Chapter 122 Hunting 2

Over at Goza City, Maddie was gearing up in her room at FentonWorks to go rescue Danny and Valerie. It had been a few hours since Maddie had heard anything from her son and she had tried to contact him through his communicator and then the Force and Danny didn't respond to either, which was very troubling. Maddie had contacted Tucker and Crash to see if they knew anything about Danny's whereabouts. They told her that Danny had gone on a mission with Valerie to rescue some political prisoners from a small Imperial transport team, but neither of them had reported in or turned up at the Tempest. Tucker had tried to contact them with his communicator, but neither Danny or Valerie responded.
Maddie feared that her son and Valerie had been captured by the Empire and had contacted Sam asking her to use her power and contacts to see if she could dig anything up. Hours later Sam called back in and told Maddie that some disturbing information about Danny and Maddie had just come in from an odd, but fairly reliable source.
"Danny and Valerie have been captured by a criminal syndicate ran by Hotep Ra and have been taken to a private island. There's apparently some kind of insane hunt with bounty hunters and criminals and Danny and Valerie are the prey of the hunt." Said Sam.
"This is insane! We need to save them!" Said Maddie.
"I'm already assembling a assault team to back you up. They'll be ready soon. I'm sending the island's coordinates to you and Tucker." Said Sam.
"Thank you." Said Maddie before ending the call.
Maddie finished gearing up and she headed to the hanger, where the Tempest was and met up with Tucker and Wulf. They loaded up on the Tempest and took off towards the island. Along the way they were joined up by three armored freighters packed full of Rebel fighters ready to fight.
Back on the island, Danny and Valerie continued to make their way through the jungle trying to find and reclaim their gear and avoid the hunters. All seemed quiet and good, but then Danny sensed a presence nearby and grabbed Valerie pulling her to the ground. A second later there was a whistling sound followed by a thunk as a sharp metal disk hit a tree by the two Rebels and became imbedded in it.
"Darn I missed!" Yelled a voice a few yards away.
Danny and Valerie turned to see Britney Britney in her Platinum Princess gear.
"Britney Britney?" Asked Valerie.
"I thought you were in jail after you tried to kill Ember at the music awards." Said Danny.
"I was, but I still had plenty of loyal fans that helped me break out. Now I'm here to get some revenge and claim the bounty on your heads. After that's done I'll snuff Ember out and start my big music comeback as the Platinum Princess!" Said Britney Britney as she fired some more disks at Danny and Valerie.
The two Rebels jumped out of the way of the disks and Valerie fired a few stun blast from her blaster at the mad pop star, but she managed to dodge out of the way and prepared to fire more disks. Danny stuck his head at Britney Britney and used a Force push to slam her against a rock. Valerie shot Britney Britney with a stun blast and she fell to the ground.
"Well that's another one down." Said Valerie feeling confident that the danger was over.
Britney Britney let out a mad scream as she shot to her feet and tried to attack. Both Danny and Valerie let out startled screams and Valerie shot Britney Britney again with a stun blast and she fell to the ground again.
"Well that was freaky." Said Danny.
"Yeah, but that should do her in. Might as well help ourselves to her gear." Said Valerie as she lead Danny over to Britney Britney.
Valerie reached down to pull the disks shooting gauntlets off Britney Britney's arms, when the pop star's hands grabbed hers! Valerie yelled in surprise and blasted Britney Britney again making her go limp. After a few seconds of recovering Valerie removed the gauntlets to add to her and Danny's arsenal. As a safety measure Danny cut down some vines with his knife and Valerie used them to tie up Britney Britney.
"So we got more weapons. Now what?" Said Danny.
"We may not have the key, but I think I can use this disk shooter to cut the chain connecting us." Said Valerie.
"Well at least that will improve our situation." Said Danny.
They stretched the chain out and Valerie took careful aim and fired. The disk flew out and cut through the chain with ease.
"That's better. Now we can move freely." Said Danny.
At that moment a Yugopotamian bounty hunter named Steve arrived on the scene and pointed a very large and nasty blaster at Danny and Valerie.
"Yes! I'm totally going to win this hunt!" Laughed Steve.
Valerie noticed some flowers growing on a tree above Steve's head and fired a disk up at them.
"You missed me!" Laughed Steve.
"Nope." Said Valerie as the flowers fell and landed on Steve.
Steve let out a shrilled scream as he dropped his blaster and battered the flowers off his body with his tentacles. It took Steve a few seconds to get the flowers off of himself and he soon realized he made a terrible mistake. Valerie shot Steve with a stun blast before he could recover his weapon and he fell to the ground unconscious. Danny looked at Valerie with confusion.
"Yugopotamians are weak and fearful of anything cute." Explained Valerie.
"You learn something new everyday." Said Danny.
"Like your location." Said Doombringer as she stepped out from behind a rock holding an axe and blaster.
"You think you can take use?" Asked Valerie.
"Oh not alone, but I won't be alone for long!" Said Doombringer as she pointed the blaster into the air and fired.
Instead of a laser flying out of the blaster a flare shot up instead.
"Crap!" Yelled Valerie as she fired a stun blast at Doombringer, but she dodged out of the way.
The sound of running and shouting could be heard from the surrounding jungle. Several hunters were closing in on Danny and Valerie's location.
"We got to run!" Said Danny.
"Fine." Grumbled Valerie as they took off running.
Doombringer laughed as she chased after the Rebels calling out to the other hunters.
In another clearing the Trinity of Doom were guarding the shackle key, when they saw the flare go up.
"Should we go after them?" Asked Nightmerica.
"No let the small fries and cannon fodder tire them out. When things settle down will either go and strike them down or wait for them to come to us." Said Terminatra.
"I'll go spy on them and I'll contact you about the situation." Said Femalien before heading into the jungle.
In another clearing Skulker waiting guarding Danny's lightsaber. On one side of the clearing there were eight unconscious and tied up bounty hunters, who had tried to setup an ambush for the Rebels, before Skulker knocked them out. They were a good warmup for the real hunt. Skulker eagerly awaited Danny and Valerie. If they survived the hunters they would be worthy prey if not Skulker would simply find a new prey to pursue. The prey's skills would decide their fate.
