Chateauroux. The crew along with the Phryges have successfully made it to Chateauroux. The crew needed to take another rest since they need more energy to reach Paris, so they settled down in Saint Chartier. They rested near the Chateau de Saint Chartier was said to be the place where Napoleon rested after his crushing defeat at the Battle of Waterloo. The Phryges even wandered their way into Nohant-Vic, causing the heroes in our crew to search for them. During the rest, the Phryges even flipped pancakes which they do best and impressed our heroes with their skills. Gaulois was reading George Sand's novel 'Les Maitres Sonneurs', even Etno and Spirou were interested in that book too. Rayman and Miguel then sang and played music during the campfire at night, which made our heroes clap and cheer for them before heading off to sleep.

The next day, they feel recharged and ready to go. The crew carried the Olympic Flame and were ready to visit the area of Chateauroux. They first explored La Chatre, giving them a feeling as if they were transported back to the medieval ages in France.

At the Chateau de Valencay, our crew strolled through until they spotted an inspector with robotic devices and arms investigating. He was wearing a grey trenchcoat and a fedora, with his robotic devices analyzing the situation.

"Bonjour, monsieur!" greeted Gaulois. "Do you need any help or something?"

"Pleasure to meet you. The name is Inspector Gadget to be precise. I am fully robotic with a private eye professionalism and a strong sense of justice!" replied the robotic inspector.

"Enchante, Inspector Gadget, what brings you here? Were there any villains committing misdeeds again?" Gaulois asked.

"There is something I would like to tell you about. The Museum of Hotel Bertrand is reportedly haunted, with several claims saying that the ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte was roaming around and scaring off people who dared to go near his private collections, as told by the manager himself. The most notable sightings are the messages were written in red which was the horrifying colour of blood, which has prompted them to think the ghost has presence here." Inspector Gadget went on.

"Sounds like another mystery for us to solve!" Gaulois proclaimed. "Come on everyone, we have to solve that mystery so we could be unmasking any villains that lurk in the shadows!"

They crew entered the Bertrand Museum Hotel. It had a statue of Henri-Gatien Bertrand standing gallantly, eyeing any visitors with its watchful glare. The crew entered the entire building and started the investigation with Inspector Gadget. Miguel, Madeline, Spirou, Dogmatix, Asterix and Rayman went off in a separate direction to investigate while the rest explored the other part of the building. When they were investigating, Miguel found a clue which was scary, and it caught their attention.

"Over here!" exclaimed Miguel. "There is a message in red!"

The others went over to investigate. The message was in red, with creepy messages and words written in French, telling them to stay out or be cursed.

"It doesn't look like real blood after all, it's just red paint! What kind of ghost does those pranks in order to scare others away? Could it be another supernatural case of vandalism?" Rayman added.

Just then, a haunting figure appeared behind them. It was the ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte hat Inspector Gadget mentioned and he gave a fearsome glare.

"AAAARRRGHHH!" cried Rayman. The group were notified by this and were totally horrified. A chase then ensues. The ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte was pursuing our crew along the hallways of the premises, with them running through doors which was similar to a scenario in a Scooby Doo cartoon. Antics ensued when the ghost chased the crew with the Phryges distracting it, catching its attention to chase the crew.

Meanwhile, the Marsupilami was busy investigating until it heard the terrified screams. It just knew what to do. The Marsupilami then used its long prehensile tail, with perfect timing that let the heroes run past through first then readying to trip over the ghost. The ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte tripped over the Marsupilami's tail, causing the ghost to tumble and crash into the collection.

"Way to go buddy!" praised Spirou. "Now we have to uncover the mystery!"

"And that faux ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte is…." Inspector Gadget pulled off the mask and it revealed a Chinese villain with silver and blue hair. "Furina?!"

"But why would she do that?" asked Madeline.

"It explains everything. The newest Chinese criminal Furina wanted the private collections of Napoleon Bonaparte all by herself and sell them to other villains in the Chinese black market to earn loads of money so that she can be richer like most of the evil communist elites and their brainwashed followers in China! Her main scheme was disguising as the ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte to scare off visitors! She even vandalized the premises by painting the red messages to scare off visitors who dared to go near them!" explained Inspector Gadget.

"The real ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte would never scare off someone like that unless if they are evil with bad intentions!" Rayman snapped back at Furina. "And you are just giving him a bad name after all! That explains the messages in red on the walls!"

The police then came along and took Furina away in handcuffs. Furina was mad and she shouted back to the heroes in defeat.

"And we would have gotten away with that evil scheme too, if it weren't for you meddling heroes along with your blasted hats and that wretched rooster!" Furina shouted angrily as he was taken away by the police officers.

"A perfect job I would daresay, but your attempt to steal my private collection is futile." A voiced echoed from nowhere, scaring Furina while he was taken away by the police. It was the real ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte, with an unpleasant expression due to Furina's wicked scheme of attempting to steal his private collection.

"Napoleon Bonaparte here. I am the real ghost to be precise. You have done pretty well and solid during your journey to Paris, rooster. I must warn you something: evil forces and challenges await on your path, and can either cope or learn to deal with it, it is up to you." explained the ghost of Napoleon Bonaparte before departing.

"Guess we learnt an important lesson for today!" said Inspector Gadget. "What's next? I am joining in for Paris too, those baddies may be lurking around so I have to keep everyone safe!"

"Best not to make others angry, you know that they can be scary when they are downright mad like the Angry Birds!" Gaulois added. "Anyways, onwards to Angers! No seriously, mon amis; be happy and just make sure that no villains are here to ruin everything! Welcome to the team, Inspector Gadget! Bienvenue!"

With that the entire crew had Inspector Gadget as a new addition, heading off to their next destination in France. Angers is their next destination, with their moods having experienced the calm before the storm….

Meanwhile at the Paris lair….

"You know what makes me angry? Heroes and roosters of course! Those meddlers have gotten away once again!" Lila Rossi was furious once more that her plans did not go according to her expectations.

"Quell your rage, mistress. The next batch of villains will work together to destroy that rooster and those heroes in a resounding success, I guarantee." Belle Bottom assured Lila. She then turned to Scaramouche who was arguing with Big Nose.

"Hasten your steps, insignificant bunglers! Make sure you work together or suffer from you bosses' wrath! Remember that in you minds or we will have Captain Dubois to finish off the entire work!" Belle Bottom reprimanded them. The next batch of villains headed off, ready to destroy as their main task.
