Author's Note: So this fic has over 1000 views which is insane to me. Especially since I am still having problems with notifications. I'm still not able to find the story without actually searching for it. But I don't really know what to do about it at this point. There are so many great Mondler fics out there I have had so much fun reading them. Let me know if you're interested in the discord server.

November 2009

"Come on!" Monica said as she rushed out the door. "We're gonna be late for school if we don't leave right now!" It had been a rough morning. Monica slept through her alarm, Jack couldn't find his shoes, and Erica's hair was a tangled mess. She spent most of the morning searching for Jack's shoes before she finally found them underneath the couch while Chandler had to very carefully detangle Erica's hair. Monica then wolfed down a granola bar while trying to help the twins get dressed so that Chandler could head off to work. After everyone was finally ready, Monica rushed to the garage…and saw Chandler on all fours with his head underneath the car.

"Chandler!" Monica shouted. "We don't have time for your weird jokes right now!"

"What? Ow!" Chandler shouted as he lifted his head, accidentally hitting it against the bottom of the door. "I think there's something underneath the car."

"Something? What do you mean?"

"I don't know. I thought it was a cat at first."

"I wanna see it!" Erica shouted.

"Me too!" Jack agreed.

"Got it!" Chandler said as he reached underneath the car and then slowly stood up, holding a gray rabbit in his arms.

"A BUNNY!" Erica screamed. "MOM, MOM PLEASE CAN WE KEEP IT!"

"We don't have time for this right now!" Monica said. "You two get in the car and when I get back then we'll try to figure this out."

Both Jack and Erica complained but got into their car seats. Monica watched as Chandler was holding the rabbit like a baby.

"What should I do with it?" he asked.

"I don't know, put it in the backyard," Monica said.

"Mon I think this is someone's pet. There's no way a wild bunny would let me hold it like this."

"We can't keep it in our house. How did it even get in the garage?"

"I guess he snuck in last night when I got back from work. Just get the kids to school. I'll call in and say that I'll be working from home today."

Monica drove the kids to school as quickly as possible. There was no way her children were going to be late. After she dropped them off she headed back home, trying to figure out what they were going to do with a bunny.

As she walked in the door she saw Chandler attempting to put together a small cage.

"Where did you get that from?" she asked.

"I asked around in the neighborhood if anyone had lost a bunny. Everyone said no but the Andersons said that they used to have a guinea pig and said that I could use the cage. I bet that monster probably ate it."

"Chandler," Monica huffed. "She's a sweet dog."

Back when they first moved into this house, the Andersons who lived across the street had introduced themselves and invited Chandler and Monica over to their house. They were a nice couple and even had a son a few years older than Jack and Erica. Monica had thought that everything was going well until their one hundred pound St. Bernard came crashing into the room, knocking Chandler to the ground, and slobbering all over him.

"Ahh!" Chandler had screamed. "Oh god, it's killing me!"

"Oh no!" Mrs. Anderson had said. "No that's just Bubbles! She wouldn't hurt a fly!"

"Oh she does that to everyone she likes!" Mr. Anderson had laughed.

Monica had dragged Chandler back to his feet, visibly shaking and covered in drool.

"That 'dog' nearly killed me!" Chandler exclaimed as he continued putting the cage together.

"Where is the bunny now?"

"I locked it in the bathroom."

"What are we going to do?"

"I don't know," Chandler said. "But I'll take some pictures and make some signs. Hopefully we can find Bugs' owner."

"Who is Bugs?"

"Bugs Bunny!" Chandler said.

"Really Chandler?"

"Well we have to call him something."

"Oh my god!"

After putting the cage together, Chandler made a few "Found Rabbit" posters and started posting them all over the neighborhood. Monica looked into rabbit diets online to figure out what she would need to buy from the pet store. It wasn't that she was against getting a pet, but now wasn't the right time. They still needed to finish the nursery. And Thanksgiving was next week. And if Chandler was right and this was someone's pet, then she wanted to find Bugs' family. Oh great, she was already using the stupid name.

Jack and Erica raced through the door after school was over, demanding that they each get to hold the bunny. They both had already told their entire class that their dad had found a rabbit underneath his car.

"I'm not sure what it says about them that they were able to keep the baby a secret for so long but immediately told everyone about the rabbit." Chandler said.

"In their defense, we never said they couldn't tell anyone about the rabbit." Monica replied.

"Alright but you have to be really gentle with him," Chandler said as he turned to the twins. "We'll put him on the floor first so he can get comfortable."

"If he poops on the carpet, you're picking it up," Monica said to him.

"Alright," Chandler said as he took the rabbit out of the cage and placed him on the floor. "Now we don't want to scare him so you have to be vewy, vewy quiet." Monica rolled her eyes at his bad Elmer Fudd impression.

"Why are you talking like that?" Jack asked.

"What?" Chandler looked offended. "It's Elmer Fudd. Ya know, it's wabbit season." The two kids just stared at him confused. "Have-have you two never seen Looney Tunes?"

The twins just shook their heads.

"I can't believe this," Chandler said. "My own children don't know Looney Tunes. Well we are changing that this weekend."

"Chandler," Monica said. "You three are not spending the entire weekend watching a cartoon."

"This is for educational purposes, Mon!" Chandler said.

"We're spending the weekend making sure we find this little guy's family. I'm sure they're worried sick right now."

"But what if he doesn't have a family," Erica said. "Maybe he could stay with us!"

"Won't he be lonely?" Jack asked.

"Then we'll have to get him a friend." Erica said. "Maybe Mommy and Daddy will finally let us have a pet duck!"

"We are not getting a duck," Monica rubbed her forehead. "Ducks are too messy."

"But Daddy and Uncle Joey had a duck," Erica explained.

"And a chicken!" Jack added.

"And they were very, very messy." Monica said.

"Are you talking about the duck and the chick or Me and Joey?" Chandler asked.

"All of you!" Monica answered.

"I do kinda miss the duck," Chandler said. "If we did get a duck, we could name him Daffy."

"Who?" Erica asked.

Chandler just buried his head into his hands.

The next few days passed in a blur. Monica would bring the twins to school and head to work for the morning shift. Then once her shift ended she would head back to the house. She would work on the nursery until the baby decided that it was time to eat. She would then make a quick lunch and relax on the couch. At least she would try to relax. It was difficult when there were a pair of eyes staring at her every time she tried to take a bite of food.

"You can't eat this," she said to the bunny. "You should really mostly be eating hay. I read it on the internet."

The bunny would then just stare and turn his head, confused that no one was offering him any food.

"Ugh fine, you win!" Monica relented as she stood up. "I hope you understand what I'm sacrificing for you right now. It's really starting to get hard to get off of the couch!" She slowly walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a small carrot. She cut off a few small pieces before heading back to the bunny's cage.

She slowly opened the door and placed the pieces of carrot into the cage. The bunny quickly hopped over and began eating his snack.

"I hate to admit it," Monica said as she slowly pets the rabbit's head. "You are pretty cute. But I'm getting really tired of dealing with the shavings. I'm finding little pieces everywhere!"

The bunny simply wrinkled his nose before returning to his snack.

Once Monica picked up the twins from school, they would rush to the living room so they could play with Bugs.

"Come on, Bugs!" Erica said one night. "You have to hop! Hop, hop, hop!"

Bugs very slowly followed her around the couch.

"I wanna be a bunny for Halloween!" Erica said excitedly.

"But Halloween just happened," Jack explained.

"I know that!" Erica rolled her eyes. "I mean I wanna be a bunny next Halloween!"

"You know your Daddy was a bunny for Halloween once," Monica laughed. "A bright pink bunny."

"I thought we promised to never talk about that again," Chandler said from the couch.

"Can we see pictures?" Jack asked.

"No, I burned all of those photos," Chandler said.

"Aww…" the twins complained.

"Don't worry," Monica whispered to the twins. "I'm pretty sure Aunt Rachel still has a few photos from that party." The twins giggled and then went back to playing with Bugs.

Monica heard a knock on the front door the next morning. Chandler was busy showing Jack and Erica clips or Looney Tunes on his laptop.

"So this is very important," He explained as he pointed to the screen. "In cartoons, the effects of gravity only occur when you look down." Monica rolled her eyes as she headed to the front door. When she opened the door and saw a young man with a little girl, holding tightly onto the "found bunny" flyer that Chandler had made.

"Hi," the young man said. "Our pet bunny escaped a few days ago."

"Oh, you're Bugs' owners," Monica said. "Sorry, my husband named him."

"Is he okay?" the little girl asked, her voice shaking slightly. She looked like she may be Emma's age.

"We've been worried sick about him."

"Here, why don't you two come inside," Monica said. "The weather has been pretty bad for the past couple of days."

"Thank you," the man said. "My name is Brian and this is my daughter Abby. We just moved into the neighborhood last week."

"Nice to meet you both. I'm Monica." She said as she walked into the living room and saw Chandler, Jack, and Erica all laughing as they were watching the screen. "And these three hooligans would be by husband and my two kids."

"Oh, sorry." Chandler stood up as he realized they had company. "I'm Chandler. And this is Jack and Erica."

"Shadow!" The little girl rushed towards the bunny's cage. The bunny immediately hopped over to her, clearly recognizing her voice. "I'm so glad you're okay!"

"His name is Shadow?" Erica asked. "That's such a cool name!"

"Thanks," Abby said.

"Thank you for taking care of him," Brian said. Monica could see the exhaustion on his face. "Everything had been so crazy with the move."

"Oh believe me, we know all about crazy moves," Monica said.

"Really?"

"Those two," Monica pointed to Jack and Erica. "Decided to show up the day we moved out here."

"How long have you been here in Westchester?"

"A little over five years," Monica answered. "It's been a really great place. We all really love it here."

They spent the rest of the morning talking to Brian. He was a single dad who recently had to move to New York for work. Abby was about to turn eight and wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. And somehow, during the commotion of the move, Shadow had escaped his cage and found his way to the Bings' garage.

"I'm glad he found you," Abby said. "He knew that you would take care of him."

"And you can come visit him whenever you want," Brian said to Jack and Erica. The twins said their goodbyes to Shadow and then to their new friends. Monica watched as Brian and Abby walked out the door, Abby holding Shadow close to her chest. The little guy had been on a pretty big adventure, it was nice to know that he was finally heading back home. She then headed back to the couch and spent the rest of the morning with Chandler and the twins.
