Chapter 34: Orion Pax Part 3

The time went by slowly as everyone waited for the two wheeler and teen to call back.

"Arcee and Jack haven't said anything in a while," Sierra said, "you think everything's okay over there?"

"I'm sure they're okay," Stormracer told her friend, "they're probably still a ways away from Vector Sigma."

Bulkhead looked at the others. "So, when we get the matrix back here, how do we find Optimus?" he asked.

"We'll find a way," Bumblebee said.

"Bumblebee is right," Ratchet said, "once we have the matrix, we will continue our search for Optimus."

Just then Jack's voice came in through the commlink with the sound of a fight happening in the background. "We're being attacked by some kind of, giant bot beetle!" he said.

"An insecticon!" Ratchet said.

"A what?!" June asked.

"What are decepticons doing on Cybertron?" Raf asked.

"A few remained in stasis, centuries, should the enemy return," the medic explained.

"Jack, go!" Arcee shouted from a distance.

"Seriously?!" Jack exclaimed.

"Without Arcee?!" June asked, "she's his guide."

"No, Nurse Darby, Arcee is Jack's backup," the medic said, "the key card is his guide."

"Do it!" Arcee shouted.

"Listen to her, Jack," June said, "you've made it this far. Optimus is counting on you."

After a pause, Jack said, "Roger that, mom."

The others heard more fire blasts before the call cut out.

(Autobot Base)

Everyone quietly waited for the boy to call back. As she waited, Sierra soon found herself nervously biting her nails, making her fold her arms as she continued staring at the computer. No matter how many times she tried telling herself everything was okay, she was worried for the two. She was worried for Jack.

After a long while, Jack finally contacted them. "Hey, everyone. I'm in."

"Sweet!" Miko cheered.

Happy to hear his voice, Sierra smiled. "You got this," she told him.

(Decepticon Mine)

"Commencing download," the boy reported, "I think."

"You hear that?" Stormracer said to the others excitedly, "we're getting Optimus back!"

She, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead cheered as they high fived one another. Ratchet even smiled as he looked at the screen.

"Soon Optimus," he said quietly.

Time went by as they waited, unable to see what Jack was seeing.

"This is taking a while," the human boy said.

"Of course it is," Ratchet said, "we are talking about the collective wisdom of the Primes."

Just then they heard Jack yell before hearing a bunch of whirling sounds.

"What is it, Jack?!" Ratchet asked.

"Scraplets!" the boy said.

"What's a scraplet?!" June asked.

"Why did it have to be scraplets?!" Bulkhead said.

"If they chew through Vector Sigma before the Matrix fully reloads..." Ratchet started to say.

"So, Vector Sigma is more than legend!"

Hearing Megatron's voice, the bots turned around to see the decepticon leader stepping out from a ground bridge portal.

"Uh oh," Stormracer said fearfully.

The portal closing behind him, Megatron glared at the bots. "You autobots have gone through impressive lengths to recover your leader," he said, "be assured, I shall never underestimate you again."

The bots glared back at him as he approached.

"Now, I assume the one called Arcee will be stepping through that portal, with a reloaded Matrix of Leadership in hand," the con said.

"We hold the spacebridge at all cost!" Ratchet ordered. Bulkhead and Bumblebee activated their blasters and began attacking as Ratchet looked at Stormracer. "Take cover!" he told her before joining the fight.

Stormracer fearfully watched as the bots tried to take down the decepticon leader, but he was too strong for them. Bulkhead was the first to go flying back before Megatron threw Ratchet away. Bumblebee fired at him, only for the con to grab him and throw him across the floor. The three continued getting back up to fight again, but Stormracer knew it wouldn't last long.

"You're going down, Bucket Head!" Bulkhead yelled as he tackled Megatron. The two fought until Megatron punched him hard, making the wrecker fly back again. The green autobot down, the con readied his cannon to finish him off.

"Hey!"

Megatron looked over just as an EMP pulse hit him in the head, making him yell as he held his helm. The con now dizzy from her attack, Stormracer transformed and sped forward, ramming herself into the back of his leg and making him trip and fall onto his back. She spun around and went to charge at him again, but Megatron quickly recovered and activated his blade. Stormracer shrieked as she moved out of the way before he could slice her in two. She drove around the con as he got back up and tried to strike her again. She was able to dodge as she kept driving around him, annoying him even further. Letting out an angry yell, Megatron fired multiple blasts at her. Stormracer continued to dodge, but a blast still hit her, making her cry out in pain as she swerved and transformed. Tumbling to a stop in bot mode, she groaned as she tried getting back up, only for her to be roughly grabbed by the neck and hoisted up into the air. Megatron tightened his grip, making her release a choking sound as he glared at her.

"It appears I can't underestimate you as well, underling," Megatron said. He evilly grinned. "I never did thank you for helping me recover my body, did I? You made a fine puppet."

"Let her go!" Ratchet shouted as he rushed over, the other two right behind him.

Stormracer was thrown away as Megatron charged at them. She let out a grunt as her body hit the rock wall, her helm even hitting it before she fell to the ground. She blacked out for a while before she came to. Her vision slowly coming back, she saw the others were down as the warlord stood in front of the spacebridge portal with his blade ready. Just then a portal opened behind him, making her look to see a familiar face stepping out of it. Thinking she was hallucinating, she rubbed her optics and looked back up. Her optics widened. She wasn't hallucinating at all. There was Optimus standing there, facing Megatron. She watched as the autobot leader activated his blades and charged, but the amnesiac bot was taken down in an instant with one blow to the torso. Scared for his life, the femme forced herself up.

Orion was down on his servos and knees as Megatron cracked his neck. "Your spark may be in the right place, Orion," he said before hitting the archivist again, making him fall to the ground, "but you have much to learn before you can hope to ever again stand your ground against me." He pointed his blade at him. "A moment, sadly, which will never come."

Just then a grappling claw came flying from the side and latched itself onto his arm, pulling the blade away from Orion. Megatron looked over, seeing the teal femme standing there as she pulled on the cable.

"Get away from him!" Stormracer said angrily.

Megatron growled as he charged up his cannon to fire at her. Orion immediately got back up and pushed his arm away, making the blast miss her by an inch. The claw detaching itself, Stormracer shrieked as she fell onto her back.

Orion was immediately shoved back to the ground. Megatron towered over him as he raised his blade over his helm. Just then Arcee came speeding in through the spacebridge portal. Transforming, she tackled Megatron just in time, sending the both of them flying forward and away from Orion.

Her grappling claw back in her compartment, Stormracer rushed over to the red and blue bot.

"You okay?!" she asked as she helped him up.

Now on his knees, he looked at her and nodded. "I think so," he said.

Stormracer smiled as she immediately hugged Orion, surprising him in the process.

"I know you don't remember me, but I am so happy to see you!" she said.

Soon as she pulled away, both looked to see Jack stepping out of the portal. The boy looked at the autobot leader and pulled out the key card, now fully loaded with the Matrix.

Orion looked at Stormracer before looking back at the human. "Are you... certain I am worthy?" he asked.

"You have no idea," Jack said. Holding up the key card, a beam of energy shot out from it and into the bot's chest. Orion's chest plate opened, revealing the matrix container as the key uploaded itself into it.

Arcee continued fighting the warlord until Megatron managed to grab her and slam her against one of the structures.

"How nice of you to join our little reunion," Megatron said, "now if you please, the matrix!" Hearing a sound coming from behind, he turned around to see the human boy restoring the Matrix into Orion. Realizing his mistake, Megatron dropped Arcee and ran towards the three. Ratchet got up and went to stop him, only for Megatron to back hand the medic, sending him flying back and out of the con's way.

Seeing Megatron rushing over towards them, Stormracer stood up and got herself between him and Orion as she fired her EMP. Megatron blocked her attacks with his arm as he activated his blade, ready to slice the femme in half. The blade coming down at her, Stormracer shielded herself with her arms as she closed her optics. She heard a sound, but didn't feel anything. Opening her optics, she lowered her arms to see the red and blue bot in front of her, having used his servos to stop the blade as he glared at the warlord.

"Megatron!" Optimus Prime said before his battle mask slid over his mouth, "Be gone!" He punched the decepticon leader, making him stagger back as he delivered another punch. Everyone else started getting back up as they watched their leader taking on Megatron. With one hard upper cut, Optimus sent Megatron flying back and into the rock wall.

"Woo!" Stormracer cheered as she and Jack smiled.

Everyone got to the Prime's side as they activated their weapons.

"Ratchet, how did we arrive here?" Optimus asked.

"Long story, old friend," the medic told him.

"Base to Arcee," Agent Fowler said, "we're reading six autobot life signals down there. Is Prime with you?"

"And Jack," she said.

Megatron climbed back onto the platform, an angry growl escaping from his mouth as he glared at his enemies.

The bots fired their weapons as a groundbridge portal opened up beside them.

"It's ours!" Arcee said.

"Autobots, fall back!" Optimus ordered.

Deactivating her blasters, Arcee scooped Jack up and quickly made her way through the portal.

"And this time, he's coming with us!" Bulkhead told Megatron as he, Bumblebee, Stormracer, and Ratchet followed after the two wheeler. Megatron fired his fusion cannon as he charged at the Prime. Firing a few more shots, Optimus leaped into the portal before it closed. His greatest enemy now fully restored, Megatron let out a yell of fury.

(Autobot Base)

The humans rushed over to the groundbridge as they waited for the team to come back. They didn't have to wait long as Arcee and Jack made their way through the portal.

"Jack!" June said happily. She ran over and hugged her son as the other bots walked into the base. Soon after the nurse pulled away from Jack, Sierra made her way over and hugged him next.

"Nice job, Hotshot," she said.

Jack smiled as he hugged her back.

All eyes/optics then turned to Optimus as he made his way through the bridge before it died down. Stopping, he looked around before looking at the others.

"Optimus?" Rafael asked.

The Prime smiled at him. "Hello, Rafael."

"The big guy remembers us! Wahoo!" Miko cheered.

Optimus looked at the decepticon emblem on his shoulder and frowned. "Although it seems there is much I do not remember."

"Optimus," Ratchet said, "it has truly been our darkest hour, but know this, from every indication, your spark never ceased being that of an autobot."

Optimus smiled at him and everyone else. Happy to have their leader back, the team gathered around and told him everything that had happened while he was gone.

(Time skip)

Once things quieted down, Sierra walked up onto the platform to find Jack lounging on the couch. "Hey," she said.

The boy looked at her and smiled. "Hey."

"Well, you did it," she said as she sat down beside him, "Optimus is back and everyone's okay."

"Yep," he said as he sat up straight, "everything's back to normal."

She let out a slight chuckle. "Yeah, back to normal. You did good."

"Thanks," he said, "I'm just glad we got the big guy back. Being on Cybertron was also-"

He was interrupted as Sierra leaned over and kissed him, making his eyes go big and his face heat up. He remained like this even after she pulled away.

"... Whoa," he finally said.

"Is that a good whoa, or a bad whoa?" she asked.

"Uh- no, no! I-It was a good whoa, a r-really really good whoa!" he stammered as his cheeks turned more red. "W-what, uh, brought that on?"

"When you were on Cybertron, I was worried for you," she said, "and the thought of you being in trouble made me realize, well, I have for a while now, but... today I realized how much I really like you."

Jack was almost speechless as he regained his voice. "R-r-really?" he asked.

"Well, yeah," she said, "I mean, you're smart, kind, caring, and I really like spending time with you."

Hearing her say that made him smile. "I-I really like you too," he said.

"I know," she said with a chuckle, "you made it painfully obvious since day one."

He blushed as he laughed a little. "Okay, so, talking to girls isn't my best trait."

"No," Sierra said, "but, it's kinda cute."

Jack smiled at her as he bashfully rubbed the back of his head. "So, uh, I guess you wanna go out for pizza sometime?" he asked, "you know, just the two of us? On a date?"

She chuckled at him. "I would love to," she said.

"Hey!" Raf said as he and Miko made their way over and sat down beside them, "so what was it like on Cybertron?"

Jack and Sierra looked at one another. The redhead smiled as she nudged the teenage boy. "Go on, tell us about Cybertron," she said.

Jack smiled back before telling them all about his experience.

And that was the last part of Orion Pax and yep, Sierra and Jack are now a couple! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Next chapter is Operation: Bumblebee Part 1. Also, two more chapters until we bring not only Wheeljack back, but also bring in Dreadwing, who is one of my favorite characters! Can't wait to type out his interaction with Stormracer.
