Chapter 3: Enter Gunman! (In which Izuku gets his power; We find out how Koichi knows Ruby Rose; and the Entrance Exam.. is about to begin!) [Tartarus Prison, near Tokyo, Japan, February 3rd 2099- 8:00 AM] She could almost hear all her doubts in her ear; she felt her sins crawling down her back. But Tsutsumi Kaina could take it. Her mind went back to the moment after they'd found her, her gun barrel smoking, Shido dead on the floor. Currently, the then acting and now current president of the Hero Public Safety Commission, Samui Yukikaze, stood outside her cell, smiling benevolently. "We're gonna have to put you in prison," the President of the HPSC said. "It's gonna be hell. But you'll get out in a few years. In time for your son's second semester at UA, assuming it is UA." "Speaking of-" Kaina had spoken up. Then she covered her mouth. "I'm sorry, President. I spoke out of turn." But President Samui had just smiled. "No, it's fine. Go on, Kaina." Kaina took a deep breath. "My son means the world to me. As does his father." The President's smile widened a tiny bit. "Please excuse my.. Ahem, poor memory, but.. Which hero was he? Gunhead?" Kaina nodded, and the President's smile widened just that bit more. "Don't worry. That'll be taken care of." Kaina sighed in relief, and the President continued. "Now to address the elephant in the room. At this time, you, I, and most of the HPSC are the only ones who know of this corruption. However, if we aired the dirty laundry now.."
"It would seem like a cover-up took place," Kaina continued. "But if you were to only find out later, say a few months, it wouldn't be as bad.." "Exactly," the president nodded. "Listen, I know it'll be hell in here. You'll probably suffer. But when you get out, it'll be a better world than you left it- that's my promise to you." Kaina grinned. "I'll hold you to that, President Samui." As the president left, her mind wandered. Besides, she thought, plenty of time to reflect here. I wonder if Taiyang is doing alright.. And Summer too..
[Somewhere on Long Island, New York, US, August 3rd, 2091- 12:00 PM] "G-godmother?" Kaina stuttered. Summer simply nodded, while Qrow stood there with a slight smirk. "Yeah, you'd make an excellent godmother for Ruby," Summer replied. "But I'm not your sister-in-law anymore," Kaina protested. "And besides, I already have a son-" "So? You're still our friend, Kaina," Summer chuckled. "Besides, it can't really hurt.." "No, I guess not," Kaina muttered, glancing over to the driveway. Kaito still hadn't arrived yet. "But still… Why me? Why not Qrow or- or someone else?" "I'm the uncle, remember?" Qrow replied sardonically. "All this is sounding to me like you're scared, Kaina.." "I'm not scared, Qrow Branwen," Kaina replied. "Just you wait, I'll be the best godmother you ever saw." A red Ford pulled into the driveway. Three familiar faces stepped out- Taiyang, Kaito, and Koichi. Immediately, a red blur shot out of the front door and toward Taiyang, turning into a young girl that clung to his leg. "Oh. Hey, Ruby," Taiyang smiled. "Dad, who's he..?" Ruby asked, gesturing to Koichi.
"That, Ruby Rose," Kaina told her, "Is my son, and your new best friend, Koichi." "My new best friend..?" Ruby repeated with awe. Then, before Kaina could elaborate, she rapidly hugged Koichi with the strength of a python. "We're gonna be best best friends!" "Sure," Koichi muttered. And from that day on, Koichi Tsutsumi always looked out for Ruby Rose.
[Takoba Municipal Beach, Musutafu City, Japan, August 3rd, 2101- 8:00 AM, 5:00 AM in Oregon] "You're either lying or you're stupid, Ruby!" Koichi fumed. From the phone, Ruby replied, "I'm stupid, I'm stupid!" "Damn right!" Koichi fumed, calming down. "You're alright, though, right?" "Yeah. In fact, I got to talk to Headmaster Ozpin of Beacon Academy, he let me join two years early because of my skill!" "Damn," Koichi whistled. "I know!" replied Ruby. "I gotta go now, talk to you later, okay?" "Later," Koichi replied, turning back to Izuku. Their training continued for the rest of the school year, and by March, the boys had the physique of Greek gods. Kaori didn't stop annoying them either, but she was a welcome distraction. And by the 26th…
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Izuku stood on a pile of garbage, screaming his lungs out like he was about to go Super Saiyan. He wore no shirt, and in front of him, the coastline was visible. All Might and Koichi were stunned for just a second, but they quickly got over it.
"Holy.. SUPER CRAP!" All Might laughed. "My boy, you've done it! Now you're ready to inherit my power!" Izuku clambered down, breathing heavily. All Might met him on the sand. "No hard work is without reward! Now come, Izuku Midoriya, and grab hold of your destiny!" Izuku reached out his hand, while Koichi watched in anticipation. All Might pulled out a lock of hair, and offered it to Izuku. "Eat this!"
"Huh?" At the same time, Koichi spluttered, "What the hell you say?!" All Might merely chuckled. "To inherit my power you need a piece of my DNA. This was the least gross option-" "I'm sorry, All Might, but.. I don't think I can do it." Koichi grinned. "Well, you could try the blood thing they did in ancient times." Izuku nodded. "That might actually be less gross.." "Very well," All Might sighed. "Good, now hold still so I don't hit an artery or something," Koichi told them. His arm transformed, and with a click, was loaded. "I'll do my best to just barely graze you, but it'll still hurt." Both nodded, and with two shots- Pow! Pow!- both All Might's and Izuku's palms bled. The pair clasped hands, and a bright light spread from it. When it faded, Izuku grinned. "Alright.. So how does this work..?" he muttered. Koichi grinned, transforming his arm back to normal and gesturing to a nearby fridge. "Hit it with everything you got." Izuku clenched his fists, but only ended up bruising his fist. "Damn.. how do I summon it?"
Koichi sighed. "You need to give it a good analogy and roll with it- for me, I treat my gun modes like a different combat stance. Stay in that stance for one style, switch for others." "What about an egg in a microwave?" Izuku asked. "... go on.." Koichi replied. "If my power is like an egg in a microwave, I just need to imagine the egg not exploding!" "That's stupid, but try it," Koichi sighed. "Okay..?" So Izuku tried. But while he did hit the fridge and obliterate it, it broke his arm. While Izuku writhed in pain, Koichi sighed. "Told you. Do you need an explanation why that sucks?" "Explain away," Izuku sighed. "So," Koichi began, "The reason that metaphor is stupid is because if you want to cook an egg, you don't microwave it, because it'll explode. Think of it like a taiyaki instead." "I don't follow," Izuku grunted. "A taiyaki in a rotating plate microwave, then. You want to make sure the taiyaki is evenly cooked. In other words, spread the power evenly." Just then, a green Honda Fit pulled up and an elderly lady exited it. She looked around, then hobbled down and kissed Izuku's arm. The arm healed. "You're.." "Yes, I'm Recovery Girl, no I don't do autographs, now have some candy." She handed Izuku the candy, and he swallowed it. Once his energy returned, he tried again. "Okay… spread the power evenly.." Suddenly, Izuku glowed a bit and green lightning danced around his body. Then, he punched a nearby fridge, and deactivated the power. "Woah, I'm not even hurt!"
"Told ya," Koichi replied smugly. "Good work, Izuku. The entrance exam is in a week or so, so we need to go and study." "Right!" Izuku replied. "Bye, Yagi-sensei!" "Later, kids!" Yagi replied as they left. Training continued for the next week. The day before the exam, Koichi realized he hadn't prepared for the practical at all. But Izuku was no help, so he hopped on his Discord server in hopes of finding someone who could help. —--

SmoothV was a relatively new member of the Discord server but she seemed alright. Ruby, though, was incorrigible. He didn't talk during dinner, and when he went to his room, he reviewed his plan for tomorrow. Then, he experimentally cycled through each of his arm's modes- shotgun to assault rifle to sniper to arm. Yep, he thought. No stopping me tomorrow.
And that's chapter 3. A shorter one, yeah, but that's what you get when you have writer's block. Sorry. I promise I'll do better for the entrance exam! I'll also start making art for this. I'll add it to a google slide as it comes. So with that said, let's go over our main cast, and their quirks.
Izuku Midoriya- Quirk: None! I see where the name Deku comes from… He's still really useful though!
Kaina Tsutsumi/Lady Nagant- Quirk: Rifle! Her right arm transforms into a sniper rifle! Her bullets are made by twisting two strands of hair together.
Ruby Rose- Quirk: Petal Burst! Yeaaah, this Ruby won't have silver eye abilities. It's too much of a pain to explain away. So she just has Petal Burst- she can move at high speed, leaving a trail of rose petals in her wake. Current limits are unknown.
And finally, our star! Koichi Tsutsumi! Quirk: Loadout! His right arm can become any gun! And I mean any gun! As long as the barrel is 12 inches or more, and it's illegal to own in the UK. Lots of ways I can work with this! His bullets are made either the same way as Lady Nagant, or they're hardened keratin masses like his dad.
Nicknames: For Koichi: Koicchan (Izuku) , Koichi-kun (Kaori, Kyoka), Quiet Kid (Bakugo) From Koichi: B*tch Boy Bakugo, Tsar Bomba, Blasty Mcsplode, Ground Zero (Bakugo); Kaorin (Kaori; it's an abbreviation of Kaori-chan, like Minorin is for Minori-chan), Rubes (Yeah it's for Ruby)

Then, as he aimed, he couldn't help but utter one word. "Begone." [Somewhere on Long Island, August 3rd, 2098- 12:00 PM] "It's like clenching your fist," Kaina explained. "Try to imagine it like opening said fist.. Like so." Smoother than butter, her arm transformed and a smoking hole appeared in the tree her arm pointed at. Beside her, Koichi stood amazed. "Now you try," she told him. Koichi's arm transformed and he aimed right above the hole Kaina had made. Then, he imagined a fist… pressure building inside his arm… and suddenly, he released it. [Present Day] Koichi tensed, and then let go of his tension. The bullet flew straight through the bot's head, leaving a small hole in the middle. The bot jerked
forward, then went completely limp. Tsutsumi Koichi, son of Tsutsumi Kaina, had taken out a Zero-Pointer with ease. Around him, others stared. Others who had been running, some who'd tried to take on the bot. Some glared at him- namely Katsuki who he saw in the corner of his eye. But that didn't matter to Koichi. He transformed his arm to normal and looked around. "TIME'S UP!" Mic shouted. Koichi sighed.
