A/N: It's a short chapter but the rest will be longer.
The Fosters were eating dinner talking about their days. When all of a sudden, Stef realized something. "We haven't done anything as a family in a while." She said, everyone stopped their conversations and looked at her. They realized she was right, they haven't done anything as a family in a while.
"We should go camping." Lena suggested. " There's going to be too many mosquitoes and bugs." Mariana complained. "Why don't we just go to the mall together, and buy a few things." She suggested. "Only you would enjoy that Mariana." Jesus told her.
"Actually, I've been wanting to look for new music equipment." Brandon stated. "Yeah, and a new game just came out." Jude added on. "That's not a bad idea, it's simple and we all spend time together." Lena said. "Callie?" Stef asked. "Sure, let's go." Callie replied. "Fine, only because we're getting a new game." Jesus said.
"Can I invite Dad?" Brandon asked. "Of course, B." Lena responded.
They all arrive at the mall and meet Mike inside. They were trying to decide where they would go first, when Lena remembered something and began searching her purse.
"Is everything ok, honey?" Stef asked her wife. "I forgot my wallet in the car. I'll be right back." She explained. "I'll go with you." Jude offered. "Me too, Jessica is here and I don't feel like arguing with her." Mariana complained.
"We'll wait for you guys." Stef told them. "It's ok, you two go ahead with the rest of the kids." Lena argued before leaving with Jude and Mariana.
"Can we go look at the video games?" Jesus asked. "We have to wait for Mama." Stef told him. "I'll take him, and you guys can catch up whenever the rest get back." Mike offered. "Yeah mom, can I go?" Jesus asked. Stef thought of a second. "Ok, but you have to behave. Thank you Mike." She finally agreed. "Ok, I will." Jesus promised before Mike and him headed towards the game store.
"I'll be right back, I have to use the restroom." Callie told them. "Ok." Stef responded. Callie left and it was Brandon and Stef left.
Stef and Brandon started to discuss possible stores they would all enjoy. Brandon wanted to discuss the band situation, he wanted to try and convince her to let him go, but before he got the chance there was a rumble. The lights went out and suddenly darkness.
Mike and Jesus were looking around, Mike asked what games he usually liked. "Mostly shooting games, like Call Of Duty." Jesus simplified. He wasn't sure if Mike would understand game language. "Is that the kind of game you're looking…" Before Mike could finish his question there was a rumble and then the lights were off. Then darkness.
Callie had just come out of the stalk and began washing her hands. "Oh look, it's the trashy foster girl." She turned her head to see Jessica and two other girls. Everyone at school knew that these three girls were best friends. They were attached to the hip, they also knew they were bullies but because Jessica's father 'invested' into the school, no one told on them. However, Callie didn't care about that, she was used to the bullying.
Callie finished drying her hands and began walking out, until Jessica yanked her back. "Are you deaf? A trashy, foster and deaf girl guess…" She was stopped mid-sentence by the rumbling, then complete darkness.
Lena and the kids were on their way back into the mall when Jude stopped, causing Lena and Mariana to stop as well. "What's wrong Bud?" Lena asked and he pointed to the second floor of the mall.
That's when they saw it, the second floor was slightly cracked. Then it collapsed completely. Instinctively Lena told them to run. The two ran with Lena right behind them.
