Reality tears around me, the fabric of space bending and rippling.

Then...

Suddenly I am elsewhere.

"..."

I gaze over a small town, a frown tugging at my lips.

Well.

I'm home.

With a flick of my finger, my boundaries are modified.

My boundary of presence.

The ability of people to perceive me.

I step forwards, entering the town proper.

A frown tugs at my lips as I pass a small store.

'hm?'

It's about time Issei should be heading home.

I reappear on the bridge we normally crossed to get home... then wait... and wait... and wait.

After around thirty minutes of watching cares rarely pass underneath I cock my head to the side, a frown on my lips.

I hop off the ledge, falling into another boundary.

I appear outside my home, small gaps appearing throughout the house.

The many eyes within my boundaries allow me to see what they can.

Mother's home, quietly fixing dinner, Issei's gone, as is my father.

The latter is at work, but... where's Issei?

I have a suspicion of where he is...

I fall backwards, out of the tree I am sitting in, then land atop the branches of another, this time perched by a large and rickety old building.

'Damn it, Issei... what have you gotten yourself into while I was gone?'

He is speaking to a red-haired beauty, he...

Is a devil now.

The corners of my mouth turn downwards.

But he should be in his first year still... I didn't think he got asked out on a date until the second year...

Could...

Could he have joined the occult research club in an attempt to find me?

I cringe slightly, emotions I'm not fully prepared for springing to life in my chest as I hop down, teleporting away.

I...

I could reasonably meet him again.

But what do I say?

What should I do?!

Just walk over. 'Oh, hey bro. It's been a while. Sorry about making you and everyone else think I was dead. No biggie, right?'

A long sigh leaves my lips as I take a seat on the train, planning on traveling to Kyoto.

I step out of the train car, gazing around with a small smile.

I... have never been to Kyoto, actually.

Mainly because I wanted nothing to do with the youkai there.

Sort of ironic looking back now.

I let out a quiet yawn, wiping an eye as I walk out of the station unopposed, hopping the turnstile in a single bound.

Nobody can see me.

Yukari also gave me no spending money.

I'm arguably the strongest youkai in this world, yet I don't have a dime to my name. That's sort of sad, not going to lie.

At least I get to have super hot sex with two vampire sisters!

My life isn't that bad!

Nooow. Let's see. Where should I go first?

Food?

Food sounds nice! I'll get a pizza!

With...

The money I don't have...

Shit.

I walk through the winding streets of Kyoto, severed heads and women with cut mouths walking past.

I'm no longer hiding myself, as I adjust my kimono. I catch some eyes, sure, but youkai are eccentric, it's honestly probably this sort of aura I give off.

The standard youkai has this general 'feel' to them. Even someone like I who has never trained in Senjutsu can tell this much- mainly because my eyes are cheaty- but in comparison... I feel heavier.

My energy is more densely packed.

I can feel eyes on me, trying to be sneaky, but the bounds of my perception extend beyond suppressed auras, or mere sight, smell, and hearing.

I turn my head, staring exactly where one of my supposed followers is hiding.

I allow my eyes to linger, the corners of my mouth turning upwards.

I roll my eyes and continue walking, taking in the sights.

This place is quite peaceful.

Heh...

Heheheh.

My vision swims and suddenly I am stood behind a man with a crow's head. He is crouched atop a building watching a brown haired teen in a kimono wander in the distance.

He's quite far away, all things considered.

"Who are we spying on?" I question suddenly.

The man whirls around, spear in hand.

It stabs through my torso, causing my smile to grow. "My. How rude."

The spear is torn from the man's hands, the spearhead poking through my back, and the handle itself disappearing into my chest wound as it seems to condense inwards.

My wound mends the second it is gone.

I hold my hand up, my palm bulging slightly.

The entire spear sprouts from my hand in a shower of gore, gore that vanishes the second the tengu flinches back and closes his eyes.

I hold out the spear towards him for him to take. "I believe this is yours."

He hops back, wings flapping slightly. "Who- Who are you?!"

"Suzutsu Hyoudou at your service. I am here to meet Yasaka the nine tailed fox on orders of the boundary youkai, Yukari Yakumo."

"W-Who?"

"Oh, you wouldn't have heard of her. She resides primarily in a pocket dimension roughly the size of Hokkaido that she personally created and maintains." I state. "The thing that should matter to you is that she isquite powerful."

I sit in a room, eyes closed, a small smile on my face, a cup of tea in my hands.

There are quite a few youkai around the room, watching me, observing me. Studying each and every one of my movements.

I take a quiet sip of tea, not really focused on the room at all.

Kyoto is... beautiful, honestly.

I... admittedly haven't looked around the towns in Gensokyo, honestly, so I can't compare, but it's different than Kuoh, that's for sure.

Bustling, with frog men walking to and fro. Bakeries, who are staffed by floating heads.

Its... weird...

The doors in front of me creak open.

A woman with long flowing blonde hair slowly walks forwards, kimono barely clinging to her chest as it bounces with each step.

Nine fluffy fox tail swish and sway behind her as she walks.

I take another sip of tea.

"I hope you did not wait very long." She carefully speaks. "My meeting ran a little long."

Incorrect.

She was finished with her meeting around twenty minutes ago. She was just carefully deciding how to deal with me.

"No. It is no issue." I reply, my eyes slowly sliding open. My purple eyes locking with her gold. "I was merely admiring your city. It is the first time I have been in such a populated location. It's a little suffocating, admittedly."

"You... were admiring Kyoto?" The woman hums as she takes a seat on the opposite side of this long table we find ourselves at. "I had thought you fell asleep."

"A youkai such as myself has other ways to see." I admit, a small smile appearing on my lips.

Her eyes seem to skim over me.

"You are... quite poor at hiding your nature." The woman observes. "You gave my men quite a scare... tell me, why shouldn't I throw a violent youkai powered by fear such as yourself out?"

"Hm? Violent?" I question. "What have I done that gives off that impression?" I frown, eyebrow raised.

"You allowed yourself to be stabbed merely to inflict as much terror as possible to my subordinates."

"Hm?" I hum. "Oh. No, you misunderstand. That was just a little prank."

"You would suffer the pain of Impalement for a simple prank?" She asks.

"Oh. I don't really... feel... that. You see, I'm dating two vampires who are unable to control their strength. My sense of pain was sort of being inconvenient after I had my ribs shattered with a hug, so I simply turned it off."

"isn't this dangerous?" She asks.

"I don't know what it is like around here, but where I'm from, even the weakest of shadow youkai can recover from having their limbs severed from their body in a matter of hours. A spear through my heart is not enough to kill me nor most other youkai from Gensokyo."

"..." the look on her face is schooled, but sheer shock radiates throughout her entire body. I can see it. A deep unease. A sharpened caution and some... curiosity.

"I deeply apologize if I have come across as rude... I've only been a Youkai for around six months, after all... and Yukari hasn't gotten around to teaching me anything beyond the basics."

"You- you have only been a youkai for six months?" The woman repeats. "That is- you are claiming that you were once human?"

"Indeed." I reply. "I don't exactly know how a lot of these... youkai politics work. But. Yukari has sent me to give you a letter, so I shall."

The world tears as a rift in reality forms beside my, a few dozen eyes peer through the gap, pupils swaying at swishing around the room before locking onto the nine tailed fox.

I reach inside and pull out a sealed letter.

Then drop it.

Another rip forms, causing the letter to carefully drift down in front of the woman.

Her eyes narrow slightly at the portals as they quickly zip closed.

"An... interesting... ability." She notes.

"Unsettling, is it not?" I smile, giving her a half-lidded stare, at her pause I continue. "You may be able to see my emotions with senjutsu, but yours are lain bare before my eyes as well."

"How old are you?" The woman mutters suddenly.

"Fifteen... or sixteen? I sort of lost track of time. What day is today?"

"It is April twenty eight two thousand and eight."

"Ah. Sixteen, then." I note.

"To be so powerful at that age... in just six months?" She echoes.

"Boundary Youkai are an entire breed of their own." I admit.

"Boundary Youkai? This is... the first I have heard of your kind."

"Understandable." I reply. "There was only ever one until six months ago."

The woman seems to skim the letter.

"And that one was this... Yukari Yakumo... if she is like you, I feel as if I should have heard of her before... yet, she has an entire pocket dimension?"

"She does." I nod once.

She lets out a single huff of amusement as she reads something in the letter.

"Tell me, what is this Gensokyo, like?"

"I haven't walked around that much, but from what I can gather... literally all of the most important and powerful youkai or people that reside there... aside from myself... are female."

"All?"

"Ninty nine point nine percent." I nod once.

She closes her eyes, seemingly pondering for a moment. "Very well. I agree to a meeting."

"..."

I look around slowly.

"Hm. This is normally where she would appear... did she really decide to take a nap?" I question.

"..."

"Very well, drastic measures, then... GAP HAG- Grrgkh" my head is suddenly tilted at ninety degrees.

"How rude, Suzutsu... to call your Onee-chan such a hurtful thing." a woman yawns as she slowly appears through a large rift in reality behind me. "You know that I am only seventeen."

I flop to the ground, twitching slightly.

My neck un-snaps. "Rude? Rude?! You broke my neck!"

"And?" She questions. "Youkai are quite durable. Even the weakest could recover from that in an hour or two."

Yasaka's eyes widen, tails poofing up, her hands seem to shake slightly as she doesn't even bother hiding her unsettled expression.

Yukari turns her attention to the woman, causing her to slightly flinch and a small smile to appear on Yukari's lips. "Greetings, I am Yukari Yakumo, the boundary youkai, first sage of Gensokyo."

"And you," she turns to me. "Child... perhaps you should run along while the adults are talking."

I hold out a hand.

"Give me pocket money." I demand.

"..."

A diamond the size of my fist thuds into my hand.

"..."

"..."

"What the actual fuck am I supposed to do with THIS?! Pawn it?! Fucking- whatever, I don't care anymore."

I stand up, hand grasping the gemstone, then I hop once, a rift in reality appearing under my feet.

"So? How did it go?" I question, knees brought up to my chest as I sit on Yukari's Tatami flooring.

"We have come to an understanding." She admits.

"About?"

"Our situation." She replies, once more not answering anything in the slightest.

"..."

"..."

"I will be opening a gate into Kyoto, through which, our people will mingle and the belief of that world shall nourish our own."

"Okay? And what did they get out of this?" I ask.

"Access to dozens of youkai far surpassing their strongest." She answers.

"Oh. And Yasaka desired to bear the child of a boundary youkai... that is something you should get on in the next decade or so."

"..."

A long sigh leaves my lips as I rub my temples. "I'm going back to the Scarlet Devil Mansion."

I stand and walk away, a rift appearing in front of me.

I reappear outside of the gate, the redhead's eyes snapping open at my appearance. "You?!"

"Hello. I'm back." I smile. "Please let me inside."

Her eyes narrow slightly. "Who said that you were allowed to be here?"

"I am courting Remilia, so... I'd imagine her being the one to say I'm allowed to be here." I smirk. "I guess she was too exhausted after our night of passion to tell you. Oh well."

Meiling's face turns blood red. She lets out quiet sputters of surprise. "Y-You- Wh-"

With a single leap I clear the gate and walk deeper into the mansion and offering the guardian a lazy wave. "Goodbye~"

I make my way into the mansion itself.

Everything freezes.

Ah.

Right.

I turned that back on after I left Gensokyo.

"..."

Now I just need to-

I blink as a white haired maid appears in front of me.

"You." She frowns. "Remilia was displeased that you left so early this morning."

"I was beginning to think that you were one of those men who would use and toss aside women... in which case, I would have hunted you down and killed you." She blandly states as if she were describing the weather.

"I apologize. I had to do something for Yukari. But. I did return with some gifts." I explain.

"Gifts?" The time stopping maid echoes.

"From the outside world... primarily books." I answer.

"Ah. That should placate my lady... but the young miss is another matter entirely."

"I brought some outside world snacks as well." I admit.

"I see. Very well. They are in the garden... I will take you there right away."

She walks forwards as everything seems to freeze.

She places her arms under my own, picking me up like some sort of cat.

"I can walk myself."

"O-Oh? You are moving within my stopped time yet again."

A large rip opens in front of me, that I step through. "Believe me. I had to turn this ability off because of how much you use stopped t-"

"..."

The woman slowly walks through the boundary standing next to me.

She waves her hand in front of my face, seemingly watching my eyes move.

I abruptly fall forwards, but time is still stopped.

"What the hell?" I question.

"Oh. I allowed you to move in my stopped time."

"You... can do that?"

"Of course." The woman smiles. "If I couldn't, wouldn't everything I move in stopped time be torn apart whenever I so much as nudge it?"

"The main issue I face is that the mind isn't freed from the stopped time. Merely the movement of the body... and, of course, gravity is mostly negated in this frozen world..."

"You... have a hard job." I mutter. "But quite the convenient power, I will fully admit."

"Hmph." The woman huffs, crossing her arms. "Is the boundary youkai really one to comment on the powers of convenience?"

"I suppose not." I shake my head, gazing over to Remilia and Flandre sat nearby, the elder sibling in the middle of taking a sip of her tea, the other, amidst stuffing a large pastry into her fanged mouth.

A small smile crosses my face.

"That expression. You do care for them, don't you?" Sakuya observes.

"I do..." I nod once. "It... may be a bit too early to call it 'love'. But... I have no doubt that is where it will lead."

My eyes slide to the white haired maid. "Though, I am curious... what do you do for fun... why do you serve Remilia? What is your story?"

"Ah... well..." The woman mutters.

"Isn't it awkward to carry around people who are naked?"

There's a slight tinge of red to her face. Something that's frankly a little strange. I never thought that she would be one to get flustered so easily.

Actually... It may be a habit of Sakuya to stop time amid conversation in order to think of comebacks or to calm her emotions.

There's no telling what she does around us once time has stopped. She might be a bundle of energy and dances around amidst stopped time, burning off that excess energy and peppiness before dropping a simple 'Yes, my lady.'

There's really no telling.

That... may be the cause of the general discomfort I have always felt around her.

"I-I've... gotten used to it." Sakuya admits after a long moment, gazing over the garden around us.

"And of my other questions?" I question.

"Well... I like to sew." She admits. "Sometimes I paint and read."

"Ah. So the books I have brought from the outside world will likely entertain you for a while as well. That's nice." I smile. "You work so hard... and If I can make your day even just a little brighter, I suppose that just makes my gifts even more worth it."

A scarlet blush crosses the woman's face.

"I-I... yes... Thank you... might... Might I make a bit of a bold request?"

"Sure. I don't mind." I reply.

"My lady and the young miss have been locked in this place for so long... on one of your trips to the outside world... could you take them with you?"

"That was always the plan, Sakuya." I smile. "Though... admittedly, we probably won't be able to go most places as they don't strike me as the types to hide their wings and my world is very firm in hiding anything out of the ordinary from normal humans, but there's quite a few supernatural locations we can visit... I've heard there's even two large factions of vampires as well. Though, I've also heard that they're a total joke to the supernatural world at large."

"Hm... well, that is all I wanted to ask... I shall be resuming time in three... two..."

Everything stutters into motion.

I notice that she never answered why she served Remilia.

I'm not entitled to an answer I suppose.

Remilia blinks twice, eyes widening as she looks over to me.

"Suzutsu!" She beams, her mood instantly improving.

Flandre turns, licking some frosting that had gotten on her hand with her long monstrous tongue.

A fanged smirk appears on her lips.

"Hello." I greet as I walk over to the table, a rip in reality forming as I take a seat upon it. "Sorry about disappearing this morning. Yukari made me deliver a letter to a leader of the youkai in the outside world... I had to set up a meeting for the lazy woman and everything."

"Oooh! Oooh! You went to the outside world?! Did you bring us back anything?" Flandre questions.

I shove my arm into a gap that appears beside me and pull out a bag of pastries.

"Here. I got you some Donut holes..." A large box is pulled out next. "and some donuts."

Then a fast food bag. "And a double bacon cheeseburger with chicken nuggets and fries. It's better warm, so eat that first."

The bag is almost torn open by the girl who shoves a fistful of fries into her mouth. "Yummy!"

My eyes slowly stray to Remilia. "As for you... here. I got you some books for your collection. Plus there's something special I've got that I'll set up in a room around here."

Her eyes skim the title of the book in her hand, the corners of her mouth turning upwards.

"Hm. Very interesting."

"I also got you something you'd hate." I smirk viciously.

She blinks twice as I hold out another book.

"..."

"Twi...light? Why would I hate this book?"

"It has quite a poor depiction of vampires." I answer.

"Ah. Well. I see." The girl frowns, looking over the book. "Well, I suppose I shall still read it. It is quite hard to find new things in Gensokyo."

"Speaking on that... how would you two like to take a trip to the outside world one of these days?"

Remilia pauses, perking up slightly.

"Oh? I-"

"Really?!" Flandre gasps, Rocketing forwards. She lands in my lap, facing me, a bright grin on her face. "You'll really take us to the outside world?!"

The corners of Remilia's mouth turn upwards. "I had wished to ask you if you would be so kind, but I did not know how to broach the topic in a manner that didn't sound as if I was taking advantage of you."

"Remilia... there are benefits to courting a boundary youkai." I answer. "But, even if there wasn't Yukari is in the process of hashing out a deal with the youkai of the outside world that should allow you to freely- or, at the very least more easily- leave Gensokyo."

"O-Oh?" She blinks. "I see. Yes. That sounds fun."

"There are large factions of vampires on the outside." I admit.

"Oh?" She seems deeply interested. "Back home, Myself and Flandre were the only ones."

"Mhm!" the blonde nods in my lap as she turns around, returning to eating.

"From what I have heard, there are two factions. The Carmilla faction and the Tepes faction... and they appear to be in a civil war."

"Hm... I have the blood of the noble Tepes in my veins, I hope you know." Remilia brags, puffing out her chest. "So... shouldn't it be within my rights to tip things in a certain group's favor?"

"They wouldn't respect you." I blandly hum, causing the woman to blink owlishly.

"Wh- th- They wouldn't respect a noble vampire... a direct descendant of the mighty Dracul Tepes? A vampire who has conquered the sun? A vampire who manipulates fate to her whims? They would truly not respect that?"

"Well... you're a woman. So no." I deadpan.

'...'

"Pardon? I don't believe I quite caught that." The girl whispers sounding genuinely caught off guard, but there's an underlying hint of rage in her voice.

"The Tepes clan are Patriarchal while the Carmilla faction is matriarchal. The Tepes faction wouldn't respect you as a leader as you are a woman. They, at most, would fear you because of your strength and allow you to proclaim you are the leader while silently conspiring and plotting to kill or remove you. Probably use you as breeding stock."

Her eyebrow twitches. "And the Carmilla clan?"

"Oh, they'd more than likely follow you into hell and back." I agree instantly. "But I also find their 'women over men' approach just as stupid as the Tepes 'men over women'. Leadership positions should be decided by strength, intellect, or capability. Not gender. "

"Hmph. On that we can agree. Sakuya. Put unifying those bickering children on the docket for when we return to the human realm."

"Yes, my lady." The white haired woman bows slightly.

"Hm..." The girl hums, seeming to think deeply. "Suzutsu, are there any other goals that we could set our sights on?"

I cock my head to the side. "Well... to be fair, I know very little about the supernatural scope of things. I only picked up a little information on vampires because I thought you'd appriciate it."

"Ah. So we are going in blind." The girl smiles. "Good. I'd like a few surprises. That'll make things a little more interesting-"

"Hey! Suzutsu!" Flandre smiles. "Let's have sex!"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"okay." I shrug.

Well, here we are. Suzutsu has made his first real 'supernatural debut' and has seriously unsettled Yasaka! Soon... the youkai shall reign supreme!
But first? A certain vampire needs to be satisfied.
