Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man mobilized for the long awaited takedown of Wilson Fisk, alias the Kingpin. But before they could get there, Captain Watanabe redirected them to Times Square in order to stop Fisk's goons from stopping the police from getting through. And in the meantime, Doctor Octavius put a call in to Peter Parker, alias Spider-Man, to ensure he'll be there. Spyro and Cynder reassure he will as the group heads into a fight. So how's this going to go? Read on to discover...
(Our scene opens in chaos, as a bunch of thugs armed with machine guns are making their way through Times Square. The NYPD has arrived and is trying to push through them, but ultimately end up in protective cover behind their squad cars)
Police Officer: We need back up!
(As another officer radios in that they need aid, the leader of Fisk's thugs puts a stop to the machine gun fire)
Fisk Thug: Bring in the hammer.
(Realizing the gunfire has stopped, the police pop up from their cover, weapons drawn, but that's when "the hammer" comes in, a giant tanker truck is rammed into the scene, smashing through the police cars before hitting a building, tipping over, and exploding. Fisk's thugs move in to kill the cops, but that's when Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man arrive, with the wall-crawler webbing up the goons' weapons.)
Spyro: Morning gents!
Cynder: Hope you're all thirsty, because we've got a hot cup of bodily harm with your names on them!
Spider-Man: Dang it, you guys stole my quip!
(And with that, the battle is on. Spider-Man web strikes a few of the goons while Spyro and Cynder crowd them in to be webbed up. But as they do, another truck enters the scene, carrying more of Fisk's men)
Spider-Man: Yeesh! Fisk has a lot of people on his payroll!
Cynder: More potential witnesses to turn on him!
Spyro: Assuming we can do that.
(The battle resumes, but it's very brief as the goons are easily dispatched of, primarily being webbed to the truck they arrived in. With the battle done, Spider-Man resumes contact with Yuri)
Spider-Man: That's Fisk's goons taken care of. Yuri, what's happ...
(But before they can get an answer, an explosion can be seen off in the distance, in the direction of Fisk Tower)
Spyro: YURI!
Cynder: Of course Fisk wouldn't go quietly!
(And before long, we are in front of Fisk Tower, where more of Fisk's men have used the explosion to erect a barricade from which to fire on the police that're there, even firing on a police helicopter circling the scene. But amidst the sea of blue uniforms there stands a figure in black, Captain Yuri Watanabe, taking cover behind a police van and radioing for something when Spider-Man sticks himself to the truck as Spyro and Cynder fly in next to him.)
Spyro: You okay, Captain?
Yuri: If Fisk makes it out of this building, we'll never get another shot at him.
Cynder: Leave the Kingpin to us. We'll have him in checkmate by the end of the hour.
Yuri: Do your thing, you three.
Spider-Man: Alright, let's do this! (As he web-swings into action) Today's your big day, Willie!
(And with that, the three rocket off into the fray, dodging gunfire by the score until Spyro and Cynder grab a goon from the roof, once Spider-Man has web blocked the other two's vision and fly him straight through the window, breaking it, revealing the police have managed to get in)
Spyro: Officers! We'll clear a path! Keep on us!
(And as the three rush into the battle, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to end for today. So, now we're officially within Fisk Tower, on the way to arrest the Kingpin. So, will our terrific trio be able to accomplish this monumental task? Tune in next time as the answers are revealed! Same time... same channel!
