A/N : This is it. The final Fairytail fight for victory. I honnestly tried testing myself on this on, I'll catch you at the end for a small debrief.
Enjoy !
The following days passed in a blur of victories and anticipation. Laxus had single-handedly taken down the entire Raven Tail team, leading to their disqualification for cheating. Now, Fairy Tail had to merge both teams into one ultimate lineup for the final showdown.
"Give it up for the ultimate Fairy Tail team!" the commentator's voice echoed through the arena. "Erza Scarlet! Gray Fullbuster! Juvia Lockser! Gajeel Redfox! And Haru Inazumi!"
The final day had arrived. This was the one-for-all match. We needed to defeat as many opponents as possible to rack up points and finish first. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd's excitement buzzing like live wires.
Luckily, Mavis, the founder of Fairy Tail and a master strategist, had devised a flawless plan. She gathered us in a huddle, her eyes gleaming with confidence.
"Stick to the plan, trust each other, and remember what we're fighting for," Mavis instructed, her voice calm but intense. "This is your moment."
As we took our positions, I felt a surge of determination. The stakes were higher than ever, but I knew we had what it took. The bond we shared as a guild was our greatest strength. This was our chance to prove that Fairy Tail was the strongest guild, not just in power, but in spirit.
"Fairy Tail still hasn't moved!" the announcer's voice carried curiosity and suspense."
Our entire team stood motionless, eyes closed, waiting for the precise moment Mavis had instructed us to act. The tension in the air was thick, each of us attuned to the silent countdown in our minds.
When the moment finally came, Erza's eyes snapped open. "It's time, everyone, get in position!" she commanded.
"Yes!" we answered in unison, our voices strong and synchronized.
Following the plan, I dashed forward. As expected, every other member found their planned opponent. Gajeel confronted Rogue, Erza squared off against Kagura, and Gray and Juvia faced Leon and Sherria. I was supposed to find the Blue Pegasus leader, Ichiya, but my meeting point was at the opposite corner of the city, letting all the others engage before me.
However, as I maneuvered through the chaos, my face paled when I came across a figure who struck fear into my heart.
It was none other than Jura Neekis, the formidable Wizard Saint. My breath caught in my throat, and for a moment, the plan seemed to blur. I steadied myself, remembering Mavis's words and the strength of my guild behind me.
This was not part of the plan, but I had no choice. I had to face him.
"JURA?" yelled Mavis, her voice filled with shock. "This wasn't part of the plan!" she cried, her usually calm demeanor shattered.
Everyone around her watched with wide eyes.
"Wait a minute, you mean... he's not supposed to be facing Jura?" asked Wendy and Mira in unison, their voices trembling with concern.
"This is not good. Not after his fight against Kagura..." mumbled Makarov, his fist clenched tightly.
I stood straight, facing Jura, my heart pounding in my chest.
"Hey, I wasn't expecting you to come up," Jura said, his voice calm and composed.
I remained silent, my eyes locked on his.
"So, I'm guessing you'll be my opponent today, Phoenix Slayer."
"I'm no Phoenix Slayer today. I'm just a man against another man. And the most powerful one will claim victory," I replied, my voice steady and resolute.
"I love those eyes, Haru. Let's do this," said Jura, taking a fighting stance.
However, just before we could engage, the announcer's voice boomed through the arena once more, capturing everyone's attention.
"THIS IS INCREDIBLE! Fairy Tail has won all their matches! Only Haru remains against Jura! And looking at the scores... if Haru wins, Fairy Tail will be our new champions!" His words echoed across the stadium, igniting a frenzy of excitement among the crowd.
"Great. Now he has even more pressure," Makarov gritted, his concern palpable.
"Come on, Haru," Mira prayed softly, her voice a whispered plea amidst the roar of the crowd.
The weight of the moment settled heavily on my shoulders. The fate of Fairy Tail's victory rested on this final battle. But I couldn't afford to let the pressure overwhelm me. I squared my shoulders, steeling my resolve. Victory was within reach, and I couldn't falter now.
I glanced up at the scoreboard, seeing Fairy Tail and Sabertooth tied for first place. Realization hit me: I didn't need to win, I just needed to not lose. A tie would give us both one point, enough for Fairy Tail to claim victory. Checking the clock, I saw that only 30 minutes remained. If I could hold out and avoid defeat, the championship would be ours.
I breathed out.
Finally, I engaged my fight. At the same moment, all the Fairy Tail members of my team were laying on the ground, exhausted from their matches. However, they all thought those words at the same time, echoing through the city: "Go, Haru!"
I zapped forward, trying to catch Jura by surprise. But, as expected, Jura was the monster I heard about, and he was able to follow me. With ease, he blew me away in a single attack, sending me crashing into a building.
As I struggled to my feet amidst the rubble, the cheers of the crowd faded into a distant hum. Pain coursed through my body, but I refused to give up. Not now. Not when victory was within our grasp. "Mavis, one hit and I'm already struggling" I muttered
With gritted teeth, I pushed myself to stand tall once more, locking eyes with Jura. His expression remained impassive, a silent challenge to continue our battle.
On the Fairy Tail balcony, everyone was yelling, screaming, and crying. They knew my chances of winning were... well, nearly zero. But they all believed in me. I couldn't let them down. Not twice.
I got up. "And Haru is still up, ladies and gentlemen!" beamed the announcer, his voice carrying across the arena.
I zapped forward once more, desperation fueling every movement as I sought to finally land a hit on that monstrous opponent. But try as I might, I couldn't find an opening. Again and again, my attacks were met with swift counters from Jura, leaving the crowd bewildered.
After 10 long minutes of relentless struggle, I was out of breath, my body weary and bruised. Not a single blow had landed on Jura.
"I love that determination, kid, but I'm sorry this has to end," he said calmly, his tone almost sympathetic, before bringing his hands together.
"Finally" I thought to myself, bracing for whatever was to come.
"Mount Fuji!" he bellowed, unleashing an overwhelming surge of energy that engulfed me entirely. The impact was staggering, reverberating throughout the entire city with a force that left the ground trembling.
Mira covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes wide with shock. Wendy, unable to contain her emotions, cried into her skirt, the weight of our defeat heavy upon us all.
"Is... Is this it?" said the announcer, his voice filled with anticipation as he waited for the dust cloud to dissipate.
But when the battleground finally reappeared, Jura stood tall, unwavering, while I was nowhere to be seen.
"Up there!" yelled Macao, his finger pointing towards the sky.
I used Jura's powerful attack to summon my wings. They where not on point yet, but were enough to make me dodge his spell, gathering some time.
I checked the clock and saw that only 20 minutes remained. If I could hold out and avoid defeat, the championship would be ours. I finally landed, thinking about my next move.
I zapped forward, lightning crackling at my fingertips. "Roaring Thunder, Kirin!" I shouted, summoning a bolt of lightning. Jura easily deflected it with a sweep of his arm, the lightning dissipating harmlessly into the ground.
I needed to switch tactics. Drawing on Aelion's wind magic, I conjured a Whispering Tempest. Spinning on one foot, I gathered the wind before releasing it in a swirling vortex. Jura braced himself, his eyes narrowing as the howling winds rushed toward him. He countered with an earth spell, solidifying the ground around him and anchoring himself against the tempest.
"You're tenacious, I'll give you that," Jura said, his voice barely audible over the roar of the wind.
Not letting up, I transitioned to a series of quick, agile movements, using my speed abilities to dodge Jura's relentless strikes. I darted left and right, my body a blur of motion as I evaded his attacks. Jura's fists crashed into the ground, creating craters with each missed blow.
"Thunderous Wrath, Kirin!" I crouched low, placing one hand on the ground, then quickly raised it. A web of lightning spread out from my hand, crawling across the ground before converging on Jura. He stomped the ground, causing a wave of stone to rise up and block the lightning.
Jura launched a series of rapid attacks, each one pushing me further back. I zapped away, barely dodging his blows, my body aching from the effort. He swung a massive stone fist at me, and I barely managed to dodge, feeling the force of the wind as it rushed past my face.
Drawing on my reserves, I summoned combination spell. "Electro Cyclone, Storm Phoenix!" Spinning in place, I extended my arms, gathering both wind and lightning. Multiple cyclones filled with streaks of lightning formed around me, each one aimed at Jura.
The cyclones rushed toward him, creating a devastating whirlwind of electricity and wind. Jura stood his ground, summoning a massive earth barrier to shield himself. The impact was colossal, the clash of elements creating a blinding flash and a deafening roar.
I watched as the barrier crumbled under the sustained attack. Jura emerged, slightly battered but still standing strong. "Impressive, Haru," he acknowledged, his voice steady. "But can you keep this up?"
"I have to," I replied, summoning another surge of wind magic. "Tornado Barrage, Aelion!" Placing both hands on the ground, I summoned a series of small tornadoes that erupted from beneath Jura. They converged, creating a spiraling barrage aimed at overwhelming him.
Jura countered with a spell of his own, "Rock Fortress!" Massive stone walls rose from the ground, blocking the tornadoes. The impact caused the walls to crack and splinter, but they held firm.
Jura launched another offensive, sending a barrage of stone spikes hurtling towards me. I zapped away, evading most but not all; a few grazed me, drawing blood.
Using my last reserves of strength, I summoned a final combination spell. "Storm Bringer, Storm Phoenix!" Thrusting both hands forward, I focused my energy into a single point. A concentrated blast of wind and lightning shot forward, creating a spiraling beam of destructive energy.
Jura's eyes slightly widened, before meeting my attack with his own, "Ultimate Rock Barrier!" A massive barrier of stone materialized around him, just in time to absorb the full brunt of my attack.
The impact was so powerful that even I was pushed back, the force of the collision reverberating through the air like a thunderclap. Everyone had to hold tight onto something, bracing themselves against the powerful shockwave that rippled through the battlefield.
"Not bad, kid. Not bad," I heard, my eyes widening in disbelief as I turned to face Jura. Despite the immense force of my attack, he stood tall, with barely a scratch to be seen.
"It... It can't be," I stammered, my voice trembling with shock and disbelief.
"I wasn't expecting to use my full barrier, to be honest," Jura admitted, his tone almost jovial as he approached me. "It's been a long time since I've had a fight like that, and for that, a sincere thank you, kid!" he exclaimed, his admiration evident in his voice.
I was paralyzed with astonishment. A spell I worked on for weeks, even months, I considered as my strongest spell, had done absolutely nothing to him. He truly was a monster, a force to be reckoned with. I was washed. I had nothing left. My body was completely out of magic, once again. But I refused to succumb to despair. Not now. Not when Fairy Tail was counting on me.
Gritting my teeth, I arched forward, summoning every ounce of my power. In a last desperate hope, I roared to the sky, channeling an extraordinary amount of magic through my body. Jura's eyes widened in surprise as he watched me, his expression betraying a hint of uncertainty.
The minutes ticked by, each second feeling like an eternity. Jura's relentless assault continued, but I managed to dodge and counter, keeping him at bay. I could feel the strain on my body, but I had to endure.
As the clock neared the final moments, I felt a surge of hope. We were so close. I just needed to hold on a little longer. Jura's final attack came with incredible force, but I summoned every ounce of strength I had left, meeting his strike head-on.
"C'mon Haru, one last spell!" I pushed myself.
"Thunderstrike Wave, Kirin!" I spread my arms wide, gathering electricity before thrusting them forward. A wide, sweeping wave of lightning surged towards Jura. He met it with his own powerful earth spell, creating a massive explosion that rocked the arena.
The impact was monumental, the shockwave rippling through the arena. As the dust settled, we both remained standing, breathing heavily but unbroken. And finally, the clock hit zero.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's a tie! Both contestants remain standing, they win 1 point each…, which means Fairy Tail is the champion of the Grand Magic Games!" the announcer declared, and the crowd erupted into deafening cheers.
But for me, it was dead silence. Time had stopped, I could even think straight. However, I managed to smile, and raise my fist to the sky.
On the balcony, tears flowed freely as Fairy Tail members embraced each other in a flood of emotion. Even Makarov, the venerable master, was not immune to the tide of tears. Mira and Wendy clung to each other, their sobs mingling in the air as they celebrated our triumph.
From a distance, Erza, Gray, and the others looked to the sky with pride and admiration, their smiles speaking volumes.
"I knew you were something else, Haru," Gray said, his voice filled with quiet admiration as he closed his eyes in a moment of silent reflection.
"And next time," I thought to myself, "I would win."
Those where my last thoughts, before collapsing to the ground, as if all the energy had been drained from my body in that final burst of effort.
A/N : I KNOW, I KNOW. I changed the rules, I gave one point to Haru even tho on the last day matches don't have a time limit. I considered that as a general event time limit. And the third and fourth day are completely rushed. But I wasn't feeling confident enough to make them. I'd prefer skipping than making meh content. And I KNOW, Haru lost against Kagura, and didn't seem strong enough to even hold against Jura. But he did, showing new spells and stuff. As I said, I really tried testing me on making a longer fight, knowing that all the others were kinda short until now.
Please, let me know what you think. I'm aware a few things don't make sense in this chapter, but to be honest, it was the one I took the most pleasure writing.
Until then, see ya !
