A/N : Time for the weekend update ! It's getting a bit harder getting this story to make sense, as I'm realizing I really pushed my trial and error to it's limit :D Doing my best though, I hope you like this one !
Enjoy !
It was still early when I woke up, feeling like I'd been thrown for a cliff. Every inch of me ached, and the marks on my arms felt like they were on fire. "Again? Seriously... This is getting ridiculous," I muttered. As I tried getting up I noticed someone next to me. Turning my head I saw Mira sleeping beside me. I couldn't resist a soft smile as I gently brushed her long white hair before quietly getting up.
The guild hall was nearly empty. "Guess I have to wait for Gramps. He wanted to talk to me," I groaned, plopping down at the bar, smaller than the one I was used to.
Levy was the first to approach. "Haru! How are you feeling? Did you get any sleep?" she asked, her face full of concern.
"Kinda. I just hate I couldn't sleep on my roof like usual. This bunker sucks, and the bar isn't the same" I replied, frowning a bit.
"At least you haven't lost your morning happiness..." Levy replied, a bit exasperated. "We're waiting for the master. We'll all meet up when he gets here. We've got a bunch to discuss."
"Alright, see you in a bit," I said, waving her off.
After she left, my eyes fell on the marks on my arms again.
About half an hour later, Makarov strolled into the Fairy Tail bunker. "Haru, let's not waste any more time," he said, beckoning for me to follow.
"Yeah, coming," I replied, hauling myself up.
We reached a door at the back of our small, temporary guild hall. He gestured for me to enter. Inside, Levy was already seated, looking serious. As I sat down, their intense, focused expressions hit me.
"Uh, is something wrong?" I asked, feeling the confusion rising.
"Haru, I'm cutting to the chase. 24 hours ago, you were dead. And I mean dead—your heart had stopped beating," Makarov stated, his voice grave.
My eyes widened, and words failed me. Levy chimed in, "But your marks, they were glowing blue, faintly pulsating like a heartbeat."
"I... What?" I finally stammered. "I didn't have a heartbeat, but my marks did?"
"That's right," Makarov continued. "And it seems those marks aren't just magical patterns. They aren't mere symbols that just light up when you use magic. This is just a hypothesis, but it's possible those marks of yours are, in fact, your parents," he said, joining his hands together.
I was stunned. My parents, Aelion and Kirin, had disappeared when I was just a kid. This was unbelievable.
"Gramps... That's impossible. Plus, I saw that flashback of them fighting Zeref. I've already talked about that. Why would they choose to stay in my arms?" I asked, baffled.
"I know," Makarov grumbled. "But I feel all this might be connected."
For the next hour, they laid it all out. From finding me in front of the guild, the pulsations, the reactions to Levy's questions, and the strange blue lines that crawled around me before giving my heartbeat back.
I was sweating, trying to process it all. "They... reacted when you talked to them? And they saved my life, just like that? My parents... could really be in there?" I asked, my mind racing.
"We can't confirm anything yet, Haru. This is still just a hypothesis, but given what's happened, it's a plausible one. The problem is, you're the only one who can truly understand your marks. We can't feel them the way you do," Makarov concluded.
This was a lot to take in. I simply stood up and left the room with a blank expression.
Back in the bunker, most of the guild had finally arrived, making the place buzz with life. But I headed straight for the main door, not in the mood for small talk. Mira, who had just woken up, greeted me, "Hey Haru, what's u—" she was cut off as I rushed past, not daring to stop.
As she turned to me, surprised, she glanced back at the door I had just come from. Her eyes landed on Makarov and Levy, as she was connecting the dots.
I was sitting on the fresh grass, at one of the highest points in Magnolia, staring blankly at the sky. My fingers unconsciously traced the patterns of the mark on my left arm.
"So you answer Levy, but not me?" I muttered, gazing down at my arms. "Are you really them?"
Again, no reaction whatsoever.
"I don't get it. If Gramps is right, why would you react to Levy but ignore me? That should be enough to invalidate his hypothesis... But I just want to believe him. I want you guys to be with me," I added in a low voice.
I lay down, closing my eyes, trying to shake off the idea of my parents being with me.
The breeze gently rustled the leaves around me, bringing a temporary sense of calm. The scent of the grass and the distant sounds of the bustling town below mixed into a soothing lullaby. But my mind refused to quiet down.
"Maybe... just maybe... I'm doing something wrong," I whispered to the sky. "But what?"
For a few minutes, I let the silence wash over me, hoping for some sign, some clue. The sun was finally setting on the city before me, and the breeze was getting colder by the minute. "Huh, winter's not far I guess" I said finally getting my self up.
But as I did, I was shaken by strong dizziness. "Wha-" I blurted, before using one of my hands to steady myself against a tree. I was wet to the bone, sweating every drop of water I had inside my body, as I panted to catch my breath. However, I remained focus. "Come on, give me something... anything."
I dropped down, resting my back on the tree, legs spread out. "Show me something!" I yelled, before feeling my marks burn again, and my vision blurred completely.
"This place again..." I muttered, looking around. The dark surroundings weren't unfamiliar. I was standing in the exact same spot I was before waking up yesterday. This was also where I'd heard that strange voice. Remembering that, I didn't hesitate.
"Is someone here?" I called out, my voice echoing through the darkness.
No answer. Not a single sound came back to me.
"Great, now what..." I groaned. I tried to move, turning my head, but as I expected, I couldn't. I was frozen in place, only my eyes and mouth usable. This time, I wasn't scared. I didn't feel oppressed like I did yesterday, desperate to escape.
As I looked around within my narrow viewing angle, I noticed it. Blending with the darkness, a small white dot was slowly glowing in the distance.
"Is someone here?" I asked again, this time focusing my vision on that white dot. Again, nothing, but I felt my surroundings shift slightly before returning to normal.
"If someone is here, do you know who I am?" I asked, my voice more confident.
"Haru..." I heard, my eyes widening. The voice was so faint it could barely be considered a whisper.
"Yes, that's me! Who are you?" I yelled.
"Be... patient..."
Those were the last words I heard, like a small gust of wind brushing past my ears, before I finally opened my eyes again, back to the tree I was leaning against.
I took a deep breath, the cold air filling my lungs as I tried to process what had just happened. My marks had stopped burning, but the sensation lingered.
I gazed at the sky. "That... Felt so familiar I can't even believe it" I mumbled.
"Still not back?" Gray asked, sipping his beer.
Mira shook her head, her expression worried, before getting back to cleaning a few plates.
Sora, who hadn't been up when I left, added, "Haru is really worrying me lately. With everything that happened yesterday and today..."
"I mean, put yourself in his shoes for a minute," Gray groaned. "He just found out he narrowly escaped death, and now he learns his parents might be... in his arms." He shook his head, still struggling to process it all. "If I were him, I'd be completely lost."
"Gray is right," added Carla, sitting next to Sora. "That's quite the information to process."
"I just hope he'll be fine," Lucy said, resting her head on Natsu's shoulder on a couch behind them.
"He'll be just fine," Mira exclaimed confidently, still facing away from them as she continued cleaning. Her voice held a firm conviction that surprised most of them. "We're talking about Haru here. He'll figure it out, and if he needs us, we'll be there for him."
Natsu nodded, grinning and wrapping an arm around Lucy. "Mira's right. Haru's tough. He always finds a way."
Gray sighed, taking another sip of his beer. "I just wish I could do something, ya know?"
"You are helping," Mira said, turning around to face them. "More than you think. I know him well enough to say this: he really needs you. Maybe not actions, but your presence. Just being here, supporting him, means more to him than you realize."
They all smiled, before hearing the bunker's door creak open.
They all smiled, a sense of camaraderie settling over them, before hearing the bunker's door creak open.
"What's up, losers!" I yelled, entering the bunker. I rushed over to Gray, who was sitting at the bar, and took a sip of his beer. "Aaaah." I looked over at Gray. "Not even mad, Snowflake? No fun," I pouted, handing his beer back.
Gray just laughed, smacking his hand against my back. "Nah, not today, Haru, not today."
I feigned a surprised expression before shaking it off. "So, tomorrow's the day? Gonna rebuild this bad boy of a guild hall?" I grinned.
Mira turned her gaze toward me, a pink blush appearing on her cheeks. "Yes, dear, tomorrow is the day. You can take a day off, though, considering what you went through."
I slammed my hands on the counter. "No way, I'm all fired up!"
"Hey, that's my line!" yelled Natsu, prompting everyone to erupt in laughter.
The bunker was once again filled with happiness, something it had lacked since the guild hall's destruction.
"Guess I'm gonna sleep in a bed, AGAIN," I pouted, earning a playful slap on the head from Mira.
"Just say you're not happy sleeping with me!" she scolded.
"Ow! That's not it," I replied, defending myself.
Gray chuckled. "You really are an idiot, sparky. Nobody around here would even think of complaining about sleeping with Mira."
"But that wasn't my point..." I deadpanned. "Where's Wen, by the way?" I asked, as Sora came flying toward me.
"Wendy just left with Carla; they'll be back soon," Sora answered happily.
I grinned, patting her head. "Good to hear. It's been a while since I've seen that little powerhouse."
Makarov made his entrance, drawing all eyes to him. "Children, tomorrow will be the start of the guild's renovation," he announced, earning a round of cheers.
At that moment, Wendy appeared, her eyes lighting up as she saw us. She rushed over, hugging me and jumping onto my knees as I stroked her blue hair.
Makarov continued, his voice strong and reassuring, "Don't forget, this is only material. A guild house can be rebuilt an infinite number of times. If we stay together, Fairy Tail will never fall!" His voice beamed through the bunker, sparking another round of cheers and glass clinking.
Wendy looked up at me with a smile.
"How's my little ball of energy doing" I asked, ruffling her hair
"Just fine !" she beemed.
The night went on, before we finally took some deserved rest.
The next morning, I blinked at the tiny bed we had shared. "Wait a sec. We really slept in that?" I asked, pointing to the bed.
Mira chuckled, "In your state, you could have slept on the ground, Haru. You were sleeping before even touching the blanket"
"Yeah, but I mean... Two people in that bed is kinda... small?" I asked genuinely.
Mira stepped closer, wearing nothing more than a large T-shirt, tracing her finger from my bare chest down to my stomach. "Are you unhappy we're sleeping close to each other?" she teased, leaving me there with my face burning.
I swallowed, trying to regain my composure. "N-no, not at all. Just... surprised, that's all."
Mira laughed softly, her eyes twinkling. "Good. Because I wouldn't have it any other way."
I rubbed the back of my neck, still feeling the warmth in my cheeks. "Yeah, me neither," I admitted, smiling sheepishly.
The sun was beaming down on all of us, casting a warm glow over the bustling activity. The air was filled with the sounds of hammers, saws, and the occasional burst of laughter. The spirit of Fairy Tail was alive and thriving.
Gray and Natsu were at it again, bickering loudly as they tried to outdo each other. "You call that straight, flame brain? My grandma could build a straighter wall!" Gray taunted.
Natsu shot back, "Oh yeah, ice block? At least I'm not afraid to break a sweat!"
Their argument earned them a deserved punch from Erza, who stood between them, her eyes blazing. "Enough, you two! If you have that much energy, put it to good use!"
Everyone chuckled at the familiar sight. Erza's stern discipline never failed to keep the peace. Nearby, Lucy and Levy were working together, carefully measuring and cutting wooden beams. Lucy wiped the sweat from her forehead and smiled at Levy. "We're really making progress, huh?"
Levy nodded, her eyes bright with enthusiasm. "Absolutely!"
Mira was directing a group of guild members, her calm and reassuring presence keeping everyone focused. She spotted me and waved. "Haru, can you help with the heavy lifting over here?"
"On it!" I replied, jogging over to assist. Together, we moved large beams and secured them into place.
Wendy and Carla were busy painting, adding a fresh coat of color to the newly erected walls. Wendy's laughter was infectious as she playfully dabbed a bit of paint on Carla's nose. "Oops!"
Carla huffed but couldn't hide her smile. "Just you wait, Wendy."
Happy and Sora were fluttering around, delivering tools and supplies to various groups. Their cheerful banter added to the lively atmosphere. "Here you go, Lucy! A fresh set of nails!" Sora chirped.
"Thanks, dear!" Lucy replied, her smile widening.
Even Master Makarov was in the thick of it, his small stature not deterring him from lending a hand. He looked around at his guild with pride.
As the day went on, the structure of our new guild hall began to take shape, everyone wiping the sweat from their brows. The foundation was solid, the walls were rising higher, and the roof beams were being set in place. The sense of accomplishment and teamwork was palpable.
"It's... bigger?" I asked, surprised, as I looked at the expansive structure.
"Yes, Haru. Master wanted to use this opportunity to make the guild hall a little bigger," smiled Erza, showing us the plans.
"We're gonna have a pool?" I yelled, my eyes glowing with excitement at the thought.
"Yes! Juvia loves the pool! She will see Gray-sama swimming," Juvia added, her eyes full of admiration and dreamy anticipation.
But for once, Gray didn't say anything; he only chuckled, a rare moment of silent agreement.
After a whole week of hard work, Fairy Tail was once again standing tall in the outskirts of Magnolia. The new guild hall was even more magnificent than before, a true testament to our resilience and unity.
I finally took a seat in my usual spot at the bar. "Mavis, this feels great," I grinned, fist-bumping Natsu next to me.
"Sure does!" he answered with a wide smile, his enthusiasm infectious.
Not far from there, Makarov was talking with Mira, their expressions serious yet hopeful.
"It may be time, don't you think?" Mira asked, her eyes reflecting determination.
Nodding, Master approved, "Yes, I think it's time we start putting it on the table."
And just like that, Fairy Tail was back to life. Many questions remained unanswered, and many mysteries unsolved, but everyone continued smiling and living their lives to the fullest.
A/N : Okay ! Little more informations about Haru's parents. Let me know your thoughts about this, or even if you have any ideas of what could possibly happen ;)
Doing my best to keep up the update rate
Until then, see ya !
