Prologue
She tried to control her heavy breathing as best she could as she slowly slithered through the quiet, unnerving hallways, the only sounds being her footsteps and the flickering of the ceiling lights.
The snivy poked her head out from a corner to spot the front doors unguarded, taking her chances. She speed-walked towards them but froze in her steps from fear when she heard a door open to her right, only to find that it opened on its own. The snivy sighs in relief as she heads for the front doors again.
She peeks out to check if anyone is outside before making her way out. As she slowly walks down the entrance stairs and into the sidewalk, a voice calls out to her, which makes her twirl around in fear. "Isabelle, don't do this." The voice spoke out, revealing itself as a Kantonian vulpix, giving her a stern yet worried look. "Do you know what they'll do to us if they find out you escaped?"
"Daigo, they don't treat us normally anymore. We're like prisoners to them." Isabelle quietly retorts. She hides something in her dress as Daigo takes a step forward. "I'm trying my hardest to keep them from mistreating you! its just...I-" Daigo would be at a loss for words as Isabelle started to take a few steps back. "I'm sorry, Daigo." With those words, she picked up her pace and ran as far as she could as the vulpix tried to follow behind her. "Wait no! Isabelle!" he yelled out as he lost sight of her within the city's dark ambience. Daigo would begrudgingly return to the building and, in a slight fit of anger, punch a nearby wall, leaving a huge hole in the shape of his fist. ...
