Welcome back to Ashes of Midnight. Last time, Cynder finally awoke, days after the encounter with Fallen Venom, and conversed with Caretaker about the whole situation, including how she saw that the corruption of Lilith could possibly be undone. The two still aren't getting along apparently. And as of right now, Cynder's just tired of getting nowhere and while everybody is discussing how things are going wrong, she decides to just take charge of the whole thing away from Caretaker. Caretaker strangely offered no objections, so maybe she's curious to see this shake down just like the rest of us are. So, what awaits now that the Terror of the Skies is in charge? Read on to discover...

(Our scene resumes in The Forge, where Cynder, Doctor Strange and Iron Man are working on something)

Iron Man: (Holding up a red vial of black fluid) Here we go, one Symbiote Sampler, hot off the demonic presses.

Cynder: Okay, not honestly what I was expecting.

Doctor Strange: Nor what I was thinking. I for one am going nowhere near that thing.

Iron Man: Don't tell me the doctor is afraid of a little needle.

Doctor Strange: I know what needles are, and that is certainly not one. And definitely not a little one.

Iron Man: You say tomato, I say gamma infused, arc reactor powered laser tomato.

Cynder: And you're sure this'll work?

Iron Man: About 50/50 honestly.

Cynder: It'll have to do. Let's just hope the others have got Venom's location on lock. This thing's useless if we can't find him.

(With the sampler in hand, the scene transitions to the Mirror Table, where Caretaker is looking at Fallen Venom's whereabouts as everybody walks in)

Caretaker: There it is. The creature.

Cynder: That creature has a name. It's Eddie Brock, and Venom. Okay they technically have two names, but you get the point.

Captain Marvel: Not to mention the entire HYDRA offensive.

Doctor Strange: Undoubtedly stealing more of the priceless and did I mention extremely powerful artifacts within the Sanctum.

Captain America: I'm not so sure. It looks more like they're fortifying a position. (Points out a location) Here.

Cynder: Steve's right. Those're battle lines, not smuggling routes. They're through getting stuff out, now they're trying to stop others from getting in.

Iron Man: This just raises the question. How're we going to get close enough to get a sample of the Symbiote? Because to my admittedly non-military eyes, it's not looking too possible at this rate.

Spider-Man: That's where I come in.

(And sure enough, there's Spider-Man at the back of the room, fully suited up)

Spider-Man: Venom problem? No problem.

Iron Man: Got some serious range on that Spidey sense, kid.

Blade: More like he got my text.

Spider-Man: Either way, I'm your guy. Come on team, I've got a plan. (Looks out and realizes nobody but Cynder and Blade are taking him seriously) Probably should have practiced that in the mirror more.

Iron Man: Sorry kid, can't risk a field trip on this one.

Blade: Last I checked, he's got the most experience fighting Venom.

Caretaker: Still, I hesitate to let the child take charge.

Cynder: I'll be the judge of that. You guys underestimate how cunning Spidey can be. We're giving him a chance.

Nico Minoru: Besides, you don't see any of us muscling in when the Mandarin's in town.

Iron Man: I get the point, no need to sell through the close. (Looks back to Spider-Man So what's the plan, ki... I mean, Spider-Man?

(But just as Spider-Man is about to explain his idea, now appearing more triumphant than ever, the scene ends for today.)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for today. Next time, Spidey's plan gets put into action. And it looks like Cynder taking charge has done well for the group so far. They've already got their next move in terms of stopping Lilith, Malefor, and their forces. And she's even making sure the youth heroes are getting their chance to shine against their more experienced counterparts.
