father because I don't even know who you are" Harry frowned, his hands had a static like feeling as his patience began to break.
"Who's my- Who's my father?! My father Darren Healer"
'Ah' Harry thought, Darren was a low level Death Eater who was involved with the prophesy in year 4.
"Well that's no surprise, your father was a low level scum who was irrelevant to everyone who met him" Harry sneered, small things started to move slightly on their own around them but all four boys did not realise.
The Dudley look alike finally howled in fury as he pulled out his wand.
Harry's hands felt different, like his nails were rapidly growing. He doesn't have his wand with him.
As Healer came close to Harry, Harry lifted his hand instinctively, his palm flat towards Healer. Harry's fingers were black as his nails were grown into claw-like shapes.
Although Harry was surprised, he swiped his hand to the side and a burst of magic came hurdling out of his palm and Healer went flying into the wall next to them. Harry had tunnel vision on the other two who had not said much during the interaction sending them a nasty glare.
As soon as they looked back at him they had turned pale and scurried to help their friend.
Harry walked towards his dorm and the door slammed open on its own. He closed the door behind him and took a deep breath.
"What in Merlin's name was that?" Draco said as he walked in the hallway.
Draco then looked at Harry's hands, "what?.."
"I don't know.." Harry began as he lifted his palms, he took a good look at them.
His nails were black, elongated and looked like talons, the black colour that paints his nails travelled towards his wrists.
Draco walked over to Harry and held his hand examining it. "Were you cursed or something? I let you leave for a few minutes and you come back like this" he exclaimed.
"I wasn't cursed, I did fling Healer into a wall tho"
"Healer? Francis Healer? He's inferior, well to us anyway his name has no political power at all. Is that what the thud was?"
Harry nodded his head.
"Good he needed a shock he has too big in an ego just because his dad became a death eater" Draco said
Harry raised his eyebrows and Draco looked back at Harry's hands
"What the hell is up with your hands?"
Harry's eyes averted Draco's gaze, "I need to show you something."
They were then both in the living room with Harry's blood test on the coffee table.
"Phoenix, you're the first half phoenix? The first ever earth elemental one at that?" Draco said gobsmacked.
Harry flushed and nodded his head "I'm not ready to tell anyone so.. I guess don't say anything."
Harry's hands had lost the claws when he calmed down but the black colour was still on his fingers even if they were a little faded.
"Will you grow wings?" Draco asked.
"I think so… hold on let me show you"
Harry took off his top and the feathers have grown since last night.
The feathers have completely covered his elbow on the top part of his left arm; they are starting to travel on his back towards his right arm. The feathers have started to have a gradient of black, green and a hint of yellow.
"Oh my.." Draco started, his mouth closing slowly as he looked in awe of the feathers. "I saw that yesterday morning…" he murmured.
His hand hovered over the feathers and looked at Harry "can I?.."
Harry swallowed "uhm, yeah?"
Draco started to feel the cluster of feathers, they were soft like the baby peacocks at his house, although Harry's were much bigger than the ones they have.
"They are so soft" he told Harry
"Are they? I never really noticed"
"Yeah like baby feathers"
"I am not a baby" Harry raged jokingly
"Are you sure Potter?" Draco mused
"What else will the inheritance change?"
"I'm not sure, this whole thing is new.."
"Well.. do you want to find out?"
Harry nodded his head.
They stood up with the living room furniture pressed against the walls.
"Do you think you can move the feathers?" Asked Draco.
Harry looked at them and concentrated most of them did not move but the larger ones lifted.
"Maybe they will act like hairs? It seems like it but I haven't gone out in the cold to see.."
"So? We can bring the cold here."
Draco lifted his wand and casted a temperature spell.
Harry shivered as he was the only topless one standing, sure enough some of his feathers lifted like his hairs in reaction to the cold.
They both laughed at each other's antics.
Draco warmed the room again.
Harry moved the furniture back to their original places.
Harry slipped his shirt back on as Draco picked up his test, "you're a lord so so many houses… You are probably the most politically powerful man right now"
"I'm not sure what I'll do, I'll have to look at books about lordships and how to properly be one." Harry said as his brow furrowed in concentration.
"I could get my mother to help you? You can even ask me for some books. I might still have some." Draco questioned.
Harry hummed in appreciation, deep in thought.
'Secret library hidden behind my statue.' Rang through Harry's mind.
"I know this seems random.. but do you want to see the chamber of secrets?" Harry asked, because he knew Ron would not go because of year two and Hermione would not like to go because of the snake carcass.
"THE chamber of secrets?! You actually found that?" Draco exclaimed.
"Well yeah.. How do you think I got basilisk venom in my blood?"
"Ahhh right.." Draco replied sheepishly.
"Well? Do you want to?" Harry asked.
"Obviously I do Scarhead"
Harry grinned in return, they both went to the bathroom and took out some clothes. Harry got changed in the bathroom and Draco got changed in the bedroom.
They both met up at the front door and left.
"So where is it even?"
"You know moaning myrtle?"
"Oh who doesn't know that weirdo"
"Well.. it's hidden in her bathroom"
"Of course it is.."
They walked a little bit in the corridors.
"So why bring me anyways?"
"What's this twenty one question? I brought you because I had a feeling you would like to boast about it to your little bodyguards and well.. Ron and Hermione don't really like being near it."
"Hm.. makes sense I suppose"
They walked together in a silence that wasn't comfortable but not tense either.
"How did you learn to cook like that?"
"Well.. my family had me cook their meals for years so…"
"I don't understand why you even lived with muggles"
"Nor do I sometimes,"
They finally reached moaning Myrtle's bathroom.
Harry knocked the door and opened it
"Harry Potter!" She gushed as she flew out the toilet.
"You said you would visit me, it's taken you YEARS to finally come back" she whined.
"I'm sorry Myrtle, I promise to start coming more. Is it okay if I use the chamber?"
She crossed her arms "hmph, fine leave me like everyone else" she wailed as she dived into her toilet.
"Well that was something.."
Harry nodded his head and looked at the snake in the sink.
'Open'
"Fucking hell Potter warn a guy before you start hissing" Draco exclaimed.
There was a crunching noise as the sinks began to move slowly.
"I'm not going down that."
"Well it's either this or not go in at all."
Draco huffed, "fine."
Harry smirked "lady's first"
Draco scoffed and stood near the entrance.
"It's just straight down.. right?"
"Yes, trust me you won't get hurt. There are bones at the bottom tho so be ready to use a cleaning spell."
Draco grimaced but he sat down on the pipe and slid down.
He looked behind and saw Harry right behind him.
"Harry you idiot we are going to slam into each other at the end!" Draco screamed. He did not want Harry to crush him.
"It's okay I won't crush you or anything" Harry said as if he read Draco's thoughts
Draco nodded his head, that was until he went flying into a bunch of bones.
"Merlin- what the fuck" he stammers as he stood up.
He looked behind to see Harry already standing brushing off dust ready to go.
Harry took out his wand "reparo" he spoke powerfully.
The rocks that were in the way of the entrance flew to their old positions and merged with each other.
When Harry was finished he put his wand away and walked towards the snakes on the door.
'Open'
The snakes hissed back as the door swung to reveal the actual chamber.
"Just a warning: a dead basilisk is in here."
Draco swallowed the bile that rose to his mouth, the stench was awful and the snake was massive.
"You killed this, at what 12?"
"Yeah of course I did because that old man didn't help out at all"
Draco raised an eyebrow at that but didn't comment.
'I do permit you to use his carcass for many things like potions or to sell'
"Draco, do you know how to sell a basilisk?"
"Harry, are you… slow?"
Harry flushed "well how in Merlin's name can I sell this?"
"You can talk to Mcgonagall or pay the goblins to clean it up?"
Harry thought about it.
"Yeah okay, now let's move it."
"Wh-?"
Harry lifted his hand instinctively, he thought about the snake being curled up in the corner like it was sleeping.
The snake moved slightly.
Then the snake hovered into the air.
Draco looked at Harry, the only way he knew it was heavy to move is the strain in his shoulders.
The snake was then curled up in mid air and placed in the corner of the chamber.
Harry looked at Draco and saw how pale he looked, his jaw was loose as he stared at the snake.
Harry stared at Salazar's statue.
"Now how did he open it" he muttered to himself
Harry opened his arms and said,
'Speak to me, Slytherin, greatest of the Hogwarts Four.'
The chamber shook as Salazar's mouth opened.
"oh my Merlin.." said Draco, silently watching Harry with awe.
Harry walked towards the statue and hummed.
'How the hell do you get up there.'
Harry walked to the side of the statue and neither had any type of sta-
"Stairs!" Harry said he then hissed it.
After saying stairs in parseltounge the ground shook again as a set of stairs start to rise.
Draco walked to the side of Harry and said
"he wasn't that smart with the commands was he?"
Harry chuckled "No he wasn't, he was very plain with it for being a slytherin"
They both walked up towards the entrance in the statue, it looked like the entrance to the chamber.
That was until they walked into an old library.
The bookshelves went upwards for miles in a large circle. There was a ladder that was on hinges.
The wood was old dark wood that was complemented by silver accents, it gave a very clean and professional look. Although the campfire that cuts off the circle gives the whole place a warm look rather than a cold one.
In the middle was an office type table that had a lamp ontop of it.
"Harry Potter, how lovely it is for you to finally come here. And.. you are?"
Above the entrance was Salazar Slytherin.
"Malfoy, Draco Malfoy Lord Slytherin"
Salazar chucked "Sadly I'm not lord Slytherin anymore" he said with a glint in his eyes.
Draco looked towards Harry, then back at Salazar.
"I know? I was just being polite"
Salazar blinked in surprise and smirked at the duo.
"What book was I looking for again?" Harry asked.
A muffled banging sounded from above them, as Harry looked up he watched a book fly out of its prison and softly descend towards the table.
Another few did the same as the first. Harry walked towards the leather chair and sat in it, Draco walked over and Harry transfigured an extra quill into a chair for him.
"Harry all of this is in-"
"Parselscript" finished Salazar.
"Is it? It's weird, I instinctively know the words but didn't know where from.."
"Normally you do have to learn it from others who know it, but seeing you did have a horcrux and you have basilisk blood it might make it similar to how you know parseltongue" Salazar replied.
"Are all the books in parselscript?" Asked Draco
"Why would parselmouths need to be taught?" Harry asked at the same time.
"No, there is a mixed range of languages in this library."
Salazar then looked at Harry,
"The reason why you would have to be right is because parseltongue is not a written language, that is because snakes don't write. The origins of parseltongue in wizards is vague but most know that it originated from Naga's."
Harry hummed in acknowledgment.
"Well let's get to reading.." he muttered.
