What's up, everyone! This is GKC here bringing you a new story set in the world of Pokémon!

This is a story set in Hoenn and uses both anime and games. However, it features Pokémon from all regions because it makes sense.

Now for the disclaimer: I do not own, except my OCs, the Pokémon series. All rights belong to their respective owners.

Now let's get this party started… BEGIN!

Chapter 1: Welcome to Hoenn

"Haha! Gotcha!" I cried out in joy as my game character caught my latest Pokémon find. And it just so happened to be shiny too! Which is even better! Thanks to my partner using False Swipe, I was able to catch it without throwing too many Pokéballs.

Oh, my name is Chris. I'm an avid fan of Pokémon. Why? Well, when you grow up watching the anime series, you learn to love everything about creatures with incredible powers that act just like everyday animals.

There are hundreds of Pokémon in the games but I'm a bit picky with my team. However, one of my favorites turned out to be Absol, which hasn't failed me yet.

Best of all, the Pokemon I'm playing is Omega Ruby. So meaning my Absol gets to Mega Evolve.

Though, I still need to get the Absolite in order to do that.

And as much as Z-Moves and Gigantamaxing are great, they pale in comparison to the awesomeness of Mega Evolution. And that new mechanic, Terrastalizing, or whatever it's called for the Gen 9 games, kinda gaudy if ya ask me.

Anyways, I think this seems like a good place to stop playing. Might even grab myself some lunch before-

"I've found you…"

…Huh?

I looked at my game and I could've sworn I heard something from the game. But… all Pokemon games don't have any voice acting.

So…who exactly spoke?

"...The time is now. Prepare yourself, human."

"What the-" Before I knew it, a bright flash erupted from my game, forcing me to block the light.

After that came darkness…

Whoooooa, whoooooooooa! Dammit, I'm in one of those floating dreams! Okay, okay, stop flailing like an idiot, calm down!

Alright, right yourself and- Yes! Now I won't be flailing like an idiot and I can-

"Greetings, human."

"Who said that?"

Wait, am I… ohhhhhhhh shit, don't tell me…

Next thing I know, that same bright light engulfed the darkness, causing me to block the light out with my arms. When they've dimmed enough, I lowered my arms, but my eyes widened significantly of who… or rather… what I saw.

It was a white equine Pokémon resembling a qilin or centaur with a gray, vertically striated underside. The striated pattern had similar recurrences on the underside of its mane, tail, and face, and its four-pointed feet are tipped with gold hooves. Its long mane juts away from its head, and its face is gray, with green eyes and red pupils, and a green circular pattern below its eyes. It also has a streak of gold coloration on its head, and ears that point upward while its neck is fairly long, with two pairs of extrusions to the sides. A flap-like feature was on the neck's underside that was colored white like much of the body. Finishing off its look was a golden cross-like wheel attached to its body by its round abdomen, with four jewels attached to it, and the pattern of striated gray of its underbelly resumes past its waist. Its limbs have gray undersides and extrusions at the tops of the legs and its tail is fairly like its mane in terms of shape and coloration.

"Oh… my… Arceus…"

Yeah, I said it. It was Arceus, the God of the Pokémon world.

"Indeed, human. It seems your knowledge of my identity is without question." Arceus replied.

"Why am I here?" I asked.

"All in good time. For now, know that I need your assistance."

"Me?" I pointed at myself in confusion. "Why me? You could've picked anyone else more qualified."

"A valid argument. However, I have chosen you."

"Well… what exactly do you need my help with? Is the Pokémon world in danger?" I asked. "What Team is trying to mess with it?"

"I'm sure you're familiar with Teams Aqua and Magma." Arceus pointed out.

"Of course, they're the big bads in the Hoenn region."

"A greater threat will come to destroy my world. I need your assistance to stop such a calamity." Arceus told me.

"But…why me?" I pondered.

"You have knowledge of the Pokémon world. You will be able to save it alongside my chosen one."

"Chosen one?"

"You will know him when you see him."

That…doesn't really clarify what I need to know.

"I wish you the best of luck, human. Farewell, for now." Arceus said, engulfing the area in Golden Light before my vision blackened once more.

"Ugh, I'm gonna end up with terrible vision one day…" I groaned, waking up with a small headache along with a small throbbing sensation in my eyes. Ugh… just where the heck am I anyways? Wait… I smell grass. Why am I outside? I immediately shot up awake as I sat up, looking around and saw that I was in a forest… great. If I'm in a forest… the only forest that comes to mind is… "I'm in Petalburg Woods."

Which means I really am in the Hoenn region. But is it the games or the anime?

"Sol…" I heard a voice behind me.

Looking back, I was met with a bewildering and awe-inspiring sight. It is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon with a dark blue to black body covered in white fur. It has a ruff around its neck and chest and a tuft on the top of its head adorned with a single blue-black oval. Between the dark skin, the curvature of the white fur on its head, and positioning of its horn, the Pokémon's face vaguely resembles a wu wei symbol. It has a feline face with almond-shaped, red eyes, a scythe-like tail, and a crescent-shaped horn on the side of its head. Its broad feet are equipped with three claws each, and dewclaw-like spikes protrude from the heels of its hind legs and the elbows of its front legs.

"Ab…sol?" I got out. "Is that you?"

"Absol." The Dark-Type replied in a tone that sounds feminine. So, is it a girl?

"Uh, hi?" I greeted her. Reaching out with a hand, I edged it slowly closer just so I don't startle my favorite Pokémon. And believe it or not, to my surprise, it actually rubbed its face against my hand, affectionately I might add.

"You know me…" I muttered.

Absol looked at me, her scarlet eyes looking into my own with recognition.

"...and I know you."

Absol nodded, "Sol, absol." She replied then nuzzled against my hand once more.

I couldn't help smiling at how affectionate Absol seemed to be. "Well, girl, shall we head out?" I asked, as I stood up.

"Absol!" She nodded.

"Great! Oh right, where's your Poké Ball?" I wondered, searching my pockets for the said device.

"Ab?" Absol inclined her head in confusion then a realization hit me.

"Oooooh, crap. You don't have one, do you?" I winced when Absol nodded in response. Guess that means I have to make sure no other Trainers try to catch her. I searched my pockets again and another realization hit me. "Oh man… I don't have any money either…" I slumped my shoulders with my head bowed down. I mean I just got to battle a Trainer and get money that way, but there's no one around here for miles. And if I know my anime, Petalburg City would still be a walk even after I come out of the woods alive in one piece.

"Absol?" My only Pokémon companion seemed to be checking if I was alright.

"Yeah, girl. I'm just…a little bit bummed. We might have to travel back to Littleroot Town." I told her, mentally slapping myself for ignoring that I had no supplies. "And now I realize, I don't know where Littleroot Town might be."

Dammit Arceus, can't you at least help me a little bit?!

"Ab, absol!" Apparently, Absol had something to say, or rather, she decided to show me by trotting off into the woods then looked at me expectantly. "Sol!"

"You know the way, girl?" I blinked in surprise then decided to follow after her.

Okay, this won't be so bad after all.

So that's Littleroot Town?

It's a mix of the anime and game appearances by the looks of it. In the game, it's just two houses and the lab, but in the anime, it's an actual town. There was a Pokemon Center, the train station, and even a port, which was kinda odd in the anime for Littleroot Town to have a port.

But that's beside the point. Since Littleroot Town is here, that means Professor Birch is likely here as well.

"Good job, Absol." I told my partner by gently stroking the white fur on her head.

Alright, let's see if the Professor is around.

"What?! Professor Birch is out on the field?!" I gawked. After Absol guided me to the laboratory, I was greeted by one of Professor Birch's assistants. However, they had just told me that the Professor was out, doing field research.

"Unfortunately, yes." The assistant informed me.

"Well, when will he be back?" I asked. "Because I was hoping to get a Pokémon Trainer license."

"Hm? You're not a Trainer? But you have an Absol. Those are really rare to come by." The assistant remarked.

"Yeah~ about that, see, I…don't have her Poké Ball… Not only that, I uh… How should I say this?" I got out, trying to come up with an excuse, but I couldn't lie my way out of this one. "Would you believe me if I said Arceus appeared to me in a dream then dropped me in Petalburg Woods?"

"No." The assistant said dryly.

Obviously, only an idiot would believe that.

"Okay, I have no ID, money, or supplies. And I need help." I stated. "Just tell me where Professor Birch is and I'll go find him."

"I see…" The assistant said, as he pondered on this. "Well, if I know Professor Birch, he's going to be out of the road just beyond Oldale Town."

"Alright, thanks. Before I go, do you have a spare Poké Ball I could use?" I inquired.

"Oh, yes. Excuse me for a bit." The assistant said with a grin, returning to the lab for a few minutes then returning with an empty Poké Ball. "Here you are."

"Thanks." I replied, accepting the offering. I then turned to Absol. "Alright girl, wanna get in?"

"Absol." She nodded. I tapped the button against her head, and it automatically opened up, allowing her to convert into red energy, which then was sucked up into the ball to which it closed tight.

*WOBBLE, WOBBLE, WOBBLE, WOBBLE!*

*PING!*

Much as I was tempted to do the goofy pose when it comes to catching a Pokémon, I held back and smiled. "Absol, come on out." I said, opening the Poké Ball, releasing my partner from its confines.

"Sol." Absol replied after coming out of the ball in a burst of light.

"Wow, you never actually caught Absol?" The assistant asked in amazement.

"No. She…actually found me stranded in Petalburg Woods." I answered.

"Well, Absol are known as the Disaster Pokémon. So maybe she found you because she had a feeling you would be in danger." The assistant theorized.

Not likely but…I never thought of it that way. Still, I don't mind having Absol by my side because she was the first Pokémon that found me.

"Well, thanks again. I better go find the professor." I said, making for the door.

Alright, so Oldale shouldn't be far. Well then, let's see what the Pokemon world has to offer!

Geez, even going back to the forest, I can't help but feel a little anxious. Who knows what kind of Pokémon could come out of nowhere.

"Hey, Absol. You know the way to Oldale Town, right?" I asked my Pokémon partner.

"Sol. Absol." The Disaster Pokémon nodded.

"Alright then, girl. Lead the way."

"Sol." Absol replied then took off into the forest, forcing me to follow after her.

Oh my God! I'm gonna have to get used to running long distances. "Absol, slow down! Don't leave me behind!"

"Sol! Absol!"

"Are you calling me fat?!"

"Absol! Sol! Sol!"

"Why you- raaaaaaaaaaagh!" I yelled as I was now using Agility…to the best of my abilities.

But dammit if I wasn't going to pay that little smart mouth back! So even if my lungs were burning…my legs aching…and my breathing erratic…

…Oh God, kill me now. Running is the bane of my existence.

Not even five minutes later I was already out of breath as I collapsed to the ground as my voice was coughing and wheezing.

Okay, stop judging me and shut up! The pun with Koffing and Weezing was not intentional, okay?!

I'm not even fat and I'm dying. This is what I get for not staying physically active.

"Sol?" A wet nose pressed against my cheek, drawing my attention to Absol who returned to my side. She gave me a blank yet inquisitive stare.

"Don't judge me. I don't get out a lot." I told her.

"Sol~?" The Disaster Pokémon tilted her hand as if I was being sus.

"Shut up." Came my childish retort, forcing myself back up to my feet to catch my breath. "Let's keep going."

"Absol." She nodded then strolled deeper into the forest, this time at a slower pace for me to keep up with. Not sure how long we've been walking but surely, we got to be getting closer to Professor Birch. If I can get a license, I can be properly called a Pokémon Trainer.

"How much longer?" I groaned to Absol. "We're not going in circles, are we…?"

The white-furred feline gave me a dry look. "Sol."

"Right, uh, sorry…" I winced.

Absol huffed, turning her nose up to the sky as she pranced on ahead. Yep, she is mad at me. Maybe I can stem her anger if I give her something to eat? Wonder what she likes? I remember that the Absol I had in the X and Y games liked the Poké Puffs. Though, I think it was because, despite being a computer program, it wasn't a picky eater…

…it was kind of a glutton.

"HEEEEEELP!" A voice called out.

That voice…

"Absol!" The Disaster Pokémon called out to me from ahead.

"I know. Someone's in trouble. Get there fast, Absol! I'll be right behind you!" I told my partner.

Absol nodded and took off in the direction of the cry of help. Hopefully, she'll make it there in time.

(3rd POV)

"This is the third time this week this has happened!" An older man groaned. He was a tall, large man with fair skin, dark eyes, short and slightly wavy brown hair, and a squarish face with a beard. He wears a navy-blue T-shirt under a white lab coat, khaki shorts with a black belt, and tan sandals on his feet. And he also has a brown bag, but said bag was on the ground because a group of Poochyena and Zigzagoon were at the foot of the tree, wanting to attack him for whatever reason.

"Zig…" One of the Zigzagoon took a step forward, anger clearly evident in its eyes.

"The things I do for research…" The older man groaned.

"Grrrrrrrr…" Poochyena growled. "Pooch! Pooch!"

"Absol!" A voice cut in followed by blades of wind that carved a trench between the wild Pokémon and the human. All eyes turned to look at an Absol that leveled a soul-piercing stare at the Poochyena and Zigzagoon.

"What in the world?!" The man exclaimed.

The pack of Poochyena all saw this and opened their mouths, releasing a barrage of Shadow Balls at the Absol.

"Absol! Cut them down with Air Cutter!" A voice shouted.

Absol's scythe-like horn glowed white before it swung its head with a powerful cry, sending blades of wind at the Shadow Balls. All of them exploded on contact in midair and the Poochyena were immediately afraid as they slowly backed up.

Absol took a step forward then looked back, "Sol, absol." It called out behind.

"I know, I know. Give me a second." Stepping into view is a young man, who looked to be in his early teens to late twenties. He had wild, curly brown hair, brown eyes, and light skin that had a faint brown undertone. He seemed rather slim with noticeable muscle in his biceps. He wore a simple navy blue shirt, blue jeans, and grey-black sneakers while having a pair of glasses resting on his nose. "Huh, looks like we made it on time. Nice work, Absol."

"Uh, excuse me! Could you give me a hand?" The older man asked the youth.

"That's why I'm here, old man." The brunette remarked as he looked at the Poochyena and Zigzagoon. "This should be quick."

"Zig! Zigzagoon!"

"Now that's not nice. Attacking an old man like that just because he walked in on your home." The teen said. "Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way."

His answer came in the form of the Zigzagoon firing a Swift attack while the Poochyena unleashed Shadow Balls, forcing him and his Absol to avoid the attacks.

"Okay, hard way it is. Absol," The young man frowned. "Use Thunder."

"Aaaaaaab…" The Disaster Pokémon growled as crackles of electricity formed on her horn. "SOOOOOOOL!" she shouted, shooting a large thunderbolt at the pack of Zigzagoon, shocking them and even the pack of Poochyena. Moments later, the two packs of Pokémon ran for the hills, tails tucked between their legs.

"And that takes care of them." The young man smirked, standing beside his Pokémon and petted her on her head, much to her subtle delight. "Nice going, girl. You did great."

"Sol. Absol."

"Phew…" The older man sighed in relief, jumping down from the tree. "You saved my bacon. Thanks." He chuckled sheepishly.

"No problem. I was actually following the sound of a grown man screaming like a girl." The young man grinned. "Luckily for you, you got powerful lungs."

"Uh…" The older man looked rather perturbed at the fact that he was screaming like a girl.

"Anyways, I take it that you're Professor Birch?" The young teen asked.

"Yes, that's me."

"I've been looking for you, Professor." The young man stated. "I need to ask you something."

"Oh? What is it, young man?" Professor Birch pondered.

"Could you help me with getting an official Pokémon Trainer license?"

"Huh?"

(1st POV)

"Thanks for this, Professor." I said, looking down at my newly acquired license as an official Pokémon Trainer.

"It's nothing I couldn't do, young man. After all, being a Pokémon Researcher has its benefits." Birch replied with a grin. "Still, I'm amazed that you have such a powerful Absol but no Trainer license."

"It's a…long story." I admitted, glancing down at Absol, who was laying down at my feet. Her eyes were focused on the Professor even as she munched on a bowl of Pokémon food made specifically for Dark-Types. Note to self: Look up Pokémon nutrition. "But I wouldn't change anything since Absol was right by my side the whole time."

"I see." Professor Birch nodded. "Will you be participating in the Hoenn League?"

"Not gonna lie, I'm interested in taking the title as Champion of the Hoenn League." I admitted with a grin. Being regarded as the strongest trainer in a region was one such goal but Arceus brought me here for a specific reason. "So yeah, I'm joining the Hoenn League."

"Excellent! I hope you do well in it." Professor Birch grinned. "Ah, right. Since you're going to be entering the League," He said, before going over to his desk and pulling out a red device. But I knew this device more than anything. It's the Hoenn region's Pokédex. Despite looking like a handheld game console, it actually held knowledge of practically every Pokémon species known throughout the world. "You'll need this."

I accepted the device, looking at it with a small hint of disbelief. Why? Because I couldn't believe I was actually holding a Pokédex. It was like a childhood dream come true and I was living it.

"Sol?" My focus returned to Absol, who was staring up at me after finishing her meal…evident by the crumbs around the corners of her mouth, which was pretty adorable on the Disaster Pokémon.

The amused chuckle leaving my lips was enough to signify that Absol was my Pokémon. My first Pokémon. And I knew she would be my partner throughout my journey here in Hoenn. Kneeling down to her level, I use my thumb to brush away the crumbs on Absol's face. "For such a dignified and cool Pokémon, you're kind of a messy eater."

Her reaction? I kid you not…she was pouting. Absol was pouting. How many Pokémon Trainers can say they saw a Pokémon like Absol pout? It's freakin' adorable!

"Oh, don't give me that." I reassured my partner, giving her a gentle rub under her chin. "That just means you've got a cute quirk that sets you apart from other Absol."

Okay, am I seeing Absol blushing? She's totally blushing! Wait, why is electricity-

*BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!*

"YaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAaAa!" I cried out when Absol shocked me!

Oh, God! It freaking hurts! How does Ash survive being shocked with this much power!? Or better yet, how does Team Rocket survive Pikachu's Thunderbolt every time?! They should be dead 10,000 times over!

In a split second, the electric shock went away, leaving me standing there charred to a crisp. I am in more pain…then I have ever been in my entire life.

"Absol…why?" I groaned, looking at my partner in disbelief. "Why did you shock me?"

Absol merely huffed, turning her nose away from me. Professor Birch laughed sheepishly. "Well, this is certainly reminding me of two youngsters that came here not long ago."

"Let me guess. Their Pokémon hit them with an attack for no apparent reason?" I asked, patting the soot off my shoulders and my shirt. Damn, I'm gonna need to get a new outfit.

Birch nodded. "Indeed. A newly arrived Trainer named May had problems with a Mudkip and a Treecko when I was in trouble with a Poochyena two days ago."

May? Could he be talking about game May or anime May?

"And the other Trainer?" I inquired.

"Oh, his Pikachu was overcharged with electricity and suffered from a high fever. Thankfully, all the excess electricity was drained away by…unexpected help." Birch admitted with a sheepish grin.

That could only mean I must be in the anime world of Pokémon. But Arceus mentioned a calamity. It couldn't just be Team Magma and Aqua. So, is this world a combination of both anime and video games? There's only one way to find out.

"Well…if I ever see them, I'll be sure to say hi." I spoke. Who would've thought that I'd eventually meet the Ash Ketchum? Wait… Arceus mentioned a champion of theirs. Could it mean Ash? No…it can't be. Ash only placed in the Top 8.

Then again…he did meet a lot of Legendary Pokémon…

"Before you set out, you'll need these." Professor Birch gestured to five empty Poké Balls as well as a dark grey backpack that had a brand on the top front called Silph Co.

"The Poké Balls I get but why the bag?" I inquired.

"Well, it's made from Silph Corporation, one of the leading companies in technological development research. They design bags like these for Trainers to carry a multitude of supplies." Birch explained.

Guess that explains the limitless amount of stuff you can carry in the games as well as the gear the characters carried in the anime.

"Thanks, Professor." I said, taking the shrunken balls and placing them in my pants pockets while also slipping on the Silph Co backpack.

"Oh, and make sure to get additional clothes." Birch tapped my Pokémon Trainer license. "This is not only for identification, but it also functions as a credit card. There is enough money in there for you to get supplies as well as clothing."

Huh, seems a lot more complicated than in the games but it just means that Pokémon Trainers have to go about life like everyone else back in my universe.

"Thanks Professor, I'll be sure to take good care of them."

"Just make sure you keep yourself and your Pokémon safe." Birch replied, patting my shoulder in a fatherly manner.

With a final nod, I gave Absol a pat on the head as we both left the lab and made our way to a Poké Mart. Hopefully, they'll have what I need for my journey besides medicine and Poké Balls.

But more importantly, my very own Pokémon journey starts! And whatever the world has in store, I'll take 'em all on!

A/N: And there's the first chapter.

This is a new story, but I got the idea from reading other Pokémon Fics that centered around people being brought into the Pokémon world. At least, the ones that are more realistic.

I've already got the Pokémon team figured out and I already have a rival for him. But I will occasionally ask for ideas from you, my dear readers. So, give your ideas and I'll do what I can to implement them.

Review and comment on this chapter. Love it, hate it, but just know that you've read it.

Peace out, everyone!
