Minato and I were currently sparring in training ground three. We had been going for a couple of rounds since 9 in the morning, it was currently noon.
We were finishing up the last round of taijutsu training and after a short break, we would start our shurikenjutsu training.
We always practice on the weekends, Saturdays are taijutsu and shurikenjutsu. On Sundays, we practice the clone jutsu, the substitution jutsu, and the leaf training exercise for better control of our chakra.
Minato throws a high kick to my left aimed for my head, I duck under and counter by jumping into an axe kick aimed for the top of his head. He blocks me with both arms and pushes me away from him, I'm taken back by surprise as I land Minato is already in my face.
One thing about Minato that terrifies me, other than the fact that he is the best at everything that is related to being a ninja; is his speed. Sure he is skilled in taijutsu, shurikenjutsu, can make more clones than me, and is better at the substitution jutsu than me and everyone in the class. But when it comes to speed It's almost as if he was born to be fast.
As he was in my face I tried and use his speed against him by attacking first. I hop with my right leg and quickly bring my right knee up to his face. But his reaction time is as fast as he is; he stops my knee from fully reaching his face by grabbing it with his left hand and raises himself to kick me straight in the face with his right leg. I get laid on my back while holding my nose in pain trying to see if it was bleeding. It's not as bad as it felt so I kick up to my feet to continue.
"Should we stop here and get some rest Yato?" he says to me with a concerned look on his face. "No way, I haven't even landed a blow on you this round yet. I am not stopping until I do." I reply with a firm tone and look back at him. "You already landed some good blows the last two rounds, and your counters are really good." he replied a with blank look on his face." Minato that was the last two rounds, we are in this round and I still haven't landed a good blow. I mean sure I can counter you but that's because I am used to fighting you. If this was the first time we sparred I wouldn't be able to handle your speed and ability. So I won't stop until I land a good blow; and don't you dare hold back." I reply with a serious and determined look.
Minato nods and comes at me a serious look on his face. We kept going for another 15 minutes. He goes for a quick jab with his left to my face but I managed to push his arm to the side and grab his forearm at the same time. As quickly as I did that, I spun around and pulled his arm and I was going to elbow him to his left cheek but he managed to grab my elbow with his right hand. I didn't stop there and pushed through and managed to land a blow on his face even though his hand was still on my elbow. He staggered a bit and then just looked at me smiling. "That was a very good counter Yato, and a good hit," he said. "Thanks, Minato, you might have blocked it but it still landed. I am satisfied with that blow. I feel like I am improving every time we fight. Thanks for not going easy on me." We do the seal of confrontation and take a break before we start practicing our shurikenjutsu.
We sit against the wooden poles and drink some water to rehydrate ourselves. I take out some rice balls and give two to Minato. "Here take these, we need food as much as water". I say as he takes the rice balls and digs in.
As we finished eating and had a break for about 30 minutes we started training our shurikenjutsu. We were both good at just throwing the shuriken and we always hit right in the center. What I had trouble with were the techniques used with the shuriken. An example of this is when Minato throws two shuriken at the same time and one is used to change the direction of the other and it hits the target that is in his blind spot. I am still working on just changing the direction of what I throw and hitting the target in front of me.
We practiced for a couple of hours and by the end with Minato's help of course I managed to hit the target. Even though I managed to hit the target it was only the edge; not even close to the center. It wasn't much but it was an improvement. I just had to change the trajectory of where I threw the shuriken by a couple of degrees; that's what Minato said and it worked.
We picked up our shuriken and kunai that we had thrown and started to head back. Minato freezes up for a second looks to his right and jumps off from branch to branch. "What the hell, HEY MINATO WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" I followed after him but he was too fast for me. I caught up after a while and he was just standing there on a branch looking down. I hopped next to him to see what was so interesting.
"What, what are you looking at?" We're both looking at none other than Kushina, and she was beating the hell out of what seemed to be a genin while one of the bullies in our class ran off and yelled in fear. "IT'S THE RED-HOT HABANERO"
"This hair, it's a part of me, I can't change it." Kushina says in between punches in an angry and sad tone.
"I kind of feel bad for her." I say to Minato as he just watches what's going on below us.
Kushina finally relents and gets off the genin. "Outsider." He says while throwing what looked to be strands of Kushina's hair at her. "As if an outsider like you can ever become Hokage. Keep dreaming, the village will never accept you." he mocked as he left.
'Why that piece of-' My thought process gets interrupted by Kushina who just noticed our presence.
"You two didn't want to help me because I am an outsider is that it." she says to us in frustration.
I was taken back a little but before I could correct her Minato beat me to it."No that's not it-."
"I bet you both wanted them to attack me as well." Kushina interrupted Minato and just ran off to who knows where.
'How did she jump to that conclusion?' I thought in bewilderment.
"Hey wait a second, how did you know this was happening anyway?" I asked Minato in confusion.
"I just felt it like she was in trouble, and I just knew where she was so I rushed over here." He answered with a curious look on his face. I think we both came to the same conclusion at the same time.
"Does that mean you're a sensor-type ninja?" I inferred. He looks at me and nods while saying "I guess I am."
I was not about to let this chance slip by me.
With a sly grin on my face, I look at Minato as he gets a bit of a worried look and a sweatdrop on his face.
"Uhh Yato, why are you looking at me like th-?"
I interrupt him as I raise my hands to the sides and look to the sky, I say in a teasing and fascinated tone.
"It must be destiny. Our very own golden goose finds out he is a sensor just to feel that his redheaded beauty is in need of a gallant hero; he then rushes off to save her. If these two are not meant to become man and wife then this world shall know pain."
I finish and I look at Minato with the same grin I had before. But he was nowhere to be found.
I look around but there is no trace of him.
"Damn it. I missed his reaction".

I am going to try and put in his training so that it doesn't look like he just got strong out of nowhere. But I won't focus on it too much.
