"2B, look at what I found!" 9S had been rummaging through the various boxes at the camp, trying to help Jackass keep some kind of order.
He had been closed inside their room the whole day, 2B quietly sat on her bed watching him, and listening to the soft sounds of the rain outside.
One of the rarest occurrences on this planet where usually the sun never stopped shining.
And a welcome change.
He came to her with some kind of long stick thing, with some kind of cloth wrapped around it.
"It's an umbrella." he explained, excitedly going over as to how humans used it as a repair for when it rained.
Much like today.
"Would you like to see if it still works?" to be fair, sitting under the rain always intrigued 2B…
So she nodded.
With a huge smile, 9S took her hand and dragged her outside, before tinkering with the umbrella, to see if the mechanism still worked.
Took a bit of convincing, as the item was old, but eventually it opened, allowing the two androids to stand under it without getting wet and cold.
Due to the rain, they were alone outside the camp, no one in sight.
"It's kind of romantic." he commented, then turned towards her. "You know what else is romantic?"
He didn't wait for an answer, his was a rhetorical question, he was going to show her regardless.
Standing on his tiptoes 9S left a kiss on her lips, as the rain fell around them.
He was right, this was romantic.
So when he parted from her, she did the same.
No one but the rain would know.
