Hey everyone! I'm back and with another SR/KO chapter! First off, I want to say thank you all for the great reviews! I'm so glad you all liked the last chapter and I hope you will like this one as well. P.S. Sorry for any grammatical errors.

Transformers Prime: The Medic's Assistant

Chapter 55: Movie Night 2

Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers Prime

(Autobot Base)

The time was drawing nearer as Stormracer kept glancing at the clock. Her plan was to head straight for the drive-in once she was done cleaning, provided nothing else popped up. Soon as she finished, she tossed her rag into the waste basket and made her way over to the groundbridge controls. She was too focused on what she was doing that she failed to hear footsteps approaching her from behind.

"Whatcha doing?"

Stormracer jumped in surprise before turning around to see Smokescreen standing there. She let out a vent of relief before chuckling. "You scared me!"

"Sorry," he apologized, "where you going?"

Her smile disappeared as she nervously glanced away. "Oh, uh, just going for a drive," she fibbed, "figure some fresh air will do me some good."

"Can I come?"

"No!" she blurted out by accident, making him give her a surprised look. "I mean uh... sorry, not tonight, Smoke. I just... need some alone time right now."

Smokescreen's door wings sadly drooped down. "Aw, come on! I'm bored! Can't I tag along? I promise you won't even know I'm there."

Stormracer chuckled at him. "Sorry, Smoke. Not this time. Maybe tomorrow."

The elite guard groaned. "Yeah, if I don't die from boredom before then."

Needing to get to the drive-in, Stormracer glanced over at Jack and Sierra who were watching a movie. "Why don't you join the kids?" she asked Smokescreen, "They can show you some of Earth's entertainment."

Smokescreen looked at the two teens. He would rather go out instead of being cooped up in the base, but Optimus would want him to learn more about humans.

He looked back at the femme and smiled. "Alright. But don't have too much fun without me."

Stormracer smiled back and gave him a thumbs up. "I'll be back later."

Soon as the elite guard left to join the humans, Stormracer let out a vent of relief.

Dodged a bullet there, she thought as she set in the coordinates. Soon as the groundbridge opened, the femme transformed into her vehicle mode and rolled out.

Smokescreen watched as Stormracer disappeared through the groundbridge. He couldn't help but notice she seemed off. The only times he ever saw her like that was when she was trying to hide something. But what could she be hiding?

(Time skip)

(Drive-in)

Stormracer and Knock Out weren't even paying attention to the movie as the doctor showed Stormracer how to twirl his energon staff. She found it difficult even as she slowly did the motion with her servos.

"You make this look so easy," she told Knock Out.

He chuckled. "It's not that hard. You just need a little practice."

The femme fumbled and ended up losing her grip on one servo. "Dang it!"

Knock Out laughed at her attempt. "Here, let me help." He got behind her and brought his servos to hers.

Stormracer blushed at this while he positioned her servos on the staff.

"Keep one servo on top, the other on the bottom," he said as he showed her. "And when you spin it, catch it on the second spin like this."

Stormracer watched as he demonstrated. Once he removed his servos, she copied what he did. She struggled for the first little bit but soon got the hang of it as she did a slow front spin.

"There you go!" Knock Out congratulated her, "you're a natural!"

Stormracer happily chuckled. "Now I'll be ready for any slow-moving attackers."

Knock Out laughed as she handed his staff back to him. "You'll be able to pick up speed the more you practice. Once you get the hang of that, then you can do spins like this." Stepping away from the femme, he activated his weapon.

Stormracer watched as the energon staff lit up with electricity before Knock Out rapidly spun it around with no problem. Front spin, side spin with one servo, around spin, etc. It was like watching a show as the electricity swiftly danced around him. He ended it with a stance as he held the staff firmly in front of him.

Stormracer's jaw dropped in amazement as she stared at the mech. She then smirked. "You did that to show off, didn't you?"

He grinned at her. "Maybe."

Stormracer chuckled. "Oh, what the heck," she said before applauding him. "Bravo!"

Knock Out gave her a bow. "Thank you, thank you! Please, hold the applause," he joked as he deactivated his weapon and put it away.

Stormracer and him laughed as he walked towards her. Her smile however slowly faded as she remembered what happened the previous night. She couldn't help but wonder why Knock Out wasn't upset like he was earlier.

Knock Out looked at her questionably. "Something wrong?"

She snapped out of her thoughts. "Sorry," she apologized, "it's just... you haven't said a single word about Cylas. I assumed you would still be upset about what happened."

He just shrugged. "Guess I got over it quickly. Besides, he's out of the picture now."

Stormracer raised her optical ridge at him. "What do you mean?"

Knock Out knew how she felt about torture and revenge. She wouldn't approve of what he was doing to the human. But what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her, right?

"Megatron had him terminated," he lied, "He won't be bothering anyone ever again."

Stormracer was silent for a moment as she processed what he said. Venting, she glanced away. "I still can't believe the things that he did," she said. She looked back at Knock Out. "I wonder what made him go down that path."

"Hm, don't care," the con said with a shrug. "At least he won't be causing trouble for us anymore." He smirked. "Plus, I like to think Breakdown got some justice out of it."

The femme wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or not. "You're sure you're alright?"

His smirk grew. "Aww, you care about me or something?" he teased.

She blushed as she glanced away again. "I mean, I would still be upset if... you know."

"Hey, don't worry. I've found a way to cope with it." He smiled at her. "But thanks for asking."

Stormracer looked at him and smiled softly. Both then walked over to the rock and sat down to watch the rest of the movie.

"So, I see Bulkhead is back in the field," the doctor said as he sat down beside Stormracer.

"Not quite," she said, "he's on light duty."

He raised his optical ridge at her. "You call hand to hand combat light duty?"

The Autobot laughed. "No. Bulkhead really wanted to help so Ratchet had him and I on curbside duty. Then Cylas appeared and the situation escalated."

"I see." Remembering the newcomer, he said, "I couldn't help but notice the new Autobot that arrived."

"Oh yeah, Smokescreen!" she said with a smile, "He arrived a few days ago. He's actually an old childhood friend of mine."

The Decepticon raised his optical ridge again. "Oh?"

"We hung out all the time when we were sparklings. I was the nerdy femme that always had a data pad in hand, and he was the athletic kid who always found ways to get himself into trouble. Out of all the kids, he was the most kind-hearted. I used to wear these big goggles every day because I thought they looked cool, only to be constantly teased by the other sparklings. One bully decided to rip them off my head and was about to stomp on them before Smokescreen intervened. It led to a fight of course, but thankfully he didn't get into too much trouble. Ever since then, we became best friends. He would always share his snacks with me at school, help me with my homemade science projects, protect me from bullies, and whenever I needed a shoulder to cry on, he was always there. Then I went off to the Science Academy and I lost touch with him. And now he's here on Earth! He hasn't changed one bit."

A frown formed on Knock Out's face. He was starting to suspect the friend may have had a crush on her. Perhaps he still did. Thinking that made the Decepticon's frown deepen as he looked away.

"Well, I'm glad you two are reunited after so long," he lied.

"Thanks," she said, oblivious to his expression.

Knock Out glanced at her. Well, at least she's clueless about her friend's infatuation with her, he thought. Still, he couldn't help but feel jealous towards the new Autobot.

Trying to shake it out of his mind, he got rid of his frown and let out a quiet vent.

The two Cybertronians brought their attention back to the movie as it played a more serious scene. In it, a woman was flirting with another man in front of her boyfriend. When the boyfriend tried to confront her, she shoved him aside and left with the other man.

This triggered a memory in Knock Out's head, making him frown at the screen. "Hmph!"

Stormracer couldn't help but notice as she glanced at him. "You okay?"

Snapping out of it, Knock Out looked at her. "Yeah," he said, "it's just... that she-human reminds me a lot of my ex."

"Oh?" Stormracer curiously asked, "What do you mean?"

He let out a vent. "Her name was Starflare. She was... a handful. Granted, she was very attractive. Trouble was she knew it. But I found myself spending a great amount of time with her. I actually thought perhaps I had found a suitable partner. Then along came another mech and I was tossed aside like an energon goody wrapper." he said the last part with a frown.

Stormracer sympathetically looked at him. Giving the doctor a small smile, she gave his arm a nudge. "Hey, her loss. It wasn't meant to be. She didn't deserve you."

Knock Out smirked at her. "Oh? And who do you think deserves me?" he asked teasingly.

Stormracer blushed as she looked away to hide her face. "I uh, I mean, whoever, I guess. You know, someone who treats you better than she did. That you like of course! Like uh... uh... someone who I can't think of at the moment."

Knock Out laughed out loud at her response, making her blush even harder.

"It's a good thing you're cute," he chuckled.

Stormracer could feel steam escaping from her audio receptors as her face heated up. "I'm not cute!" she giggled.

"You do know the more you deny it, the cuter you become, right?" he teased.

"Cut it out!" she laughed.

"Never."

Lowering her servo, Stormracer laughed as her face returned to its normal light silver color.

Knock Out chuckled at her. "What about you?" he asked, "did you have a special someone?"

Stormracer's smile disappeared. She went quiet for a moment as she glanced away. "Uuum... well... I was in a relationship with one mech which... didn't end so well."

Knock Out saw he was putting her in an uncomfortable position. "You don't have to share it if you don't want to. I was only curious."

"I-It's fine," Stormracer said as she looked back at him, "it's just..." She let out a vent before continuing, "It was a serious relationship. We both met at the science academy; him being a couple grades ahead of me. I was drawn to his mind and charisma. He had all these big ideas and would find ways to turn them into reality. When he graduated, he was accepted into the science division in Iacon. He was so ecstatic when he got the news. Even I was happy for him. But months after he started... he became very isolated. I rarely saw him. And when I did, it was like talking to a complete stranger. He became so obsessed with his work it was starting to mess with him. I was so worried about his mental state that I tried to help him, but he would lash out at me whenever I tried to confront him. I think the nail in the coffin was when he grabbed my arm. The look he had on his face scared me. It was like he became some kind of lunatic."

Knock Out frowned at the last part but continued listening.

"So, I broke up with him. I thought it was best for both of us. Weeks later, I learned he was removed from the science division for illegal experimentations. He was sent away and I... I've thought of visiting him to ask why, but... I was afraid. I didn't want to believe that he... I have no idea what even happened to him."

"Yikes," Knock Out said once she finished, "I'm sorry you went through all of that. What was his name?"

"Mesothulas. I called him Messy for short." She chuckled. "Which kind of worked since his workspace was always cluttered."

Knock Out laughed. "Starflare was the same way. The number of times she'd enter my medbay, she would just litter all over the place. Ugh! I had to follow her around with a waste basket."

Stormracer chuckled along with him. "I can definitely see that being annoying."

Knock Out looked at her sympathetically. "Well, I say Messy's loss. He didn't deserve you."

It was Stormracer's turn to smirk. "Oh? And who do you think deserves me?"

He just glanced away and teasingly mocked her. "Oh, you know, whoever I suppose that you like of course. Can't think of anyone off the top of my head though."

Stormracer couldn't help but laugh. "Very funny. It's a good thing you're good looking." Her face immediately blushed as her smile turned to a look of embarrassment. "I said that out loud, didn't I?"

Knock Out smugly grinned. "Yes, and now you'll never hear the end of it."

"Ugh, what have I done?!" she snickered as she covered her face with her servos.

The two of them just laughed as they looked at one another. There was a moment of silence between the two as they shyly looked at the movie screen. Knock Out glanced at the Autobot as she watched the movie. She then glanced at him, making the Con turn his gaze away.

Stormracer wanted to say it. She wanted to confess her feelings to him. But would he laugh at her? Would he think she was being silly?

Knock Out glanced at the femme again. Wanting to break the silence, he cleared his voice box. "I uh... I'm glad you offered to meet here. It's... really nice to have someone to talk to again."

Stormracer smiled at him. "Of course! I'm always happy to listen."

He smiled back before venting. "You do know why I always say we shouldn't keep meeting, right? If Megatron finds out, he won't just terminate me. He'll go after you as well just to punish me even further."

Stormracer's smile disappeared. Thinking she knew where this was going, she sadly looked down. "I get it." she said, "Believe me, you getting in trouble with Megatron is the last thing I want for you. And if you don't want us to keep secretly meeting... I understand."

Knock Out looked at her as she tried to hide her sad expression. She didn't hide it very well though. He could see it in her optics. Normally when he saw an Autobot that was sad, he would openly mock them. But not this time.

Knock Out scooted closer to her and smirked. "Who said I didn't want to?"

Stormracer's optics lit up as she looked back at him. She couldn't help but smile as he gave her his signature smirk. As if there was some sort of magnetic pull between them, the two slowly leaned towards each other as though they were about to kiss.

SNAP!

"AAH!"

THUD!

Both immediately pulled away and instantly got up once they heard the shriek. They turned around to see a figure picking himself back up from behind the bushes.

"Ow," the bot groaned as he held his head.

Stormracer's optics widened once she saw who it was. "Smokescreen?!"

Knock Out frowned once he saw it was indeed her friend. "Oh great," he grumbled.

The recruit looked up at Stormracer and gave her an 'innocent' smile and wave. "Heeey! Funny seeing you here! I was just... checking out Earth's wildlife." He held up a piece of a bush. "It's very... leafy."

Stormracer and Knock Out both gave him a look, not buying it one bit.

"What are you doing here?" Stormracer asked, "and how long were you spying on us?"

Smokescreen's smile disappeared as he dropped the branch and walked over to them. "Not long, I swear. I know you said you wanted to be alone, but you seemed kind of off when you left. I was worried." He then looked at Knock Out. "Though I see you're not alone."

Knock Out folded his arms. "How observant."

Smokescreen stared at Knock Out before looking back at Stormracer. "So... who's your friend?"

Knowing she was caught, Stormracer let out a vent before giving the introduction. "Smokescreen, this is Knock Out. Knock Out, this is Smokescreen."

The recruit looked Knock Out up and down. "Hey," he said.

Knock Out looked the Autobot up and down as well. His frown never left. "Hello," he said begrudgingly.

Smokescreen glanced at both Stormracer and Knock Out before bringing his focus on just the femme. "Can I speak with you for a second?" he asked as he pointed behind him.

Stormracer looked at Knock Out and gave him a sheepish smile. "Please excuse me for a moment."

"Don't mind me," he muttered as she walked away with Smokescreen.

Once they were out of Knock Out's hearing range, Smokescreen looked at his friend in shock. "Are you crazy?!" he exclaimed in a loud whisper. "That's a Decepticon!"

"I know," she said quietly.

The mech couldn't help but stare at her in disbelief. "Why are you hanging out with a Decepticon?!"

"He's not as bad as you think," she argued.

"He's a con! They're all bad! Wait, you're not sharing intel or anything with him, are you?"

"What?!" she exclaimed with a frown, "No! Of course not! I would never do that to the team!"

Smokescreen raised his servos up in front of him, "Okay, okay! Sorry I asked." He lowered them down as he looked at her questionably. "So... what exactly is going on between you two?"

Stormracer rubbed the back of her helm as she glanced away. "We've been talking and spending time together. I'm hoping to convince him to switch sides."

"Really?" he asked, "because it seems like you two are very close."

The femme immediately blushed at this. Soon as her cheeks returned to their normal color, she looked back at Smokescreen pleadingly. "Please don't tell the others. They'll not only hate me but will never let me see him again. Plus, if the Decepticons find out, they'll hurt Knock Out, or worse."

Smokescreen glanced over at Knock Out. The Decepticon was still standing there watching them talk as he smugly waved at the recruit. Smokescreen frowned at this before looking back at Stormracer.

"I don't trust him," he said.

"You don't even know him!" the femme argued.

"He's a con! What else is there to know?! What if he hurts you?"

"He's saved my life more than once," she said, "he won't hurt me."

"But-"

"Please, Smoke?" she said, "you trust me, right?"

"Of course I do! But-"

"Then please trust me when I say I know what I'm doing."

"But-

"Please?"

Smokescreen was quiet as she gave him her sad cyber puppy optics. He glanced over again at Knock Out. He had a bad feeling about him. And he could tell from the looks he was getting from Knock Out that the Decepticon wasn't fond of him either.

He looked back at Stormracer. If there was one thing about her that stood out the most, it was her finding the good in others. But a Decepticon?! He wanted to argue. He wanted to drag her out of there for her own safety. But he had a feeling she would never forgive him if he did.

Finally, he let out a vent. "Okay, I won't tell anyone. I promise."

Stormracer gratefully smiled as she hugged him. "Thanks, Smoke."

The mech let out another vent as he hugged her back. "And I thought I was the troublemaker."

Stormracer chuckled as she pulled away. "Don't worry. You still are."

"Oh thanks," he said before it dawned on him. "Hey!"

The two then walked back over to Knock Out.

"Smoke promises to keep our secret," Stormracer assured him with a smile.

Knock Out skeptically looked at Smokescreen. "You sure he won't let it slip?"

The recruit frowned at him. "Hey, this isn't the first big secret I've kept."

Knock Out evilly smirked. "Personally, if I want someone to keep a secret, I simply remove their head."

"Knock out!" Stormracer said sternly.

The Decepticon chuckled as he raised his servos. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding." He then evilly grinned at Smokescreen. "Sort of."

Smokescreen's frown deepened as he approached the Con and jabbed his digit into his chest. "Let's get one thing straight, Con. If you hurt Storm in anyway shape or form, I will hunt you down and kick your skid plate from here to the moon. We clear?"

Knock Out frowned as he shoved Smokescreen's servo away. "Crystal."

Both glared at each other before Stormracer got between them.

"Okay, break it up!" she told the two mechs. She looked at Knock Out. "We should probably head back. Maybe see you later?"

Knock Out smirked at her. "If you like, we can have that rematch this weekend." He then shot Smokescreen a look. "Just the two of us."

The recruit frowned at him.

"Sounds great!" Stormracer said with a smile, "Saturday night, same time?"

Knock Out nodded. "Should work for me."

"Cool." She gave him a small wave. "Take care, K.O."

"Later, Stormy," he said.

Stormracer turned around to leave before noticing Smokescreen still standing there glaring at Knock Out. "Smoke," she said, gaining his attention.

Smokescreen dropped the glare as he looked at her. "Coming." He glared again at Knock Out. Doing the 'I'm watching you,' gesture at the Con, he turned around and followed behind Stormracer.

Knock Out frowned as he watched the two Autobots leave. Smokescreen looked over his shoulder and frowned at him one last time before blocking the Con's view of Stormracer.

Knock Out huffed at this. This was only proving his suspicion on Smokescreen. And he grew even more jealous. Unlike Knock Out, Smokescreen had the opportunity to spend more time with Stormracer. Plus, he was an Autobot like she was. The more he thought about it, the more upset he was.

"I hate him," he growled.

"K.O. and Stormy?!" Smokescreen asked Stormracer incredulously once they were far away from Knock Out.

"Oh shush!" Stormracer said as they walked, "they're just nicknames we gave each other."

Smokescreen shook his head. "You always did have a thing for bad bots."

She blushed at that. "I do not!"

Her friend went quiet as he glanced away with an upset look on his face.

Seeing his expression, Stormracer vented. "I'm sorry I lied to you. But I have to keep this a secret. Not just for my sake, but for his."

"I get that," he said as he looked back at her, "but you're sure you can trust him?"

"He hasn't done anything to make me think otherwise," she said.

"How long exactly have you been seeing each other?"

Stormracer thought back as she did a quick count with her digits. "A few months at least. We've only met up about five or six times. Not counting the accidental times."

Smokescreen stared at her in disbelief. "Yikes! You know Optimus and the others are going to be mad when they find out, right? Especially Ratchet."

Stormracer nervously glanced down. "I know. I do plan on telling them eventually but... I just need more time. So far only you and Sierra know."

Smokescreen glanced at her with a look of concern on his face. "You may want to think about telling them soon before they find out about it themselves."

Stormracer kept her gaze on the ground. She knew he was right. She had to tell the others soon. She just wanted to find the right time to do so.

She looked back at him apologetically. "I'm sorry for having you keep this a secret."

"Hey, you know I'd do anything for you," he assured her. He then frowned. "But if he tries anything funny, I'll rush over and knock his head off myself."

Stormracer smirked as she gave him a friendly nudge. "Thanks, Smoke."

The recruit smiled as she walked in front of him. Though with the femme in front, she couldn't see the sad look appearing on Smokescreen's face as he followed behind her.

And that was chapter 55! Hope you all enjoyed it. As you can see, I finally revealed Stormracer's ex. Some of you probably know who he is from the comics, but others probably know him by a different name lol. Will we see him and possibly Starflare in the future? We'll have to wait and see.

I know I said the next chapter would be Legacy, but I'll probably add one more SR/KO chapter before that. I hope that's alright lol.

Thank you all for reading this story and I hope you have yourselves a great day! Until next time! God bless!
