Chapter 68 Dinner Talk

Disclaimer: I don't own anything this is just a story for fun.

The rest of the fights went on, but nothing as violent or underhanded as Nightmerica pulling out a hidden knife happened during the rest of the fights. Aragon was a bit disappointed by this. Soon the fighting was over and a great banquet was held at the castle offering everyone a feast. Sam was a invited to attend a private dinner Aragon and Dora, along with a few other VIP guest. Aragon sat at the head of the table with Dora on his left and Sam on his right. Food was brought in by servants and everyone began to help themselves. Sam helped herself to a salad and watched Aragon eat a steak of some kind. She ate a few bites before she spoke.

"So Aragon what is your overall opinion on the Empire and the Rebels."

"My opinion you ask? Well my dear I highly respect and support the Empire. A good old fashioned monarchy is what this galaxy needs to keep things in order. Draga used to be an uncivilized planet in chaos, until the first monarch was established and my family has been running things smoothly on this planet for the past thousand years or so. The Emperor probably got the idea of an Empire from us and several other monarchies. The Empire respects my rule of this world and supports us. Only the strong should be allowed to lead the masses." Said Aragon.

"And the Rebels?" Asked Sam.

"A bunch of riffraff made out of peasants, nobodies, criminals, and terrorist. The worst and most unpleasant of society. The Rebels bring nothing but chaos and disorder wherever they go, under the guise of freedom and justice. Could you imagine if they succeed in taking down the Empire? It would lead to complete anarchy! They would probably have all the monarchs and governors killed or thrown in prison and have them all replaced with their own members, so they could rule everything. It would be a disaster! I'll tell you this, I will sleep soundly at night once the Empire hunts down every last Rebel agent and ends them! The galaxy will be a much better place without them." Said Aragon as he dabbed at his lips with a napkin.

Sam was a bit taken aback by Aragon's words. A few of the other guest seemed to agree with Aragon. It was then that Dora spoke up.

"Pardon me brother, but I must disagree. We know little about the Rebels and what we do know mainly comes from propaganda from the Empire. I've done a little bit of digging of my own and found some suspicious things about the Empire. Like for example a couple of innocent people were illegal being held in a prison by officers of the Empire. I know the Empire claims that the imprisonment was done by rogue officials, but I don't believe them. There's also the fact that a couple of Jedi are working with the Rebels and the Jedi are supposed to be the protectors of the innocent. I know the Empire said they betrayed everyone, but I find that a bit hard to believe, since I remember grandfather telling us stories about the Jedi and how he was rescued by one. Some things just don't add up." Said Dora.

"Oh isn't that cute, you did a bit of research and now you think you know best sister. But you are very very wrong! I know what's what! I have good connections to the Empire and I have on good authority that the Rebels are nothing but trouble! The Jedi did betray the galaxy! And it was rogue officers that held those people prisoners! You are a princess and your only duty is to serve under me and help produce heirs, not look into things that are obviously beyond your comprehension!" Said Aragon glaring at Dora.

"Yes...brother. My apologies." Said Dora as she bowed her head.

"Good. Now if any Rebels were ever caught here, I would have them publicly humiliated and executed to send a message to their kind." Said Aragon as he stabbed his steak with his knife.

Sam gave Dora a sympathetic look and cast a quick glare at Aragon, who didn't seem to notice. The dinner ended a little later and everyone went their separate ways.

To be continued.
