A Little Hazbin 3: Rise of the Nephilim Ch. 08

Celest is now lying on a bed within the tube.

"How does this thing work exactly?"

A voice of the imp woman sounds from an intercom. "It's simple, Ms. Morningstar. The machine you're in measures the things we can't see with the physical eye. Lets start with a simple question to test how it measures you're brain activity. What's your name?"

"Heh! That's an easy one. It's Celest."

"And is that your full name?"

"Actually, it's Celestial Miraculous Morningstar."

.oOo.

Within the viewing room, the Imp woman gestures to one of the screens showing an image of a brain with certain parts lighting up. "Weird name but who am I to judge. I'm a Mulch myself. If she were lying then this part of the brain would light up instead," Mulch turns to the mothers to see the parents glancing at one another in confusion.

"Did you tell her?" Charlie asks.

"No!" Vaggie shakes her head. "I thought you did?"

Clara turns to them with a titled head. "Is everything alright?"

The couple takes another glance at each other before the Former Exorcists tells them. "That is indeed Celest's full legal name. It's on all of her papers."

"But the thing is…" the Acting Queen confesses. "We've never told her that."

Mulch then speaks up. "Mrs. Carmine. Your majesties," she then points at another screen showing the test subjects face with her eyes closed. "I think she fell asleep."

The mothers forgot their troubles for a moment, seeing their daughter had dozed off again.

"She's probably still hungover," Vaggie comments as she turns to the Carmines. "Yesterday, Celest decided that since she looks like an adult now she can have an adult drink."

"I'm not sure about that?"

"Huh?"

"The prior examinations showed no evidence of a hangover and the blood sample we took had no traces of alcohol," the imp then taps the screen with the brain now having different parts lighting up. "She does appear to be dreaming though," the screen then flickers for a moment catching Mulch's attention and for a brief moment a different image appears.

"Mulch," Clara leans over the computers. "Was that a glitch."

"I don't think so," the imp woman then started typing as the other monitors start doing the same.

"Uh…" Charlie points at one of the screens. "Is it supposed to do that?"

On the screen, it shows Celest walking down the hall of what everyone recognizes as the Hotel.

The Carmines glance at one another before the CEO tells her. "No, it's not." And soon, all the monitors start showing the same thing.

.oOo.

"Hello!?" Celest calls out down the hall. "Anybody here!?" she continues down the hall but stops at the sound of tapping. Turning, the Not-so-Little Hazbin sees the door to her room. As soon as she opens the door, a dove flies at her causing the now grown child to let out a shriek while ducking followed by more doves.

Looking back into her room, Celest sees that her window is open and quickly ran to close.

She sighs, believing it was over but then tapping continues as the doves hit the window. Soon, the window shatters as an entire flock flies in and surrounds her.

Celest tried running way but is met face first with a glass wall. She places her palms over the wall before black sand falls over her head. The Not-so-Little Hazbin is within an hourglass where the sand in the top part is white.

The hours glass is then tipped over, pouring out the sand and Celest.

"Ow!" the grown child lets out as she fells on her butt. "I should just start wearing padding at this point," glancing up, Celest finds herself sitting in the middle of a crossroad.

Then, the ground starts rumbling as it breaks apart revealing blood red light just as the skies crack with golden light.

.oOo.

The machine explodes with red and gold light and the glass window of the viewing room shatters and everyone covers their faces as a result.

"Celest!" Charlie shouts as she looks towards her daughter but is surprised to see the broken glass floating in front of them.

Beyond where the window used to be, with machine parts surrounding her, Celest is hovering mid air in her full Nephilim form, but this time is different. Both eyes are glowing. One red the other gold, and the ball of light that usually floats in her halo is now being held mid air above the palms of her hands, rapidly shifting between red and gold.

The parents ran into the room.

Vaggie shouts. "Celest!?"

"CelEstIAl miraCulouS MORninGStar!" a voice leaves their daughter, but it does not belong to her. "naMed AfTer tHe HeEAVenS! NamEd aFteR The MiRacaLe oF HeR BiRTh! NAMed after thE fAMilY WhoM shE ShareS bLoOD WitH! TheRe iS a CHoiCe tO bE MAde anD ThE NepHiLiM mUSt ChOoseE!"

The ball of light fades as Celest's eyes close and she goes limp before falling to the ground as do the machine parts around her.

Both mothers shout. "Celest!" as they run up to her unconscious daughter.

"Come on, Sweetie," Charlie cradles her. "Please be okay."

Suddenly, Celest gasps for air as she jolts up seemingly confused about the area around her. "Mom?" she turns to her parents. "Mama? What happened?"

Vaggie runs a hand through her now grown daughter's hair. "We're not sure, Honey," she then turns to her wife. "Charlie. I know that you don't want to bother your parents but…"

"I know, Vaggie," the Acting Queen stands up, while assisting her daughter as well. "Let's get to the Hellevator. We're going to see Grandpa and Grandma," and starts leading them out.

The family briefly stops in front of Clara and Velvette and Charlie bows. "Thank you for helping and sorry about your tube thing."

"It was nothing," Clara tries waving it off despite her eye twitching. "It was only half a billion gone to waste."

Hearing that, Velvette turns to her wife with an incredulous look.

"What!? You know as well as I that the research alone wasn't cheap. Can you imagine what the actual machine costs?"

Soon the family was gone, and Velvette leans her head on the CEO's shoulders. "I know, Vee. I hope everything turns out okay for them as well. Especially Celest," Clara wraps an arm around her wife's face and lets out a sigh. I kinda want a little one now."

Velvette looks up at her in surprise before smiling and kissing her.
