Chapter 54: Deadly Badges Pt 2
Militech has managed to blow their way into the depths of the labs under the police station to be able to steal the data. "Seems like those jarheads are there," Mina said as she had her robotic defenses safeguard the lab's secrets from Militech.
Rebecca, Rebecka, Cortez, and Stella reach the lower levels to hear gunfire in the distance. "Seems like Militech blasts their way inside," Klunk said scanning the area to see Militech troops fighting defense robots trying to protect the labs.
"Fits them too well," Cortez said going through the hallways to be within the lab area still having that white surface making it clean yet eerie.
"Gee, let's find this keycard and get out of here," Rebecca said to go through the hallways to see mutants have appeared with several Runners moaning and screaming at them.
"Great, here too," Rebecca fires her shotgun to split the mutant in half while they shoot at the rushing monsters. The last one lunges at the group but uses his Metel revolver to blast apart its head to flop onto the floor lifelessly.
Red mixes with the clean white as the labs become a battlefield between Biotechnica's robotic forces, mutants, and Militech troops.
"What a mess," Rebecka said as they kept going to go into a warehouse to see a ton of robots holding off the Militech soldiers including War Commandos and Dragoons.
"They got the big guns too," Rebecca said as they have several powerful units aiding Militech pushing into the labs under the police station.
"Let them kill themselves. We need to get the keycard and get out of here," Cortez said as the four kept going to find a group of Militech trying to stop them.
"The traitor, kill him and his little friends," the sergeant ordered as they fired at their position.
"Time to burn them away," Stella triggers her infamous quickhack combo Congestion/ Overheat to see Stella positioning the soldiers with their cyberware leaking toxins into their bodies making them vomit onto the floor. Then she triggers the toxics with the cyberware overheating triggering a chain of explosions being burned to a crisp.
"Nasty," Becka said as she used her Sandy to get up close to use her arm blades to slice and dice into enemy troops. She kicks one into a wall breaking his neck on contact as she wields her Marshall to blast a few shotgun buckshots into the heads of the soldiers wiping them out.
Rebecca uses her M31A5 to lob mini grenades to blow apart groups of enemies while following up with bursts of fire to slice into their heads and chests. Rebecca pushes forward to let the soldiers draw their fire on her while her skin weave is blocking several shots not doing any real damage.
She rolls up to a crate to knock it into a soldier to crack her skull and she launches a super-powered punch to send the soldier flying through the hallways to rash into a wall leaving a small dent behind.
Stella and Cortez are stunning enemies while Rebecka and Rebecca get up close to tear into the soldiers using their close-range attacks to destroy them. Rebecca grabs the last soldier and shoves her into a wall to crush their skull turning it into mash.
"Time to keep going," Rebecca said as she dashed forward to slam through a door to use her shotgun to split a Runner in half.
A Leaper screams at them to lunge at them but Rebecka uses her Sandy to increase her reflexes and speed to kick the attacking monster away. She fires her pocket shotgun sidearm to fire a slug that pierces through its skull.
A Whitehead appears to be tanking a lot of shots to rush towards Stella to grab onto her trying to bite her neck. "Get off of her you freak," Rebecca fires several shots from her Blood Bonds to knock it off of Stella.
"Thanks, Becca," Stella said to feel happy that thing was off of her.
"It's what friends do. Eat acid jerkass," she lobs a mini acid grenade to cover the beastly humanoid. It's burning its body to prevent its crazy healing factor from acting up to clip several rounds into its head to put it down. "Acid does do the trick," Rebecca said as it took way fewer rounds to put the Whitehead down.
"Indeed," Rebecka said as they found a door which was sealed but Stella and Cortez could see there was nothing to hack here.
"Okay, this is analog. Using a lever to unlock from the other side," Stella said.
"Well, we need to unlock from behind," Cortez said as he looked over to see a vent above them. "Rebecca, you can slip through and unlock it from behind. Blowing it up would risk collapsing the hallway making it harder to move around," he said.
"Of course, give me a boost," she said as Cortez let Rebecca step on his hands to lift her into the vent to fit inside until she needed a minute. "Oh shit, my big booty is getting in the way. I need to squeeze through," she said as Cortez could see her ample bottom sticking out with her legs moving around.
"I can see the full moon down here," he joked lightly seeing her round bottom hugging her hot pants.
"Oh baby, let me get in position," she said to slip inside to crawl inside to go onto the other side to see a Brute there to scream at her. "Oh shit," she said to dodge incoming blows from the large monster.
"Hey, what is going on?" Cortez asked on the radio.
"Dealing with a Brute, I will be there in a minute," Rebecca said as she deflected the large fists with her own hands. She draws her pistol to fire into its eyes to blind it as Klunk boosts her into the air. She delivers a powerful punch on its head to stun it. She powers up her gorilla arm to deliver a supercharged punch which launches the big mutant across the hallway.
She fires a few slugs which tear into its chest with blood spread on the walls. The Brute doesn't care about its wounds to rush forward trying to smash her via a tackle.
"Not today big guy," she slides between the legs of the large mutant to aim Guts and fire a slug that destroys its head killing it instantly. She goes over to pull the lever to unlock the gate to let her team come through.
"Good work," Cortez praised her skills in killing the beast.
"Thanks," she pulls down the lever to block the way behind them.
"Well, more trouble to come," Klunk said to detect more enemies nearby. A LAW is pinning down Militech troops in an area with Cortez taking control of the drone to make it more effective in killing the troopers.
He sends it towards the remaining troopers to make it more. Then he triggers self-destruct to take out the rest of the wounded soldiers in a big blast.
Stella can see a War Commando backing up their group killing robots and mutants alike with their weapons. "Time to cause some chaos," Stella is going to use a Cyberpsychosis quickhack on the pilot. She completes the quickhack to make the pilot go crazy and begin to unleash her weapons on her team cutting down the soldiers.
They enter another area where Militech and Runners are killing each other. "Total melee here," Klunk said as Stella and Cortez used quickhacks to take over the turrets.
"Gee, what a mess. Prepare for Scorpius, it needs a test run," Mimi said as a mutant is within a chamber. A mighty scream echoes in the area to be unleashed and takes over the Militech troops and outsiders who don't belong there.
The groups went but they got ambushed by Militech as Cortez and Rebecca felt the floor gave out and let them fall further into the labs. "Guys," Stella said as Rebecka used her Warp Dancer to dodge and crave up the troops with her arm blades.
"Come they can handle themselves. We need to keep moving," Becka said as she was worried about them but trying to stay focused.
Rebecca wakes up to hold her head. "Damn it, some fall from that hole above. Hey babe, where are you?" she asked to look around to not see him.
"Rebecca, I am down here," Cortez said in a muttered voice as Rebecca looked down to see her plump behind planted into his face.
"Look at your favorite spot," Rebecca said lightly.
"Yep, I am in heaven with my face buried deep in your sexy ass," he said as Rebecca giggles at this.
"I bet baby," she gets off his face to help him up. "Seems like we went down far," she said to look up to see the hole plugged up by debris.
"Yeah, need to contact the others," Cortez said to get them on the radio. "Hey, girls. We are okay," he said on the radio.
"Good thing you guys are okay. The fighting is getting hot up here. We will secure the exit while you two grab the keycard," Stella said.
"Sounds like a plan. Cortez out," he said holding onto his Tech assault rifle to keep moving forward with Rebecca by his side holding onto her M31A5 combo gun.
"Gee it's quiet down here," Rebecca said as there was no gunfire being heard down here.
"Seems like you managed to get to the inner area of the lab here. We have done some great work with the prisoners here at the police station. Several dissenters who didn't agree with the company's mission were sent here to suffer under our experiments," Mimi's voice came out of the speakers.
"Damn it," Rebecca said as Mimi giggles at them.
"I got a nice surprise for you. One of our experiments is going to meet you and you will make great snacks for Scorpius," Mimi said.
"Scorpius sounds like bad news," Klunk said as he scanned the area to see there were Runners here along with other mutants. "We got company but no Militech or robotic forces are here," Klunk said.
Cortez spots a Runner to put a two-round burst into the head of the beast to knock it down. He sees more mutants and swiftly puts them down with rapid aiming and positioning to finish them off. "Oh nice," he spots a Diplomat select-fire shotgun on dead police to sling it on his back.
He collects the ammo to go into a warehouse where they are holding various experiments in containers. "What the hell is this?" Rebecca asked to see all the containers collecting the prisoners in glass tubes filled with fluid. The people were failed experiments as they looked misshapen and deformed.
"Those poor bitches were not able to take the experiments. They were crippled and unable to be useful. Oh well, too bad," Mimi said in a heartless way.
"This is fuck up," Rebecca said with disgust in her voice.
"All for the sake of progress," Mimi said smiling to herself at her handiwork getting her closer to Project Abyss's success.
"You twisted bitch, you see people like playthings," Rebecca said getting angry with her.
"Why not, every person on this island is company property and I can do what I please with them," Mimi said as Rebecca had sympathy for the twisted souls captured within the large glass containers.
"I am going to kill you myself. You're a disgusting waste of space," Rebecca said as Mimi laughed at this.
"Come at me, little shrimp. I can't wait to see the look of pain on your face when I take your life," Mimi said as they kept pushing forward to find a room where there was a terminal nearby.
"Look at this," Cortez said as Klunk got off Rebecca's back to begin plugging in to gather data for Stella.
Rebecca looked over to see the Keycard they needed. "Oh perfect, our third key and only 2 more to go," she said.
"This is interesting," Klunk said to begin pulling out files about Mimi's greatest project Abyss.
"Abyss?" Rebecca asked.
"Yes, it's quite disturbing. They are weaponizing bioelectricity within the body for offensive and defensive. Making a superhuman who would be unbeatable in combat," Klunk said as Rebecca was dumbfounded by this.
"What the fuck?" Rebecca is caught off guard by this.
"Genius, is it? This type of Bioware will be able to put Cyberware in the garbage. All those people you saw in those containers were failed test subjects for Project Abyss. It's all coming together now. I did have two successful prototypes and one of them is coming for you. Scorpius have some fun, don't play with your food too much," Mimi said with a grin on her face.
"I am detecting something big. Embrace yourselves," Klunk said as something crashed through the door to reveal a huge scorpion which is as big as a tank.
"Holy shit," Rebecca said as the big scorpion appears to let out a powerful wave of lightning to knock them away. "Fuck, my cyberware," Rebecca said feeling her arms seizing up from the electric attack.
"Like it, this bioelectricity will screw up with your systems with an EMP-like effect," Mimi said on the speakers as the tank-like creature tackles them to knock them into a huge warehouse area.
Rebecca fires her weapons to see the armored shell is bulletproof making her guns useless. She fires a mini grenade which also does nothing. "You got to be kidding me," she said as Scorpius fired beams of bioelectric energy to tear into the crates and metal containers.
"Sadly, this thing can only use bioelectric attacks. Never could use it defensively," Mimi said as Scorpius is using its stinger to try and pierce their bodies.
"Gee, we need to deal with this thing," Rebecca said as they prepared to fight the monster.
Elsewhere Stella and Rebecka are heading for exit as Rebecka is using her arm blades to slice and stab into soldiers and robots. She uses her Peacekeeper to unleash a wave of bullets to pepper enemies into submission.
"Gee, what a mess," Stella said to shock various Robots to make them explode.
"We need to cut a path for Cortez and big sis," Rebecka said as she placed headshots into incoming soldiers to build up bodies onto the floor. They go into another room filled with crates to see a new weapon she can use.
"What is this?" Stella asked.
"Tesla Coiler, electric weapon shooting balls or arcs of plasma," Rebecka slings her weapon to grab the Tesla Coiler to see the barrel crackling with lightning bolts. "This is cool," she said as she got back into the hallway to fire a ball of lightning to let the orb pass by enemies while zapping them to death reducing them into blackened bones
"Holy shit," Stella said as the lightning bolts were vaporizing the flesh off the bones of her targets.
"This is a nasty piece of work," she fires arcs of lightning which chained multiple targets together to reduce them to burned corpses.
"Got one more left," Becka unleashes the ball of lightning to fry every soldier in sight. She clicks the gun to hear it's empty. "Oh no more ammo," she said tossing the gun to see the way is cleared.
"Good, we can go to the lifts and secure it," Stella said as she targeted flying drones to blast them out of the air with smart rounds and short-circuit quickhacks wiping them out.
Back with Rebecca and Cortez are rolling out of the way of the giant scorpion to let out a big electric blast to dodge the attack. They get back crates to avoid getting shocked as the beast leaps towards them. It crashes down to unleash a wave of electricity to stun them while getting hit but its pincers send them into boxes.
"Fuck, that hurts," Rebecca said as she gets back up to see a pincer come at her. She grabs the limb to stop it in its tracks with her super strength to toss the big beast to slam it into a wall. "That shell is too tough to crack with normal weapons," she said.
"You are going to need something to pierce its shell," Klunk said as Rebecca looked up to see a large hook which has a sharp end.
"Babe, back me up," Rebecca said to jump onto the crates. Cortez activates some turrets to draw attention from them as the beast fires beams of bioelectricity to destroy the turrets with ease. The bullets are not doing any real damage.
Rebecca leaps onto the hook to kick it down to impale the back of the head. Green blood is oozing from the wound as Rebecca slams down with her feet to cut through the skull of the beast to finally kill the thing.
"Fuck it, you got over that failure. Enjoy your little victory, you will not be so lucky," Mimi cuts off the speakers.
"Guys, we secured our way out of here. I will send you directions to our location," Stella said on the radio.
"Thanks, we will be right there," Rebecca said as they went into another room that had a lot of monitors and screens. She looks down to see a big red button which is for self-destruction of the labs. "What a flawed design," she clicks the button to see the hallways glowing red.
"Warning, labs destruction in 30 minutes," the computer said.
"Like they need this anymore," Cortez said as they rushed through the hallway with Militech still in combat with robots and mutants. Soon they reached the two women to get into the lift to get topside to be back in the police station to run outside to see the whole place blowing up and becoming a big crater.
"Good riddance, we got the third keycard. Let's get out of here," Rebecca said as they escaped to be able to rest back at the hideout to only have 2 keycards left to find.
