Chapter 1
January 16th, 2005, The Cullen's Residence
It was a Sunday evening, The Cullens rested in the living room like any other weekend except for one member, Carlisle. He was studying in his private office to further knowledge himself more about Medical Studies in the future. Everyone is in their own respectful space while doing something to kill time.
Alice is sitting on the sofa with her legs crossed as she sketches a few ideas for her own fashion clothing while looking over magazines. She is not the type of girl to 'go with the flow' like the rest of society as she does her own thing. Of course, she does peek into the future to see what girls will change and that is how she will counter it with her own fashion. Why does she do it? Who cares! She's Alice.
Emmett and Jasper are both playing video games in front of the new TV. Of course, Jasper always comes on top due to his patience and strategies to win. Emmett is a straightforward guy with the addition of a challenge. Sometimes, Jasper does allow Emmett to win over a video game or an arm wrestling, but this would make Emmett angry as he does see the bullshit and demands a rematch.
Rosalie is sitting across Alice on the next sofa looking over sports car magazines. Nothing interesting about it, but this is Rosalie favorite thing to look over upcoming new vehicles. However, she does change occasionally, buys abandoned vehicles, and restores them in their faithful form as intended.
Esme mostly stays at home throughout the day and kills time by either looking into fresh innovative ideas for interior design or watering her inside plants near the patio balcony. Which she is doing right now, coming back from the kitchen while holding a glass jar filled with room temperature water. Esme walks by the living room giver her children a loving smile to them, but Alice did catch it in the corner of her eye.
Lastly, there is Edward, sitting in his piano chair behind Alice's position playing some keynotes; more like he is trying too. Alice stopped sketching as she let out a heavy sigh. She looks up and takes one look at her family. She knew that this was not a peaceful family night to spend on the weekends. The Cullens are missing that one piece of their cold dead hearts to make them feel at least alive; Jackson Cullen.
Jackson may be the third child to be adopted in the Cullen family, but he was the youngest of them all. He was born around 1925, making him known as the Little Cullen to his siblings. When he disappeared in the Fall of 1985, this devastated The Cullens. Carlisle contacted The Denali Coven and requested their aid to find him, but with no luck. Esme wouldn't talk to anyone for over five years, not even to her husband.
Alice wishes she would be able to visualize what each of the family would be doing if he were here right now.
She would form a picture of Emmett and Jackson always playing video games while challenging each other. Emmett would drag Jack to do most daring situations for the sake of fun. To the point of both getting scolded by Esme or Rosalie.
She wishes her sight on her husband, Jasper, discussing with Jackson about History topics or strategies plans to beat Emmett in any game. The reason Jasper had a more bonding with Jack was due to their similar abilities; well... almost.
After being a newborn vampire, Jackson was born with an ability like Edward, Alice, and Jasper; Mind Manipulation. Mind manipulators can control the minds of others, including their thoughts, perceptions, movements, memories, and personality. This power can affect over a radius of a few miles within him. If a human sees him or the family during the sunlight, they all see them as normal without any exposure of their skin. Jackson only uses this ability when it is necessary for emergencies in case any humans start questioning or discovering about them. This made their immortal life simple, without having to move every time there is a slip up.
Alice smiles fondly at the memories of their bickering and irresponsible behavior back then. She then looks over at her eldest sister, Rosalie. Alice understands Rosalie was like the second mother figure towards Jack. Rosalie gave him a nickname, Little Jacky, and he in return calls her Rosy. Alice would visualize Rosalie and Jack working together in their garage fixing or updating the vehicles. Rosalie prefers to work on fancy sports cars while Jackson prefers on 4x4 Jeep/Trucks or V8 Muscle cars, like Emmett.
Carlisle and Esme were blessed to have this child brought into their immortal life when he was eight. Carlisle knew the consequences of bringing a human child in the vampire world would be dangerous and placed his family on the spot. Of course, Carlisle did everything to inform Jack of the knowledge of their world and the choices he needed to make. Jack chose the family of course and this made Esme overjoyed. She is always grateful for the children that she and Carlisle have. However, Jackson was the one to give her the motherly experience she always hoped for. She was able to experience this feeling like; Feeding him daily while cooking, privately educating him, and witnessing him grow to a handsome young man.
Lastly, Alice looks over to Edward, but she notices that he stops playing and gives her a knowing look.
"Alice, please stop. It is not helping." Edward said softly to her with a sad happy smile.
Alice releases a heavy sigh. Knowing well that Edward can hear her thoughts. "I'm sorry Eddie, it's just it isn't the same-"
"I know... I know." Edward softly cuts her off. Alice nods to him in defeat and she turns back to her position. Only to realize the rest of her siblings stopped what they were doing and stared at her. The look they gave her is an understanding, feeling of what they dearly missed.
"I'm sorry guys, I didn't mean to rui-" Alice gasped as she widened her eyes and stayed in trance.
"What is it?! What do you see?" Jasper sat beside her within a second. Alice did not respond, but her mouth gaped without saying a word. Jasper knows that this is deep, as he grabs her sketch pad and turns to blank sheet paper. He hands it to her with a pen and she starts sketching in all haste.
Edward, Emmett, and Rosalie stood nearby as they had never seen her have one of her visions where she couldn't even speak. Esme stood near one of the living room's columns while still holding the glass container, looking worried. Seconds later, Carlisle joined beside her from his office while resting his arm around her shoulder for reassurance.
Edward hears her thoughts, but he is immediately confused. He looks at her sketch and mentally notes the following things she is drawing on one perspective view;
-Double doors in the center
-A large arc in the bottom of the drawing
-Round tables
- Silhouette people
-A young female with more drawn details
-Square floor tiles
-2 X 4 Ceilings
'Wait! Is this the School's Cafeteria?' Edward thought. Suddenly, Alice's pen focuses on drawing a silhouette figure over the double doors in the center of the drawing. This one however, she shaded it in black; too much shade. The shaded silhouette looks like it was just walking in the cafeteria to join the others.
Edward's eyes widened as he realized what he was seeing. It is the school's cafeteria, but in their perspective from where they sit. 'What the hell?!'
Alice stops drawing and sighs heavily. She hands over the drawing to Jasper. She rubs her eyes with the heels of her hands. Even though they may be dead and can't sleep, they can still feel mentally exhausted. Jasper tilts his head in a state of bewilderment and presents the sketch to the rest of the family.
"Is that where we sit in the school cafeteria?" Rosalie question first.
"That's exactly what I was thinking." Edward confirms her. Carlisle looks over the drawing for a second then gazes at Alice.
"What does this mean, Alice?" He asked.
Alice looks up, ready to inform her family. "Two people will be attending with us at Forks High School. One is young sixteen-year-old girl, and the other is young male who I can't see furthermore into what he looks like."
The Cullens looks perplexed over at the girl and boy in the sketch. She is the only one who happens to be drawn in detail. She has thick, long hair, with a wide forehead, and a widow's peak. However, the male is a solid, dark image of a subject with shadows around him against the brighter background.
"Who's the girl?" Esme asked.
"I don't know... but she is somewhat connected to you Eddie." Alice said. Edward gives her an optimistic look.
"Oh! Look at that, you may have found your soulmate, Edward!" Emmett grins as he elbows his brother.
"Shut up..." Edward mumbles.
Rosalie closely surveys the girl, she scoffs. "Well, you better be wrong, Babe. I can tell whose table belongs too where she is sitting. She will be joining that group with Gossiping News Skank, Jassica."
"Rosalie!" Esme chided.
Rosalie just rolled her eyes. "Anyway, Edward, it's best you ignore this girl. I can already feel the hell she will bring upon us." Edward didn't respond as he stayed quiet.
"I assume that dark figure in the center walking in the cafeteria is the male, am I right, Darlin?" Jasper asked as he grasped his wife's hands fondly.
"Yes..."
"I'm actually more concerned on this guy?" Emmett's alarm tone made everyone a little anxious.
Jasper nodded thoughtfully. "I agree."
"Is he a threat?" Carlisle softly asked.
"No!... I could not clearly see any features in him. This guy is like hiding in the shadows or is completely lost in his future. He's carrying a dark presence with him; Like he is distressed" She sadly explains. Esme uses her vampire sight closely at the figure. It isn't just simple silhouette humanoid figure; she can see the men has slim body with an average height comparing to the doors.
'He looks familiar.' Esme thought.
"When will they arrive?" Jasper asked.
"Within two days." Edward answered.
"That's it?! Two people joining at our school; one who will be a headache and the other is a depressed moody. I think he's your bestie, Edward?" Rosalie crossed her arms while smiling at him. Edward responds with a glare.
'Ha! This is priceless!' Emmett grinned at him.
"Rosalie!" Carlisle chided this time with a warning look. Alice stood up in front of Rosalie in annoyance.
"I'm sorry, but there is something about him that my visio-" Alice intakes a sharp breath. Her head shot back, bringing the rest of her body down onto the floor in blur. Jasper did not have time to catch her then. Her body violently twitching and shaking.
"Babe, there is more to it than you thought." Emmett comments.
"Carlisle! Help her!" Esme exclaims in worry.
Carlilse rushes to her as he places his hands onto her shoulders to keep her stable. Jasper took hold on to her knees and Edward took hold of her head just behind her.
"Jasper use-"
"Way ahead of you!" Jasper interrupted Carlisle as he uses his pathokinesis onto her. Sending her waves of reassurance.
"Edward, see if you can hear her thoughts." Edward nodded as he looked at her in horror. He places both of his hands on either side and holds her. Alice's eyes rolled all the way back while her mouth gaped wide open.
"Alice, I need you to follow my voice. Come back to me, my little princess." Carlisle angelic voice is working. Her body slowly halts, but she has never broken out of trance.
"That's it, Good... Now Edward!" Carlisle looks at his son. Edward took this opportunity and dived into her mind. He, however, was not prepared for what he was about to hear.
"What?!" Edward exclaims in shock. Edward's and Alice's body stopped moving in a hypnotic state, like time froze. The rest of the family has never witnessed this in their immortal life. If Alice is having these for the first time, then the Cullens need to take hypervigilant for what is approaching.
"Carlisle, what wrong with them?!' Rosalie asked, but Carlisle didn't respond, he was also baffled by this.
Carlisle and Jasper cautiously stood up and moved silently into positions, knowing what's coming after these two break away. Carlisle positioned himself behind Edward and Jasper kneeled next to Alice where Carlisle once stayed. Both raise their hands, ready for what's forthcoming to them.
"Aaaah!" Alice screeched at the top of her lungs. She sat up quickly only to be caught in the arms of her husband. Edward stumbles backwards but regains balance once Carlisle holds him in place. Alice's eyes were wide as she is hyper venting. Edward is also panting for this experience as he has a look of disbelief. She buries her face as she begins to sob wildly.
"Shhh... I'm here Darlin, I'm always here for you." Jasper sooths her as he cuddles her. He can feel the mix of negative emotions radiating from Alice.
"A..Alice! Is it true?!" Edward asked.
"What's true?! What did you see Alice?!" Rosalie panics. Emmett picks up the sketch and accusingly points a finger to the male associate.
"I knew it! It's him, he's the threat. Oh! I am definitely going to kick his ass!"
"No!" Edward and Alice cry out in unison. Alice looks back at Carlisle with a pained expression.
"C... Carlisle?" Alice reaches her hands towards him. Carlisle approaches her and kneels in front her, holding her hands.
"Yes, Alice, go on." He insisted.
"Our long lost Cullen is finally returning." Alice whispers. There were multiple gasps in the room. Including Esme, her eyes were opened wide in shock. "Jackson Cullen is the one in the sketch."
"What?!" Esme whispered in disbelief. She loosens her grip from the container as it impacted on the marble floor. Shattering pieces of glass spread beneath her feet with the combination of water.
January 18th, 2005, Forks High School – Edwad Cullen's POV
My siblings and I went into the cafeteria in haste. We sat at our usual table where we ate and waited patiently. We stared intently at the double doors where students were still entering the cafeteria for lunch period. Those doors lead to the hallway where the classes are all connected to the rest of the school. Of course, we prefer to come in from outside.
Alice is the only one who took a tray to blend in with the rest of the students. However, none of us were in character right now, we are desperate to finally reunite with our brother. The past two days were exhausting and tense for the Cullens. I closed my eyes and carefully used my ability to listen to everyone's thoughts. I wanted to pick up if any of the students have at least met him. If so, what surname is he going under?
'Wow! The Cullens do look intense, I wonder what worked them up?' -Jessica Stanley
'Fuck! Learn to be humble, you freaks!' - Mike Newton
'Okay, I am not going to bother to talk about them today, especially that Ice Queen cold bitch!' - Lauren Mallory
I huff in annoyance. Of course, everyone always gossips about us. Any school we attend, everyone wants to talk about our family, even the popular kids wanted to hang out with us. Closing my eyes once again and listening carefully to my surroundings.
'Wow! The Chief's Daughter does sure have fine piece of ass' - Tyler Crowley
'Okay, you got this! All you need to do is get to know her and make small talk. That way you can ask her out on prom.' - Eric Yorkie
I completely forgot about the girl. Alice said there will be a girl who will be attending today alongside Jackson. 'This young lady will somehow relate to me?'
She is the Chief's Daughter, Iseballa Marie Swan. So far, some males want to win her affection. Opening my eyes and looking over at Jessica's table. There she is, wearing a green jersey with long sleeves and blue jeans. She looks exactly how Alice sketched her. I still don't see or feel anything interesting about her. Of course, my family is not interested in her as our main priority is getting our brother back. My curiosity got the best of me as I dived into her thoughts.
'Wait! What?! I can't hear what she's thinking?' I mentally spoke to myself. Bella slowly looks in my direction as she is perplexed with my family. I frowned in confusion as I was not able to hear a word out of her mind.
CLAT! CLAT! CLAT! CLAT! CLAT...
I groaned; Should have known Rosalie's patience was running thin. Her heels clacked on the tile floor with her arms crossed over her chest. Her face frowning directly at the doors where students are still entering; she clenches her jaw. Although, I 'll give her credit for being patient and more controlled than Esme for these past two days. Alice puffs in annoyance. "Rose, stop-"
"You said he will be here during lunch hours, Alice! Now, where the fuck is he?!" Rosalie hissed inaudible, accusingly pointing her finger at Alice.
"I have not gotten another vision since then, Rose! So that means nothing has changed!" Alice hissed back in a frown as she stood up in defense. Emmett and Jasper reached their wives and gave them comfort.
"You two need to chill the fuck out! If Alice says that he'll be here, then he will be here." Emmett's authority tone gave everyone to get a hold of themselves.
Rosalie and Alice looked at each other for a moment before finally nodding, a sign of an apology. Their anger slowly faded away and now have been replaced by doubt. I can hear their thoughts as they are beginning to register this whole thing was nothing but false hope.
I gazed once again at Bella's table, but accidentally made eye contact with one of Jessica's friends, Angela Weber. She smiled kindly at me; I returned the favor while waving her. Honestly, she is the only in this school who is not judgmental. I find her thoughts wonderfully comfortable as she is always kind and selfless.
'I'm glad I've met the new guy, Desmond. He's just so handsome and perfect; average height, round face, chestnut brown hair, side part haircut, and that slime fit body. He would definitely fit with the Cullens' - Angela Weber
'Bingo! It's Him!' Snapping my fingers in excitement as if I won the lottery, my face placed with a reassuring smile to my siblings. Rosalie was the first one sitting up as she directs her attention to me, followed by the others.
"What is it? What did you hear?"
"Angela Weber met him. He is under the aliases of the name Desmond. She gives a brief description identical to Jackson. Even to the point of commenting that Desmond would perfectly fit with us, The Cullens." Rosalie, Emmett, and Alice released a heavy sigh. This information is a huge relief on my family's shoulders. Emmett and Rosalie embrace while Alice claps her hands happily with a smile. All of them are in a slightly joyful mood, except Jasper, who happens to frown at me.
"Why is he going with that name?" Jasper suspiciously asked.
I shrugged. "I don't know..."
"Look! The point is that he is here and that's all that matters." Rosalie turns to me. "Edward, give Carlisle and Esme an update. This news will put Esme at ease." I nodded, grasping my phone from my pocket, and started texting Carlisle and Esme. I've decided to text in group message.
Edward: Update! One of the students, Angela Weber, has met Jackson. He's going under the name of Desmond. She describes his appearance exactly like him.
Esme: So, he is here! That's wonderful news! But why is he going by that name?
Edward: I don't know, we'll keep you posted.
Carlisle: Edward, remember to tread lightly. We do not know what he is going through or what he's suffering. Do not make any scenery.
Edward: I'll do my best!
I looked over to my family. "Remember, once he arrives here. We do not want to draw any attention or draw an audience. Let's just wait and see what happens, okay?" Emmet, Jasper, and Alice nodded in agreement, except Rosalie. Who happens to be happily dazed. I placed my phone on top of the table, until I've received another message. This time it was Esme, a private message.
Esme: Edward, if you get the chance, please take a photo of your brother, and send it to me? I want to once again see my boy.
Edward: Okay, will do.
Esme: Don't leave me in the dark, Edward. Please?!
I sighed; Esme had been pushing us throughout the whole time to find him. For the past two days it has been nothing but a fiasco. Don't get me wrong, we all want him back, but Esme was desperately dying to have him returned at this instant. I place both of my palms over the top of my head, remembering that night...
-Flashback-
Two Days Earlier...
"Alice, you must be one hundred percent for sure it is him?! Not nighty-nine percent, but a one hundred percent." Esme urgently asked while clasping her face, looking directly into her eyes.
"I am, Esme! Jackson is returning within two days during lunch period at our school."
After Alice's vision was mayhem, including dragging me into it, we all settle in the dining room for the first time. Figuring out a solution to what this means. Carlisle sat center at the end of the table, grasping his hands together while his eyes are closed. Emmett and Rosalie sat on Carlisle's right while on his left sat Jasper and Alice. Emmett and Rosalie are shown to be thrilled but with little skepticism in their eyes. Alice is still recovering, and Jasper is dubious about this whole thing; I don't blame him. I did not sit with the other, just leaned to a nearby wall.
Carlisle is contemplating these circumstances. He is delighted to have his son returning but is still agitated. Twenty years ago, my brother disappeared without leaving a letter or giving a phone call to anyone in our families. We did everything we could to search for him, but there were no leads.
Esme claps her hands. "This is marvelous! Our son is finally returning Carlisle!" Esme happily exclaims, she embraces her husband from behind while kissing him on his cheek. Carlisle's eyes open as he gazes over to Alice, to me, then to the sketch in front of him.
"There is more to it than it meets the eye." It wasn't a question, more like a statement.
Alice nods in agreement. "He's suffering."
"S.. Suffering? What do you mean?" Rosalie asked in concern.
"Pain... He is trapped in the dark... As if he wants to break out... crying for help" I answered, hopefully making sense.
Alice gasped, covering her mouth. "Edward, you've seen it in him too?"
"I didn't foresee it, but I felt him. It's not good."
"If he's suffering. He knows he has a family here, we can help him." Rosalie said.
"I'm sorry! Are we just going to ignore the missing picture here, like; Where the hell was he these past twenty years? Why do we have to see him at school on the 18th, instead of showing up at home? How come he didn't contact any of us this whole time?" Jasper said, he has a skeptical look on his face.
"I don't like this Carlisle, something is not right. My instincts are telling me there is danger." Hearing Jasper's thoughts made me grimace at such an idea he would theorize, but it made sense.
"What are you suggesting?" Rosalie furiously asked. Jasper must think wisely, choosing his words to answer Rosalie. He knew Rosalie would be the first to jump in and defend her little brother. So, I have decided to speak on behalf of Jasper, I can deal with Rosalie's wrath.
"Jasper theorizes, to which I agree, that Jackson may have given in." Rosalie and Esme frowned at me, Emmett and Alice looked shocked, and Carlisle patiently waited. "He may have met his bloodsinger."
Rosalie stood up and slammed her hands on the table. "No! Little Jacky would never do any such thing as that! He would never abandon his diet and start draining blood from Humans." She yelled.
"Edward! Jasper! What is wrong with you two? Why would you think that way about your brother." Esme angrily asked.
"Ma, it may be the only reason he left in the first place. He might have felt ashamed to return home with his hands filled with human blood." Jasper explains. Rosalie leans over the table and glares at him.
"Right! It's not like we feel ashamed having you attend school with us without constantly looking over our shoulders either you killed a human or not." Rosalie said it in venom.
"Rosalie!" Alice stood up, but Jasper grasped her arm. He calmly stood and looked over at her with sincerity.
"You have completely forgotten that we are nothing but undead creatures with one desire, human blood. Once you get a taste of that blood, you can never think of returning to a vegetarian diet. Y'all had blood in your hands, y'all struggled to escape from that desire. So don't you dare judge me!" Jasper looks at Carlisle. "Jackson is struggling to escape that desire. It is like a drug, an addictive drug, Carlisle." Everyone patiently waited for Carlisle to respond. Rosalie had to dial it down, replaced with guilt. Rosalie may have killed people, deservingly, but never drank any of their blood; this also goes with Carlisle and Esme. Carlisle stood up next to Esme, wrapped his arm around her waist and looked over at Alice.
"Alice, can you see anything else?" Carlisle asked. Alice closed her eyes for a moment but released a frustrated groan.
"No, there is nothing but fade. It means nothing has changed, and we must be there on Tuesday." Esme loving grasped her husband's cheeks and looked him directly into his eyes.
"No! Carlisle, why can't we just take this opportunity and find our son? Whatever struggles he is facing, he is not alone." Esme looks at each of us. "He is your brother! He is family! We will do everything we can to help him... please, Carlisle." Esme pleaded with pain in her eyes. Carlisle confidently nodded as he sped away to the third floor of 'The Library' and came back with a wooden box. He opens it and hands over each of us a silver phone. We use this phone in case we have an emergency to move out, they are non-trackable.
"I will be calling the School's Office tomorrow. You will not be attending as I will also call off my shift for tomorrow. We have less than forty-eight hours, all of us will be searching for your brother before the eighteenth. We will not stop until we find him and bring him home, is that understood?" He firmly asked. My whole family and I confidently nodded in agreement.
Emmett stood up with pride. "Where do we start?"
"La Push is out the question. The Quileute Pack would have immediately called me if one of our own has crossed the Treaty Line." Carlisle said.
"More like the mutts would have attacked us..." Jasper murmured. Emmett and I nodded in agreement.
"Seattle is also out of the question too. He must be close range within the town." Alice said.
"What about Port Angeles?" Rosalie asked.
Alice shrugs. "Possibly..."
"Then we will split. Jasper, Alice, Esme, and I will head over to Port Angeles. Edward, Emmett, and Rosalie will start searching from Forks town into the wilderness. I want you to search all caves, creeks, fields, and over the mountains of Olympic National Park." Carlisle lays out the plan.
"What happens if we don't find him in time when Tuesday arrives? What then?" I asked.
"When Tuesday comes, we will regroup here at 0500 hrs. before dawn."
"Carlisle, folks in town are going to be suspicious of our absence, including you as the best doctor in town. It's not like we going to one of our hiking and camping trip on a sunny day." Emmett said.
"Perhaps folks need to remember how to be a decent human being and minding their own fucking business!" Rosalie retorted.
"That is why we will regroup here early in the morning this Tuesday. Am I perfectly clear on your assignments?" Everyone nodded. "Good, now remember, do not get caught and exposed of our secret. Now Go!" Carlisle ordered. All my siblings dipped into their rooms to change into comfortable clothing and packing. Carlisle and Esme embraced a passionate kiss.
"Thank you..." She lovingly whispered.
"For family..."
"For family..."
Tuesday Arrives...
Just like twenty years ago, we still had no luck finding him, we couldn't even pick up his scent. Emmett and Rosalie drove around Forks town, and I searched around tree line surrounding the town. We then proceeded to search deeper into the woods near Olympic National Park, even close to the Treaty Line.
In Port Angeles, Carlisle also had no luck, Esme has been requesting an update for every hour. She is reliving the past when he disappeared, she might have another episode for non-communicating if he is not found. Emmett, Rosalie, and I arrived at our home before 0500 hrs. Just as instructed. I received a message from Alice that they will be there shortly.
Exactly right on the dot, Carlisle's Black Mercedes S55 appears on the driveway. Esme was the first to step out and approached us, anguish written all over her face.
"Are you absolutely sure you have searched everywhere?!" Esme urgently asked.
"Yes, Mom, nothing." I sadly answered. Looking away from her children, Esme shrieks angrily while clenching her hair as if she wants to rip it off. Carlisle ached in pain seeing his mate this way, while the rest of us shrunk slightly with fear.
"I haven't received any vision since then. Nothing has changed, we must be there during lunch hours." Alice said.
"Jackson does sometimes skip morning classes. He shows up later during lunch." I spoke. If memory serves well, Jackson learns this mischievous behavior thanks to his other mischievous brother, Emmett.
"Alright... Alice and Jasper will be attending in the morning. I want you both to arrive early and pay remarkably close attention to all students, see if you can find him there. Rosalie, drive around town, observe any familiar vehicle he prefers to drive. Edward and Emmet, you both will search once again for around the forest-"
"We've already searched closely and found nothing." Emmet bemoans.
Carlisle slightly frowns. "Just in case he's not far off..."
"What about you and Mom?" I asked.
"Your mother and I will trust you from here on out. I hope you will be able to understand." Carlisle said in a sincere tone. He wrapped his arms around her waist and comforted her, but she didn't respond. It's happening all over again...
I nodded. "We understand, let's go!" Rosalie grasped Esme's hands.
"Don't worry Esme, he'll be there... I'm sure of it." Rosalie tone was hesitant.
4 Hours later
Once again, we didn't find him. It was now becoming irritated. Jasper and Alice weren't also able to spot him in the crowd. Due to the rain this morning, many students were forced to cover their heads with hoodies, even during class. Our only chance is to meet him in the cafeteria.
Rosalie picked Emmett and I near Klahanie Campground with her BMW M3. While she was driving us to school, I was contemplating Jasper's theory of Jack drinking human blood. I remember when he woke as a vampire in 1943, he was in better control like Rosalie and Carlisle. I hope Jasper is wrong, I hope...
Once we arrived at the school's parking lot where we usually park, someone else took Rosalies spot. It's a 53 Chevy pickup truck with faded red paint. Rosalie scowled at the truck, before moving to a different spot, further away from school.
"Ha! I can't believe someone dared to take The Ice Queen's throne!" Emmett said with a grin.
"Emmett..." I mumbled between whispers.
"What? Just trying to break the ice..." Emmett murmured.
"This ain't no time for jokes Emmett, our main priority is little Jacky. Look! There's Jasper and Alice waiting." Once Rosalie parked, she was the first to step out of the vehicle followed by Emmett and I. Jasper and Alice approached us. Thankfully, the rain finally died down.
"No sign of him, thanks to this damn rain!" Jasper said. He had doubt and irritation in his voice.
"I haven't received anything... this is our only chance." Alice sounded hopeless.
Rosalie nodded. "Let's go!" She grabbed Emmett's hand and took the lead, followed by Jasper and Alice, and finally me. I hear my sibling's last thoughts before entering the cafeteria.
'Please Little Jacky, please be here! I won't forgive myself if I return without you. I will be torned to see my family falling apart' - Rosalie Hale
'We are the Olympic Coven! We are The Cullens! We never let ourselves down, and if so, we stand together... I believe in you Alice!' - Emmett Cullen
'I need to pass confidence in these two, I can taste their negative energy towards me. We cannot surrender!' - Jasper Hale
'My vision cannot play tricks on me like this! It must be true... All of this is breaking my family' - Alice Cullen
-Present-
Here we are, just waiting patiently, counting every second of each student coming in through those doors. I observed each of them carrying a variety of emotions and thoughts; happiness, joyfulness, and marvelousness. We once had that, the eight of us felt we were at least like a family, almost alive. When that was taken away in 1987 near Hoquiam, we felt a part of us died that day. I just wish things would go back the way it-
CREAK!
My gaze snapped back to the doors, a young man, stood there curiously looking around the cafeteria. I couldn't see his face due to the grey hoodie over his head. He's wearing a black winter trucker coat, navy blue jeans, and copper burnt boots. Standing over 5'-8" tall with a slim body fit. Ater a while, the young stranger pulls over his hoodie to reveal his face; round face, round eyes, chestnut brown hair, and side part haircut.
'It's him! It really is him!' I happily smiled. However, that smile slowly dissolved from me as I frowned and focused on his eyes. Looking for a familiar color that would represent their true nature, but there weren't crimson red nor was amber like theirs... they're blue!
"... Jackson?" I whispered. Rosalie heard me and looked over at the entrance. She immediately stood up with a beaming smile. Emmett, Jasper, and Alice are ecstatic as well, clearly, they have forgotten to tread this lightly.
"Jacky!" She nearly squeals. I quickly grabbed hold of her arm and raised my other hand showing my palm and five fingers to halt them.
Rosalie annoyingly frowns at me. "Edward, let go of me!"
"His eyes! Look at his eyes!" I whispered harshly within range of human ears. She and the others frowned but ogled back to their younger brother. They paid close attention to his eyes, only then their eyes widened to confirm what I was seeing was true.
"Why are his eyes blue?!" Alice asked quizzically.
"He's eyes were originally blue when he was a human." I answered.
"Why does his skin look warm?" Jasper asked. He was right, how did I miss that? Jackson's Caucasian skin is not pale like the rest of us.
"... Jacky?" Rosalie whispered, hoping he heard her with his vampire hearing senses.
Jackson finally layed his eyes upon us. He did not move muscle at all but tilted his head while forming a frown. Rosalie gestured to him to come over to our table, but that only made him deepen his frown. Panic was now rising upon us.
"He feels confused... not suffering or pain." Jasper said.
"Eddie?!" Alice asked, but I knew what she meant as I toned down everyone's thoughts, except Jackson's mind.
'Why are they staring at me like that? I feel like they know me, but I don't even know this people. Then again, I don't even remember anything after my accident' - Jackson Cullen?
The realization hit me in the gut as I gasped in horror. How come he doesn't know us? What happened to you brother?
"What is it?!" Rosalie whispered.
"He doesn't know us." I answered panicky. Everyone's eyes snapped at me, written with shock and horror.
"What the fuck do you mean he doesn't know us?" Emmett upsettingly asked.
"I mean, he doesn't remember us. Something about an accident that clearly wiped out his memory." I answered gravely.
"No, that's impossible!" Rosalie said in denial.
"Guys, he's walking away!" Alice whispered. We all gaze up and he indeed is heading to join with the others in line for lunch. Like he's ignoring them. Rosalie's once beaming smile was now placed with pain.
"... Jacky?" She whispered to him once again, hoping he could hear her.
"What do we do?" Jasper asked. My phone buzzed on the palm of my hand. I opened it and have received multiple messages from Carlisle and Esme for the past fifteen minutes. I wasn't paying attention this abbreviated time.
Esme: Edward? Anything new?
Esme: Edward, why are you not responding?
Carlisle: Son, please respond?! Is your brother there?
Esme: Edward, you've given me your word that you won't leave me in the dark!
I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration. What should I tell them about this? Your son doesn't remember any of us? Do you want us to kidnap him and later hate us for it?
"... Jacky?" Rosalie's tone was now beginning to sound devastated. Jackson's back still faces us, like he can't hear her.
"Do you guys hear that?" Emmett asked. We all toned down our hearing senses. Yes, we all heard it, it was coming inside Jack's chest.
THUMP-BUMP... THUMP-BUMP...
THUMP-BUMP... THUMP-BUMP...
THUMP-BUMP... THUMP-BUMP...
We all dropped our jaws open. "He's alive!" Alice shockingly asked. Carlisle was truly clear that once you've turned into a vampire for eternity, there will never be a cure to be human again. How is it possible, Jackson, was once a human turned into a vampire and now back as a human? No, something happened to my brother? Somebody or someone took him from us and reversed him back as human?
"How's that possible?" Emmett asked. My phone once again buzzed, and it was a message from Esme.
Esme: Dammit, Edward! We're coming right now!
"Shit!" I cursed. "Carlisle and Esme are on their way." Alice pays close attention to their surroundings. A few tables are staring at them quizzically, including Jessica's table.
"Guys, we have to leave. We are gaining an audience." She spoke inaudible.
"Alright! Edward, call Carlisle and Esme. Let them know to meet us twenty miles East near Elk Creek. We'll inform them from there." Emmet commanded.
Jasper, Alice, and I casually stood up and started walking to the same entrance we came into. Rosalie did not move as she stood there, never breaking her sight of him. Painfully perplexed that Jackson does not remember any of them. She felt a pair of large hands on her shoulders. "Honey, we have to leave." Emmett whispered in sympathy.
"...Jacky?" Rosalie whispered to him one last time, no reaction. Emmett started gently dragging her out of the cafeteria. Realizing I needed to do one more thing before leaving. I pulled out the camera from my phone and snapped a photo of my brother.
"What happened to you, My Dear Brother?"
