Hey, hey!
New story here. Just to get some discretion out the way. If you're more into my genre of my fic 'My Joy' then this is probably not a fic you'll enjoy. It's definitely going back to my Vengeance readers. Maybe even deeper than that. This is a gore/dark fic. Romance and friendship in the mix. NaruHina being the pairing. Also, a major character death. That will be the ONLY spoiler on that.
The fic is Mature and Explicit. Who would I be if I didn't add smut, but this has a lot is gore that makes it for an older audience.
Now, I'm going to start the story. Don't say I didn't warn you!
Tennyo: The female angle.
They entertain those in heaven with music, dancing and poetry. A graceful beauty that could fly with their feathered kimonos. The beautiful feathered clothing were the reasons they could fly. This is the folklore of a special tennyo.
"Do you know anything about the Uchiha clan?"
A young man. About the age of 20, sat outside in the snow beside a little girl from the well-known Hyuga clan of the village Konoha. The little girl looked at the mysterious man nervously, as she crouched down in a sulking, fearful manner. This man scared off a group of boys that was picking on her. Yet, she didn't know him and was too afraid to say anything to him.
He stayed by her side until she stopped crying, and waited for her to calm down before he spoke to her. "Y-Yes."
The man smiled, but Hinata would never be able to tell because he wore a mask. All she could see was his eye. His scary red eye, piercing at her. It looked like the Uchiha's Sharingan. "See? I am a Konoha-nin. I am not a foreigner. I know what happened to you a few weeks ago, so I understand why you're scared."
This little girl was kidnapped by foreign ninja's from Cloud village. Her father saved her, but it cost the Hyuga clan the life of the clan leaders brother. This was something this child now would be burdened with for the rest of her life.
She looked up at the masked man in awe at his mystical features. He pulled his mask down and still smiled caringly at her. She hasn't seen someone smile at her like that for some time. "What is your name?"
"H-H-Hinata. W-What is yours?"
He tilted his head as he looked at her. Still with a reassuring smile. Friendly demeanor. "Obito. Obito Uchiha. Say Hinata. My compound isn't far from the Hyuga's compound, and I was wandering around yesterday morning. I heard your father yelling at you. I hope you know that's not good. Father's aren't supposed to treat their children like that."
Hinata looked down at her knees and picked at them through the fabric of her kimono. "He wasn't always like this. He's just very hurt now, since my uncle and my mother died."
Obito shook his head. "That does not matter. He is your dad. He is supposed to protect you. Please understand that what he is doing is not okay, and you do not have to endure such treatment."
Hinata let out a heavy breath. "I-I understand. I am just…scared of him. I don't want to make him angry. What if he gets angry at me for being brave to him?"
Obito looked down at Hinata. Such an innocent child stuck in such a cruel world. "You are much too young to be fighting battles like that alone. How about this. Next time your dad hurts your feelings really bad, and you cannot take it anymore. How about you walk out to your garden in the Hyuga compound. Near the koi fish pond and leave a kunai there. I'll check there periodically and if I see it. I will talk to your father. Sounds fair?"
Hinata smiled at this. She's never had an adult listen to her like this before and actually try to help her. "O-Okay! Will this mean you'll be my f-friend? I don't have any friends."
Oh. This was sad. So, so sad. Pathetic.
Obito smiled at Hinata and ruffled her hair. "Sure! That sounds like fun. I'll be your friend and I'll teach you some cool things from time to time. You have to follow some rules first. Okay? You can't break these rules, or I won't come to hang out with you anymore with my busy schedule."
Hinata eagerly nodded her head. "Yes! Okay!"
Obito held his hand up as he started to list off some of the rules. "Don't tell anyone about our friendship. Your father would stop us from hanging out, and I won't be able to help you. Don't ask around about me. Whatever you need to know about me. Just ask me. Oh, and one more thing Hinata. I want you to make a friend your age. All on your own. I think you know him."
Hinata blinked at her new friend. Who could he possibly mean? "W-Who?"
Obito kept his friendly smile on his face as he looked at Hinata. "Naruto Uzumaki. You know him right?"
Hinata blushed deep red and Obito chuckled at this as he ruffled her hair again. "I have seen you eyeing him all the time in the village. If I notice, your father must have already noticed as well. So, try not to make it obvious. Okay? I don't want people to keep picking on you."
Hinata smiled at this and nodded her head. Obito was a good friend. He made her feel protected and like she could be someone of importance one day. Someone special. "Okay. I promise. To everything you've said. Thank you Uchiha-sama."
Obito laughed at this. "Hinata please! Just call me Obito. Or friend. If it really makes you that nervous. Hey. I have to get going. Okay Hinata? I'll be back at your compound near the pond tomorrow night around this time if you want to talk some more. Okay?"
Hinata looked like a kicked puppy. She didn't want to be alone. She was always alone. "You have to go so soon?"
Obito smiled at Hinata and gave her a kunai from his pocket. It was a basic kunai with a purple bow at the base of it. She looked at it and smiled. She hadn't gotten gifts since her mother passed away. "This is the kunai I want you to leave behind if you need me Hinata. Also, I have to get going because your soon to be friend Naruto is about to walk around the corner. Now you be brave and go make a friend."
Obito straightened up and turned around to leave. Hinata looked at Obito's clothing and noticed he didn't dress like the rest the people from the Uchiha clan. He must be really special. Like an Anbu ninja or something. "I…I umm like your outfit."
Obito turned to Hinata as he walked away. "Oh this? I have this cool group I'm a part of called Akatsuki. One day. If you work really, really hard. I'll introduce you to them."
With that. Hinata's new friend walked away until she could no longer see him.
"Oi. Hinata? What are you doing out here again? Those stupid boys aren't picking on you again. Are they?!"
Hinata turned from the direction Obito left from and smiled at Naruto. She held the kunai close to her tiny body. "N-No U-Uzumaki-kun. I…just wanted to go for a walk. Will you walk with me?"
Naruto looked at Hinata a little confused. It was odd for someone like Hinata, that stayed in such a big house, to keep venturing off like this. They were so young. Hinata younger than him. "Are you sure everything is okay?"
Nevertheless. Naruto walked with Hinata. They walked aimlessly throughout the village. Hinata's smile, with her rosy cheeks, caught Naruto's attention. Last time he caught her out this late, she didn't smile the whole time. So she must be okay now. "I am s-sure. Everything is fine. I-I've been thinking."
Hinata held her new gift close to her chest and took a deep breath. Her nerves trying to stop her from doing what she really wanted to do. Like always.
However, Hinata's new friend has convinced her to be a big girl! That's the only way she'll grow as a person!
She stopped walking and took Naruto's hand. This completely caught him off guard. Naruto's eyes were wide as saucers and he looked down at Hinata's two hands holding his one. How warm her hands were.
"W-Would you be my friend Uzumaki-kun. I…I have no friends, but I-I would love if you'd be my first friend."
Naruto blinked at Hinata. Shocked by every word she just said. Hinata doesn't have friends? She wanted him as her first friend? Didn't she know he was bad news? All the adults and kids will pick on her if she hung out with him.
His eyes widened and his pupils dilated as he looked at her. He's never had a friend before either. He's never had anyone really. If this girl decides to be his friend, that would mean the world to him. He would cherish this friendship.
Besides. She seemed pretty nice to call a friend.
With a Tennyo. The thing about their feathered kimono. If their kimono's are taken from them, they cannot fly to the heavens anymore. Humans can be known for taking them. Or a fallen Tennan, a male angel, will take them. So the Tennyo stays with them forever.
In this folklore, the fallen Tennan is Naruto Uzumaki. Watch as he takes the feathered kimono from the graceful Tennyo, Hinata Hyuga.
Surely such darkness can't be possessed in such a young Tennan. Right?
Naruto gave Hinata a nervous smile. "Well. I don't know how much of a friend I can be, but you'd be my first person that I label as a 'friend' too. So sure! I'll be your friend, and you can be mine!"
Hinata smiled brightly at this and Naruto has never been more astonished. "T-Thank y-you!"
Naruto grinned at Hinata and tilted his head as he looked at her. "Alright. If you're gonna be my friend though. We'll work on how you talk. There's nothing wrong with how you talk, but still. Ya know?"
Hinata nodded her head eagerly. Her short pixie cut hair bobbing as she looked at Naruto. Today was a good day! She made not one, but TWO friends today! Hinata frowned for a moment. Her new friend asked her to be his friend, and gifted her. She just asked Naruto to be her friend. She had to give him a gift too!
Hinata pocketed her kunai and reached behind her neck to unhook her necklace. She saved all summer for this necklace and was finally able to buy it from the market when she was with her guardian. It was a gold necklace of the sun. Naruto reminded Hinata very much of the warm sun.
Hinata reached over and quickly clipped the necklace together behind Naruto's neck. "A g-gift! F-For being m-my friend. T-Thank you U-Uzumaki-kun."
He blushed. Naruto actually blushed at the kind gesture. No one has ever been this nice to him in his life. "Woah…thank you so much Hinata. Please umm, just call me Naruto. Or friend. If it makes you that nervous."
This made Hinata smile even wider. Naruto was just like Obito. He is a good person at heart.
Hinata nodded her head in agreement to Naruto's request. He smiled at her, finally a genuine smile and pulled Hinata to follow him. Hinata giggled as she let Naruto pull her away. "Come on Hinata! There is this old man that gives me free ramen! It's SOOOO good. You have to try it!"
Hinata laughed at this. She let Naruto pull her along to the ramen spot, Ichiraku Ramen, and missed her other new friend watching her from afar in a dark alley. Obito was watching her and Naruto.
"What is the point of bringing the Hyuga girl into all of this? We could just snatch the Uzumaki kid now and be done with all of this."
Obito secured his mask over his face as he turned to look at the plant like creature behind him. "You cannot be this stupid. Anbu watches that Uzumaki kid like a hawk. For obvious reasons. Just because they don't stop him from being treated like shit from these villagers, doesn't mean they aren't watching to make sure no one takes him from the village. I don't know about you, but I don't want the entire Konoha ninja fleet attacking me all at once. Do you Zetsu?"
The plant like creature named Zetsu frowned as it looked at Obito. Knowing he was right. "Of course not. You're right."
Obito continued to eye Zetsu before turning back to the spot Naruto and Hinata once were. "She's the only person that kids age that's gullible enough to listen to some masked man. She's consumed with so much anxiety and depression. She'll listen to anyone willing to save her from her horrible life at home. She'll get close to the lonely boy. She'll eventually lure him away from Konoha. The nine tails is no easy beast to extract and control. Trust me. Akatsuki needs to get stronger before coming after the nine tails demon."
With that Obito and Zetsu disappeared into the night.
When Naruto and Hinata arrived at Naruto's special ramen spot, he was so eager to introduce Hinata as his new friend. The owner of the ramen stand, Mr. Teuchi, smiled at the scene. Happy to see a friend that Naruto could show off, and actually say they were Naruto's friend.
Mr. Teuchi was even more shocked to see it was a Hyuga. Someone from a clan that everyone knew. A little girl that everyone knew.
No way Hiashi Hyuga was letting his daughter out of his sight this young. As long as Naruto promised to take her home after a hot meal. Teuchi wasn't telling anyone about this.
Naruto watched Hinata immediately sip on the hot broth. "Hey! Be careful. That stuff is super hot. I don't want you to burn yourself."
However, little Hinata just sipped the steaming hot broth. The hot temperature didn't bother her, and she looked very satisfied with the taste. Wondering how they made this stuff. "It's good Naruto-kun!"
Naruto-kun?
Naruto blushed at the formality. This girl was just so polite and sweet. Nothing he was used to. Something he savored. "I told you you'd like it Hinata! I'm surprised you didn't find it too hot." Hinata shook her head as she continued to sip on the broth. "I-I get cold very e-easily. M-My father gets u-upset with me getting cold easily."
Naruto looked at Hinata strangely. Why would her dad get annoyed by that?
Naruto brushed the comment off a little and started to dig into his own food. In between eating he spoke to Hinata. "So…is your dad like some…hard ass or something?" Naruto had no clue that what he was doing was poor manners. Also slightly gross. Eating so fast, loud and messy. That it was basically sloppy.
Naruto caught Hinata staring at him with her head tilted. She wasn't going to comment on it, but Naruto could see that she wasn't too keen on him not using his manners. The look she gave him caused Naruto to chuckle nervously. Thus causing him to take his time eating, and to use what manners he knew about.
Hinata had a pouty look on her face. Before she shrugged her shoulders. "My f-father. He is a v-very busy man. He does not have time for me to bother him. Sometimes he just doesn't want me home and tells me to leave for a while. S-So he doesn't get upset with me. Fathers are like that I suppose."
Naruto nodded his head in understanding. His eyes wandered to Mr. Teuchi and saw how he looked at Hinata. Like he was sad. Like what she said wasn't normal. Mr. Teuchi even shook his head sadly.
Naruto was frowning on the inside, but turned to Hinata and smiled at her. Like everything was okay. When they finished their meal, Naruto promised Mr. Teuchi he would take Hinata directly home. Then go immediately home afterwards.
When it was just Naruto and Hinata walking alone. Naruto stuffed his hands in his pockets and turned to look at Hinata. "So umm. I don't know about your dad Hinata. I don't think he's supposed to be super mean to you like that. I don't have a mom or dad like you, but I really don't think that's how parents are supposed to be."
Hinata looked at Naruto curiously. "I-I…I don't have a mom. She died. A few months ago." Naruto's mouth dropped. Oh crap. Oh man. She was gonna hate him. Never talk to him again now! "I am so SORRY Hinata! I didn't know!"
Hinata gave Naruto a somber smile. She didn't take offense. They were new friends. He just had to learn more about her is all. "It's okay Naruto-kun. Also, y-you're right. A-About my f-father."
Naruto was just like Obito. They are so much alike! They really want what's best for her. This made Hinata happy. Feel warm on the inside. Her new friends were proving to be really good for her.
Naruto pulled his hands out his pockets and held Hinata's hand. Her hand was warm. He knew she said she got cold easily, but he couldn't help but want to take what warmth she had. "That's okay Hinata. Your dad may be a jerk, but I'm here now. You can always come to my house whenever your dad kicks you out!"
He gave Hinata a bright smile, and the two held hands and were jolly the whole walk back to Hinata's home.
In the future. Hinata took Naruto up on his offer.
On Hinata's 9th birthday she sat in Naruto's loft on the floor. Her cheek was bandaged from training. It was a horrible training day. Her father had gotten greatly annoyed with her and told her to leave for a few hours.
Naruto was lying on his back, on his bed throwing a small orange sack ball in the air and catching it. He looked annoyed. Not with Hinata, but with her situation. "You know. Aside from your dad doing this at least once a week. He finds a way to also do this every time it's your birthday or a holiday."
Hinata sat on the floor like a kicked puppy. Curled up into a ball. "He's just frustrated with me is all. He didn't-"
"Use to be like this. I know Hinata. How long is he going to be sad over your mom and uncle? Doesn't he think, like I don't know, YOU'RE sad about losing people close to you too?"
Naruto let out a heavy sigh when Hinata didn't respond to him. She was shutting down again. "I just…I just want you to be happy Hinata. Why do I feel like no one wants us to be happy?"
"My other friend wants us to be happy." Hinata mumbled this as she kept her eyes on Naruto's floor. It was nice and clean. Since Hinata frequented Naruto's apartment. He made a point to keep it clean. The agreement was Hinata could have unlimited access to Naruto's apartment, if it meant she would help keep it clean and refrigerator stocked.
It helped Naruto more than anything. Teaching him about the many different food groups, and even cheap healthy food he could buy and cook at home to taste good.
Naruto made a grumpy face at hearing what Hinata mumbled. He heard her perfectly fine. "Yeah. You know. You never tell me much about your other 'friend' other than he's older. Like, why is he so secretive? Why can't I know about him? I know he's real. He gives you gifts all the time and you never let go of that kunai he gave you."
Naruto wouldn't say he was jealous per say, by this 'friend' of Hinata's. He didn't really understand what jealousy was right now. "Why can't he go and give your dad a piece of his mind? Since he's older and soooo much stronger like you say. We're kids. Your dad would crush us like a bug. Why can't this guy talk to your dad?"
Naruto was not someone that backed down from anything. However, he was no fool either. If he wanted to amount to anything in life, he had to grow up from this scrawny little kid he was now. At best, Naruto had gadgets and tricks up his sleeve to fend off the weak pitiful people that threatened him. Not a dominate Hyuga clan leader.
Hinata huffed at hearing Naruto and held a stubborn look. Her cheeks poking out showing that Naruto was frustrating her. "He's busy. I do not want to bother him with my problems. Plus he offered to talk to my father. All I have to do is say the word. I do not want to though. I can handle this myself."
Naruto stopped throwing his sack ball and flipped over to look at Hinata. "You CAN'T handle it though Nata! Your dad is so freaking mean man! He talks to you, and me, like we're garbage. He kicks you out all the time, in all types of weather, and all sorts of time throughout the day. Even late at night. You've knocked on my door at two, three even four in the morning! I mean, for crying out loud look at your face!"
When Hiashi found out Hinata was hanging around Naruto. He just grew more disappointed in her. Everything she did and said. Naruto could see the added hostility was because of him. Her father was no different than the rest of the villagers in Konoha.
Hinata held her cheek as she looked at Naruto. "It was training!"
Naruto frowned at Hinata. His personality changing from understanding, to pure frustration. He wasn't going to keep babying Hinata if she was going to have an excuse for everything. Which she ALWAYS had an excuse for her dad. He hated when she became so stubborn. "Don't make excuses for that evil ass jerk Hinata!"
The two grew quiet and Hinata started to become red in the face as she was trying not to cry. This was her birthday. Why was this happening?
Naruto watched as Hinata started to wipe her eyes and sniffle. He let out another sigh because he didn't mean to upset her. He just hated for Hinata to be treated like crap and all she did was take it. "Hinata…Nata please don't cry. I'm really sorry. I'm the one being a jerk now. I just hate seeing you like this."
He hated seeing her like this, and he hated her father. He really hated her father.
Not a trait a Tennan is supposed to have. His focus was shifting from what was right, and was giving in to what was wrong. What he desired. Hate.
So early on too.
Hinata nodded her head as she stayed on the floor, curled into a ball. She heard Naruto get off the bed and make his way over to her. Naruto sat on the floor beside Hinata and wrapped his arms around her. Protectively. "I'm more angry that I can't protect you. I really wish I was a grown up, like your other friend, so I could protect you."
Hinata laid her head on Naruto's shoulder and still covered her hands over her face. "You are protecting me Naruto-kun. You're my best friend. You're always there for me."
Naruto closed his eyes and tried to enjoy Hinata's company. Even though she was so sad and broken. "Promise me you'll ask your friend to talk to your dad. Okay Hinata? Please, do it for me."
Hinata was quiet for a moment before she nodded her head in agreement. "Okay Naruto-kun. I promise I will do it tonight. For you."
This made Naruto smile. Hopefully Hinata could come back tomorrow with a big smile on her face. "Thanks." Naruto kissed the top of Hinata's head and finally felt relief wash over him. "Oh! I made you a cake! I followed your directions down to a T. Do you want to try it? I only have one candle though."
Hinata gasped and looked at Naruto. Shock mixed with happiness was on her face and Naruto deemed that he liked that look. He wanted to make Hinata happy like this all the time.
The two celebrated Hinata's birthday in Naruto's apartment and she left around eight that night. When Hinata got home she went straight into the Hyuga's garden. Near the pond. She pulled out her purple laced kunai and was about to place it exactly where Obito asked her to put it.
"Aww Hinata. You're at the pond? We usually meet outside the compound gates. For some training." A little older, Obito rather enjoyed taking Hinata to go out to train. She was a dedicated learner and always pushed to better herself.
It was amusing to Obito. It filled his boredom as he patiently waited.
While he was rebuilding the Akatsuki. Why not entertain himself and poke into the minds of the growing generation of Konoha? Especially his little minion right here. She did everything he told her to do. She was almost worth taking out of this hell hole before he destroyed it.
When Hinata turned around and looked at Obito, he saw her battered face. Usually her training with her father was typically rough. Not like this though. This looked like he flat out punched her in the face from anger. Like he lashed out at her.
At a nine year old little girl. A full grown man hit a child. A defenseless child.
This world. It made him sick.
Obito kept his mask on as he tilted his head and looked at Hinata. "What happened to your face?" He wouldn't jump the gun and immediately say it was her father. Mentally he has, but he could always be wrong. Certainly there had to be a decent reason on why her face was damaged.
Obito didn't like to see innocent children hurt. Especially when it lacked a purpose.
Hinata looked down at her hands before she looked up at Obito. "My father. Grew frustrated with me today. He believed I was slacking in my training today because it was my birthday."
Obito furrowed his brows together. That's right. He forgot. It is her birthday today. Why would her father do this on her birthday? "Did he…flat out hit you? Don't lie to me either Hinata. Don't cover this up with your typical excuses."
This, he wouldn't allow her to brush off. Even though he was done with this village and the scum that walked in it. This situation, he was willing to invest himself in.
Hinata flinched at Obito's harsh tone. She started to pick with her fingers, but stopped when Obito took her hand and held her fingers. "Please. Just tell me."
Hinata looked up at him and he saw tears in her eyes. She was ashamed of herself. That she was so weak she couldn't defend herself. That she was so mentally weak, she just let her father and family hurt her over and over again. "Yes. I-I…I'm so sorry! I am trying to become stronger so I can handle it alone Obito-sama!"
Obito took a big breath through his nostrils as he looked down at Hinata. She tried to endure. So she wouldn't be a burden. Bless her innocent heart. Still thinking like a child, simply because her father never taught her independence. The man was too controlling. It damaged this little girl before she even had a chance. "How long has he been doing this? Have you always been covering it up as training?"
Hinata lowered her head and weakly nodded in confirmation, as she silently sobbed to herself. Obito pulled her to him and held her close as he let her weep.
What man would do this to their child? Another poor representation of Konoha and their people. The monsters Konoha produces. The monsters this world produces. It was utterly pathetic. If this girl continued to live in that household with that vile man. She would be a shell of a person by the time she graduated the academy. "Did you tell Naruto about this? What did he say?"
Hinata nodded her head and mumbled into his cloak. "He told me to tell you."
Obito slowly nodded his head. That meant the Uzumaki kid knew something could be done. He wouldn't tell anyone about this day. "I think that was a good idea. I'm glad you told me. I want you to go to your room and sleep Hinata. When you wake up. Everything will be better. Your father won't do this again, he might even apologize to you."
Hinata nodded her head again and looked up at Obito. She gave him a small smile as she looked at her friend. Obito and Naruto really cared for her. They really did look out for what was best for her. Hinata never had people care for her like that before.
Hinata went to her bed that night. She had fallen asleep an hour after her conversation with Obito.
The next morning her father was found dead.
On top of that, the Uchiha clan was massacred. The point of blame for both incidents.
Itachi Uchiha.
End of chapter one! I think I am the type of writer to have a slow build up. This will have Naruto and Hinata kind of growing up together. Reaching adulthood together. This isn't the major character death either. Sorry, I made Hiashi bad again.
This will be a 20 chapter story. I'm on like chapter 18 right now, so we're good lol.
I wrote so much about Obito briefly in my other fics. I decided to give him more time here. Wanted to work on writing more Uchiha characters.
More about this fic, and how the flow is gonna go will be on my Tumblr. So, follow Opal-chan there! I want to make this fic ask dark and lovely as possible. I'll upload again on Saturday. After that, once a week, every Saturday.
See you Saturday!
