Shadow and Maria were a big help in the village and while Maria is nice enough shadow on the other hand had some "quirks"
for example every so often he'd vanish for little while before coming back with banana bread with the occasional batch of cookies every so often
so Lincoln decided to talk to him about it the next time shadow came back with banana bread
"so shadow where do you get the banana bread?" Lincoln asked
"a hedgehog named Amy rose gives it to me in exchange for scaring off wild animals from her garden." Shadow said
that was something Lincoln was not expecting at all
meanwhile while shadow was scaring off animals from someone's garden in exchange for baked goods Maria had opened her own little book shop with the help of vanilla
the village was growing at a rapid rate and while the threat of the raiders still existed they weren't as feared as they once were
but Lincoln felt like something was missing he needed to see more of this world
so he decided to take a run throughout the forest
and unlike his human body not only was he fast but he also never got tired
he was going so fast! nothing could stop him!
*WHAM*
expect for an object moving just as fast
Lincoln looked and saw a blue hedgehog with a brown scarf around his neck with sports tape on his hands and shins
"first I get banished for losing a race and now I hit something." The hedgehog said before muttering "granted I was the who accepted the challenge."
the hedgehog looked up and saw Lincoln and immediately went into a defensive position
Lincoln's data base had one thing to say
Sonic the hedgehog: the fastest thing alive
threat level: High.
proceed with caution
"woah I guess egghead had something waiting for me! bring it on!" Sonic said "ill turn you to scrap!"
however, Lincoln put his hand up
"what was that part about you being banished?" Lincoln asked
"I didn't know eggman's death machines could talk. Plus why do you care?" Sonic asked before throwing a fast punch
however Lincoln parried it
"huh?" The hedgehog said clearly not used to having a equal in speed "let's try again!"
the hedgehog kept throwing punch after punch but Lincoln either parried it or dodged it
eventually the hedgehog got tired of dealing with Lincoln and charged up a spin dash
but the moment he released it Lincoln caught him by the neck not choking him just holding him there
"oh this is gonna hurt." The hedgehog said expecting a punch
however Lincoln did not punch him, instead he asked:
"are you homeless?"
"wait what?" The hedgehog asked
"I asked if you're homeless." Lincoln said "with that whole banishment thing."
"I mean technically my house is outside the village but I doubt they'll leave it standing." Sonic said
"I mean I could build you a house in the village I live in." Lincoln said
"you live in a village?" Sonic asked
"yes. I'm one of the heroes there." Lincoln said
"let me guess the others are a robot fox, another robot hedgehog, a robot echidna, and a robot badger
"try a organic hedgehog, and a organic fox." Lincoln said setting sonic down "follow me."
sonic reluctantly followed him before eventually reaching a village
Sonic then proceeded to have almost seven heart attacks in the span of five seconds
He saw shadow the fucking hedgehog having a tea party with a rabbit and a two tailed fox (who look kinda like tails)
"Shadow!?" Sonic asked
shadow noticed sonic and glared at him
"one word about this and you're dead meat." Shadow said
"shadow I didn't know you liked tea parties." Sonic teased "maybe you and Amy can have one sometime."
"bold of you to assume we don't already." Shadow said
"WHAT?!" Sonic yelled "if lay a hand on her or any of my friends I'll-"
"I sense a lot of tension between you two. Did you two date and break up?" Lincoln asked
shadow and sonic looked a him in both disgust and anger
"GAIA NO!!!" Both yelled
"now now shadow that's enough." Maria said exiting her shop
"shadow who is this you're girlfriend?" Sonic teased
shadow grabbed the closest garbage bin and vomited in it
"I'll take that as a no." Sonic said genuinely caught off guard
"I'm his sister, Maria robotnik." Maria said
"don't ever say such a thing again." Shadow said
"in my defence you're a hedgehog and she's a cat the possibility of you two being siblings never crossed my mind." Sonic said "wait robotnik?"
"yup granddaughter to Gerald robotnik." Maria said
"does that mean egghead is adopted?" Sonic mumbled
"egghead?" Maria asked
"sorry that's just something I call him." Sonic said "I think his first name iven or ivon. All I know is his last name is robotnik."
"you know my cousin ivo!?" Maria asked "please take me to him."
"I would but I'm currently banished in the village." Sonic said "plus he's a bad egg."
shadow face palmed
"come on it was funny." Sonic said
"I can take you there." Lincoln said
"buddy let me tell you the villagers there are not too bright they'll probably mistake you for me." Sonic said
"does anyone have a cloak?" Lincoln asked
later
Lincoln with his white tattered cloak ran through the forest with Maria on his back
"are you sure you want this?" Lincoln asked
"yes I have to see my cousin even if it has been 50 years." Maria said
soon they reached the village gate where two guards were
"sorry sonic i can't let you by." The guard said
Lincoln looked behind the guard and saw a bunch of the same guy building a statue
"get out of our way before I freeze you solid." Maria threatened her hand glowing blue
"yes ma'am." The guards said letting by
they heard someone monologuing
"with sonic gone no one can stop me!" The moustached man said
Lincoln's data base had this to say
dr. Ivo robotnik aka "the eggman" aka "the smartest man in the world"
"IVO ROBOTNIK!!!!!" Maria yelled eyes glowing blue
"Who dares-" dr.eggman said before turning to face maria "Maria!? Why are you a cat!?"
"you recognize her boss?" Orbot asked
"of course she's my cousin. our grandfather had that dress custom made and the voice is the same." Dr. Eggman said "she must've somehow been brought back to life!"
"WHAT IN OUR GRANDFATHER'S NAME ARE YOU DOING!?!" Maria yelled as it began to snow
"what does it look like I'm doing I'm trying to turn this place into a theme park so I can charge people insane amounts of money." Dr. Eggman said
"WELL HERE'S WHAT I THINK OF THAT!" Maria yelled before freezing the statue solid and shattering it
"swifty's stop her! Without hurting her." Dr. Robotnik said despite wanting to stop his cousin he didn't want to hurt her
then Lincoln tore two of them apart in an instant
"Sonic!? I thought you were-" dr.eggman said before getting a closer look "wait you're not-"
dr.eggman didn't get to finish as Lincoln tore the rest apart in an instant before locking eyes with eggman
"I think it's time to retreat!" Dr. Eggman said before fleeing
everyone cheered
"way to go sonic!" A pink hedgehog said
"you did it!" A two tailed fox said
"hold it!" The mayor said "sonic is still banished so we still need to do the proper procedures before he can come back as it says on this paper."
he pulled out a piece a paper
Lincoln ran over and grabbed it before ripping it in two
"oh." The mayor said
"I think our work here is done." Maria said "could you take me back home."
Lincoln nodded before lifting her up and taking her back
"I wonder who's that cat?" The pink hedgehog asked
the badger that was with them had different thoughts though
(that wasn't sonic. That was a robot! Something fishy is going on here and I'm gonna get to the bottom of it!) sticks thought to herself (and weird voice get out of my head!)
oh god not another fourth wall breaker
with Lincoln
"I'm surprised you kept your cool." Maria said
"trust me it was taking every bit of my mental strength to not kill him." Lincoln said "sorry about your cousin."
"maybe now he'll think twice before doing something like that." Maria said
when they got there they saw the phantom ruby in control of Lily's body using their power to build sonic a house
"hey! Sonic we got you unbanished!" Lincoln said as he approached
"really!?" Sonic asked
"yeah it took all of my restraint to not beat him to death but just the simple ripping of paper was all it took." Lincoln said "and if anyone asks it was you who did it."
"why?" Sonic asked
"because I rather stay the protector of my village not yours." Lincoln said
"that's very humble of you metal sonic." Sonic said
"please call me Lincoln if you don't mind." Lincoln said
"that's kinda lame." Sonic said
"coming from the guy named after a fast food restaurant." Lincoln said
sonic was confused by that part
"what about the house?" Sonic asked
"think of it as your home away from home chaotic one." The phantom ruby said
"do they always call you that?" Lincoln asked
"honestly I thought a demon possessed her." Sonic said "anyway thanks for the help!"
he handed Lincoln a phone
"just so we can keep in contact." Sonic said
Lincoln's mechanical body absorbed the phone and gave him a little communication device on his wrist
"that works too." Sonic said "well then. later!"
and with that sonic left
meanwhile
"doctor, what do you mean the cloaked hedgehog wasn't sonic?" Orbot asked
"I saw it in his eyes. They weren't organic, they were screens." Dr. Eggman said "for now we should see if sonic was replaced or if it this is something else entirely."
"and if it is something else?" Orbot asked
"we get it on our side." Dr. Eggman said before laughing
"there he goes." Cubot said
