It's All Going to Change

The team had deployed their fire shelters and were under for what seemed like forever when it had only been 20 minutes. Vic decided to speak up, not liking the silence.
"I feel like a baked potato," Vic said, trying to lighten the mood.
"A baked potato on a freight train. I had no idea it would be this loud." Travis said.
"It's literally hailing fire," Dom added.
"It feels like the wind's trying to pick me up," Vic said.
"Hold on tight, everybody," Robert told them.
"Hey, uh. Wait. Has anyone heard anything about Theo?" Vic asked, concern clear in her voice.
"I… Radio… Heard." Everyone heard Andy's radio crackle and then there was silence
"Wait, wait. Captain, your radio is breaking up. What was that?" Vic asked and just heard static.
"Herrera?" Vic questioned. "Herrera, can you hear me?" Vic asked and heard nothing but static.
Maya began to get worried. "Andy? Andy, talk to us." Maya waited, hoping she would get a reply but when she didn't she began to panic. "Andy, please answer." There was no answer again. "Chief, how long until you think it's safe?"
"Right now, it's clear that there's fire all around us. It's still loud so it's not safe." Natasha told her. She was concerned about the young captain too, wondering why she wasn't answering.
It was another 20 minutes when Natasha declared that it was safe. Ross got up from hers she looked around, called that it was safe and then had everyone check in.
"Bishop!", "Hughes!", "Montgomery!", "Dom!" "Sullivan!", "Beckett." were the names called out.
"Herrera?" Travis called and looked around along with everyone else.
"Guys, her fire shelter." Maya pointed to where it was and rushed over. Vic and Maya lifted it and when they saw Andy unconscious they looked at each other, wondering what the hell had happened.
"Chief, we need an aid car," Vic said, reaching out to Andy's neck, hoping to find a pulse. "She has a pulse. Seems strong." Vic told everyone.
"First things first we need to try to get somewhere safe. Hughes and Bishop, help carry Andy. Sullivan and Montgomery carry the patient." Ross ordered and led them to a creek bed, hoping it would be safe until they could find some help.
"How are we going to get help?" Maya asked, worrying about her best friend every second she didn't wake up.
Natasha looked around, she was trying to figure it out. "Beckett, Dom." The two men looked at Ross. "Do you two feel comfortable trying to find help and leading them here?" When the men nodded she was grateful. "Go, and fast."
Dom and Sean got up and rushed away from them. They were walking for a few minutes when they saw what looked to be an engine truck. They looked at each other.
"Hey!" Sean called. "Over here! My captain is down!" Sean told them and they followed his lead.
Sean and Dom rushed back down to the rest of the team. They got Andy up and carried her to one of the aid cars that had arrived.
"Who's going with her?" Maya and Vic looked at each other.
"Bishop, you go. We'll meet you at the hospital when we finish up." Robert told her and Maya rushed to be with her best friend.
They were in the aid car for what seemed like forever when Maya spoke up.
"Her heartbeat is strong. Her oxygen is down, and she's dehydrated." Maya stated and the aid car worker nodded and hooked Andy to an IV.
"Any idea what happened?" The worker, whose name Maya just noticed on his uniform, asked. Boyd was his name.
"We were under fire shelters for almost an hour, she was speaking when all of a sudden she went quiet, but I don't know what the cause for this could be when all of us are breathing fine," Maya told him.
"Was her shelter secure?" Boyd asked. "If it wasn't smoke could've travelled in and caused smoke inhalation," Boyd told her, and it made sense.
"I suppose that's what could have happened. My teammate and I worked to get the shelter off of her, but we didn't notice anything unusual." Maya told him and he just nodded.
It was silent in the aid car the rest of the way to Grey-Sloan. When they arrived, they were met by Meredith and Carina and a couple of nurses. They rushed her into the ER and began to check her vitals, draw blood and place an oxygen mask on her face.
"What happened, Maya?" Carina asked, walking over to her wife who was stood, frozen watching Andy being treated.
Maya looked at her after a few seconds. "No one knows. We were under fire shelters, got up nearly an hour later and when we got up we noticed Andy hadn't called out that she was safe." Maya paused, looking into the room, concerned about her best friend. "We lifted her fire shelter off of her and she was unconscious," Maya explained to her wife.
Carina looked surprised. "Dehydration maybe?"
Maya nodded. "That's why she's on an IV right now."
"Dr. DeLuca-Bishop," Carina heard someone say from behind her. Carina turned around to see Jo Wilson standing there with a tablet. "We fast-tracked Andy's blood and got the results," Jo told her. "I thought you might want to see them."
Carina furrowed her eyebrows but took the tablet. She read the results and her expression turned to one of shock. "Dio Mio."
"Carina?" Maya asked. "What is it? Is something wrong with Andy?" Carina looked up and at her wife.
"I, Uh. Patient doctor, Bambina." Carina said and rushed into Andy's room to talk to Meredith who was still with Andy.
"Dr. Grey, I have Andy's blood test results," Carina told her. She passed Meredith the tablet. She watched her expression turn just like hers had but she could've sworn she saw anger in her face. "Grey? What is it?"
Meredith didn't answer but instead looked out the window to where Maya stood, still unable to move.
"What I tell you can't leave this room," Meredith told her, sighing and running a hand through her hair. Carina nodded, agreeing. "A month ago, Andy went on a date with this guy and he, um. He..." Meredith swallowed and knew she had said enough to clear things up when a look of realization crossed her face.
Carina was speechless. How did no one know?
"She didn't want anyone to know," Meredith told her, placing a hand on her arm, a look of sympathy on her face.
"I said that out loud?" Carina asked, a slight blush on her cheeks. Meredith nodded. "When did it happen?"
"Two months ago," Meredith said. "I know this is a surprise…"
"A surprise? A surprise? I can't believe this happened to her again." Carina said, rubbing a hand over her face. "She fought off her attacker last time she was attacked, why wasn't she able to this time?"
"She had drugs in her system, impaired her worse than any alcohol would," Meredith explained even though she knew Carina knew this.
Carina was about to respond when she heard a groan come from the bed. Both women turned their heads to look over at the bed and saw Andy slowly blinking her eyes open and coughing.
"Hey, Herrera. Welcome back." Meredith said, holding Andy's hand.
"What happened?" Andy asked, slightly muffled because of the oxygen mask.
"You passed out when you were under your fire shelter," Carina told her, and Andy turned her head to look at her. "A lack of oxygen and you were dehydrated."
Andy looked between the two, surprise clear on her face. "What else?" Andy asked and when she saw Meredith looking at her with pity, it clicked. "No." Andy looked at Carina who had a tablet in her hand. "No. Please tell me this is some sick joke." Andy begged, tears forming in her eyes. "Please."
Carina walked closer to the bed and held Andy's other hand. "Andy, it isn't. Blood tests don't lie." Carina told her gently. "We can talk options if you'd like."
"I don't want to talk about it right now," Andy told her, looking down at her hands. "Is everyone else okay?"
"Everyone's safe, Andy," Maya told her, walking into the room. Andy looked up and nodded her head in thanks. "How are you feeling?"
"Sore. Fuzzy." Andy answered shortly. "How are you?"
"Like I said, we're all okay. I'm okay. Promise." Maya told her and watched Andy nod.
"Maya, Meredith. Do you mind if I talk to Carina alone?" Andy asked and even though Maya was confused she nodded and walked out of the room. Meredith followed after squeezing Andy's hand one last time.
"Andy, what do you want to do?" Carina asked, sitting down on the chair near her bed and reaching for her hand again.
Andy looked at Carina and then turned to look at her lap. She wasn't sure what to do. She didn't want to talk about this, but she knew she had to.
I don't want to be pregnant, especially not this way. I've already had one abortion that nearly destroyed me. Can I go through another one? Can I really deal with having a baby that came from someone who would rape me?
Andy asked herself and began to tear up.
What if this is the one chance I have to become a mother?
Andy looked at Carina. "This isn't how I would have wanted to have a child. I don't even want a child right now, but I've already had an abortion before, and it just nearly killed me having to do that." Andy admitted and paused. "My attacker is behind bars," Andy told her and paused again. Andy spoke when she was sure she had made the decision she knew would change her life. "I think I want to keep it."
