Chapter 3: A shot in the Dark
One day Yor was alone at home, doing the laundry, taking Loid's suits to the dry cleaner and cleaning the house, obviously respecting his bedroom which was off limits for her or Anya. Hers was off limits for him and Anya as well.
They made this agreement in order to keep their secrets but the excuse was that, since they aren't a real married couple, they don't need to get into each other's businesses.
They were happy with it and they didn't ask questions about it.
That day she was remembering the day when she asked him to get married and the way he used a safety ring of a grenade to finish their agreement.
She was surprised by her own resolution to make that sudden proposal and even more surprised when he actually accepted and did a kind of marriage ceremony. In the end she was happy and satisfied by how things were going after that.
He was so kind to her and a perfect gentleman. She even had been improving in her role, but the fact that he gave her a shot meant a lot for her so now she would never want to disappoint him or Anya.
And those were her thoughts when she was on the cruise, fighting for her life and to protect those who were under her protection, and they were the reason her legs were heavier than usual. She wanted to make sure she would return to them.
OOooOOooOO
For Twilight was the same thing. He was normally a very cold man, he learned the hard way how to never have second thoughts when an enemy was under his control and ready to be eliminated.
But... Why didn't he do it? He told Sylvia and Nightfall he didn't do it because it would affect Operation Strix but, was it the only reason? Or was he worried about hurting Yor's feelings? What if she ever discovered he was actually a spy and the one who killed her brother?
Just that thought made him sad, but why? Was he developing feelings for them? For Yor and Anya?
He gave them a shot, to become part of the mission but never thought they would become so important to make him feel angry just thinking about how he might end up hurting them.
He had been noticing how he cared about them in a short period of time.
He got angry when that man attacked Anya's emotions or when those men from the Red Circus kidnapped her bus.
He let down his defense when Yor is in the room or she offered him a warm smile, she suddenly became his safe place as well as Anya, he trust them enough to fall asleep on a couch.
The line between Agent Twilight and Loid Forger was getting blurred when he was at home and now Nightfall and Sylvia are noticing it.
OOooOOooOO
Lastly Anya was the real builder of the Forger, she manipulated Loid to adopt her, she manipulated Yor so she knew her father was single and ready to have a new relationship, and lastly she manipulated WISE to have her dog.
But no one was aware of that because she had been careful to not let them notice she can read minds.
Would it be bad if mommy and daddy find out about her powers? She imagined scenarios where she told them but neither of them looked nice to her.
Maybe if they find out they will end up the Forger and send her back to that orphanage which for her would be the worst case.
Another option is that her parents find out their secret identities so she could confess to them and let them know about Bond. But what if mommy ended up killing daddy? Or the other way around? No that can't happen.
She can't lose her family, she loves them so much.
OOooOOooOO
This is the end of the chapter. I hope you liked it. This one was more an introspection about giving the chance to be part of the family.
If you have a prompt you want to see her, let me know and I will do it.
