Note 1: So, after about a year and a half, SuperEarth is finally back – and a double whammy as there will be TWO stories posted this year, so if you prefer Millie's stories, or don't really like mine… well, tough luck. Haha.
Note 2: I apologize in advance for a lot of the wordiness at the start of this. I'm sure most, if not all of you, have forgotten what SuperEarth is about, who's with who and what's happened, so there's a lot of expositional explanations at the start, but that'll fade away as the chapter goes on and you all get more comfortable with the world once more.
Familial Ties
Early-November 2022
It had been about four months since the birth of Kara and Barry's twins, Avery, and Aiden, and a few more months since they had officially taken in the siblings Zari and Adri after their parents' unfortunate demise, but Barry Allen was content with his life. Not only that but seeing the relationship between the young sisters had reminded him of what he used to have with his actual sister, and he wanted that back.
That was why Barry was now in town with Zari and Adri, along with his own sister, Amelia, better known on this world as Mila. Since she had cut him out of her life, but then been forced back into it due to her move back to Central-National City three months prior, they had made progress in rebuilding their sibling relationship; enough that Mila enjoyed her brother's company, and he enjoyed hers, once more – it had been a very fractured relationship up until she'd returned, and it helped having the children around.
With the four-month twins in the house, Barry had decided to take his girls out to give Kara some bonding time with the twins – plus, they had a house full, what with Kara's aunt Astra, her own adopted mother Eliza, and her long-lost brother Kandar all back at home. Besides, Kara didn't like Mila and Mila wasn't so sure about Kara, so it was better to meet his sister in a public setting than invite her over to the house.
Also, ever since Mila had received the Death Totem – one of the Totems of Zambezi – from a very hilarious-yet-annoying Amaya Tyler and her granddaughter – their superhero, Vixen – Mari McCabe, it had been a top priority to get Mila back to Central-National City where she could be under watch by the DEO and STAR Labs. This was all due to Mila's recent history with the supervillain, Enchantress, and the betrayal of friends and family; so to that extent, Director Alex Danvers had negotiated hard with Doctor Harrison Wells to get her an apprenticeship at the Labs, and thus earning money to afford the small apartment Mila had rented with her girlfriend, Crystal Snow, who herself had a job now serving tables in a local restaurant.
Currently, though, Barry, Mila, Zari, and Adri were in one of the Disney Stores at the local mall, with the young Adri musing over the pile of stuffed animals at the back of the store, while Zari contemplated a Disney princess dress that she liked the look of; Mila wasn't the biggest Disney fan but couldn't deny the magic of the place.
"So… How's Crystal doing?" Barry asked his sister, genuinely intrigued about Crystal. She hadn't wanted to move to Central-National City but had done so for Mila.
"Adjusting. She really didn't want to leave Coast City but understood the reason behind it," Mila sighed, now looking at the Disney Lego sets that the store had. "But getting into the amateur acting society here helped."
"What production are they working on?" Barry asked.
"That Carole King musical. Beautiful. She's playing someone called Cynthia…" Mila put down the Hocus Pocus Lego set she'd picked up, deciding against it.
"That's funny," Barry mused, knowing of the multiverse and a world based, somewhat, on that play – it was one of the other Paragon worlds, the worlds where the saviors of the multiverse called home, so Kara was very close with Kayla Kent of that world and Barry had seen their 'Beautiful' movie that starred his own alternate Barry and Kayla.
"Barry…" Mila voiced, looking to her brother. "How long will this all last? This… city arrest," she referred to the fact she was being closely monitored by STAR Labs and the DEO, of course. There was no formal arrest, but it was understood it was best for Mila to remain close by for now.
Barry sighed back at this. "I don't know…" he admitted. "If you hadn't got the Totem, none of this would have happened."
"Powerless I'm not a danger, but with a power – one that chose me, not that I chose – I'm considered risky," Mila pointed out, annoyed. "I underwent that surgery to remove my brain tumor and get rid of my powers to be free of this," Mila had had an undiagnosed tumor which, when removed, took away the meta human powers she had gained, but having the Death Totem came with powers, which meant the DEO considered her a threat once more.
"I know," Barry agreed at her statement, keeping an eye on the girls as Adri ran to Zari with a giant toy of Pumba, but Zari told her to put it back. Barry smiled at the older sister's responsibility.
"I didn't ask to have the Totem, although Karry Universe's Amelia has been helpful in training me with it," Mila mused.
"What do you think of her?" Barry asked at that. He was curious what his actual sister thought of her alternate and a person he had gotten very close to. "Karry's Amelia?"
"Weird," Mila stated. "Well, weird there's another me, not that she's weird. I get the feeling she's got a lot on her plate now, despite coming from the perfect world," Mila paused. "Well, adopting the perfect world as her own, anyway," she knew the history of that Amelia, having lost her original world, she'd been directed to Karry Universe and adopted it as her own now. "You consider her more of a sister though…" Mila pointed out, airily. "Didn't you go to a Disney Park recently?"
"The other day, yes," Barry nodded, ignoring her tone, and remembering his most recent venture to a Disney with Karry's Amelia. He paused at the look Mila gave him though. "Mila," Barry sighed her name, "I may go to Disney parks with her, but you're my sister," he pointed out, giving her a one-armed hug, which she didn't push away. He saw Karry's Amelia as a sister, too, but he didn't want to admit that to Mila just yet – they were still healing, after all. Mila would eventually have to get used to the multiverse relationships and how they kind of all considered each other siblings now, but that could wait. Plus, Barry had a sly feeling Karry Universe's Amelia liked collecting Barrys anyway.
"I've got say, that's one benefit," Mila stated, now checking out the Hocus Pocus-related jewelry in the store, "being near you," Barry couldn't help but smile at this, "and my adorable nieces – and nephew," she added as Zari came up to the adults.
"Aunt Amelia," Zari began, "did you want that necklace?" Mila was holding one of the necklaces that were on offer; it had Winifred Sanderson on it. Mila smiled at that.
"Not really, sweetie. Do you want to look?" She asked Zari, whom she handed the necklace down to. Despite being called Mila here, Zari and Adri seemed to prefer calling her 'Aunt Amelia' and Mila couldn't help but suspect that was more due to Karry Universe's Amelia, but she didn't want to fight it – there wasn't much point. Besides, the name had a nice little ring to it.
"Daddy Barry!" Adri came running up with the stuffed animals of Perdita and Pongo from 101 Dalmatians. They were much smaller than the giant Pumba she'd found earlier. "Please can we get them?"
"Sure. So long as Zari gets something, too," Barry pointed out, Zari having handed the necklace back to Mila. At this, Zari smirked and moved off with her sister.
"There's just one problem with me being here," Mila now stated to her brother, turning his attention back to her. "Kara."
"Oh?" Barry stiffened up at this. He was even aware of Kara, through their Full Kryptonian Bond, having heard her name mentioned – they had had this mental bond forced on them a few years ago, but they'd adapted well, knowing when to give each other privacy or not; when out with Mila, Barry had noticed Kara's absence in the bond.
"You know she hates me," Mila stated simply to this.
"I wouldn't say hate… that's too strong a word," Barry began.
"No, it's not strong enough I think, sometimes," Mila mused. "Ever since we've moved back here, I've seen Kara once, maybe twice, but she always makes excuses not to see me – I mean, with the twins, understandable, but I know she hates me. To be fair, I'm kind of scare of her these days..." Barry was surprised to find out his sister was scared of his wife, but dismissed this for now.
"She's just not warmed to you," Barry stated, a little uneasily, not sure what else to say to this.
"We used to get on so well before you-know-who," Mila sighed, referencing Enchantress – the advanced meta human had taken Mila's soul, changed her for so long, and altered Mila's life irrevocably. They didn't want to say her name in public, so not to give away the fact she or Barry could be superheroes; the fact there was an Enchantress in 'Beauty and the Beast' wouldn't be a very valid excuse for the name, even here, though. "It must be stressful for you, being pulled between your family and your… well, family," Mila added.
"It's not easy, I will admit," Barry stated, his eyes now on the girls and not his sister as they went through the toys in the toy pit. "But I want to have a relationship with you, and we've made such good progress already," he added.
"We have, definitely," Mila mused, "but with Kara, I want to do something about that," this forced Barry's eyes on her now. "I don't know if she can ever like me, but for you, I want her to get on with me. I'm willing to do that if she is…"
"She's not closed-minded," Barry stated quickly and thoughtfully. "What exactly did you have in mind?"
"Well… if you could maybe arrange for us to meet, maybe in a public setting just in case, and I could offer an olive branch," Mila mused. "I don't know what yet, but I want to do it."
"Just know you can't just blame you-know-who or the loss of your soul for all your actions, that's one thing Kara's brought up more than once when talking about you," Barry pointed out. "You do have to take some responsibility when talking to her, especially with Echo and everything that happened with Mutant Earth."
"True, I suppose… wait, you two have talked about me?" Mila paused at this.
"Not recently, but when you came back here, you were the subject of a few… debates between the two of us," Barry admitted.
"Arguments," Mila sighed, not liking her brother and his wife arguing over her. "I bet she wishes Karry's Amelia was me…"
"Mila," Barry sighed her name again, a little warningly.
"Sorry," Mila didn't meet his eyes at this. "But you got to admit she likes Karry Amelia better."
Barry didn't want to admit it but knew it was true – honestly around the multiverse there had been a theme going around of Karry Amelia being the only normal version.
"Kara has a very special relationship with Karry," Barry settled on; and it was true with Karry Universe being another Paragon world, not that Mila knew what the Paragon worlds were really about.
"Look, I'll try and arrange something with her; I'll keep you informed… Oh, what is it sweetie?" Barry added the last bit as Zari had come back up to him.
"Daddy Barry, Adri's gone missing!" Zari stated, a little dramatically as she held the stuffed toy of another dog – Dug from the movie Up!
"Missing?" Barry paused at this, sharing a look with Mila, who frowned.
"Yes! You've got to come with me to find her," Zari implored as Barry chuckled, knowing Adri wouldn't have gotten far, but also knowing that this had to be a sibling joke, given Zari's over-dramatics.
Zari took Barry's hand, leading her to the back of the shop with Mila following. He eyed the pile of toys, noticing the Perdita and Pongo soft toys on the top of the pile and chuckling to himself as he said loudly, "Oh well, it looks like Adri's lost forever."
"Barry…?" Mila asked, a little confused as laughter was heard from the giant toy pile.
"Come on, Zari, time to leave," he stated, a little louder, very aware he still had some things to buy before they did leave – and that was then the toy pile exploded as Adri jumped up from within, laughing. He ignored the tuts from the staff in the shop.
"Got you!" Adri called as Barry moved forward to pick up the girl and hug her.
"Scared you," Zari added as Mila smirked, bemused by their little stunt.
"Oh yeah, I was terrified I'd lost you," Barry stated to the younger girl. "Come on, what are we getting? Perdy and Pongo for you and… Dug for you, Zari?"
"Dug and Beast!" Zari added, grabbing a Beast toy as well.
"No dress?" Barry asked, knowing Zari was looking for a Princess dress too.
"Not keen on these. Maybe the one you found online…?" Zari asked.
"Not mass produced, I get it," Barry smirked, turning to the kiosk but pausing as he saw something, picking it up from the shelf to pay for it too, while Mila stood back and let her brother and nieces do what they had to do.
Once the items were purchased and bagged, Mila led the way out of the shop but stopped when Barry grabbed her arm and handed her a small Disney bag. "For you," he stated as Mila pulled out the object, curious.
In Disney font, it was a bracelet that had the words 'Siblings Forever' on it. Mila couldn't help but smile at that.
"Karry's Amelia's may be a you, but you're my sister," Barry kissed Mila on the cheek as Zari grabbed his hand, dragging him forward to another shop.

The Kryptonian prison fortress ship, Fort Rozz, had long since crash landed in the desert area outside the combined cities of Central-National, and in more recent years, it had been revitalized as the base of operations for the Justice League. It kept prisoners, still; mainly the more dangerous and alien prisoners, as the others had long since been transferred to DEO facilities nearby.
Security around the former fortress-turned-base was high, but today, somehow, a woman had slipped passed the security, unnoticed. She needed to find someone inside this prison ship, someone who could help her.
"Jax-Ur, where are you…?" The woman spoke in a very British accent. She looked like she was nearing middle-age, with dark attire, dark hair, and bangs, but knew how to slip past the various security measures, unnoticed as she found the list of prisoners and their cells on an abandoned console on a wall. She smirked to herself.
With athletic skills uncommon to her type, the woman ran, then climbed, paused for a moment to avoid a robotic Kryptonian machine – not too dissimilar to Kal-X in the various Fortress's of Solitudes of the multiverse, in which the Justice League had revived in the former fortress prison to keep guard – before stopping in front of the cell she required.
The ship being Kryptonian in nature, the cell wasn't like anything on Earth, or at least, nothing on Earth that came before it. The cell had atypical three walls, but there was a force-field instead of glass or bars, with a control panel on the guard's side of the cell. Inside had been adapted, too, with a red glow emanating from the very walls itself, bathing the woman within in the red light.
"Well, well, well… look at what's become of you," the British woman spoke, forcing the prisoner's blonde head up; she had been sitting, reading a book, not paying attention to the world outside her cell – it wasn't like she had visitors.
"Who are you?" The blonde asked, surprised.
"I'm your friend, Jax-Ur," the woman stated, "or I could be."
"I have no friends," the blonde, Jax-Ur, countered. "How did you get passed the Kryptonian and Justice League security?"
"Oh, I'm very clever," the British woman smirked. "Clever enough to know when to ask for help," as she said this, she raised her arm to show she had some kind of cuff on her wrist. Jax-Ur frowned at this.
"Some sort of power-dampening device?" Jax-Ur couldn't help but be curious, standing up to get a closer look.
"The best kind. Strong enough to block 95% of a Fifth Dimensional Imp's powers," the British woman remarked, causing Jax-Ur to stand back at this.
"You're… you're an Imp?" Jax stated.
"Of course. Nxylgsptinz, or Nxyly for short," she introduced herself. "I was banished to the Phantom Zone and just when I found my escape, I ended up here," Nxyly choose not to go into how Bounty Earth had helped her escape, or how they had sent her here to be dealt with, without warning the world she was coming – that was a bonus, coming here unnoticed. "With most of my powers blocked, I can't leave this world – or return home to the Fifth Dimension."
"And why have you sought me out?" Jax-Ur asked, seeming curious but not overly curious. There was no reason for a Fifth Dimensional Imp to come to her after all.
"Because you have the power to break this thing off me," Nxyly stated. "Kryptonian powers – laser vision, to be precise. It would take all your power, enough power to break this thing and free me, but you can recharge quite happily under the yellow sun."
"Well, unless you're blind as an Earth bat, you'll see that I'm kind of powerless right now," Jax-Ur indicated the cell itself. "Red sun light, emulating the sun of Krypton, rendering me powerless."
"True," the Imp smirked, "but if I just fiddle with this thing, I should be able to free you," she indicated the control panel on the wall that controlled the cell's power and force-field.
"You do that, and you alert every robotic prison guard in this place – plus whoever in the Justice League is close," Jax-Ur pointed out. "You may be a Fifth Dimensional Imp, but with only 5% of your power, you don't stand a chance. Besides, you said you were banished to the Phantom Zone? It means you're as much a prisoner as I am."
"I'm a political prisoner, nothing more," Nxyly dismissed. "The rules of the Fifth Dimension are particularly cruel."
"And you want back there?" Jax-Ur raised her eyebrow at that.
"There's no place like home," Nxyly shrugged at that. "So, will you help?"
"No," Jax-Ur stated. "I don't want out – or my powers back."
"Excuse me?" Nxyly blinked at this statement of Jax's. She hadn't been expecting that, having thought that the Kryptonian they held as a prisoner would be all too willing to help – and maybe even want her own revenge.
"I spent years fighting for an intergalactic game show, Galactic Conquest, just trying to survive; killing challengers, being wounded unnecessarily, nearly dying... Using my powers reminds me of everything I did… every challenger I murdered for them…" Jax-Ur looked down at this.
"You free me… I can change that," Nxyly stated, Jax-Ur pausing at the words. "My powers, when at full strength… I can rewrite history, make it so you were never in that game show. Make it so you lived your life as it should have been…"
"And then who would free you now?" Jax-Ur pointed out. "It would be paradox."
"The Fifth Dimension is outside of time, outside of space. Paradoxes don't touch us," the Imp stated. "So, if you free me, I can free you – of everything."
Jax-Ur had to pause at this. Her life had been one fight after the other, away from Krypton, away from everyone she had loved… an extended life thanks to Galactic Conquest unlocking her Kryptonian powers, but to change that would fundamentally change her, and she didn't know if she wanted that.
"No," Jax-Ur stated, sitting down again. "No. My life isn't perfect, but it's mine. Besides, I would have died with my planet if my life hadn't become this."
"You want to rot away in this prison cell?" Nxyly asked, agitated now.
"No. But with good behavior I may get out eventually – especially if I agree to wear power blockers, keep my powers away, and be a productive member of this society. There is a lot I can add, and I am sure, eventually, the House of El will see that. They will see that I can be an ally and not an enemy," Jax-Ur pointed out.
"Urgh," Nxyly wasn't impressed by this attitude. "You know, I could force you to do it," she now stated, moving toward the control panel on the wall.
"You could turn off the red light, the force-field, grant me early freedom, but I won't use my powers, not even to help you," Jax-Ur stated, arms folded now. "But if you so desperately want to be freed – there is another possibility."
"Superman and Supergirl?" Nxyly guessed. "Impossible. I go to them, I definitely wouldn't get this thing off."
"No, not them. What do you know of the Kryptonian Worldkiller project?" Jax-Ur asked.
"Kryptonian children, grown or taken from their parents… experimented on," Nxyly frowned as she said this. "Usually ran by the Children of Juru… Pathetic excuses of magic users," Nxyly knew a thing or two about Krypton and their own magic users.
"Well, I began the project, but I was taken by Galactic Conquest long before it could be finished," Jax-Ur explained. "My years during the Conquest, many rumors were stated, but one remained strong – that one such Worldkiller was sent from Krypton by the Children of Juru before its destruction. The last I heard, it was sent to this galactic coordinate, that it would have ended up on, or near, Earth itself. If you find the child, you can unlock its powers, and maybe find the freedom you require."
Nxyly paused at this, thoughts running through her head about this new information.
"What else do you know about it?" She asked.
"Just that. Find the Worldkiller, find your freedom," Jax-Ur stated, picking up her book now. "As for me, I'll wait until I earn my freedom," she opened her book at the page she had been on before Nxyly had interrupted her, purposefully not paying attention to the other woman now.
"Find the Worldkiller…" Nxyly muttered to herself now. It seemed that was her only option.
-SuperEarth-
Kara was in her townhouse in the Central part of Central-National City with her four-month-old twins. Barry had gone out with his sister and the older girls to give Kara some much needed time with the twins, although she wasn't alone with them, as she had been joined by her Aunt Astra, her adopted mom, Eliza and even her brother, Kandar.
Aiden was fast asleep in his bassinet, but Avery was crying – loudly. Astra had joined her in the kitchen, while Eliza was sitting in the living room with Kandar, catching up with the adopted son she'd never had.
"You know, this reminds me of your mother when she had you and Kandar," Astra was saying, rocking Avery to try and calm her while Kara sorted out the milk to feed her.
"In what way?" Kara asked; she was tired and had a bit of a short fuse today, but appreciated her family being here, not to mention Barry taking the girls out.
"Well, Kandar was always a quiet little baby but you, Little One, you were always restless," Astra mused as Kara handed her a bottle. She did breastfeed her children, but sometimes bottles of breastmilk were just easier, especially right now.
"I was the restless one?" Kara asked, surprised as Avery took to her bottle, quieting up.
"Indeed," Astra mused, looking down at the little girl. "She looks just like you when you were her age…"
"I'm glad – she is mine," Kara tried to joke, to a raise eyebrow from her aunt.
"It's a shame you don't have our little helper robots here on Earth," Astra now mused.
"The ones Kal-X was based on?" Kara asked, referencing the little robot assistant that was found in the Fortress of Solitude and the Fortress of Solitude.
"Indeed. Your mom and dad were busy, even so soon after yours and Kandar's birth, that those helper robots helped take care of you and Kandar, especially when I… well," she didn't continue, but Kara knew what she meant – Non, her former husband, had been in the picture since Kara and Kandar's birth, which meant the megalomaniac ex-husband of hers was in her life for a long time, controlling her aunt and keeping her from her family.
"Might be something for Barry and Jesse's company to make, especially with their Programmable Matter project," Kara mused, and Astra gave a small smile at that. "Let's go and check up on Eliza and Kandar," Kara decided, about to take Avery from her aunt but decided against it – she looked so happy and motherly, holding her grandniece.
Moving into the living area, was to find the bassinet containing the sleeping Aiden placed between Eliza and Kandar, who were on the couch, talking in low voices so to not wake the boy up. Lara was on the couch, squeezed up between Kandar and the arm rest, her head on Kandar's lap. Eliza and Kandar both looked up when the women walked into the room.
"You look like naughty school children caught by their teacher," Kara couldn't help but chuckle, more to her brother's look than her other mother's.
"Eliza and I were just catching up," Kandar stated, absently stroking Lara's fur.
"But we didn't want to wake the little one up either," Eliza pointed out.
"I see you finally got Avy to sleep," Kandar remarked, already having found a nickname for his niece.
"Bottle of milk always does the trick," Astra pointed out. She and Kandar had long since had their reconciliation, but this was the first time that Eliza had met her adopted daughter's brother, and Kara herself was glad to see the two getting on well.
"Kara, why did you never mention your brother when growing up?" Eliza asked at that, causing Kara to pause at the question.
"I… I thought he was dead," Kara admitted, honestly. "Despite being twins, we didn't get the Kryptonian Bond, so I didn't feel his loss like I would have if we were bonded. Therefore, I also didn't know he was really alive," it was true; not all twins had the Kryptonian Bond; if she and Kandar did, she would never have been able to bond with Barry instead, but she would have also known Kandar had been alive all this time.
"It's not that uncommon," Astra pointed out, given Eliza's frown. "Besides, bonds are more common with identical twins and less common with fraternal twins."
"Exactly," Kara nodded to her aunt, still holding a now-quiet Avery. "Then I spent my first week on Earth with Clark before he gave me to you and Jeremiah, I knew I'd lost everything and everyone but Kal. I couldn't mourn just Kandar and not everyone else I'd lost so I mourned no one," it was ancient history to her now, she'd moved on, "but then I got Alex as a sister and that filled some of the hole left by Kandar." That made Eliza smile, a little. "It was just never something worth mentioning. No offense, Kandar." Her brother gave his sister a shrug, seeming to understand what she meant.
"Kryptonians have a different way of mourning, and of acceptance," Astra added in, to help her niece. Kandar had known this for a while already, luckily, so didn't argue anything.
"Well…" Eliza sighed, not sure what else to say about that.
"Why don't you tell Kara of your new romance?" Kandar spoke up at this, causing both Kara and Astra to pause at this.
"New romance?" Kara asked, shocked by this. She really needed to catch up with her other mother.
"I…" Eliza when red at this, but Kara couldn't help but chuckle.
"I'm glad for you," Kara admitted, truthfully. Losing Jeremiah had been hard for Eliza, but if she was finally moving forward, and that meant the world to Kara.
…
It was about an hour after that awkward conversation that the door to the townhouse opened and Zari and Adri came running in, the former still carrying her toys in their bag, but the latter hugging Perdita and Pongo as she ran upstairs to her room. Barry came in the rear, having said his goodbyes to Mila back at the mall.
"Hi Uncle Kandy!" Zari smiled as Kandar, who waved to his other niece and smiled. Lara had jumped up at the children's return and was wagging her tail as Zari hugged the dog.
"Hello, Zari," Astra spoke, turning the girl's attention from Lara to her. Barry had some shopping bags on him too, which he put down in the hall to sort through later.
"Aunty Astra," Zari smiled before finally acknowledging Eliza, "Nanny Liza," she smiled.
"I still can't get over suddenly having four grandchildren within a year," Eliza pointed out.
"Tell me about it," Astra smirked to Eliza; the human mother of Kara had also long since accepted the role Astra played in Kara's life, being Kara's real mother's twin sister. Eliza knew there was a special bond there that didn't replace or lessen the one she had with Kara.
"Go upstairs and get washed, make sure Adri is washed too." Barry instructed Zari. "I'll start dinner soon," Zari nodded and ran upstairs, Lara now following her up.
"Oh, I'll make something," Eliza spoke up, standing. Barry moved over to pick up the bassinet containing his son. He loved that he had a son, given he also had three girls now.
"You know, I won't fight you on that," Barry stated on Eliza making dinner.
"Me either," Kara remarked.
"How many for dinner then?" Eliza stated, heading toward the kitchen. "Seven?"
"I think so," Kara stated. "Are you staying Kandar?"
"If I'm not overstaying my welcome," Kandar stated.
"Never," Kara smirked.
"Definitely seven," Kara called to her adopted mom – the five adults, plus the two young girls. The babies, of course, were not on solid food yet. As Eliza called a confirmation of this, Kara turned to her husband. "How did things go with your sister?"
"Good," Barry stated. She, urm, wants to meet with you at some point. He added through their bond.
I did hear my name mentioned by her a few times, but ignored it, Kara added back through the bond. You know I still don't like her.
I know, Barry couldn't help but sigh. Did you know she's scares of you?
Scared of me? Kara couldn't help but chuckle at this, but stopped at the look and the vibe Barry came back with at that.
Sorry, it's just... weird, Kara stated.
It is, Barry agreed, but she wants to find mutual ground with you – for me.
Oh? Kara was surprised by that but couldn't help but did smile slightly. Well, if it's for you…
"What are you two talking about?" Kandar was the one to ask that, knowing the pair were talking through their Bond.
"Oh, just girl talk," Barry called back, quickly, to a laugh from Kara – and even Astra, which caused Avery to wake up again, having finished her bottle, and start crying.
"Damn," Astra sighed as Kara moved away from her husband, deciding to take her baby from her aunt. Barry sighed, looking back down at his son in the basinet who was still sleeping, snoring a little.
"Good boy," Barry smirked, tickling the sleeping baby on the cheek.
He was about to head to the bathroom himself at that, putting the bassinet down gently, when his cell phone went off. He chuckled at the name on the screen as he went to answer it. "Speak of the devil," he remarked, as he answered the phone to Amelia Allen of Karry Universe, moving off to another room for somewhere quiet to talk.

Elsewhere in the National side of Central-National City, Alex Danvers was sitting in a café, waiting.
Recently she had reconnected with an old friend and had arranged a meeting with her today. and with their busy schedules – she as Director of the DEO, and her friend as the CEO of a big company – it was hard to get together.
Smiling, Alex stood as the other woman entered the café, instantly seeing Alex and waving as she moved over to hug her old friend. The pair sat at that.
"Samantha Arias," Alex sighed happily as Sam smiled.
"Alexandra Danvers," Sam smirked; as Alex had used her full name, she'd used Alex's full name.
"I can't believe it's been five years since we last met up," Alex stated, ignoring her full name being used.
"Tell me about it," Sam stated. "I'm really sorry about your dad, by the way."
"That's okay. It wasn't completely unexpected," Alex admitted. "You were invited to the funeral…"
"Too tied up, I'm sorry," Sam stated, quickly.
"It's okay. It was a small gathering," Alex stated.
"I did want to come…" Sam tried, but Alex waved this off.
"So, you're the CEO of Luthor Corp?" Alex asked, Sam sitting back at that. "And after everything Lex and Lillian did…?"
"I'm the government-appointed CEO," Sam corrected her friend. "After Lex's death and Lillian's disappearance, the company was left in shambles. I was put in charge of the business and we're slowly clawing it back to what it was – minus the Luthor name."
"L-Corp," Alex smirked, knowing that name.
"L-Corp," Sam nodded. "It would be straightforward if not for the Kiernan woman…"
"Who?" Alex frowned at this.
"Oh yeah, we're keeping it out of the news right now, so top secret," Sam explained, quietly, "but Lionel Luthor had an illegitimate daughter, Lena Kiernan, who wants in on the company. She and her mom have threatened to take L-Corp to court."
"Damn. Poor her," Alex chuckled, causing Sam to smile at the wording.
"Problem is, she actually has a claim. She's technically the last Luthor by blood and she was never legally disowned. A lot of the Luthor fortune could end up in her hands," Sam mused, Alex letting her friend think this over for a moment, knowing Sam was considering her own job as well within the company if this Lena took over.
"Well, it would be fair," Alex voiced, but knowing it wasn't a helpful comment, thinking there was no reason this Lena shouldn't take control. It was her inheritance after all.
"Maybe, but anyway what about you, though?" Sam moved on with the conversation. "Director of the DEO? You work with the Flash and Supergirl?"
"Yeah, it's no secret those two work out of STAR Labs, our former base of operations," Alex chuckled. "They're good though. And their connection to the Justice League helps too…" she didn't want to admit her true connection to Supergirl or the Flash, or the Justice League, but Sam was one of her oldest friends, even if they had lost touch, so it was nice to share some things with her.
"Any boyfriends?" Sam now asked and Alex laughing at her friend's bluntness – they had always been like this, quick to-and-fro, a little like the Gilmore Girls.
"Sort of. John. We have an… open relationship. Well, he sleeps with other people and I… don't," she frowned at this; a frown that Sam shared. "You?" She didn't want to explain the relationship more than that, right now.
"I did have someone but…" Sam sighed. "After we lost the baby, we split up. I've been focusing on work ever since."
"You had a miscarriage?!" Alex was shocked by that.
"Yeah," Sam looked down at that. "But the time wasn't right, so maybe it was blessing in disguise."
"Well, not to blow it in your face but I have three nieces and one nephew now," Alex stated.
"Kara has four children?!" Sam's eye went wide at this, shocked. "I missed a lot in five years…"
"Two they're currently fostering, wanting to officially adopt, but two are twins, born this year. They're all adorable. You should meet them sometimes," Alex stated.
"I'd love to. Anyway, I'm parched. Shall we get a coffee or something?" Sam indicated the counter, as neither had gotten a refreshment yet.
"Good point," Alex chuckled, standing up with Sam to get their hot drinks. It may have been five years since they'd last spoken face-to-face, but already it only felt like five minutes. She loved that.
Post chapter note 1: And there you all have it. Laying the foundations to this story. I hope you all liked this first chapter.
Post chapter note 2: I apologize for the lack of action in this chapter – in fact, there's not much action in part one at all! – but it's all build-up to an amazing showdown and (as yet) final season.
