Mal's Prov
I was walking up to the castle. "Lady Mal!" Coggsworth said, bowing respectfully. "His Majesty wasn't expecting you until later! Is everything alright?" "No..." I said softly. "Well, I'll let him know you'd like to see him immediately. But please, Make yourself at home, in the meantime." "Thank you... Are Belle and Adam home?" "Adam's in the west wing, but Belle's in the library." I smiled a little before going to the library, when I walked in, Belle was sitting in the window seat (For reference, like a little cubby for reading.) oblivious that I was there. "Belle...?" I said softly, a little too quietly, I wasn't sure if she even heard me, but she did, because she jumped half a foot in the air. "I'm sorry..." I said as I felt tears in my eyes, which caused her to rush over, and wrap her arms around me. "Awe sweetie, It's okay. I was just really into my book and didn't hear you come in. Are you alright?"
"No... I just... Really need to talk to someone..." Belle led me to the window seat and sat across from me. "Talk to me, sweetie." She replied. "I think I'm pregnant..." "What? Have you told Ben?" I said "I haven't... I just realized I was late... and I've been feeling so sick..." I hugged my knees to my chest. "It wasn't something I wanted to say over text... and ... He's in meetings all day..." Belle pulled me to her arms. "Awe sweetie. How about, we go on a girls day and we can even stop at the urgent care clinic in town if you want?" "Really?" She nodded, and we left. We spent almost all afternoon shopping, and even stopped at the urgent care clinic, before returning to the castle. "Hey Coggsworth? Is Mal back yet?" Ben's voice asked, coming to the door, as we entered. "Mal." He said coming over, hugging me tight. "Thanks mom." He whispered, as I mouthed a thank you. "Why don't we go out to dinner?" Ben asked me. "If it's alright... Can we have a quiet night in? I'm not really feeling up to a night out..." Ben said "Sure honey, whatever you want." He kissed my head, and said "why don't you go to my room and lay down? You do look pale..." I said "Thanks." I kissed his cheek before going to his room, toying with my engagement ring, Ben proposed a few weeks ago, and we had been planning our wedding since.
After a few minutes, Ben returned to his room, sitting beside me. "What's on your mind? You're never like this..." "I'm... I'm pregnant..." I whispered. "Wait really?" He asked, placing a hand on my cheek. "Yes... Mom and I went to the urgent care clinic you had made, before we came home... Ben I'm so sorry!" Ben said "Mal, have you lost your mind?! Why are you apologizing?!" I said "Aren't you..." He shook his head. "I'm overjoyed, truly, my love. " "I want to move up the wedding..." I whispered. "I can have Fairy Godmother, and anyone else you wish, within an hour." I said "I want to do it in the morning." Ben nodded, and said "As you wish, my love."
Ben: Hey FG, can you meet us at the castle at say 10 tomorrow? Can you bring Jane with you?
Ben: Hey Evie, Jay, Carlos, meet us at the castle at 10 tomorrow. Evie, you can bring Doug, Jay, whoever you want, and Carlos, I already asked FG, to bring Jane.
Ben: Evie, bring Mal's Dress.
FG: You got it. Ay special reason?
Evie: You got it Ben!
Evie, Jay, and Carlos: We'll be there.
Jay: Hey Lonnie, Can you meet me at the castle tomorrow at 10?
Evie: Hey Doug, Meet me at the castle tomorrow at 10. Not my castle. Mal and Bens.
Lonnie: Of Course Babe!
Doug: I'll be there!
I smiled, at Ben, as there was a knock, before Coggsworth opened the door. "Dinner is served in the main dining room, You majesties." Ben looked to me, as I just shook my head. "Coggsworth, would you mind bringing a couple plates in here for me, and Mal? She's not feeling well..." "Of Course, your majesty Lumiere will bring it right away!" he rushed off to give the orders, while Ben kissed my head. After dinner we curled up in each others arms and drifted to sleep.
In the morning, I woke nestled in Ben's sheets, but Ben wasn't next to me. "Mal! Rise and shine!" Evie called as she entered. She helped me get ready before Belle came in. "We're ready." I said "I'm nauseous..." I darted to the bathroom, being followed by Belle. "ugh..." I leaned against the tub. "Mal? Do you need Ben?" I nodded but stood slowly before rinsing my mouth out. "Please tell me this gets easier..." "It does. I promise." She gave me a hug before we went to the hall. "If you need anything text me red rose, otherwise we'll see you down there." I nodded, as I started down the aisle. I felt weak and lightheaded. Ben frowned, meeting me towards, the end wrapping an arm around my waist. "I'm better... Thanks..." I whispered, as we stood with FG. "Mal, I've loved you even before we met. I love you, for you brains, and pure heart. You're the reason Auradon's safe, the reason I'm safe. I'm here before you, ready to give you everything I have. My heart, My kingdom, and above all my heart. You are my world, and I promise you will always come first, if you need me, at any point I'll be there in a heartbeat. I love you. Always and forever."
I must've started crying, with joy because he gently wiped my tears. "Ben, from the moment I stepped into Auradon, you've had me completely under you spell, I know our relationship has been a bit rough, but it proved more, how much I love you, and our people. I know I'm not too good with words and certain things, but you show me, it's okay. I'm here today, ready to be yours fully and completely. You give me a strength when I feel like I have none. We're a stronger team, and we can keep the kingdom safe as long as we work together. I love you forever, and always." Ben had tears in his eyes, before Jay and Evie brought the rings over, Ben slid mine on as I slid his on. "Ben, do you take Mal to be your wife, to love and cherish forever?" FG asked. "I do." Ben stated as he began staring me in the eyes.
"Do you Mal, take Ben to be your husband to love and cherish forever?" FG asked me. "I do." I said, as Ben moved his hand to wipe the fresh tears. "Then I now pronounce you husband and Wife..." Ben pulled me close and kissed me, deeply. "I love you, Mal Bertha Adamsin." He whispered, as we broke apart. "And I love you Ben Florian Adamsin." I whispered, as we started to walk back up the aisle, which is when I dropped to the ground, despite Ben being right there, "Whoa." Ben said dropping beside me quick enough to catch my head. "I'm going to take her to the hospital." Ben's voice, as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Update us soon. The Party part will be in a month, the same date as your original wedding date." Belle said, as Ben lifted me up, and cradled me in his arms. "Thanks Guys. I'll update you soon." He brought me to the er, where he sat me in the wheelchair. "Hi, my fiancee needs to be seen right now... She's collapsed." The nurse said "What's the name?" "Mine or hers?" The nurse looked up, and said "Your Maj..." Ben made a motion to shush. "Please. Keep quiet... Do you have a private room too?" THe nurse said "Of course, come with me this way!" She led us to a room, where I must've passed out.
When I came too, Ben was sitting beside me. "Hey you're okay, Mal. You're alright." He caressed my hair. "The baby?" I asked. "The baby's okay too." He promised. "Then why did I get weak, collapse and pass out?" Ben said "We're still running tests, to see if we can figure it out. I'm fighting for every test and every single treatment, for both of you." "But..." I started, which is when Ben said "No Buts. You are my wife, and this little angel..." He placed a hand on my belly, before continuing "...Is our child. You both deserve the best, and I don't care about the cost. Your health and the baby's are top priority."
I smiled, and said "Thank you. Me and the baby are lucky to have you." He smiled, gently kissing my head. "Just relax." The doctor came in, and said "I'm back. Sorry it took so long, your majesty. Ahhh I see her majesty is wide awake. Mal, how are you feeling?" I said "I'm okay... I guess..." "Are you feeling dizzy, or lightheaded?" I leaned on Ben, nodding. "Are we any closer to figuring out why?" "Actually yes. I believe we have figured out why, and it does mean her pregnancy will be high risk..." I looked up to Ben, who said "What's going on?" The doctor said "You might want to sit down." Ben sat beside me, as the doctor said "Alright, Well, given all the tests we ran, we have concluded, that it was due to her blood pressure being low, which could be due to a lot of things... Have you been doing a lot of exercising?" I shook my head. "Have you been drinking more? Are you anemic? How about noticing any significant loss of blood?" I said "I haven't been able to keep a lot down, but I've increased fluids. Not Anemic, that I know of anyways, no significant blood loss..." The doctor said "Nurse, bring me her blood panel!" I leaned against Ben. "Here doctor." He glanced at it, before looking to me. "Okay, so I have a diagnosis... You are anemic..." "What can cause that?" Ben asked, Okay maybe ask was saying it nicely, he practically demanded. "Well, the most often cause is low iron, which is most likely because the baby is taking the iron from Mal."
"Well what are we going to do?" "Well, I'm going to recommend a few things. 1 is Iron supplements, more meats, and daily monitoring of blood pressure... But we're going to keep her overnight, and we're going to give her iv iron, and more fluids." "What about the morning sickness?" "I can provide some antinausea medicine for that as well." The doctor said, as I looked up to Ben for guidance. "Of course Doctor, whatever you think is best." Ben replied without a moment's hesitation.
Ben: Hey, update on Mal... She's been diagnosed with anemia and low blood pressure, so we're going take Iron supplements, and more meat, as well as daily blood pressure checks, possibly multiple times a day. We're here overnight, for monitoring.
Ben: Mom, do you have a blood pressure cuff? If not, can you get one for us, and a fetal doppler?
Belle: I'm on it, sweetie. Your dad is taking over for you, until Mal gets released. I'll let the staff know about the more meats. Don't worry, we've got your back.
Evie, Doug, Jane, Carlos, Lonnie, and Jay: Oh my goblins! Is she okay? How is she coping?
Adam: No worries, son. I'm taking care of the kingdom! Just focus on Mal and the baby.
Ben: Thanks Mom. You're the BEST
Ben: She'll be just fine and so will the baby, I hope. I think she's just feeling like out of control, of what's happening. This just makes her pregnancy more high risk. But we know what to look for now, so we can be prepared.
Ben: Thanks Dad. I owe you.
I cuddled into him, before falling asleep in his arms. I slept on and off throughout the night. In the morning, I woke up in his arms. "Morning honey." I whispered, as he leaned down, kissing my head. "Good morning, my darling. Doctor said as soon as you eat something, he can discharge, and he also said you were about 4 months along... Did you not get any symptoms?" I said "Good... I wanna go home. Did you get any sleep last night? No I didn't... I just chucked it up to stress..." He shook his head. "Not really. But don't worry, you did, and that's the important thing. They can mimic the symptoms." After I ate, we went home to the castle, where Ben helped me into bed, before dropping beside me on it. "I'm sorry love, I'm sooooo tired..." "It's okay, get some rest."
Ben: Hey mom, hey dad. We're home, but we didn't get much sleep, at least I didn't so we're hoping to try and get some more rest...
Adam: No worries, son. You two rest up, and don't think to the kingdom.
Ben: Thanks Dad.
Mom: Good! I'll bring by the stuff in a little bit, after you both get some rest.
Ben: Thanks Mom.
I curled into Ben's arms, as I turned on a movie, only for us to fall asleep against each other. When we woke, I had a bunch of texts.
Evie: MAL! I need a girl meeting! LIKE NOW!
The other texts were a variation, of that.
Mal: Calm down E. I just got home and fell asleep... Did you check with Jane and Lonnie? We can either have a girls night here or at any one of the other houses.
Evie: Any chance you feel well enough to go to Northern Wei tonight with Jane and I?
I looked to Ben who had woken up. "What's up?" he asked, seeing my pouty eyes. "Evie needs me... A girls night... I know we just got released from the hospital... But if I bring all the medicines, and blood pressure cuff can I go to Northern Wei with the girls?" Ben said "Of course honey... But you have to be back, before tomorrow at 10... Remember? You and I have to go to the Isle, remember? Get the next group." I said "I know... Umm about that... I know you said you wanted only 4... But..." "What's up?" "One second. Let me tell Evie, I'm going... Then I'll ask..."
Mal: I'll be there! Tell me when you are on your way!
I turned to Ben, as I said "I want Shane to come... She won't be any extra trouble! I promise! She's had it worse than any of us... She's being abused, and in more ways than I care to explain. Please..." I couldn't understand why I was crying or even begging. "How do you know this?" he asked. "I protected her for what seems like forever, when I lived back there... Ben Please..." Ben said "Hey stop. She is more than welcome. Now, I'm going to fix a few things for you to take with you. You just focus on picking out some comfy clothes. I'll tell Sanderson to gas up the limo."
