Lincoln never felt so happy and relieved in his entire life. Sure he was happy to be a hellhound, but it happened against his free will. He took a shower and was going to have his makeup French exam at school today if he can get Miss Dimartino's approval. Getting out of it fifteen minutes after, Lincoln was all clean and he got himself some new clothes to wear for school.

Sure he was happy to be human again, but he kinda missed being a hellhound for some weird reason.

Coming out of her bedroom to start a school day, Luna was the first one to notice it. "Morning Lincoln." She said after yawning, but then her eyes became widened to see that Lincoln was normal again. "Hey! You're not a hellhound anymore, dude!" She smiled. "You're better!"

"Yep."

"Dude, this is good news." Luna hugged her brother. "Ready to rock the world like a hurricane again now that your back into a human?"

"I'm more than ready. I got some help with my French to help me with my French test I missed."

"Ooh, fancy."

Yes, Lincoln had some breakfast and everyone else in the family was happy to see Lincoln back to his normal human form.

"You know, I'll kinda miss the soft, snow-no white fur you had." Leni said. "They were as soft as a furry blanket."

"I know, and I'll miss your tail." Lana admitted.

"Can't always get what we want, unfortunately." Lincoln rolled his eyes.

"It's a shame." Said Lisa, pulling out a red vial from her back. "I have completed my cure for Hellhound fever last night and I was about to give it to you."

"You created an experiment that took all night again?" Rita sounded annoyed.

"Lisa, you know the rule: in this house, bedtime means bedtime." Said Lynn Sr with his arms crossed.

"I was trying to help Lincoln out and you should be thanking me for this." Lisa retorted.

"ok but still." Said Rita. "Lincoln was enjoying his Hellhound form a little."

"Yeah, I admit. It was fun while it lasted." Lincoln pointed. "I felt stronger than everyone, I could run faster than everyone and I could scratch myself in places I was never able to reach before."

"ok, let's not get too disgusting." Lola flatly said.

"Well, eat your breakfast." Said Rita. "Don't wanna be late for school."

"Right."

Lincoln enjoyed his Belgian waffles and went to the bus to school. He hoped that he didn't have a shit ton of school work to catch up on being sick these past couple of days. He remembered the teaching of Loona and the French words she repeated and taught him. It was nice seeing Ms Dimartino again, and she looked as beautiful as ever.

While ago, Lincoln had a gigantic crush on her, but got over it later on in his life, and was normal around her. Too bad the same could not be said about Rusty since he is a so-called "ladies' man".

"Ok everyone." Said the beautiful substitute teacher. "Let's begin today's lesson."

she began showing the students African studies, something underrated among the school field, and even some vacation photos of her in many African countries. Writing down some notes and looking at the textbooks, the students were writing down notes like crazy and it was rather a hassle for their wrists.

nevertheless, Lincoln managed to survive this and sat in the classroom as his friends went to lunch. He stayed in the room for a very good reason. Miss Dimartino gave him a copy of the French exam he missed and she asked: "so are you feeling better, honey?"

"Yep. Way better."

"Good. And don't worry if you struggle. Just skip it and come right back to it." She gently patted him on the head. "Bonne chance!" She sang.

"Merci." Lincoln smiled. So his test began. It took about almost half the lunch period and remembered the words and phrases Loona taught him. Of course, he could not forget the accent marks on many phrases and words in the French language.

Sure, he struggled a few times, but he managed to get it through his head. He went up to the desk and the substitute teacher smiled at him.

"Here you Miss D." Said Lincoln

"Thank you. Now it might take until tomorrow before you know the results of the test. Ok?"

"That's fine. I was glad to have finished it."

"Good. Have a good rest of your lunch, Lincoln!"

"I will."

Deep down, he hoped that Loona did help him with the correct answers and that he would ace this test. For now, he needed to fill up his empty stomach.

After School

Lincoln felt triumphant in his test, and walking home, Clyde was with him and he asked: "so you had a cold, Lincoln?" The white-haired boy paused, looking a little nervous. He knew he had to keep his case of hellhound fever discrete from the outside world, and he looked back at his best friend

"just a regular cold. That time of year again." Lincoln lied to him.

"Oh. But flu season is not till fall or winter." Clyde remembered.

"Yeah but the cold can just get in people when you least expect it."

"That makes sense." Clyde admitted. "Yeah glad you're feeling better, buddy."

"Thanks Clyde." They walked different paths and Lincoln was alone as he came back to his house. There, Loona and Vortex were there, along with the rest of IMP.

"Hey Linc." Said Loona with her small smile. "Heard you're back to being a human again."

"Uh-huh. But I guess the people who cheered for me in Hell would probably not be fans of me anymore if they found out I was never really a hellhound."

"Oh come on." Said Tex.

"Many hellhounds used to be people before dying." Blitzo added. "They wouldn't care."

"Yeah don't worry about it." Said Millie.

"But how did your French test go?" Loona asked

"Well, Miss Dimartino said that I will know by tomorrow."

"Ah."

The night was here and the full moon was out. Lincoln thought of how beautiful it was like this at night and couldn't help but lay outside on a recliner to look at the at the full moon under the starry night sky.

It was peaceful and quiet at night with the sound of an owl hooting in the distance every now and again. Of course, what would the night be without the sound of crickets chirping all around?

What was even better was a couple of fireflies were flying and hovering at night to make it more relaxing.

Lincoln was alone out here, or so he thought. "Hey." Said a voice that spooked him.

it was none other than Loona herself, in her hellhound form. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you."

"Like I said mentioned before." Lincoln said, "Lucy does this to me all the time."

"Right." It was quiet for a moment before Loona asked: "how did you think you did on the French test?"

"Honestly, I think I nailed it."

Loona gave him a small smile, then she looked up at the full moon. "Good."

"you're not gonna howl at the full moon, are you?"

"What? Why would I do that?"

"I don't know." Lincoln said. "Hellhounds being dog-like, dogs howling at the moon like wolves."

"Ugh, do I look like a fucking werewolf?" Loona sounded a little annoyed. "... actually don't answer that."

"Right. And... don't take this the wrong way, but: what are you doing here?"

"Just have. Just have nothing better to do. That's all."

"And I'm still not really your friend, right?"

"Yep." Loona flatly said.

"I see."

"Well, I guess I should tell you something." Loona admitted. "I never really had friends growing up before I met Vortex."

"sorry."

"Don't be. And... guess I do consider you a friend." Loona admitted.

"well, I always kinda knew I was your new friend." Lincoln admitted. "Otherwise, you wouldn't have saved me."

"Ok, ok, you got me." Loona smirked.
