Chapter 8: Home is a warm Faith filled pillow.
Buffy had arrived home a little after 7.30 after saying her goodbyes to Rhino at the train station and being side tracked by a town gaurdmen who had asked for her and Faith if they were on duty anytime soon as he wanted to practice his sharp shooting skills like last time, especially as he had just purchased a gun that looked like an old browning but with a scope. He had shown her it also fired acid round which burst on impact which gave the young slayer some good ideas for demon slaying and bounty hunting which she shared with the young gaurdsman before she said her goodbyes to him as well and made her way home as she had already spent too much time away from Faith and it was begining to get on her nerves quite a bit.
When she opened the front door she had noticed all of Faiths equipmemt was hung up and she happily put her tools and outside clothing next to hers before putting her souvenirs on the table and unpacking them for Faith to see when she awoke. she knew she was asleep because the slayer connection they shared had began to grow stronger and it was a feeling she had begun to trust uniqely between them that seemed to grow stronger the deeper their emotional connections became.

"Don't you ever call yourself that again... i don't pity you Faith... you are the one person in this world who's my equal, slayer powers or not" Buffy took both of her hands in hers and stared deeply into her eyes.

"Do you think i'm here because i have no other choice, i could of left at anytime and i didn't, i made sure everyone here knows you are mine! they call me your wife Faith and funny thing is i have just stopped correcting them, i didn't even want to correct them, i was worried about what you would think". she placed her forhead against her lovers.
"If i ever get dragged back to Sunnydale, they will know and i don't give a fuck what they say, for all intent and purpose, we're married as far i'm concerned. i will make those rings, i'll enchant them and why would i do that? out of pity?" Buffy was obviously enraged by what Faith had said but she kept her tone as calm as she could for the moments her voice would allow her too.
"I... i just don't understand why... i'm worthless Buffy and you're... you" Faith tried to look away and Buffy wouldn't let her. "I love you Faith Lehane, don't you ever doubt it!" Buffy said she loved Faith out loud for the first time and it shocked the dark slayer to her core to actually hear what she had just said but the next thing shocked her beyond all compare.
"I've been thinking about this for a long time now and you were right, when you killed Angel... you saw that more 'statutory' aspects of that relationship" Buffy was now holding her lovers chin and staring deeply into her dark brown eyes.

"Thank you... for loving me". Faith was then directed by Buffy under the covers and asked to snuggle and take a nap before waking up properly and begining tneir day.
"Sleep and when we wake up i can treat you to your souvenirs and maybe we can go get lunch at the Saloon or something" Buffy took her place as the big spoon this time and happily fell asleep in Faiths crying arms. she also fell asleep soon after and had suprisingly pleasent dreams as the two slayers had finally reunited into each others dream filled embrace.

When both slayers had finally awoken it was mid day and Buffy had dressed up light as Faith also had and she decided it was time that her lover opened her carefully picked out souvenirs and tell her just how wonderful and perfect she was for being so thoughtful and such a great present giver. She was a little hyper after they had showered together and got dressed again, the vigorous sex had made them alot less than clean than before and now they were fancy fresh and willing to greet the day. "See, i brought you sketch books, watercolors and art supplies! i know you love drawing and well, i saw you were running low on everything so i just brought you everything plus a little extra" Buffy watched as Faiths face was covered in a small smile of appreciation as she took out every leather sketchbook and inspected the fine quality of the paper.
"Wow, you really now your stuff... i never knew you paid attention in my art classes, the kids were coming along alot quicker than you" Faith gave her a cheeky look as she inspected the the high quality watercolors that she couldn't wait to try out and the brushes looked like sable hair.
"You... really paid attention, what's in the other bags anyway" she asked as she took out the rest of her new high quality artistry equipment, lining it all up perfectly just the way she liked it.
"Well clothes... a few weapons and... the lingerie i brought you, and mine i purchased to wear for you" Buffy was blushing deeply as Faith opened the specific bag with the lingerie and was pleasently suprised to see Buffy was really damn good at spending money.
"Hmmm... well i know what we're doing tonight! you..." Faith laughed as she put the lingerie back down and looked over a myriad of clothes she had brought for her and then spied a blood red bodace covered in scales for protection and she gave Buffy a look.
"You really like dressing me in red huh? looks like i'll have to buy a deep shade of red lipstick for you if i wanna keep you interested in me" She took it out and tried it on, finding it to be more comfortable then her orange/brown colored one.
"Do you like it? the scale are made of a harder material and can withstand quite a beating, guy let me test one out so i brought myself an extra, we can get it enchanted like the others today or tommorow... whenever we have fime". Buffy was kicking her heel against the ground, she was obviously nervous even though Faith was really enjoying her presents.
"All these clothes, weapons, lingerie and art supplies, but all you had to do was come home and i would of been happy B" Faith walked over and kissed her in a chaste way before returning to her souvenirs and as she was lifting a new larger ax Buffy came up behind her and hugged her happily.
"See i knew you'd love em... you always make that face when you're happy" Buffy picked her up with her Slayer strength which is something she had noticed had increased quite a bit as of late but still nowhere near Faiths level of strength.
"Man... the adults and kids in class are gonna love my new art supplies, it's gonna make em jealous as fuck when they see what their teach can do with these" She was let go by Buffy but Faith grabbed her hand and pulled her towards herself and kiss the top of her head.
"Whatever would i do without you B?" Faifh rhetorically asked but Buffy answered anyway.
"Probably be depressed and Buffy'less, i'd be mopey and whiny and i'd miss you deeply and cry myself to sleep... like the first time i did when you switched sides and joined fhe mayor" Buffy told her without even thinking about what she was saying and covered her mouth quickly with shock in her eyes.
"You cried over me?..." Faith cocked her head and her hair fell to the side as she realised the gravity of what her girlfriend was saying. she really did have feelings for her this entire time, 'thank god for Buffys inability to shut up sometimes and say the things she wants to hear' was becoming Faiths personal mantra at this point.

"Hey B... lets go to Rubys and get these enchanted" Faith grabbed her new clothes and her money pouch and put them together on the table as she got ready to go outside, her new art equipment could wait until later as she had a small leather satchel that had more than enough room to house everything but all she needed was time.
"Then lunch maybe, we can try something different or maybe something you know is good and have been hiding from me so far" Buffy put the cup of water down on the side and went to grab her and Faiths boots and socks also, they always had to gear up outside since Buffy had a terrible habit of running into trouble in the safest places.
"Don't forget to wear your old bodace until we enchant the new one, we still have to wear it for enough hours in the day to get the permament effects dumbass" Faith called out to her as she was already half way into her gear and doing exactly as she was told for once.
"Yes mummy, anything you say" Buffy bent over and really put alot of emphasis into struggling to out on her boots, a little extra wiggle here and there was purposeful to entice her lover and it worked as Faith came up behind her and slapped her ass bdcause that was obviously what she had wanted. Buffy even stood up and even had a massive grin across her face as Faith dressed up to go outside with her. the last thing to go on the girls were their weapons, funny thing is that of late Buffy really enjoyed being a gunslinger, but Faith always made sure they practiced hand to hand so she wouldn't get rusty anytime soon.
Buffy had began to joke that she was the next giles but much nicer in the eyes, "ya know... if you did happen to get those rings made... i wouldn't say no..." Faith hinted as Buffys eyes lit up and she exited the house as quickly as she could before the fully armed blonde cutie pie who was in love with her crushed her rib cage with superpowered hugs.

The Saloon was quiet today as they sat down at a corner table and were enjoying a light lunch and Jean was for once nowhere to be seen, which was nice as Buffy had mentioned to him that a 'holiday' or a small 'break' might be in order so he can get some rest. the Madame of the establishment had came over quickly to tell them he was actually taking a small break and had left her in charge, she had her finest boy and girl running the bounty office as Jean apparently decided to get a tan at the beach for a few days.
"Hope he comes back wirh a tan, guys working non stop everyday... just hope he doesnt come back looking like bacon" Faith bit into her lunch as the Madame left and told the girls she hopes he comes back soon so she can get her workers back in bed.
Buffy just ignored her while she continued to enjoy her lunch with Faith but then asked Faith to hold out her hand as she pulled out a rolled up measuring tape and began to measure her ring finger to Faiths suprise.
The shock was clear across her face "So you're really gonna buy me a ring eh! i thought you'd actually listen and wait awhile..." Although she was secretly giddy at the prospect as she noticed Buffy write down her measurments and some other notes in her note pad.
"You said, you wouldn't say no... and i like it alot when you say yes to me so... prepare to say yes for me!" Buffy put the pad, small pencil and measuring tape away in her jacket pocket and pulled out her camera and scooted closer to Faith and took a picture of them both together. her arm was over Faiths as they both beamed with large, happy smiles and a soft demeanor that came across in the picture they were both now looking over.
"I love it when you smile for me, you're unbelievably gorgeous. if i wasn't also pretty, i'd be so damn jealous" Buffy cockily said after complimenting them both and placing a longingly passionate kiss on her lips.
"This one's going in my 'best of' photo album... although it's literally mainly you and me in our little bounty hunting adventures" she left the camera on the table with the picture as she went over to the barkeep to order another set of drinks for herself and her girlfriend. Faith actually decided to pic up and look at the polaroid picture as she continued eating and realised in the moment how happy and safe she looked within the confines of the pictures bounds.
'I look happy, feel it too... she's changing me and I like it... I like what she's making me become' Faith thought to herself quietly as she returned the picture to the table and Buffy came back with a skip in her step handing her lovers drink to her happily with a bashful grin blazenly drawn across her face.
"You've been here a little over half a year, B... ya look so much happier than back in sunny D" Faith took the drink and sipped it gingerly before placing it back down on the table and continued eating her lunch with glee.
"Well, i get to be myself, i have a strong and beautiful girlfriend who's obsessed with me... and honestly i just haven't missed not being a part of the whole slayer bullcrap. Being a superpowered bounty hunter is so much more fun" Buffy joked honestly and shrugged her shoulders in indifference.
"Ya enchanted clothes should of made you a bit stronger now, least they'll have a harder time cruciamentun'ing you again... if they did it with me i'd still be as strong as a Slayer or stronger so we're alot safer than before" Faith spoke as she finished her food and began drinking her beverage slowly as Buffy continued eating with a little bounce to her sit.
"If they ever do... take me back, i should probably tell you i had Ruby enchant our ribbons..." Buffy stopped buzzing happily and now had a serious demeanor which was very unlike Buffy as of late. Faith eyed her strangely with a mix of confusion and an obvious lack of understanding.
"What did you have enchanted? our ribbons, why?" she touched her ribbon and played with it between her fingers.
Buffy gave an awkward smile, "when we first went to ruby I panicked and didn't want to lose you ever again... so i made sure that we were connected and would always find eachother again, if we got seperated... i mean i should of told you and it was an 'in the moment' kind of thing but..." Buffy was now begining to rant at speed before Faith took her hand in hers and placed a finger upon her lips to silence her.
"I always knew you had a thing for me, not even here a day and you laid your claim and hedged ya bets, it's charming... makes me feel wanted" Faith gave her a loving and warm look as Buffy kissed the tip of Faiths finger in response as she managed to calm down rather hastily.
"I'm very possesive, but i'm cute too so ya know, kinda balances itself out a bit... maybe?" Buffy watched Faith take her hand back and she blushed deeply as she noticed Faith slowly go back to playing with her ribbon happily.
"Maybe i'd be less so if you weren't so cute yourself..." Buffy said in a charming tone with a come hither look that made it much harder for Faith to not show her shyer and more femimine side.
"B, stop... we're in public baby..." Faith looked away as she noticed some working boys and girls looking in her direction and she instantly went stoic and gave them a death stare which caused one to drop a break a bar glass which led to the Madame berating the poor thing rather meanly.
"Faith... you can't give them the death stare when ya got the big badass reputation, the madame might end up charging us for the broken glass" Buffy nervously grinned as she finished her food but Faith couldn't respond as Sina walked in and interrupted their private lunch. she came over dressed in all new gear and a big dopey grin across her face as she was now dressed in less barbarian gear and more cowboy like dark black leather.
"Hey guys! Buffy i owe ya one for the new gear... the black waist coat and pants... just had everything enchanted by Ruby. she charged me a bunch but those magical boosts are really something" Sina pulled up a seat and started showing off her new gun belt too.
"How'd you know i was saving up for new gear anyway, Rhino told me you got him new clothes and a rifle from Balamb'bin. must be cheap there?" Sina put her black high powered sniper rifle down on the table and Faith inspected it thoroughly.
"Yh, they were having a sale and i memorised your sizes and thought hell... you guys probably needed the armor... you both have thick skin but, last months bounty wasn't exactly a walk in the park for any of us. so much blood from that mosquito demon thing, who wants that on the skin" Buffy shuddered at the memory of how the demon exploded from a well placed shot from Faith and had drenched both Sina and Rhino in copious amounts of stolen demon blood.
"Yh we got lucky that lake was there... washed right off, can't wait to try out the upgrades on our next job". Sina took her black rifle back and sat it down next to herself carefully. "So is Rhino at Rubys right now? enchanting ain't cheap ya know, you're gonna have to pick up a lot of work to save up some cash" Faith asked Sina and she nodded then stood up and walked over towards Buffy.
"Honey... I'm gonna go check on Rhino and make sure Ruby ain't running his pockets dry, stay here with Sina. i'll be back soon, i promise" Faith leaned down to kiss her on the cheek but Buffy pulled her in abruptly for a deeper, more passionate kiss that would cause Sina to avert her gaze as Buffy really liked to hang there before breaking apart.
"Come back quick, I'll miss you if you don't" Buffy gave her a dark eyes, longing look and Faith gulped before leaving the saloon and leaving her there alone with the newly decked out Sina. "Man... i hate it when she goes but i love watching her leave" Buffy bit her lip as she watched Faith cross the street through the window as Sina scoffed with a stifled giggle escaping her lips.
"You and Faith have gotta calm down, i'm starting to feel jealous!" Sina slapped her playfully on the arm and started drinking Faiths unfinished drink and Buffy just let her do so and sighed while stretching for a moment to try and relax her muscles. she exspulsed the air in her lungs and was suprised as Sina handed her a couple of Bounty posters that she must of picked up earlier before they came for lunch. Buffy looked them over and spied some quite nasty characters with alot of bounties that were only wanted 'dead' and that was a bad sign for what was currently going on in this dimension.
"That's alot of only 'deads' wanted... alot more than usual, is this a gang or something?" Buffy asked Sina but she shook her head to say 'no' and they were all obviously seperate bounties.
"Been alot of crime sprees lately, bounty huntings getting popular again too... we ain't gonna be wrangling them all in ourselves. we might as well just go for the higher bounties and work down" Sina grabbed the posters from Buffy and sorted out what she thought would be the best by highest price and only one was a capture out of 7.
"These are the best catches, you and Faith can go over em ya'selves but if we split up it's gonna be dangerous" Sina pointed to the biggest bounty with a serious look in her eyes.
"This one has a gang of 40, his own kind too, all well trained. the others have smaller gangs but i reckon splittin up will get us killed quickly". Buffy gave a knowing look.
"You're right, a well structured and co-ordinated attack on each gang will get the job done quicker and cleaner, we should tell Faith about your plan. it's good" Buffy cleaned up the table and moved to take the plates back and hand them off to the robot barmen before coming back to the table with a serious look on her face.
"I reckon we start tommorow, its already a bit past mid day and there's no way anyone's catching his gang anytime soon, poster says he's a town over in the mining district" Buffy pulled out a map and a pencil and marked the areas down that she thought he might be hiding.
"Gang a 40... gotta be hiding out on the outskirts of town, easy access to food and beer, whores too. ah, i see you've marked down some closed off mine shafts on ya map, yeah i'd search there too after a thorough investigation in town" Sina herself pointed out one or two areas she would search as Faith and Rhino returned and sat down next to everyone with a hearty laugh.
"You'll never believe what Rhino enchanted his new clothes with! Rubys an ass sometimes" Faith tried to stifle a laugh but Failed as she looked over to the big green Rhino who was dressed as a lawman from the wild west, rather than a cowboy.
"Faith... i thought it was a good idea, a speed and strength increase for me would make our job alot easier and the defence increase would make me almost indestructable" Rhino gave the table a toothy grin as Faith shot him a look with made him put his head down.
"Tell em about the hat, the one you almost got enchanted to increase your 'charisma'. when are you gonna need to seduce a bounty Rhino? we've never done that or needed too" Faith shook her head as Sina laughed but Buffy was much more sympathetic.
"You say that now but who knows it could help, Rhino does do most the talking on hunts... although if the magics too strong poor guy might get jumped by every man and women he talks too" Buffy smiled as she showed Buffy the poster and map for their next job.
"Remember what happened to Xander when he got his 'charisma' boosted..." Faith gave Buffy a look and she remembered the whole school had become absoloutly obsessed with him... even she had without being able to even try and control herself.
"Yh... and we don't have a witch on call to stop him getting swarmed by every woman he comes across. that kinda magic always goes wrong somehow, Yh Faiths right, that's not a good idea big guy" Buffy frowned and tapped his hand and gave him an understanding look while he seemed a little put out by the idea himself.
Sina interjected with her own question, "what happened to this Xander? did he lose a limb, get murdered?" she asked with an inqusitive tone to her voice.
Faith gave Buffy a look which told her 'hey, he's your friend so it's yours story to tell lover girl', and she crossed her arms in her seat and gave Buffy a 'go on then' look and the blinde slayer decided to give her the abridged version.
"Witch made him irresistable and about 400 maybe 500 women swarmed him to try and... get better aquainted with him, some even had axes. it was rough but we fixed it before he lost any vital organs, thankfully...". Buffy took a sip of her drink and looked over to Rhino with an understanding look.
"Faith might of just saved your ass big man, we have no idea the problems a charisma enchantment may have caused in the long or short term" Faith quickly jnterrupted her.
"Ruby told him it was a bad idea too, she said charisma buffs always had a monkeys paw like effect to em... so yeah, i saved him before he got a sawn off to the face by someone jealous ex". Faith gave him a softer than usual look and he understood, he just didn't feel like he wanted to be around anyone right now.
Rhino stood up and bowed his head, "You guys should plan the next bounty, i gotta get the rest of my gear sorted before the next caper". Rhino began to walk away but turned around and thanked Faith before leaving with a smile on his face and he went his merry way in the direction of the outfittery to continue his busy day. the Saloon was still relatively quiet but the girls decided to carry on and plan the next job before tommorow as they drew up a plan on how to find him and lure his entire gang out for slaughter.
"We only have to go for the kill, i reckon we have Buffy in the wings sniping with her high powered rifle whilst Sina and I get into the thick of if, my rifle is more like a long ranged explosive shotgun anyway. and Sina's been itching for a fight" Faith received a nod and grin from Sina revealing her words were spot on.
"Plus these new dead only bounties are gonna make us unbearably rich! we won't need to work for years if we bag all of these... i mean we're not gonna stop but, holidays are pretty fun every now and then" Sina winked and Faith actually liked the sound of what she was insinuating. "
Are yiu trying to tell us ya wanna go on holiday with us Sina... cause i'm not hatimg the idea... Buffy can get so expensive sometimes" Faith gave a faux look of annoyance that caused Buffy to slap her on the shoulder and lean into her all lovingly and glued to her arm.
"But you like spending money on me... i'm all cute and peppy, you have no idea how lucky you are to enjoy such an expensive girlfriend like me" Buffy playfully moaned as she looked up at her and pouted with her perfectly pink lips and glowing puppy dog eyes.
Faith turned to Sina and gave her an annoyed look, "See what you did now Sina, expensive Buffy has made an appearence... all our Rupee purses are gonna be empty before you can even plan the holiday. and B c'mon, i got an image to uphold... gotta look scary for the people ya know, put the fear of Faith into em" Faith gave her a cocky grin that was instantly wiped clean as Buffy kissed her deeply.
"Everyone knows how scary you are... they must think i'm even scarier..." Buffy smiled as Faith gave her a bemused look.
Sina seemed to have a lightbulb moment go off in her head as she blurted out "Oh, oh... cause you got her whipped! makes you even scarier..." Faith would of got mad if Buffy hadn't turned her cheek back to her deep green eyes and kissed her again and whispered into her lips.
"They better be scared... you're mine" Buffy bit her lip and lightly moaned which caused Sina to look away wifh a blush in her face which Faith now shared with her bounty hunting friend.
Buffy just hapoily leaned agajnst her for a while as she stared lightly at the table with the bounties on them. "We gotta work hard though, maybe Sina can plan the holiday as i have no idea where anyone woukd wanna spend a couple of weeks in this dimension" Buffy sat up straight and went to order drinks and left Sina alone with Faith who quickky whispered to her vastly stronger buisness partner.
"I have never seen you this happy, it looks good on you boss. she really brings out the best in others eh! even Rhino is wearing new gear and you know how stingy he is" Sina punched her with a bit of force on the arm but Faifh didn't even budge, she was like a statue deep in thought.
"Yh, he normally waits unil the gears broken before he even considers untightening the purse strings, she's something else that's for sure" Faith looked over to Buffy and took her im for a few moments before facing back towards Sina with a slight glint of happiness appearing in her eyes that didn't go unnoticed by the 7ft barbarian.
"You better plan a good holiday my friend cause after all these 'wanted dead' bounties we're gonna need atleast a month off and to be honest with ya... i kinda wanna explore as a tourist for once ya know" Faith chuckled quietly at the idea but Sina seemed to be really into it.
"Hell... we all own our own houses... all the cash can go towards saving and adventures, if we kill all these bounties we will each be richer than Jean for atleast a few months! just gotta make sure we live long enough to spend the cash" Buffy returned as Sina was pointing towards the Bounty posters and handed them each a drink before sitting down and enjoying her own.
"Ya hear that baby, we make enough cash and Sina is taking us on an adventure!" Faith sipped her drink as she leaned back, relaxed in her seat.
Buffy liked the idea and yet she knew this next month or two would be very hard work and she was up for it as she knew every day she was growing unnaturally stronger thanks to her and Faiths enhancements. but more importantly she was deepening her relationship with her lovely girlfriend who was cheerily looking over bounty posters and taking notes for the hunt to come. Buffy knew the time she was spending here was fast becoming the best days of her life so far and soon she needed to find a way to stop Willow and Giles from opening a portal and dragging her home against her will.
Maybe she and Faiths magical enhancements could be aided by practicing magic with Ruby, she would ask her soon as she knew how scared Buffy was of leaving and it was starting to become a serious problem as the days happily drove on and she couldn't even imagine a day where she didn't wake up next to her dark beauty of a slayer anymore.
She was happy... but she knew Sunnydale without Faith was now an empty hell on earth. but if her and Faith could learn enough magic then that fear would slowly become null and void as they both progressed in the magical arts. so that was her plan, magical lessons with Ruby helming the ship and have rings made for them both, she was done being played around in any relationship, she knew what love was now and she would make sure her and Faith were forever, she was someone she could actually see a real future with and it made her happy to be able to wake up every morning and see her lovers smiling face greet the day with her own bewitching visage giving her any number of come hither looks.
