[Magic]

'I could be studying magic right about now…'

In a royal study room, located inside the castle that no doubt belongs to a royal family, a young blue-haired boy, about 7 years old, looked incredibly bored and unamused. He was forced to watch and pay attention to his tutor, who was currently teaching the ways of being a proper prince and how to do royal things.

'I mean, I appreciate the pros of being the Prince, having wealth, resources, and of course, a personal library filled with so much magical knowledge.'

The child was known as Lloyd De Saloum, the 7th Prince to the crown, and he was someone known for always practicing and learning everything related to magic ever since he was born.

'But jeez, doing stuff that actually involves you being a proper royal Prince, it's so exhausting.'

Which was why Lloyd was very disappointed and unhappy to be forced to learn something that he had zero interest in.

'I just wish there was something to distract me from this boring moment of my life…'

But luckily for Lloyd, instead of suffering and dying from absolute boredom, he suddenly tensed up and looked out the window with wide eyes, as if sensing something that caught his full attention and interest.

'Oh? This magic, it's so…'

"-And with that, as you see, being a Prince is more than just- Lloyd? Where did you go?"

The tutor was about to ask Lloyd a question and teach more lessons about being a prince, but just as they were about to talk to the young boy, they stopped and looked very startled once they realized that the blue-haired child was gone.

"Useless, useless, useless."

Inside a public library, well, inside a nearly destroyed library, a certain familiar magic man could be seen looking through multiple books and Tomes, all of them about magic, yet each one that he looked through was completely pointless, making him very upset to not find something of use.

"All of this knowledge of magic is nothing more than children's picture books."

After Hex threw away all the books after finding nothing, he turned around and glared at a librarian, who attempted to sneak away, but unfortunately didn't get far before the Professor of Magic aimed his "Staff of Ages" at the librarian and used some kind of telekinetic magic to bring him close to himself.

"You! Reveal to me your most advanced and sacred of Tomes."

The Librarian was about to scream and yell out for help, but was slapped by Hex, which did shut them up and could only look at him in fear.

"Don't bother wasting your breath, I cast a spell to not only prevent anyone from hearing your screams but also make the outside world unable to enter this pathetic excuse of a library."

Hex grabs the face of the librarian forcefully and forces them to look into his narrowed and dangerous expression and eyes.

"Now tell me what I want to know, before I place a curse on you…"

"Can you place a curse on me instead?~"

However, before Hex could continue to interrogate the librarian, both were interrupted by a certain childish voice. Both turned around and were met with Lloyd himself, who looked down at them from above with a very curious and excited expression.

"Impossible, no one should be able to bypass my barrier..."

Hex tossed away the librarian and looked at De Saloum with a shocked and confused face.

"I will admit, your barriers are definitely more unique and potent in comparison to my own."

Lloyd looks around the magical dome that surrounded the library as if he was admiring it, even praising how detailed and well made it was.

"But you failed to put enough mana into your spell to prevent someone like me from entering~..."

Though that didn't stop Lloyd from sticking out his tongue and teasing the Master Magician.

"Begone child, I don't have time to play such games with you, so leave before I make you regret it."

Hex only responded to the teasing with a verbal warning, his body surrounded itself with a deadly magical red aura.

"Make me regret it, I beg of you~"

And Lloyd responded with an eager smile as his own body surrounded itself in a more colorful magical aura.

"[Emocha Objectia]"

Seeing that Hex's warning was being ignored, he decided not to hesitate in punishing the 7th Prince by casting a spell that shoots a red magical blast at him, hitting him straight into his chest, with enough force and power to knock him against the wall, cough up spit, burn his shirt to expose his chest, and most likely break a few of his ribs.

"Wow! A blast made from pure magical energy! How interesting!"

But instead of crying in pain, Lloyd's face could only brighten up in response, as if happy to not only see a wonderful magical spell, how it felt when used against his body.

"And so potent as well!"

Lloyd couldn't stop himself from smiling and giggling in excitement, which made Red Wizard raise an eyebrow.

"Hm, looks like you're more talented than most, especially in this realm's standard."

But Hex didn't care what Magical Boy was talking about, as he was more focused on the fact that the child was able to not only survive, but continued to act as if he was fine.

"Might have to put more effort into punishing you then."

Which did make Hex be more on guard, preparing himself and aiming his Staff of Ages at De Saloum.

"Yes! Please Don't Hold Back!"

Which Lloyd returns the favor in kind, getting himself out of the wall, lifting up a hand, which had a complicated magic circle above it, and then looking at the Professor of Magic with a face that could only be described as "Insane Eagerness And Interest".

"I Wanna See Everything That You Can Do!"

The magic circle on Lloyd's hand then grew bigger and hotter, as he then aimed it at Master Magician.

"[Faiakurasu No Jumon: Hinotama!]"

Once Lloyd finally casts his own magical spell, the magic circle then shoots a very large and powerful fireball. The heat alone was enough to burn nearby books and wood, as well as melt any metals or rocks close by. But when it hit the Red Wizard, all it did was make one of his Charms glow and hit his magic barrier instead, leaving him completely unharmed.

'So he also has barriers active all the time as well, though it feels like it came from an outside source?'

Though seeing how the Professor of Magic was able to defend himself from such an attack only made Lloyd more curious and ready to learn from his opponent.

"Let me show you a true burning fire, child."

Hex meanwhile remains unimpressed as he aimed his Staff of Ages at the 7th Prince.

"[Bethi Mordor Natta]"

And after Hex cast his next spell, the mouth of his staff then shoots out red flames at the Magical Boy.

"[Mizu Keitō Majutsu: Jundo Jōshō!]

Lloyd tries to cast and shoots out large amounts of water in the hopes of putting out the fire, though as soon as the water hits the fire, it instantly turns into steam and just hits him instead.

'Wow! To just turn my water attack into steam, how wonderful!'

Luckily for Lloyd, instead of taking the hit again, the red flames just hit a magic barrier this time and left him completely unharmed.

"Barrier huh? Not bad, but nothing I haven't faced before."

This time, Hex was slightly impressed to see that De Saloum could also put up strong barriers, though he wasn't worried about it in the slightest.

"[Küd-Zuu Teqkk]"

Especially since Hex could cast a spell that was specifically made to destroy magic barriers.

"A spell specifically meant to destroy barriers, how neat!~"

But the more that Master Magician shows off his power and skills, the more excited Lloyd gets.

"[Tara Tremmo Eradico]"

"[Kaze Keitō Majutsu: Shissō!]

Hex then used his magic to break apart all the objects and items nearby, making them sharp like blades, and then shot them all at Lloyd like projectiles, which did force him to fly around to avoid such attacks.

"[Hōkai Baria!]"

And while dodging getting shot at, Lloyd quickly begins to cast another spell, a spell that was also meant to shatter protective barriers.

"Didn't think I could do the same thing too, huh?~"

Lloyd smirks at the Red Wizard, who only glared in annoyance.

"[Āsukurasu No Jumon: Shingeki'gan-ga!]

Lloyd's next magic casting was him making all the stones and rocks come out of the ground and shoot towards the Professor of Magic. Before they could hit him, another one of the Charms around his neck glowed, and all of the stone attacks that were about to hit him suddenly missed and didn't touch him at all.

"I missed?"

This honestly confused Lloyd, clearly wasn't expecting to miss hitting his target.

"[Bellum Ocorro Mazzura]"

But Hex used this confusion to his advantage, as he then used another type of magic to bring random objects to life, which they were then used to catch and stop the flying 7th Prince.

'To bring life to objects, this is definitely something I haven't seen before!~'

As per usual, Lloyd was enjoying all the magic that was being shown to him, despite the obvious danger he now found himself in, which made the Master Magician roll his eyes.

"[Fah Me Doof]"

"[Ju Keitō Majutsu: Ki-katashiro!]"

Hex then cast a spell that caused a large explosion, which he used on Lloyd, though instead of seeing at least a badly injured body, he was only met with a wooden doll that resembles the person he tried to hurt.

"I'm still practicing on making it more realistic."

Lloyd could be seen floating harmlessly behind the Red Wizard, once again left unharmed, though his clothes did look more ruined.

"Then let me help you make a proper golem."

Hex huffs as he then slammed his Staff of Ages on the ground.

"[Silicis Miles Suscitatio]"

And then a few portals opened around the Magical Boy, as Hex large stone Golems came out of the portal and surrounded his opponent.

"Golems?! No Fair! I Wanna Learn That To!"

Seeing this, Lloyd couldn't help but act childishly and express extreme jealousy, and he whined about seeing something he couldn't do yet. The Professor of Magic just huffed in response and gestured to the Golems to attack him.

"[Shintai Kyōka!]"

Before one of the Golems could throw and land a harsh punch on Lloyd, he quickly used magic to increase his physical strength and effortlessly blocked the stone fist from hitting him. The Golem was only left with wide eyes in shock before getting punched in the chest by the young child, shattering the rock monster into pieces. This definitely startled the other Golems, who stepped away in fear. However, they weren't really given a chance to react before also being smashed and shattered in the same way. Once they were all taken down and reduced to a pile of rubble, the blue-haired boy then changed his attention back to the Master Magician, quickly charging towards his opponent and attempting to deliver a full-strength punch to his face, but was effortlessly caught by said enemy.

"[Bunseki Kurasu: Seisa Suru]"

Though Lloyd just used this opportunity to get a closer look at the Charms around the Red Wizard neck, once again seeing them glow again, casting a spell and in an instant, he was able to understand what they were.

"Charms of Bezel? Woah, they're just like enchanted weapons, but more detailed, advanced and powerful!~"

And what Lloyd found out, his fascination couldn't help but grow more and more.

"You gotta share with me the secrets on how to make them!~"

Lloyd then looked at Professor of Magic with a very excited smile and started to beg to learn more about how the Charms of Bezel came to be.

"Not even in your next life, foolish child."

Hex growls and glares more at De Saloum, finding his insane eagerness to learn very annoying.

'Hehe, he has no idea~'

Lloyd couldn't help but laugh to himself, as if finding what the Master Magician said ironically funny.

"[Retov Alagoria]"

Hex, while still having a tight hold on the 7th Prince, cast his next spell that made all the metal poles shoot out from the surrounding area and pierce all throughout the body of the child.

"[J-Jutsu Shiki Haki…]

But despite suffering such injuries, Lloyd was able to make a counter attack and cast a spell that delivered multiple cuts and serious damage to the Red Wizard, this caused him to both fall over and drop the young boy, now both were seen on the ground and currently bleeding out.

"... I seem to have underestimated you, child."

Though only one of them seemed to have recovered first, that being Hex and thanks to one of his Charms, which instantly healed any serious damage he had suffered.

"Tell me your name."

Hex then sits up and looks at the bleeding out Magical Boy, laying on the ground and pools of his own blood.

"L-Lloyd De Saloum, t-the 7th P-Prince to the throne..."

Lloyd weakly spoke and coughed up blood, as he looked and watched the Professor of Magic levitate and float up high in the air, thanks to another Charm of his.

"Well then, Lloyd, you are someone who desires to learn all kinds of magic, right?"

Hex reaches out a hand and then summons "Archamada Book of Spells".

"Then let me show the last type of magic you will ever see."

Once the Archamada Book of Spells was in Hex's hand, the "Keystone of Bezel" then began to glow and light up all of his other Charms all at once, as the book itself then opened up and flipped through the pages rapidly.

"Something befitting for someone of your caliber."

Hex's aura around his body grows brighter and bigger when he uses both the Keystone and Book at the same time.

"[Botigs Zaborito]"

Once fully powered up, Hex began to chant the last biggest spell that he has shown so far.

"[Carpis Nebegear]"

Multiple large magic circles floated and surrounded Hex, as more and more power was getting channeled and charged up.

"[Gais Liphan]"

Such magical energy was so intense and wild that it shook the entire library, and even left a few cracks on the barrier that Hex himself had made.

"[INTRUDERS UTIEN!!!]"

But after finally finishing the spell, all the magic power that Hex was summoning had gone into the Staff of Ages and shot out the largest attack ever made by him at De Saloum.

"Amazing~..."

Which Lloyd could only look at with pure blissful amazement, before finally getting engulfed by said attack, resulting in a large explosion that practically destroyed the entire inside of the library, leaving nothing but a huge crater with nothing in it.

"That boy was sure something else.'

Once the dust had settled and the target seemed to be gone, Hex was able to land back on the ground and fall to his knees, having to use the staff to keep himself from falling.

'That spell took everything that I had.'

As Hex tries to catch his breath, he looks back at the destroyed area and frowns lightly to himself.

'How unfortunate, to destroy someone with such a bright future…'

Hex sighs in disappointment as he then stands back up to his feet after having a chance to recover.

"No matter, I need to leave and recover my strength."

Once Hex felt like he could walk on his own, as well as making sure he had what he needed in his hands, he turned away and was about to leave.

"I wonder if his castle will have what I'm looking for-"

"[Faiakurasu No Jumon-Sai'jōi Majutsu: Shōnetsu'en-ga~]"

But as soon as Hex took a single step forward, a certain familiar voice caused him to go wide-eyed and tense up, a mistake he would soon regret, as he unfortunately stopped just in time to have a magic circle appear under him and burst his entire body into flames, seemingly controlled fire as it didn't touch the Staff of Ages, the Archamada Book of Spells, and the Charms and Keystone of Bezel. However, the main body wasn't so lucky, since once the fire stopped, all that was left was a badly burned wizard, who then falls over in pain and agony.

"It seems that your Charm of Reincarnation needs to recharge, how interesting."

The injured Magician only had enough strength to look up and see a completely healed and uninjured Lloyd standing over him with a simple cute smile, as if he hadn't just burnt someone alive.

"H-How do y-you still live?..."

Hex gasps and struggles to understand how the 7th Prince was left unharmed after such a devastating attack.

"Wasn't easy, had to quickly use both my barrier and healing magic before your spell could hit me."

Lloyd was nice enough to explain to the burnt-out man, as he kneeled down before him and looked at him with interest.

"If only there was a way to combine or chant two spells at the same time, it would definitely have helped me back there."

As Lloyd rubbed his chin and hummed, making a mental note to find out ways to make using multiple spells easier, the sound of painful coughing and grunts brought the blue-haired boy out of his thoughts and made him look back at the barely alive crispy Wizard.

"Awww, don't tell me you're all out of juice already."

Lloyd pouts when he realizes that the Magician was too out of it to be interesting anymore.

"That's too bad, because there was so much I wanted to learn from you."

Which made Lloyd sigh in disappointment.

"Oh well."

Though disappointment soon turns into something very eager and sadistic, as Lloyd looks back at his burnt friend with a large smile.

"I guess I'll just take your "Keystone and Charms of Bezel", "The Staff of Ages" and "Archamada Book of Spells", as well as using your corpse for my experiments."

The way Lloyd spoke about shamelessly stealing and experimenting on the Wizard body made him go wide-eyed in shock and horror.

"I'm gonna have so much fun learning everything that remains of you~..."

Though, just as Lloyd was about to reach out to do just that, a new and unfamiliar voice could be heard and caught both of their attention.

"[I-Interdamoto Ilabortor!]

As well as an energy blast being launched straight at the Magical Boy, which unfortunately did absolutely nothing thanks to his barrier.

"Hm?"

Lloyd then looks away from Hex and analyzes the new challenger who wanted to stop De Saloum from doing anything horrible. This said someone was a young girl, about the same age as the 7th Prince, with white long hair, purple pink clothes and eyes, also had a staff, known as the "The Staff of Spellbinding", and a living magical bag of holding known as "Chag". Though what stood out the most for the blue-haired boy was her magic, and how it might be potentially stronger than the Master Magician he just defeated.

"S-Stay Away From My Uncle!"

This takes place before Lloyd meets his maid, if you read the manga you'll understand, and Charmcaster is the same age as Lloyd.

(BTW possible romance between Lloyd and Charmcaster, anyone against it?)

/Hex Main Abilities\

Charm of Luck: Give Hex a high level of luck.

Charm of Reincarnation: Can heal and sometimes revive Hex, though the Revival could only be used once per day.

Charm of Levitation: Hex can make himself float and fly around.

Charm of Enhancement: Makes Hex stronger than the average person and then some.

Charm of Protection: Hex is usually protected by a magical barrier.

The Keystone of Bezel: Both enhance all of Hex's Charms, but can also be used to make new ones if they are destroyed.

The Staff of Ages: Used to strengthen Hex's magic and be used to properly aim at targets.

Archamada Book of Spells: Not only does it contains a lot of Spells, but can be used to enhance magic powers whoever holds the book.
