When I finally get to your house, you're already back from your movie date with the kids. There's also a familiar car parked behind your Bug.
I've met your friend Leah and her husband Sam before. We've gone on a few double dates with them, and they're good people.
It's been a while since we've seen them because Leah's father suffered a heart attack, and they've been out of town to be there for her mom and younger brother.
I'm gathering the supplies I picked up earlier when Sam joins me.
"You look like you could use some help," he says, greeting me with a handshake. "How the hell are you, Edward?"
"Good. I'll be even better when this is all over and Bella's home."
Sam chuckles. "I feel you, man."
I ask him how Leah's dad is doing, and Sam explains that Harry didn't survive his second heart surgery. They've been away for so long because of the funeral and making sure Sue and Seth are settled in their new normal.
We find you and Leah in your bedroom, packing your extensive collection of shoes.
"Hi, babe."
"Hey, I grabbed some more boxes and bubble wrap." I lean down and kiss you hello before turning to Leah. "I'm sorry about your father. You have my condolences."
"Thanks, Edward."
Seeing as your lease isn't up for another eleven months, you're transferring it over to the Uley's. They've been living in an apartment and are wanting to try for a baby, so they could use the extra room.
Seeing as my house is fully furnished, you're leaving a lot of the big stuff behind. What Leah and Sam don't want will be donated.
You haven't marked the things you're bringing yet, so Sam and I work together packing boxes upon boxes of books that take up the entire wall of your living room. They'll fit perfectly in the library.
When my car is loaded, you decide to call it a night, and I follow you home.
You breeze through security at the gate, and I'm glad I got you a pass ages ago when you started driving your car.
I can't wait to change it from a visitor's pass to a residential one.
We decide to leave the boxes for tomorrow, and you steal a shirt from my side of the dresser even though your clothes were the first thing you started bringing over.
