Chapter 148 Clones

The Strife approached planet Taka's orbit and stopped. A few shuttles exited the large ship and headed down to the planet's surface. The shuttles flew until they reached the large structure that severed as Technus's base and cloning lab. They landed on a platform as Technus came to greet the new arrivals along with Spectra, Bertrand, some BX commando droids, and a squad of Stormtroopers. Dark Laser got out of the lead shuttle along with a few of his own troops who exited the other shuttles. The two groups faced each other.
"Dark Laser, welcome to my lab, we've been expecting you. Did you bring the artifacts?" Said Technus.
"I did." Said Dark Laser presenting a small metal case that he opened to show the crown and ring.
"Excellent. Now allow me to show you around the place." Said Technus.
"What about the clone body that will serve as Pariah Dark's host?" Asked Dark Laser.
"It's almost fully developed and ready, though it'll take at least a day or so to finish up the final preparations. This is a delicate task, but I'm confident that the body will be the perfect vessel for Pariah Dark to inhabit once the crown and ring are placed on the body." Said Technus.
"Good." Said Dark Laser as he closed the case.
They all headed into the building together and Technus began to give them all a grand tour. There were nearly a hundred or so cloning vats in the facility with various clones of Danny and Wraith under growth development.
"We have come a long way since the beginning of this project. A sample of Phantom's blood was brought to me several months ago and I was tasked with creating some clones from it. The first few creatures were total disasters and were incredibly unstable. Most of the clones ended up melting into goo once they were released from their pods and one clone that was stable mutated into a dumb brute with nearly no Force skills at all. Then we had our first real success with Wraith. Admittedly she wasn't a exact clone of Phantom due to some changes in her chromosomes, but she ended up being very good with the Force and with Vlad training her she has become a very good solider. One worthy of being massed produced alongside our Phantom clones." Said Technus.
"Aren't you concerned about the clones turning against you?" Asked Dark Laser.
"We've made sure to alter the brain chemistry of the clones to make sure they our loyal to us and Vlad." Said Spectra.
Some nearby doors opened up and Vlad strolled onto the scene followed by Wraith. Dark Laser scowled at Wraith beneath his helmet, but kept calm and then he asked a simple question.
"Why was your apprentice fighting against me and my forces, when I was working on getting the ring?"
"Wraith here was acting on her own accord. She wanted to protect the innocent citizens of Goza and by doing that she made sure Fright Knight or anyone else suspected me of any wrongdoing in the attack. I have had a talk about her about doing things without my permission or say and she is very sorry for what she did. Aren't you Wraith?" Said Vlad.
"I'm sorry Lord Dark Laser." Said Wraith with a bow.
"You're forgiven." Said Dark Laser.
"Let's move on to business, shall we. Technus show us Project Dark Phantom." Said Vlad.
"Right this way." Said Technus as he lead the group to a large security door.
Technus opened the door and lead everyone into a large chamber with a single large cloning pod in the center. Inside the pod was a single Phantom clone, but it was clearly different from the others. Instead of a teenage boy the clone had the muscular body of man in his 20s or 30s with a white goatee and was wearing a black bodysuit.
Technus and the others gathered around the pod to examine and get a closer look of Project Dark Phantom. Vlad and Dark Laser were pleased by what they saw, while Wraith was a little creeped out by it. In fact Wraith was creeped out by the whole facility and all the clones she saw being grown, which was a little weird since this was the place Wraith was created. There was just something unsettling about seeing various copies of yourself and of the being you had been created from.
"Excellent work Technus, Pariah Dark will be very pleased by this body." Said Vlad.
"I aim to please and push the limits of science." Said Technus.
"With Pariah Dark and all the clones you have created, we will have a army like no other." Said Dark Laser.
"Once we convince the local high ranked Imperial Officers in the Amitrax System along with the local government officials to side with us the Amitrax System will be ours, then we can go after the rest of the galaxy. The Emperor and Vader will fall to us and a new galactic order will be born." Said Vlad.
"What about those who would oppose us?" Asked Wraith.
"We will either kill them or enslave them." Said Vlad simply.
"Oh..." Said Wraith.
Wraith would have normally been excited for her master and his grand plan, but she didn't really like the idea of killing on a mass scale, especially those who simply disagreed with ones ideals. She looked at Project Dark Phantom and shuddered at the thought of what this new clone could do once the essence of Pariah Dark was inside it.
