Some months later.

It's Saturday noon, and Hanna arrives home with a small carry-on suitcase and a bag after spending three days in New York.

The house is very quiet, with neither Caleb nor Chocolate around.

Caleb has been on a business trip for a week, and Chocolate is at Ashley's, where Hanna dropped him off before heading to New York a few days ago.

Hanna and Caleb have finally decided to renovate the ground floor of the house, and the contractor they hired, along with a cleaning service company and a decorator, barely finished their work a couple of days before Caleb left on his trip. Now, the amazing new integrated kitchen, dining and living areas, welcome Hanna as fabulously as she left it. Only the laundry room, a pantry, and a bathroom remain separate from the rest. They have kept the kitchen furniture as it still looked brand new from Caleb's previous renovations, and the decorator has matched the rest of the areas accordingly, opting for light colors and creating a modern yet cozy ambiance. It was two months of chaos that Hanna barely witnessed, as just as she had told Caleb, she moved to her mom's during the renovations to stay calm and away from it all. She only met up with the decorator to be involved in the important decisions. Caleb has also been staying there at Ashley's, to be with Hanna, of course, but mostly showing up there just to sleep, so he kept his belongings at home during that time.

Regarding Hanna's pregnancy, her mood swings have become less frequent as she reached the second trimester, but they resurface every so often. Having entered this stage of pregnancy, she and Caleb have also announced the news in a shared post on Instagram, letting their friends and acquaintances know about the imminent arrival of their daughter. Hanna has taken the time to make a special phone call to grandma Reggie to break the joyful news to her as well, and that's how her dad ended up learning about her pregnancy too a few days later, as Regina Marin shared the news with him, who just sent a brief text to Hanna to congratulate on the news, which she found a bit cold somehow, but coming from him, she wasn't expecting much more anyway. Hanna's relationship with her father has remained as distant as always, barely seeing each other a couple of times after his surprising attendance at the wedding, one of those times being a dull dinner out with Caleb and Isabel too, a couple of days after Hanna's birthday with the intention of celebrating her, and even though it didn't turn out as awkward as that Christmas dinner, it was not something worth repeating on another occasion. Returning to the matter of Hanna's pregnancy, everything else has been perfect so far, with her prenatal checkups on point. She's a couple of weeks past the sixth month now, just starting her third and last trimester, and showing an adorable baby bump. It wasn't until a bit more than a month ago that she began feeling the baby moving inside of her, and it was surely a turning point, making it all feel more real, both for her and Caleb, who was moved to tears the first time he placed his palm on Hanna's belly and felt the baby's movements under his touch. They've started feeling more connected to their daughter from that moment. As for the baby's name, that's another story. It's been a complicated matter, as Hanna hasn't liked any of the names Caleb proposed, but she hasn't been able to come up with a name she really likes either, so the little girl in her belly remains unnamed for now.

Caleb and Toby's company has grown a little too, fulfilling Caleb's wish to be able to focus on more important things while having other employees taking on some of their tasks, although, his schedule and working hours have remained as busy as before as his software has been taking a good amount of time from him. The growth of it and therefore its needs, have had him replacing his old meetings with clients with new meetings with suppliers, which wasn't exactly his initial ideal.

And finally, as for Chocolate, he's almost back to his old self. He's been sleeping in his bed in the hallway, even when Hanna and Caleb forget to close the door to their bedroom. The trainer has been really helpful, initially seeing him once a week, then every two weeks, and now just occasionally, as Hanna and Caleb have been following his instructions to the letter, getting positive results. Although, there are still a few details to work on, he's not completely relaxed in public places when Hanna joins him and Caleb for walks, like when they're hanging out in the park. He tends to stay a bit defensive and protective of her. Hanna hasn't started walking him alone again, just to be safe. With her baby bump, she doesn't want to risk getting pulled to the ground if Chocolate has an unexpected reaction.

Starving, and leaving her baggage at the entrance, Hanna heads straight for the kitchen to prepare herself a quick lunch.

Sitting at the new amazing large table, she decides to text Ashley while having a tuna salad: "Hey mom! Just got home. I have some things to take care of here, but I'll pick Chocolate up later. Will you be home?"

Then, she sends out another text to Caleb: "Hey baby! Just got home. Can't wait to see you tonight."

Just as she lays her phone on the table, it buzzes, receiving a text from Ashley: "Hi sweetie! I'll bring him back myself. I want to see you. See you in a little while."

Some minutes later, as Hanna is clearing the table, her phone buzzes again, and her face lights up with a smile while reading Caleb's text: "Can't wait to see my girls again. See you tonight. I think I'll get there around eleven. Love you."

Still smiling, Hanna texts him a red heart emoji and proceeds to wash the dishes, something she would normally leave for later, but everything looks so flawless and perfect after the renovations that she wants to keep it that way.

Shortly after, while unpacking some of her clothes in the laundry room, the doorbell rings.

Hanna "Hey, mom!" She greets Ashley with a smile after opening the front door. But her gaze goes straight to Chocolate, and her smile grows wider. "Hi, my baby!" She greets him too, as the dog wags his tail uncontrollably.

Ashley "Easy, Chocolate!" She says, pulling on the leash to keep him from leaping on Hanna.

Once inside, Ashley releases him.

Hanna "Easy, buddy!" She tells him too, leaning forward to pet him.

Once the dog calms down, Hanna stands up straight and looks at Ashley.

Hanna "How's everything, mom?"

Ashley "Just as good as always." She responds, smiling at her daughter. "What about you? How are you feeling after three hectic days in New York?" She reaches out to gently brush Hanna's hair away from her face. "You must be tired."

Hanna "Yeah, maybe a bit. But I'm okay."

Ashley "Have you eaten something already? Want me to prepare something for you?"

Hanna shoots her a smile. "Thanks, mom. I just had a salad."

Ashley nods while taking a look around. She has already seen the renovations, but she takes another chance to check it out again. "You need to give me the number of your decorator, Hanna. This place looks amazing." She comments while making herself comfortable on the new couch. And if the couch Hanna and Caleb had before was already huge, this new one is even bigger, with several cushions and a couple of blankets adorning it.

Hanna "Yeah, it does." She grins, approaching the couch. "What for, though? Are you planning on renovating my room now that I'm definitely not going back?" She asks playfully.

Ashley shifts her gaze back to her. "Oh, no! That room will be for my granddaughter... It's for when she comes over to spend the night at her grandma's!" She grins, excited about the thought. "I was just thinking of giving the living room a paint job and getting some new furniture. Anyway… I wanted to ask you something…"

Hanna looks at her confused.

Ashley "I've received a significant sum of money in my account a couple of weeks ago, and after making a consultation in person at my bank because they refused to give me more information over the phone, I found out the transfer came from some company based in New York that happens to have the same name as you… Care to enlighten me?"

Hanna grins. "It's just the money you lent to me some years back, mom."

Ashley "Yes, I figured. But I told you I didn't want you to pay me back. I'll transfer it back to you. Use it for your daughter, or something."

Hanna sits down next to Ashley. "Mom, listen to me. You know how much I appreciated your support when I was just starting out, and I'm not just talking about the money." She takes Ashley's hand. "But now things are going incredibly well. In fact, I've even been buying back some of the shares I sold to investors a couple of years ago. This allows me to own a larger portion of my own company, as Lucas has explained to me. Anyway, I'll feel more fulfilled if you take your money back. It doesn't matter if you don't need it. It's yours. Seriously. I'll be forever thankful to you."

Ashley "Are you sure, Hanna? Because that money was my gift to you and-"

Hanna "Mom…" She cuts her off. "Your gift to me was believing in me more than I did myself and pushing me to do this. And look where I am now! I'm dressing celebrities and… don't tell anyone, because this is very recent and I haven't even shared the news with Caleb yet, but I've been invited to be part of a huge fashion show in New York in a couple of months."

Ashley "That's amazing news, Hanna!" She says, excitedly pulling Hanna into a hug. "Congratulations!"

Hanna "Thanks mom!" she grins once more while hugging her back, or at least, embracing her as best she can, given her baby bump. "Will you please keep your money, then, mom? It's yours. Do it for me so that I can be at peace with myself."

Ashley chuckles. "Yes, I'll keep it, you stubborn daughter of mine."

Hanna chuckles too. "Thanks, mom!" She says, pulling away from the hug.

Ashley "Are you busy right now? Don't you want to go out for a coffee or something?"

Hanna "Coffee, mom? It's hot as hell outside. Besides… I have to empty the nursery. I've been wanting to take the things that I've left in there to the attic for months, but you know me, I always leave everything for the last minute and the furniture that the decorator helped us to pick out will arrive any time."

Ashley "Oh, okay! I'll help you with that, then!"

They stand up and head for the stairs, Chocolate following them.

Ashley "So, what time is Caleb landing? Do you have to pick him up in Philly?"

Hanna "Nope… He left his car in the airport parking lot because he refused to let me drive him there and then pick him up, all because both his flights were at night…" She rolls her eyes. "Anyway, he texted me earlier saying that he would be here around eleven, so I guess his flight lands around ten." She explains as they head for the room that will be her daughter's.

/

Later on.

Hanna "This is the last box, mom." She says, going up the attic stairs.

Ashley "Okay, be careful." She replies, peering out from the attic and taking the box from Hanna's hands.

Hanna finishes climbing the last steps and joins her mother in the attic.

Hanna "Oh, there are more things up here than I thought." She says, taking a look around. "I guess Caleb must have stored stuff here when he renovated the house the first time."

Ashley nods, inspecting a large box. "There are some frames here… with family pictures… Do you think they're Caleb's family?"

Hanna approaches her and takes a look as well. She sees a frame with a photo of an elderly couple on top. She recognizes the man as Caleb's grandfather, as he has shown her a couple of pictures of him before, and assumes the lady must be his grandmother.

Hanna "Yes, that's his grandfather… But let's not go through Caleb's stuff." She says, closing the cardboard box flaps, although there's a part of her intrigued to take a closer look.

Ashley "Is there anything you need me to take downstairs? I don't want you carrying stuff around, especially not down the stairs."

Hanna "No… I just wanted to clear the baby's room. Let's go back down."

Ashley "Okay, let me go first… I don't trust these old stairs, they seem a bit unsteady. I'll hold them for you."

Hanna "Yeah, Caleb needs to take a look at them."

/

That afternoon, Hanna is in the parking lot of the supermarket. Her phone is buzzing non-stop in her purse. As she finishes loading the last bag into the trunk of her car, her phone goes from buzzing to ringing. She retrieves it from her purse as she gets into the car.

Hanna "Hey, baby! What's up?" She answers upon seeing Caleb's name on the screen.

Caleb "Hey! I texted you like half an hour ago…"

Hanna "Yeah, I'm sorry. I was at the store, and I thought it was just the girls blowing up my phone. They were texting like crazy, organizing our evening. We're getting together at Ali and Em's, and I think Ali is making lasagna, but I didn't quite follow the chat. I just told them I would bring dessert. Anyway, why are you calling? Aren't you about to take off?"

Caleb "My flight got delayed, that's why I'm calling. There's a thunderstorm here, so they postponed it for at least two more hours…"

Hanna "Oh, really? Ugh, that's the worst... I was really hoping to have you here. I miss you like crazy."

Caleb "Same here, baby."

Hanna "So you are getting here like one in the morning?"

Caleb "I'm not sure… they only postponed the flight for two hours for now, but… there are many delayed flights here, and it doesn't seem like the storm is going to calm down anytime soon."

Hanna "Oh…" She only responds, sounding disappointed.

Caleb "On top of that, I was stupid enough to leave my charger in the suitcase that I checked in, so I had to go out to get a new cable and ended up soaking wet."

Hanna "Oh, that sounds awful! Are you alright?"

Caleb "Yeah, just a bit cold, but I moved to another part of the airport where the air conditioning isn't that strong."

Hanna "Maybe you should try to find a cozy spot, like a café or something, to warm up until your flight boards. Don't want you getting sick."

Caleb "Thanks, babe, but I'll be fine, don't worry."

Hanna "Okay, keep me posted."

Caleb "I will, have a nice time with the girls!"

Hanna "Thanks, baby. I will. I think the guys are coming too. Anyway, see you… in some hours, I hope."

Caleb "Oh, so I'll be the only one missing?"

Hanna "Yep."

Caleb "Okay, I'll text you when I have any news, Han."

Hanna "Okay."

Caleb "Bye, babe."

Hanna "Bye. Take care."

/

That evening.

Emily "Hey, Han!" She greets Hanna with a smile after opening the front door for her.

Grace "Hi, antie!" She shows up running from behind her mother.

Hanna "Hi, ladies!" She happily greets them back while stepping inside.

Grace "I wike your dwess." The little girl says, looking up at Hanna with big eyes.

Hanna shoots Grace a smile while passing a cheesecake to Emily. "Thank you, Gracie! I'll save it for you, for when you grow up." She jokes, leaning forward to press a kiss on the girl's cheek. "I like your dress too."

Grace smiles back.

It's the beginning of summer, so Hanna has opted to wear a short, loose dress with a floral print, and combined it with just a pair of sneakers to stay fresh and comfy.

Emily "Go ahead, the guys are in the living room. I'll go put this in the fridge."

Grace "Le' go, antie." She says, taking Hanna's hand and walking her to the living room as Emily heads for the kitchen.

Hanna "Hi, everyone!" She greets all of her friends there at once.

As everyone greets her back, she lets go of Grace's hand and leans forward to hug Lily and Finn, who have approached her right away after seeing her enter the room.

Hanna "Hi, my babies."

Dante drops a toy and rushes toward Hanna as well.

Aria "You're so their favorite." She chuckles. "They didn't greet any of us like that."

Hanna smiles, letting go of Finn and Lily to give Dante a brief hug as well. "Hi, sweetie."

Spencer "No one beats fun auntie Hanna…"

Hanna "What can I say? They love me." She grins, as Dante's little arms remain tightly wrapped around her neck. Standing up straight, she takes Dante in her arms.

Finn "Where's Chocwit?"

Hanna "I left him at home, Finnie. You can see him another day."

Lily "Can we go swim at your pwel, Antie Hanna?"

Ezra laughs. "The pool, huh? That's why she's their favorite." He jokes.

Hanna chuckles. "Yes, we can arrange for you all to come to our pool any of these days."

Dante shakes his head.

Hanna "Oh, you don't like swimming, Dantie?" She asks the little boy, caressing his hair.

Dante shakes his head again.

Lily chuckles. "He's such a baby, he's 'fraid of the wawa!" She says, in a mocking tone.

Alison "It's not cool to make fun of your friends, Lily." She intervenes, coming from the kitchen.

Emily "Maybe we can teach little Dantie how to swim, so he's not afraid of the pool anymore, right Lily?" She proposes, backing up Alison, as they take a seat on the couch.

Lily nods.

Hanna "That's great, Dantie! You are lucky auntie Emily is an expert at teaching kids how to swim."

Dante shakes his head once again.

Aria "He's not so convinced yet." She comments, smiling.

Hanna "Well, that's okay too." She gives Dante a kind smile. "We can set up a little inflatable pool with very little water… or just play with something else, right?"

Dante finally nods, liking Hanna's proposal.

Hanna grins and presses a kiss to his cheek before putting him back down on his feet. "Go play with your friends, baby." She says, and goes to sit down in an armchair.

Toby "So, when's your husband coming back?" He asks from the other armchair, where he's cuddling with Spencer.

Hanna "Tonight, hopefully… they delayed his flight. He was supposed to be home around eleven, but… now who knows…"

Ezra "Oh, that sucks. I hate getting stuck at airports."

Hanna "Yeah, tell me about it. I almost missed these two's wedding that time I got stuck in China." She says, gesturing toward Spencer and Toby.

Spencer "Do you know why Caleb's flight got delayed?"

Hanna "There's a big storm in LA. Several flights are delayed. It's a thunderstorm."

Spencer nods.

Ezra "Does he need a ride from the airport? I wouldn't mind picking him up." He offers.

Hanna "Oh, no, thanks." She shoots him a smile. "He left his car there at the Philly airport, so there's no problem with that." She adds, taking her phone from her purse to check the time.

Toby "Is Jason coming, Ali?"

Alison "He better, because he's in charge of the wine."

Emily "He has officially dethroned Hanna as the most unpunctual one."

As her friends continue the conversation, Hanna texts Caleb: "Hey, are you boarding now?"

Caleb texts her back right away: "Not yet baby. My flight got delayed for another hour. I'll let you know if anything changes."

Upon receiving that text, Hanna's mood lowers significantly, and she becomes quiet as the rest keep chatting.

Shortly after, Jason finally arrives, and they all move to the table. Another little table has been placed nearby for the kids. Alison serves her famous lasagna, and everyone enjoys the meal together. Until, crying starts coming from the little ones' table, and when the adults turn to take a look, Finn is in tears as Lily accuses him of staining her dress with sauce, and Grace accuses Lily of pinching Finn. Dante looks at his older friends with big astonished eyes until he decides it's enough drama and abandons the kids' table to go to his mom. Toby stands up to go comfort his son, and Emily approaches the twins to try to calm the waters.

Once the conflict seems to be resolved, Toby and Emily go back to their seats.

Alison "Ezra, want some more lasagna?" She offers, noticing his empty dish.

Ezra "Sure! Thanks." He accepts, passing over his dish. "It's very good, Ali."

Alison smiles, taking his dish. "Thanks!... I think Han didn't like it that much." She adds, glancing at Hanna, whose dish is still almost full.

Hanna "Oh, no! It's delicious as always, Ali." She gives her a slight smile. "I'm just not that hungry. That's all."

Aria "Dantie agrees, he's digging into my lasagna." She chuckles, feeding her son, who has remained sitting on her lap since the conflict interrupted his meal at the other table.

Emily "Are you alright, Han?"

Hanna "Yeah, I'm okay. Just a bit tired."

Spencer "How was New York, Han? You stayed longer this time…"

Hanna "It was good. I just took the chance to take care of a few things there, you know? Given that Caleb wasn't going to be home anyway."

Ezra "Whose celebrity dress are you working on this time?"

Hanna smiles a little. "Katheryn Winnick stopped by the store last week. I wasn't even there, one of my girls called me to ask if she could let her take a couple of dresses, and of course I said yes."

Ezra narrows his eyes. "I'm not sure if I know that one…"

Aria "Yes, you do. She's the actress from Vikings, Ragnar's wife."

Ezra "Oh, yes, that's right!"

Hanna "And Emma Stone's stylist texted me last week because she wants to wear another of my designs again." She adds, with a proud smile. "She said she'd let me know in a couple of weeks, because Emma will be in New York and wants to take a look herself and maybe try them on."

Emily "That's so great, Han!"

Alison "I knew it was just a matter of time until you ended up playing in the big leagues, Han."

Jason "I wouldn't mind if you introduced me to any of those new celebrity friends of yours, Han." He winks at Hanna.

Alison "Weren't you seeing someone already?"

Jason shrugs. "Nothing serious yet, sis."

Alison rolls her eyes at him.

Hanna "Well, that's not all, guys… I haven't even told Caleb yet, but… My designs will be part of the New York Fashion Week fall-winter show in a couple of months."

Spencer "Oh, Han! Congratulations!" She says excitedly, and the rest of the group joins in, congratulating Hanna as well.

Hanna "Thanks, guys!" She smiles again.

Toby "So, who are you hooking up with, bud?" He asks Jason, resuming the previous subject.

Hanna checks her phone for the twentieth time in an hour, but she has no texts from Caleb, so she decides to text him herself again: "So? Still no news?"

It's not until a few minutes later, when Alison starts serving the cheesecake that Hanna brought, that Caleb texts her back: "Still stuck here, baby. But some flights have started to board passengers, so I'm hopeful mine will follow soon. Anyway, don't wait up for me. I'll get home pretty late."

Hanna sighs, her eyes already welling up with tears.

Alison "Here, Han." She says, handing her a plate with a slice of cheesecake.

Hanna "I'll pass, Ali, thanks." She says, standing up. "I'll go use the bathroom." She excuses herself and walks away.

Once in the bathroom, Hanna texts Caleb back with a simple sad face emoji. She takes the chance to relieve herself as a couple of tears roll down her cheeks. But then, after washing her hands, she wipes away her tears, trying to recompose herself, running the tip of her index finger along her lower eyelids to remove any mascara that could have stained her skin. Taking a deep breath to calm down, she stares at her reflection in the mirror to check her makeup again. Suddenly, she feels a soft kick coming from inside her baby bump. Her face lights up with a sudden half-smile as she looks down and places her palm against her belly.

Hanna "Hey there!" She smiles even more, feeling another movement under her hand. "Thanks for reminding me that you are right here with me." She lowers the lid of the toilet and takes a seat. "I was just feeling a little lonely and sad because daddy isn't coming back yet. But I'm okay now." She says, even though another tear escapes from one of her eyes and falls into her smile. "Are you missing daddy too?... Yes, he better show up with nice presents for us. We aren't letting him get away next time. He'll have to take us with him."

Hanna hears a knock on the door, followed by Aria's voice.

Aria "Han, are you okay in there?"

Hanna "Yeah, I'm sorry. I'll be right out."

Aria "It's okay, take your time. I don't need to use the bathroom. Just wanted to check on you."

Hanna "I'm okay, don't worry."

Aria "Okay."

Standing up from the toilet, Hanna receives another text from Caleb: "What are you up to? I'm getting bored here. Are you still at the girls'?"

Hanna: "Yeah, still here. Guess what? Our little one is kicking up a storm. We miss you!"

Caleb: "God, I miss you two so bad. Can't wait to get home."

Hanna smiles, lifting up her dress to reveal her baby bump. She holds the fabric between her chin and chest, recording a brief video where a couple of bulges are visible on the surface of her belly as their girl keeps moving. Then, she sends it to Caleb. She stays in the bathroom for another couple of minutes, waiting for him to text back. And he does.

Caleb: "Wow, that's amazing! Thanks for sharing, Han. It makes being stuck here a bit more bearable. Love you both so much. See you soon."

Hanna: "See you soon, baby. Love you so very much."

Finally leaving the bathroom, Hanna finds that her friends, still enjoying the cheesecake, have moved back to the living room, so she joins them.

Toby "Here, Han." He gestures, moving closer to Spencer to make some room for her on the couch, as all the other seats are taken.

Spencer "Are you alright?" She asks as Hanna takes a seat.

Hanna "Yep." She simply responds, placing both her hands on her baby bump.

Toby "Oh, is she moving?" He asks, noticing it.

Hanna nods. "Like crazy."

Toby "May I?"

Hanna "Sure." She smiles at Toby.

Toby carefully places his palm on her belly. "Oh, she's quite the kicker!" He chuckles.

Spencer reaches out and places her hand there as well. "You have a very restless little girl in there, Han."

Hanna chuckles. "Yeah…"

Grace approaches and places her little hand there too, imitating the adults. "Feel notin." She says, confused.

Hanna smiles, guiding Grace's hand. "Here, Gracie. Do you feel her now?"

Spencer and Toby move their hands away.

Grace nods, taking her hand away too, with a puzzled expression. Then, she just turns around and leaves to join her little friends.

Hanna grins.

Alison laughs. "I think she didn't like it that much."

Emily "Must be a little weird for her."

Spencer "Yes, feeling his brother was weird for Finnie at first too, but he got used to it now, and he actually asks me sometimes if the baby is awake and also kisses my belly." She comments.

Jason "Well, guys… I'll take off now. It was great seeing you and your bunch of kids, and stuff, but… I've got a party to crash." He says, leaving his empty dessert plate on the coffee table.

Toby "Are you meeting up with your girl?" He teases him.

Ezra "A party to crash? Or is it more like candles and sheets?" He joins in.

Alison "You should bring her over sometime, I wanna meet her."

Jason chuckles. "Here? With your kids fighting at the next table? Throwing sauce and pooping their diapers? No, thanks. She'd run away as fast as she can."

Alison "Oh, so you are seeing someone." She teases him too.

Emily "Hey! The twins no longer use diapers!"

Jason "Your lasagna was delicious, sis." He changes the subject. "See you around, guys!" He heads out the front door.

Ezra "Well, guys, seems like we aren't cool people anymore." He jokes.

Toby laughs. "Excuse me, man, but you were never that cool anyway."

Everyone laughs.

Hanna "Ugh, I could really use a party right now." She yawns.

Toby smiles amused. "Sure, Han. You look very like it." He teases her, resting his arm over her shoulders, so he is now holding both Spencer and Hanna.

Hanna "You underestimate me, Toby. I've got some party left in me." She refutes him, resting her head on his shoulder.

Spencer chuckles. "It seems to me like you have more than some party in you…"

Aria "Your party has arms and legs, Han." She adds playfully, causing her friends to laugh again.

Spencer "So guys! You're taking your first family trip with the girls!" She tells Emily and Alison, changing the subject.

Emily grins. "Yeah! We thought about Disneyland, but the girls are still too little to actually enjoy it, so… We're going to the beach!"

Aria "Miami?"

Alison nods with a grin. "I'm ready to do some shopping."

As her friends engage in the new conversation, Hanna decides to close her eyes for a moment, but within seconds, she ends up falling asleep, still too comfortable being held by Toby. The minutes pass by until someone finally notices her.

Ezra "Isn't that the girl who was just asking for some party?" He says amused, gesturing toward Hanna.

Everyone looks at Hanna.

Toby smiles. "Send a pic to Caleb." He tells Spencer, not wanting to move and disturb Hanna's sleep.

Spencer sits up and takes a picture of Hanna with her phone.

Aria "Poor Han, she must be missing Caleb. She looked a bit sad earlier." She comments as her kid approaches her, extending his arms, asking to be carried.

Alison nods, agreeing with her.

Emily "Does anyone know if he finally boarded his plane?"

Spencer "I'll ask him." She says, typing on her phone and then leaning against Toby's side again.

Aria "We should get going, honey. Dantie needs to hit the sack." She tells Ezra.

Toby "We should get going, babe. Hanna needs to hit the sack." He playfully says to Spencer.

Spencer chuckles. "You'll have to convince our other little one to leave…" She gestures toward Finn, who is very entertained playing with the twins. "He doesn't look that sleepy yet."

Toby "Maybe we can just leave him here for a sleepover with the twins… we could use a night to ourselves." He suggests, smirking and pecking Spencer's lips.

Alison "No way, we already have enough with two kids here."

Emily "Unless you take the twins next weekend…" She grins.

Spencer chuckles. "Caleb's such an idiot." She interrupts them, checking her phone again.

Aria "What does he say?"

Spencer "He's replying to Hanna's pic. He only sent me that emoji face with heart-shaped eyes at first, but then he must have taken a better look at the pic because he sent me another text, 'That better be Toby's arm,' and then he sent out another, 'or Ezra's.'"

Toby smiles amused. "Tell him it's a friend of Jason's who came over after dinner."

Emily "Don't be mean! He's already having a hard time stuck at the airport."

Spencer "He says that it seems like he'll be boarding in a little while, around eleven, and that he thinks they won't delay his flight again because other flights have taken off already."

Ezra "Well, guys! We are taking off too." He says, as Aria stands up with their sleepy son in her arms.

Aria "Maybe we should wake Han up and see if she wants a ride." She tells Ezra.

Spencer "Don't worry, she came in her own car, Ari. We'll let her nap a little longer."

Aria nods as Ezra picks up a couple of toys that Dante brought with him.

Alison "Want some more wine?" She asks Toby.

Toby smiles. "I could use another glass, and since Spence is driving…"

Spencer rolls her eyes. "You're really taking advantage of my pregnancies and breastfeeding to make me your personal designated driver. But let me warn you, you'll owe me like four years of rides once I'm done breastfeeding this little one." She says, caressing her baby bump.

Toby chuckles. "Don't be mean! You can't drink anyway, what's the problem?"

Spencer "The problem is that I want some wine too." She says, her tone serious as she raises her eyebrows.

Toby "Maybe Ali's got some of the twins' grape juice…" He jokes.

Spencer gives him a death glare.

Emily "This is your second pregnancy and you still haven't learned that you can joke like that with a pregnant woman?" She tells Toby. "Don't worry, Spence, I'll give you as many rides as you need when you are back in the wine game."

Spencer smiles at Emily. "Thanks, Em! It's very nice to have someone as thoughtful around…" She gives Toby another look.

Toby smiles. "I'm sorry, baby." He tenderly kisses Spencer's cheek. "But you are still driving."

Spencer can't help smiling a little.

After Spencer gently rouses Hanna from her nap to let her know that they're heading home and shares the latest news about Caleb's flight, great news, as he finally boarded just before eleven. Hanna says goodbye to her friends and heads home herself.

Chocolate greets her eagerly at the front door.

Feeling less tired after her nap on Ali and Emily's couch, Hanna decides to stay up for Caleb, unwilling to sleep without him for another night. Kicking off her sneakers and remaining in her summer dress, she settles comfortably on the bed and searches for a new series to watch. Caressing her baby bump through the fabric of her dress, she starts the first episode of a silly comedy.

Growing bored with the series halfway through the second episode, Hanna decides to go out again, craving something sweet. She grabs candies and chocolates from a nearby gas station store before returning home. Back on the bed, this time with her sketchbook and drawing pencils, she starts putting down a few new designs, trying to keep herself entertained. A couple of chocolate bars, some gummies, and three completed sketches later, she checks the time and realizes there are still a couple more hours until Caleb lands, plus another hour for him to drive back from Philly.

With the night still warm, she takes her phone and calls for Chocolate before heading downstairs and out to the backyard. Settling onto a double lounger that she and Caleb have recently acquired, with Chocolate beside her, she strokes the dog's head and ears while gazing up at the starry sky and the half-moon. Slowly she drifts off for another nap.

She wakes up filling chilly after a while. Yawning, she checks her phone again and realizes Caleb must be about to land in Philly.

Hanna: "Hey again! Let me know when you're on your way back from Philly in your car." She texts him.

Hanna "Come on, Chocolate, let's head back inside."

The dog gets up and Hanna follows. They head back inside and then upstairs.

Hanna "Stay there, baby!" She instructs Chocolate, gesturing toward his bed before going back into her bedroom.

Yawning again, she picks up the empty wrappers of the chocolates and candies she ate earlier and throws them into the bathroom trash, where she brushes her teeth again.

Back in the bedroom, she picks up her phone from the bed and her lips curl up into a smile right away at finding a text from Caleb: "What are you doing up this late? On my way there, baby. Can't wait to get home."

Hanna replies immediately: "Drive safely, baby. Love u."

Still smiling, she climbs back onto the bed, piles up a couple of pillows, and resumes the series she abandoned earlier, passing the time until Caleb's arrival.

The hugest grin spreads across Hanna's face when finally, after so many hours of waiting, she hears the front door and Chocolate rushing downstairs. The sound of Caleb's voice greeting Chocolate heightens her anticipation, and she sits up. As she hears Caleb coming upstairs, she rushes toward the end of the bed, remaining on her knees as she waits for him.

Caleb "Hey there! Did you miss me?" He asks, smiling as he approaches the bed.

Hanna only grins even more in response as he finally reaches her and pulls her into a much-needed hug. A hug with her baby bump between them.

Hanna "Hi, baby." Her arms wrap around his neck as tightly as she can manage. "How are you?" She noisily smooches his cheek.

Caleb "Now that I'm finally home, good." He says, tightening his grip around her waist. "But I'm completely exhausted. This was the worst flight of my life, well, not just the flight, all those hours at that freaking airport."

Hanna pulls away from the hug to look at him. "Well, you're finally here now." She cups his face, rubbing his cheeks with her thumbs.

Caleb nods, leaning in for a kiss. "Feels so good to be back." He whispers against her lips.

Hanna kisses him back, keeping her hold on his face, as she feels his hands tracing down her lower back. She suddenly smiles against his lips, sensing them move to her butt and give it a gentle squeeze. Then, he tenderly guides them to her front, cupping her baby bump.

Caleb "Didn't say hi to my little girl." He says, smiling, as he pulls away from Hanna's mouth.

Hanna grins as he leans forward and plants a tender kiss on top of her pregnant belly. Then he straightens up to speak to her again.

Caleb "I'm dying to take a warm shower, babe. I feel hideous. Need to get out of these clothes right now."

Hanna chuckles. "Go ahead, I'll get you a clean towel."

Caleb nods. "Thanks, babe." He pecks her lips before releasing her and heading for the bathroom.

/

Only a few minutes later, Caleb emerges from the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist.

Caleb "Kept yourself entertained, huh?" He comments, gesturing toward her sketchbook and pencils on her bedside table.

Hanna "Yeah." She says, getting up from the bed again. "It was a long night." She heads to her side of the closet.

Caleb "You didn't have to wait up for me."

Hanna "I wanted to." She says, retrieving her hairdryer from one of her drawers.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, she plugs it into the free socket next to her bedside lamp.

Hanna "Come here, I'll dry your hair so you can turn in." She tells Caleb, as he finishes putting on a pair of boxers.

Caleb approaches and sits down before Hanna, his back to her. Hanna starts drying his hair, using her other hand to comb through it with her fingers.

Hanna "There you go." She says after only a few minutes, placing a very tender kiss on his shoulder before shutting off the dryer and leaving it on the floor.

Caleb "Thanks, babe. I'm absolutely craving sleep." He says, turning around to look at her.

Hanna smiles as he reaches for her, brushing strands of her hair behind her ear.

Caleb "You look so beautiful." He says, keeping his hand there, caressing her cheek.

Hanna's smile widens as she leans into his touch. "Let's get some rest."

Caleb nods and moves to his side of the bed, where he lies down on his side. Hanna does the same, facing him.

Caleb "May I?" He asks, reaching for the hem of her dress.

Hanna chuckles. "Since when do you ask for permission?"

Caleb lifts her dress, exposing her belly, then lowers himself to its level.

Caleb "Hi little Hally baby." He whispers, kissing Hanna's baby bump, this time right against her warm skin. "Are you awake in there?"

Hanna "What did you just call her?" She asks, amused.

Caleb "Hally." He chuckles. "It just came out, like a nickname for Haleb. Poor little girl, we've been calling her Haleb baby for long enough, I just wanted to call her in a more affectionate way." He explains, brushing his fingertips on her belly and placing another kiss there.

Hanna laughs.

Caleb "Seriously, we need to find her a name…"

Hanna suddenly becomes serious now. "Well, I think you just did…" She says, in a softer tone.

Caleb looks up at her, slightly puzzled.

Hanna "Hallie, babe... I mean, spelled with double 'L', 'I', and 'E'... Like 'ell', 'eye', and 'ee'... I like it... 'Hallie'… sounds cute. Besides, it would be meaningful for us. I mean, there are so many cute names I like, but none of them convince me fully. This name actually makes sense…" She speaks her thoughts. "Hallie Rivers…"

Caleb smirks, loving Hanna's reasoning. "Isn't she going to hate us for naming her a nickname derived from some sort of a combination of our own names that some teenage girl came up with while inventing a ship a few years ago and that we playfully adopted?"

Hanna chuckles. "She doesn't need to know it, besides, who cares? We're her parents. She'll have to put up with us and our silly stuff at least until she's 21. So, she should be grateful we didn't just name her Haleb."

Caleb "Hallie it is, then." He laughs. "God, I actually like it very much…"

Hanna "We've been discussing her name for months, and now you just came up with it by chance, after spending too many hours stuck at some airport, some more hours flying, and yet another hour driving back home." She says, amused.

Caleb "Well, what can I say? I spent most of those hours thinking about you and her." He admits, moving back up to rest his head on the pillow. "But it seems like Hallie didn't wait up for me." He adds, rubbing Hanna's belly. "Thank god you did, because I was craving your kisses as much as I was for a shower and the bed."

Hanna gets closer to give him another much-deserved loving kiss. "Let's go to sleep, baby." She says, pulling away from his mouth and then standing up.

Caleb "Where are you going?" He asks as he slides under the covers.

Hanna "I'm not sleeping in my dress." She says, taking it off along with her bra.

Caleb "Stay just like that, baby. Come here." He tells her, upon seeing that she's searching for something to wear for bed in her closet.

Given the warm night, Hanna agrees, and after turning off the lights, she returns to bed. Caleb lifts the covers for her, and she lies down, facing him once more.

Caleb "It's so good to be back." He repeats, slipping his arm around her, drawing her close.

Hanna "Feels so good to have you back here." She says as well, kissing his lips again. "Falling asleep together after more than a week feels so comfy." She adds softly, still lingering against his lips.

Caleb nods, brushing his lips against hers. "Goodnight, baby."

Hanna "Night, lovey." She whispers back. "Sleep tight."

Next day.

Hanna and Caleb sleep straight to noon. Surprisingly, Hanna is the first one to wake up. She drowsily opens her eyes to meet Caleb's face, his expression very relaxed as he sleeps peacefully on his stomach. Hanna smiles and can't help tracing his perfect nose with her index finger.

Checking the time on her phone, she decides to stay in bed for a few more minutes, but then gets up and heads for the bathroom, being as quiet as possible. After brushing her teeth and freshening up a little, she returns to bed.

Lying on her side, she draws closer to Caleb, gently pressing her lips to his in a tender kiss, hoping to wake him from his dreams with care.

Slowly, Caleb stirs, his arm finding its way to Hanna's side, resting on her baby bump and waist. His lips meet hers, reciprocating the kiss.

But after only a few seconds, he pulls away abruptly, rolling onto his back.

Hanna looks at him, puzzled.

Caleb "Don't." He manages to speak, his voice raspy. "My throat feels sore." He explains, swallowing hard.

Hanna "Oh." She says softly, propping herself up on her elbows and looking at him. "I'm sorry, baby. Let me go grab you some water. Just rest, okay?" She reaches out to gently stroke his arm, offering him comfort.

Caleb nods.

Hanna gets up again, throwing her robe on as she's still half-naked, and leaves their bedroom.

Coming back a few minutes later, she finds Caleb fully awake, caressing Chocolate's head, who is standing by his side.

Hanna "Here, baby." Sitting on the edge of the bed, she hands him a glass of water. "Let me take a quick shower and I'll go get you some throat sweets." She adds, as Caleb sits up and takes some sips of water.

As he sets the glass on the bedside table and lies back down, Hanna leans on him, resting her head on his chest.

Caleb "You should keep your distance, baby. Don't want to give you my cold." He says, although he places his hands on her back and starts rubbing her through the material of her robe.

Hanna "I'd rather catch your cold than stay away from you… a week was long enough." She says, straightening up after a moment, as leaning on Caleb's chest has become somewhat uncomfortable due to her baby bump.

Caleb meets her gaze with a soft smile. "I don't want you feeling under the weather because of me. You already have enough on your plate." he says, looking down for a moment, placing his hand on her belly. "Thanks for taking care of me, though. Means the world to me." He adds, looking at her again.

Hanna takes his hand from her belly and gives it a tender kiss before standing up.

Later on, when Hanna returns from the pharmacy and the grocery store, having bought throat lozenges for Caleb and some ingredients for soup, she finds him back asleep. She heads downstairs to start preparing the soup, letting him rest a bit longer.

Caleb "Mmm… What's that delicious smell?" He says, showing up there, just as Hanna is about to finish the soup.

Hanna turns to him, still stirring the pot, and gives him a smile. He's thrown on a plain gray t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants, and despite having a cold, he doesn't look bad at all. And Hanna finds her messy hair and barely growing beard particularly sexy.

Caleb "I might have to catch colds more often." He playfully remarks, briefly kissing her shoulder before taking a seat at the table.

Hanna "No, you won't." She replies, leaving the soup and heading for the fridge. "How are you feeling?" She asks as she grabs some cooking cream.

Caleb "I'm okay. My throat is killing me, but it could be worse, I guess."

Hanna "I've got you some throat sweets. They're in my purse." She tells him, adding the cream to the soup.

Caleb nods. "I'll take one later."

Hanna "I cleared out the baby's room yesterday…" She mentions, going back to stir the pot.

Caleb "Why didn't you wait for me? I could have helped."

Hanna "My mom helped. We took everything to the attic. It was pretty packed up there though… there were some boxes with old family photos and stuff. I didn't want to rummage through them without asking…"

Caleb "Yeah, there were already some boxes up there when I moved into this house. I just threw in those same boxes some frames my grandpa kept on top of some old furniture in the living room. I didn't want to keep them, but I didn't feel right throwing them away, so I just left them there. But anyway, you can throw it all away if you need more space for your things."

Hanna "No! Are you nuts? I'm not throwing those boxes away. I was just asking... So you don't even know what's in those boxes? Aren't you curious? It's your family's stuff. You should take a look, maybe you could find some answe-"

Caleb interrupts her. "I'm not interested in those boxes. You can either just leave them there or throw them away, but please, don't go through them." He says, standing up to grab a couple of glasses. "I don't want anything to do with… Whatever is in them." He adds, placing the glasses on the table. "Want some soda?" He asks, looking in the fridge.

Hanna "Water, please." She simply responds, dropping the other subject.

Caleb nods, grabbing both a bottle of soda and another of water, and taking them to the table as well.

Hanna serves up some bowls of soup and joins him at the table.

Hanna "Is it good? Or at least not so terrible?" She asks after he takes his first spoonful, smiling.

Caleb "Amazing." He smiles back.

Hanna chuckles. "You're exaggerating, it's just soup. Soups aren't amazing." She says before trying it herself and finding out that it's actually quite good. "How was LA, baby? I haven't had the chance to ask…"

Caleb "It was good, but I'll elaborate more on my answer when my throat doesn't hurt so much." He smiles at her again.

Hanna "Oh, right, sorry." She smiles back. "I'm making you speak too much."

Caleb "You can update me on your last week." He says, taking another spoonful of soup.

Hanna "Well, you know I stayed in New York for a few days. I checked into a hotel. Lucas insisted on me staying at his place, but… I didn't want to be a bother. Leo and I made a lot of progress on the fall-winter collection. It was a good thing we had already gotten a head start on work because of the baby, because now, we need to get some dresses ready earlier anyway."

Caleb stares at her expectantly as she continues.

Hanna "One of the organizers of an upcoming big fashion show in New York reached out directly to me and invited me to be part of the event, so they want me to present some of my fall-winter designs there."

Caleb grins. "That's amazing, Han!"

Hanna grins too. "Yeah, I know. And that's not all, baby. An editor from that fashion magazine, 'Fashion Fusion' reached out to me as well because she wants to write an article about my brand and feature some of my designs, so we are meeting up next week to make the arrangements."

Caleb "That's so great, Han! Congratulations, baby!" He says, taking her hand across the table.

Hanna "Thanks! I'm finally getting some recognition… It's so exciting!" She says, still smiling widely. "Anyway, no one knows about the magazine, so don't say a word about it, please. I want to keep it a secret until the magazine publishes the article. My mom and the guys only know about the fashion show."

Caleb nods. "So, when is that fashion show?"

Hanna "In a couple of months."

Caleb "A couple of months?"

Hanna nods.

Caleb "But, Han… You'll be… like about to give birth by then."

Hanna "I know, but I wasn't going to miss out on this big opportunity just because of it. I've thought about it. I'll work on it and leave everything ready, and if it turns out that I can't be present that day, Leo will be there anyway."

Caleb "Okay." He agrees, caressing her palm. "I'm happy for you."

Hanna smiles again. "Thanks, babe."

Caleb "The soup was very good, Han… but my throat is killing me. I'll eat some more later." He says, leaving more than half the bowl Hanna served him.

Hanna "Okay, I'll save it for you." She stands up and heads to the couch where she tossed her purse earlier, retrieving from it the throat lozenges she got for Caleb. "Here, have one of these. You'll feel better." She says, setting them on the table.

Caleb "Thank you."

By the time Hanna finishes doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen, Caleb is lying down again, this time on the couch, with Chocolate at the other end of it.

Hanna "Is there any room for me there?" She asks, approaching them.

Caleb "There's always room for you, babe, but… You shouldn't be this close to me."

Hanna "I told you, I don't care." She says, squeezing in beside him, lying on her back, as that's the only way she can fit there, keeping her belly on top. "I could use a nap with you." She adds, as Caleb, who has ended up on his side, wraps his arm around her and tenderly kisses her cheek several times.

Caleb "I wish this little one showed up to say hi…" He says, rubbing Hanna's belly through the fabric of her dress.

Hanna smiles. "She must still be recharging her energy after the kicks she gave me last night."

Caleb nods.

Hanna "I realized how much I love her already yesterday, you know? I was feeling a bit down because your flight kept getting delayed, and she kind of showed up at the perfect time to remind me that she was right there with me."

Caleb "Yeah, it's kind of crazy how connected we already feel to her, isn't it?" He says, continuing to rub Hanna's belly. "I love her too." He grins.

Hanna can't resist his smile and turns her face to the side, stealing a kiss from him.

Caleb chuckles and moves his mouth away from hers. "Don't."

Hanna chuckles too and tries to steal yet another kiss from him.

Caleb "Hanna!"

Hanna "I went through an entire week without your kisses, I'm done."

Caleb "I just don't want you to get a sore throat as well. It's not nice at all." He says, lowering his body a little, resting his head on Hanna's chest, so she can't steal any more kisses. "I need to stop speaking a little, babe. Let's take a nap." He adds, sliding his hand under Hanna's dress and brushing his fingers against the bottom of her baby bump.

Hanna smiles again, gently stroking his hair. "Okay, only one more question and I'll leave you alone…"

Caleb "Shoot."

Hanna "Did you get us any presents?"

Caleb smiles, his eyes already shut. "Uh huh… They are in my suitcase. Got Hallie the cutest stuffed bunny."

Hanna "And for me?"

Caleb "You'll have to wait until you open it."

Hanna "Tell me. You know I can't handle my intrigue too well, and I'm too comfy cuddling here with you to go look in your suitcase."

Caleb "A perfume." He answers right away, knowing that Hanna won't leave him alone until he tells her anyway.

Hanna "Oh! Thanks, babe!" She says, caressing his cheek. "I'll unpack your suitcase later, I need to do the laundry."

Caleb starts coughing.

Hanna "Here, baby." She reaches out and hands him a glass of water from the coffee table. "Want me to go get you another sweet for your throat?" She asks as he takes some sips.

Caleb shakes his head, leaving the glass back on the coffee table and making himself comfortable again on her chest.

Hanna "Okay, I'll leave you alone now, I promise. Have some rest, baby." She says, going back to stroking his hair.
