A/N: Hey! It's been a long while, hope you like!

CHAPTER - 10

Bryan opened the door gently, holding a tray in one hand, and made his way towards the bed.

The sheets lay haphazardly all around the lithe still figure, the bluenette seemingly deep in sleep.

Bryan put the tray on the nightstand and sat down on the bed, removing the covers from the other's face.

A frown set on his face as he noticed the tears, the puffy red eyes. It seemed the other had been crying just a while ago.

Bryan brushed the silver hair away from the face, and gently shook him.

The bluenette, seemingly in a light doze, woke abruptly and pushed the intruding hand away, shifting as far away as he could from the other.

The crimson eyes slowly overcame the shock, taking in who really was there.

"W-what were you doing?" He asked, his eyes flickering between the Falcon and the door.

Bryan picked up the tray and held it towards him.

"I brought you breakfast," he replied softly, setting it down on the bed.

Kai stared at it for a second before turning to him.

"I don't want it, leave me alone."

Bryan frowned, "Kai, your body needs this."

Kai shook his head, his face twisting into a fearful expression.

"Please, leave me alone."

Bryan noticed that, and immediately stood up.

"I'll go, Kai, but know that you needn't be afraid of me, or any of the others," with that, he went out.

Kai kept staring at the closed door for a second before his rigid and tense body finally feel limp, a guilty feeling coming over him.

He knew it, knew who they were, knew who he was to them, and what they were to him, knew that even if life depended on it, they would never hurt him.

But.

After everything he didn't know what he was supposed to do. He didn't know who to trust anymore.

Even if his mind knew that they'd never hurt him, somehow, his body didn't believe it. As if subconsciously, it would tense whenever sensing another person near it. As if it knew that person's intentions.

He had been trying, but he couldn't put control over the immediate reaction his body gave whenever someone was near him.

He didn't know how to stop it. Even the slightest movements scared him. He had become so paranoid that it made him almost mad.

He couldn't control the shivers that would set through his body, couldn't control the way it would shy away and close up, as if on impulse.

Neither could he control the frantic heart bearing, that would seem to make his heart jump out of his throat.

He took a breathe in order to calm himself and put the tray back on the nightstand.

Now that he was awake, he felt restless, he didn't want to remember, but there was no escaping. Sleep seemed the only way out, if only it wasn't filled with horrific nightmares.

He laid down back again and put the covers over himself, body curling into itself as he hugged his knees, dull eyes staring at the nothingness that now surrounded him.

"He didn't eat anything."

Bryan, Spencer and Ian looked up at Tala who was standing beside them with the tray of food untouched in his hand.

The redhead stared at Bryan, the other sighing and looking down at his lap.

"Did you even tell him to eat?"

"Of course, I did, Tala," Bryan let out, "But he told me to leave him alone."

"And you did so?"

Bryan's face twisted into an angry expression, " And what else should I have done? Fucking force it down his throat and make him I'm a monster?!"

"No, I didn't say that! I'm just worried. He is starving himself. What if he needs to be sent to the hospital again?"

Bryan let out a loud curse at the words and kicked the coffee table, before running up the stairs to Kai's room.

The room was completely dark despite the fact that it was almost noon. The thick dark curtains were drawn in, and outside a storm was brewing.

He quietly went over to the bed and turned the night lamp on, making the warm light illuminate the bluenette's pale face. He noticed that he was clutching the sheets tightly, and his breathing was tagged, his whole body shivering.

"Kai!"

He sat down and pulled the trembling brunette into himself, rubbing his back in a soothing manner.

The action woke Kai up and he lifted his head, staring up at Bryan with scared teary eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asked softly.

Ki shook his head frantically, before burying his face into Bryan's neck, body shaking with soft sobs.

"Bryan, you shou- oh," Tala entered the room, falling silent at the scene.

Bryan turned to face him and put a finger on his lips, to which the redhead nodded.

"Kai?" He whispered, sitting down slowly next to the Falcon and putting his hand on the bluenette's.

Kai flinched and retreated the hand back from Tala's grasp, giving him a – what Tala described later as – a 'foreign' look.

Tala stared dejectedly at Kai and bit his lip, stopping himself from saying anything.

Bryan nudged him, "Leave Tala."

Tala turned his saddened eyes to him, and then to Kai again, "but-"

"Just go, Tala, for his sake."

Tala reluctantly nodded and stood up, giving Kai another dismal glance and walking towards the door.

Hearing the door click, Bryan turned back to the bluenette, pulling him against himself once again. The sniffing started again, and he kept rubbing his back and stroking his hair in calm motions, though each small sob and hiccup stirred something unpleasant in his mind.

He realized that he absolutely loathed this sound, of the other crying, and more so, the cause behind it all.

His eyes hardened in hate, his hands itching to hit someone, kill someone, hear someone else's cries of pain, such that would calm his murderous rage.

He looked down when he felt the other calming down a little, most likely too tired to cry anymore. The bluenette didn't move away from him though, resting limply against his torso, reddened eyes staring into space with a wreckful indifference.

"Why didn't you eat anything?"

He winced, cursing himself in his head, as the exhausted crimson eyes filled with tears once again.

"W-why do I need to, anyways?"

He sighed, thinking up an answer that wouldn't further upset him, "You're going to starve yourself to death, Kai" or maybe not. That wasn't a very nice way to say it.

"Do I fucking look like I want to live?" He yelled at him weekly, the tears falling down his cheeks.

"Why would you say that, Kai? Everything's fine now. No one can hurt you ever again," he replied, watching the bluenette's face attentively.

Kai tensed up and moved himself away from him, giving him a tearful glare.

"What would you know?" He cried out at him, lips wobbling against the words, "What would you know…"

He buried his face between his knees, wrapping his arms around himself in a pity attempt to shade himself, the sobs now loud and more miserable than they had been before.

The door opened slightly, and the others peeked in, watching him cry silently with concerned eyes.

Bryan shifted forward and put a hand on his knee, getting a tired shove on his chest.

"Pl-please, le-eave"

Bryan shook his head and reached his hand towards him once again. Kai glared up at him, reaching for a book lying on the nightstand, and throwing it at him.

Bryan let it hit his chest, not making any sign of obeying him. Getting frustrated, Kai threw the other few books at him, getting no response.

He then picked a small flower vase and pointed it at his own head, the tear soaked face almost complimenting the bitter look in his eyes.

Bryan's eyes widened. At the door, Tala made an attempt to go and stop him, being stopped by Spencer.

Kai whispered hatefully, "Either you go, or-"

"No-"

The pale hand brought the vase closer to his head.

"Fine, I'll leave!"

Hearing that, Kai lowered it down, though didn't drop the hateful look in his eyes.

Bryan snatched the vase from him and stood up, quickly making for the door.

Closing it softly behind him, he found the others staring worriedly at him.

"He…," Tala started, pointing to the door, a miserable expression on his face.

"It's no use," Bryan said, shaking his head, sliding down the door and letting out a huff.

Tala kneeled down next to him, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"It's no fucking use," he repeated, throwing the vase against the floor, breaking it into countless pieces.
