Viridian Pokemon center
"Oh...it's you, Ketchum." The person on the screen said as they picked up the video call. He's on the computer like video call phone in the Pokemon center. With the journey is progressed this far, he felt like informing that to professor Oak. After all, this trainer stuff is so new to him. Being a bounty hunter and being a trainer is totally different things. One of them gets him paid while the other makes him...strong? What's the meaning of being a trainer, anyway? He got little to no one to ask that except for professor Oak.
"You don't sound enthusiastic at all, princess. Weren't you worried about me?" He said with a fake hurt look on his face.
"You know that I would have hoped for you to not make it, if it wasn't for Pikachu. Your face just ruined my day already." Daisy said looking uninterested.
Ash chuckled. "I'll take that into consideration, princess. The next time I call you, the first thing you'll see my boner. Which already proved how it can make your day better." He said and saw her face turn red.
"On second thought, I'll just show you now." He said standing.
"Huh?"
"For your ruined day." He said was about to drop his pants.
"HEY, STOP. STOP, OKAY. I'VE GOT THE POINT. SO STOP." Daisy yelled at him, making him laugh.
"Man, messing with you is fun." Ash sitting back down and saw her face is more red than before.
"Fuck you, Ketchum." She swears at him with spite.
"You already have. Maybe soon we'll fuck again. Who knows?" He said.
"S..stop saying that out loud, you bastard. Grandpa's gonna hear you." She tried to shush him.
"Who cares. Just go with your feelings and let your clothes fly in the air. And second of all, it's not like the old man is unaware of anything." He said teasingly.
"W...what's wrong with you, Ketchum?" She said trying to hide her embarrassment.
He just shrugged and playfully smiled. "I mean that old man can smell sex. If he's not a virgin, I'm sure he knows it. Why bother hiding if it's not worth hiding?" He said.
Her eyes widened and her mouth was open wide. "S...so he knows?"
"Yes. And at some point I also might have gave it away. Don't remember, don't care." He said not even sounding ashamed.
"You're just too much. Who on their right mind would confess to the grandfather that they're fucking his granddaughter?" She said irritated.
"I mean, if he has any common sense then he'll figure things out anyway. I'm not the one who goes and sits next to him after having sex. On top of all he's a professor. And he's a failure if he can't tell the obvious pheromone science when his granddaughter reeks of semen." He said it in his normal voice as if it's normal.
Her eyes twitched and figured out that yelling at him is pointless and decided to change the subject. "Whatever. At least you speak normal for once." She said.
"Is that so?" He said.
"Sure. No longer your words doesn't make sense. No mysterious cliche or anything. Just speaking like a normal human." She said.
He shrugged. "I'm sure I speak like a human all the time. Maybe you're just too much of a fossilised pussy to understand human language. A wild guess." He said insulting her again.
She groaned and sighed. "I don't wanna keep joking around you, Ketchum. Just say why did you call me?" She asked getting into business.
"Who called you? I was calling professor. Your face literally gave me a jumbscare on top of all that." He said.
She clenches her fist and glared at him with pure malice. "It's good to know something scares you, bastard." She said walking away.
Almost immediately professor Oak appeared on the screen. "Hey, Ash. What a pleasant surprise. Didn't expect you to call." Oak said.
"I've been talking to her for five whole minutes. In which planet that you find it a surprise? Please next time pick up the call yourself. It's your lab." Ash said.
"Sure. Then, why call me?" Professor Oak asked.
"I forgot."
"Think about it, you'll get there." Oak said and Ash remembered the whole point of calling him.
"Oh, I called to inform you that I registered for the league few minutes ago." Ash replied.
"Wow, what a wonderful news, Ash. I'm glad you're taking it seriously even though it was all rushed." Professor Oak said.
"Sure. Whatever you say. I just wasn't in a hurry. But whatever." Ash said.
Oak smiled seeing his careless attitude. "But it'll eventually benefit you." Oak said.
"How?" Ash voiced out the question.
"That Masterball..." Professor Oak started as he pointed at the Masterball necklace. "...that Masterball is strange. It is closed shut with it own energy and no physical thing cannot open it. But knowing your abilities, you can open it if you fight gym leaders. Because gym leaders are strong. My hunch is that the more you fight the more you become strong enough to open it. After all your energy is somewhat similar to the readings I picked up from the Masterball itself.." professor Oak said.
"Wow, that's convenient." Ash said.
"Not that convenient. We don't know how much it'll take to open the Masterball. Even though the solution is clear, you gotta work harder." Professor explained.
"In the end I'm stuck with it, huh?" He said.
"That's because there's not any other worthy candidates. But even Gary doesn't have what you have, Ash. Maybe you're the only remaining one who'll be able to open it eventually. After all almost everyone tried. Last one to have that Masterball was professor Ivy. She failed. So do I. Now it's your turn." Professor Oak said.
"Professor Ivy, you say?" Ash asked.
"Yes. You've met her before?" Oak wondered.
"I wanted to. Never had the chance." Ash replied
"If so you can meet her in person. She probably have more information about the Masterball than I do. Last time she was in cerulean city. I'm sure she's still there since she's on vacation for this whole year." Professor Oak said.
"I'll visit her when I get there. And according to the map, I'm headed to pewter city. Never stayed there for more than a day before. The place is so boring." Ash said.
"Let's not badmouth a city like that."
"I mean there's only rocks. What's so interesting about rocks?" Ash said.
"I'm pretty sure you barely even explored the city. Because I'm pretty sure that the city isn't entirely made of rocks."
"Who cares. I'm hanging up. Bye." He said and hung up the phone.
With that he walks towards the counter where nurse Joy sat. He immediately noticed the redness of her face she saw him.
He smirked as he stops in front of her and she smiled awkwardly.
"Y..you should definitely learn to say your secrets more secretly, Ash." She commented obviously hearing everything he said.
"It wasn't a secret. You wouldn't have heard anything if I'm trying to keep things a secret." Ash said and looks at her with an evil smirk.
"I really feel so down this morning. Give me a kiss and cheer me up a little." He said leaning on the counter.
Nurse Joy blushed and shook her head. "N..no, someone will see us." She said.
"So?"
"Don't say that. Please be more shameful when saying things like that aloud, okay?" She tried to reason.
"I'm shameful. Which is why I'm not asking you to undress and bend over. So, a kiss is all I need for now." He said.
Nurse Joy gulped nervously and looks around and because of it being early in the morning no one was around.
Seeing her hesitation he tried to bait her. "It's taking so long. How about I jump over this counter instead? If that happens you know that I won't stop with a kiss, right?"
She nodded and slowly moved closer. "P..pervert." she mumbled and leaned and both their lips clashed with one another.
Almost immediately Ash's tongue entered her mouth and her eyes widened. She tried to break the kiss but he hugged a bit closer. Eventually he breaks the kiss and before she back away he successfully managed to smack her butt earning a surprised yelp.
"Man, I miss spanking you." He said winking at her and she blushed hard.
"S..stop, I'm on duty. We'll have time for it later." She said and he smirked.
"Sure. I'm looking forward to it." He said.
"You're always are, Ash." Joy said.
"Always will. But I think I'm leaving the city today. You might have to be ready for my next visit." He said putting a fake pouty face.
"Please don't take too much time away. Because you do me things depending how long you took to visit." She said nervously. But she's excited deep down.
He smirked. "Understood, milady." He said.
"Good luck, Ash. Please be safe. I don't want you in near death situation ever again. There won't be times when you're lucky anymore." She said.
"And I want you to make sure that Chansey gets caught by another group of thugs. And definitely make sure to call me and I'll rescue her for a discount. Have her completely and near impossible to find out by Jenny." He said walking away.
"I..it wasn't intentional, okay. And you should be scolding me for my carelessness." She said.
Ash chuckled and didn't even look at her. "I promote my business. Can't get the warm money if I don't have the job. So please be more careless next time." He said and then looks at her. "And there's two girls in the room I rented. Tell them I left and have them drink some coffee. Their coffee expenses are on me." He said exiting the building, leaving nurse Joy stunned behind the counter.
"Only the coffee expenses." That's the plan last thing she heard before the door closed behind him.
Ash walked on the main path that leads towards the border of Viridian city. He stopped near a flower garden and whistles at Pikachu who sat amongst the colorful flowers overlooking the pond occupied by many water Pokemon.
"Don't fall and drown, Pikachu. We gotta at least make it to pewter city." Ash teased earning an annoyed glare from Pikachu.
Ash chuckled as Pikachu walked closer. "And please let me know before you going on a walk. I almost forgot about you." He said and Pikachu narrowed his eyes furiously. "I know I was making them scream all night, but I thought you got used to it." Ash defended himself.
Pikachu didn't give in making Ash sigh. "Next time I'll be more considerate." He said walking away. "You're sleeping outside." Ash mumbled.
"Pika?"
"Nope. I didn't say a word. Definitely nothing against you." Ash said. Pikachu sighed. Ash didn't change a damn bit.
Ash picked out his phone from his hoodie pocket and searched through some details about gyms. "As expected, Viridian city gym is currently closed. It's been closed for a bit and which makes us want to push forward to some rock based city called pewter." Ash said more to himself and Pikachu listened climbs up Ash's shoulder to hear him better.
"Ever since all the miners extracted those rare stones, the place become nothing more than a city of art based on rocks. It's not even expensive. Useless place. Which brings us to the gym. Rock type gym leader and worst of all, we don't even have the type advantage against them." Ash said putting his phone back.
"Pokemon battles are strategic than I thought. It was just fun to watch them back then." Ash said.
Pikachu looks at Ash and for some reason he didn't have that amused look in him.
"Chu?" Pikachu said gently patting Ash's he hair.
Ash nods. "It's nothing. But how about we go there and show a middle finger to type advantage?" Ash said. "We'll bring down the whole damn place if we have to." He said firing up.
"Pikachuuu." Pikachu agreed.
However before they enter the jungle of route 02, Pikachu spotted something up in the Air. "Pika." Pikachu said pointing at the thing.
Ash looks up and saw something which he doesn't see often. "A blimp?" He said seeing the flying thing. But it had a boat like structure under the blimp like part and some strange looking wings on top. "No, that's an airship. Definitely not a blimp." Ash said.
"That won't land anywhere near by the height it's flying. But I'm sure there's some cargo in there." Ash said and sighed. "But it's pointless to follow it." He said they watched as the airship leave their line of sight.
"Well, that's that." He said moving forward.
(FEW HOURS LATER)
Route 02
The heavy rain once again delayed his journey. If it wasn't for this little cave Pikachu found, they would've not be in a good spot. The jungle wasn't overrun by bug type Pokemon due to the downpour. Watching those Pokemon tournaments on tv when he was young, bug type Pokemon fascinated him. They have some disadvantage against other Pokemon, but they're cool and strong. His childhood was like this rain. Unsettling yet calming. Raging yet soothing. He knows that how a life works. But the exception was he didn't know how make sense of anything. His childhood is barely blurry memory. Only thing he choose to remember is that camp he attended as a kid. So much happened. He grew to like Pokemon there, as well as people started to be afraid of him at the same time. Bad memories. That's the only thing strong enough to keep up in his mind even to this day.
"You're helpful." Ash said running Pikachu' back as the yellow rodent laid on his lap.
"Pi." Pikachu agreed.
"For once." Ash added. Pikachu crackled his cheeks saying he could zap him. Ash chuckled.
"Hey, no need for violence, okay." Ash said in defence.
Then there's a silence. They almost slept. The cold atmosphere prevents them from doing so. There's not even a bonfire to lit up the place or provide warmth. It's just cold dark small cave and that's that. The only form of warmth is both of their body heat. Better than staying out in the rain.
However they heard fast footsteps approaching the cave. By the loop of the sound he figured it wasn't a Pokemon. It was somebody.
He didn't have the time to prepare and the person already entered the cave. The gloomy light didn't make it impossible to see the person and the said person almost immediately yelped seeing him there. She almost fell backwards shocked to see him unexpectedly.
Ash stared at the female and he was also taken aback by her sudden appearance. "You." She said pointing at him. "Why are you here?"
Ash blinked twice and looks around the cave and then outside of the cave. Eventually he looks at her. "I'm in a cave, and sheltering myself from the rain? Ain't that obvious?" He said the obvious.
She rolled her eyes and just stood there a bit away from him. She was safe from the rain, but she somehow ran into the only person she didn't want interact with after he caused her some emotional damage.
Pikachu also sat up looking at her curiously. "Pikachu?" Pikachu said looking at Misty.
Misty looks at the small rodent and she find him cute. But Misty looks outside again. The silence was too much Ash saw how much she's drenched and trembling.
"You need to get out of those clothes. I heard the flu this year is terrible." Ash said.
Misty's cheeks reddened a bit but she looks at him frustrated. "Mind your own business, bounty hunter." She said straightforward.
Ash shrugged. "I was minding my own business until I'm seeing a huge butt on my line of sight. Pretty but shaking." He said causing her mouth to open wide.
"Y..you don't know how to control your mouth, do you? Like, at least keep your dirty thoughts in your mind for a start." Misty said still shaking like a leaf.
"Sure. But let me tell you. Everyone here is gonna get the benifit if you get out of those wet clothes. Trust me, it always been like that." Ash said not even trying to hide his boldness.
"I mean, I got a spare hoodie with me and it's warm." Ash said opening his backpack.
Misty narrowed her eyes dangerously and looks him right in the eyes. "Don't try to fool me. You're a bounty hunter. You do things for money. If you want more money, then you can keep that hoodie for yourself." She said.
"What do you mean? I don't need money." He said.
"I don't believe that. You'll ask me for something else valuable." She accused.
"Nope." He assured.
"Then what's you're after, if it's not money." She wondered.
"Sometimes I appreciate the view more than money. I'm sure it's gonna be worth it." He said with a thumbs up.
Misty gritted her teeth and some veins popped up on her forehead. But she sighed. At least she got some ideas. "I think I prefer that hoodie after all. Here, give it to me." She said. Ash just tossed it at her. Then she turned around and put the hoodie in her back which acted like a veil between her body and his view. With the hoodie reaching all the way under her butt, he couldn't see anything as she removed her shorts, tank top and shoes. Then almost immediately put on the hoodie. She smirked at him and said. "Thanks for the hoodie." She sounded so cocky and she's sure he didn't see her naked. She still have her undergarments though.
Ash chuckled. "thanks to you too." He said pointing at the puddle down her feet and it was clearly reflecting her body. He saw everything by just staring at the puddle. Her entire face turned red.
"Oh, I wish to obliterate you with my Gyarados. I definitely won't hesitate next time." She said threateningly.
Ash chuckled again but she saw darkness in his eyes and she felt intimidated by his unusual show of amusement. "You're supposed to say 'thank you'. And please don't threaten me. Because I always hated those who does that. But you're an exception. I can't keep myself stay angry on a lovely girl like you." He said that in wasy that sounded more deadly.
She gulped loudly and turned her focus on wringing her soaked top and shorts.
Almost half hour later, they're still stuck in the cave. They sat on each farther side of the cave and the silence was deafening.
"So, cerulean City gym leader, huh?" Ash tried to start a conversation.
She looks at him annoyed. "Why are we having this conversation build up, again?" She asked.
"Bored, I guess. It's better than hearing each other breathing." He said.
"I wouldn't mind talking to anyone except you. Somehow you always get on my nerves." She said.
He shrugged. "So, let's switch things up a bit. I'll start with a question and you answer. Vice versa." He said.
"Not interested." She said.
"Why are you around? I thought you gone back to cerulean and gave my message to Lily." Ash asked pretending to not hear her previous line.
"There's a lot that happening to me. It doesn't bother you." She said.
"Apparently, team rocket is some obsessive bunch. They're interested in your Gyarados already." Ash said and she looks at him surprised.
"You're familiar with team rocket?" She asked.
"I'm a bounty hunter. I might have ran some errands for them. It didn't pay well so I intentionally botched the job. No money no job, according to my own law." He said.
She just looks at him and then again he's interesting. No matter how much she tries to deny, something about this bounty hunter was captivating.
She sighed. "I'm the fourth gym leader after my sisters. I'm the most accomplished one of them. Didn't change the fact that I'm stuck with taking care of a whole river of Pokemon, though." She said and looks at him. "And what happened between you and Lily. Even though she's a bit annoying, you're a bounty hunter. I don't want her in any sort of trouble." Misty questioned.
Ash chuckled. "That's between Lily and me. It's not something you should be concerned. I won't harm her." He said.
Misty then looks at him for moment. "What?" He asked amused.
"I didn't know that you're capable of talking like a decent guy. Last time I saw you, I wanted to punch a hole through your face." She said truthfully and he laughed out loud. She's surprised to hear him laugh. This time he wasn't intimidating. He's just laughing from his heart.
Eventually he stopped and looks at her with a smile. But fir some reason he appeared more serious even though he had a smile on his face. "Sometimes it's better to be different. It's just a helpful life lesson." He said.
"Huh?" She asked confused.
But she saw him look into the rainy outside, as if he's trying focus on something out there.
"What ha-" she got cut off when Ash motioned her to stay silent by placing his finger on his lips.
Ash then stood up moved closer. "Hold Pikachu for me." He said still looking outside.
She blinked confused took a sleeping Pikachu in her hands. "What's wrong?" She asked.
"I'll be right back." He said and ran outside the cave and she saw him disappear behind some bushes.
