Chapter 19: Bobby BearHug vs The Masked Critter: The Sake Of Friendship!
"Duel!" Bobby and the masked critter both shouted,
The duel had begun and it was Turn 1.
Bobby: 4000
Masked Critter: 4000
The Masked Critter was first. He looked at his hand and started his turn by setting a monster.
"I set a monster." He said,
The Masked Critter then followed up by setting two cards face-down in the Spell and Trap Zones.
"I set two cards face-down and end my turn." He said,
Hoppy and PickyPiggy were confused.
"THAT was his turn?!" Hoppy said, "He didn't even do anything powerful!"
"That's a first." PickyPiggy said, "But I don't like the aura he's carrying… He could be setting Bobby up for a trap."
"...Yeah, I can see that as well…"
Turn 2 has started.
Bobby: 4000
Masked Critter: 4000
It was Bobby's turn now. She drew a card from her deck and looked at it.
"Ok, it's time I teach you all the emotion of joy." She started, "We all need joy at the end of this duel, and I'll share some of it as power against you, whoever you are."
Bobby then Normal Summoned a tuner monster.
"I summoned the Tuner Monster, Mannadium Meek!" She said,
Mannadium Meek was summoned in Attack Position with 0 ATK Points.
"Zero Attack Points, huh?" Hoppy said, "Seems pretty daring."
"She said that it's also a Tuner monster." PickyPiggy said,
"No shit…"
PickyPiggy sighed.
Bobby then revealed another monster from her hand.
"And if I have this card in my hand, I can destroy a Mannadium monster I control to Special Summon Mannadium Riumheart!" She said,
Mannadium Riumheart was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points.
"There we go!" Hoppy said, "That's big enough to take down that Defense Position monster!"
Bobby then smiled.
"Alright, now I activate Mannadium Riumheart's ability." She said, "When he's Normal or Special Summoned, I can add a Mannadium card from my Deck to my hand."
Bobby adds another tuner monster named Mannadium Torrid from her deck to her hand.
"But that's not all!" She said, "Mannadium Meek's effect activates from the Graveyard!"
Bobby then Special Summoned another Mannadium Meek from her deck in Defense Position with 1800 DEF Points.
"When it's destroyed by battle or card effect, I can Special Summon another Mannadium Meek from my deck, plus I can increase its Level by 2!" She said,
Mannadium Meek's level is now increased to 4.
"And now, since I control a monster with exactly 1500 ATK Points and 2100 DEF Points, I can Special Summon Mannadium Torris in Defense Position!" Bobby said,
Mannadium Torrid was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 1500 DEF Points.
"Two tuners?!" Hoppy said, "Don't tell me she's gonna–"
"--Now I tune my Level 4 Mannadium Meek and my Level 2 Mannadium Torrid with my Level 4 Mannadium Riumheart!" Bobby shouted,
"She's Synchro Summoning with two tuners?!" DogDay shouted while still on the ground,
"Sounds like it!" PickyPiggy replied,
A Synchro Summon has started with tuners Level 4 Mannadium Meek, Level 2 Mannadium Torrid and non-tuner Level 4 Mannadium Riumheart.
"Use the power of joy as a blessed shield wrapped around you!" Bobby chanted, "Synchro Summon!"
Mannadium Riumheart was seen surrounding himself in white armor with yellow flames.
"Protect and maintain peace, Level 10, Mannadium Prime-Heart!" Bobby shouted,
Mannadium Prime-Heart was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.
"No way!" Hoppy shouted,
"That's a big Synchro Monster right there!" DogDay shouted,
"Impressive…" CatNap said, "Bobby sure has changed her approach in dueling…"
Bobby raised her hand at the set monster.
"Time for battle!" She shouted, "Go, Prime-Heart! Attack the set monster!"
The Battle Phase started as Mannadium Prime-Heart slid towards the set monster and kicked it to the Graveyard, being a Masked Sorcerer.
"What?" Hoppy said, confused, "That was only a Masked Sorcerer!"
"What kind of deck is he even playing?" PickyPiggy wondered,
"Beats me." CatNap replied,
Bobby clenched her fist.
"Now here's where Prime-Heart's two effects come in!" She shouted, "First, Prime-Heart can attack a number of times each Battle Phase, up to a number of Tuner Monsters used for its Synchro Summon! And also, if I used a Mannadium tuner as material, then you cannot target Prime-Heart with card effects!"
The Masked Critter looked down and chuckled.
"Impressive!" DogDay said, "It can't be targeted by anything!"
"Now, attack again, Prime-Heart!" Bobby shouted,
As Mannadium Prime-Heart approaches the Masked Critter, the Masked Critter then reveals one of his face-down cards.
"Not so fast!" He shouted, "I activate one of my face-down cards, the Quick-Play Spell, Fires Of Doomsday!"
"Huh?!" Bobby said,
Two monsters were Special Summoned in Defense Position with 0 DEF Points.
"With this card, I can Special Summon two Doomsday Tokens in Defense Position." The Masked Critter said,
"...But I can still attack one of them." Bobby said as she pointed to one of them, "Attack one of the tokens, Prime-Heart!"
Mannadium Prime-Heart then dashed towards and stomped one of the Doomsday Tokens to dust.
"I set one card face-down and end my turn." Bobby said as she set a card, "It's your turn, whoever you are."
"Before my turn, I activate my Continuous Trap, Royal Decree!" The Masked Critter shouted,
Royal Decree was activated. Everyone else gasped.
"Hey, that's one of the cards I used!" Hoppy said, "...Even though I don't think I used that card against some of you guys…"
"You never used it on us." CatNap said,
"Well that's because I never get to draw it!"
"Well it ain't a good card, hun." PickyPiggy said,
"Shut up!"
Bobby BearHug sighed.
"Great, so I can't use Trap Cards while Royal Decree is on the field…" She said, "Ok, I can try and find a way to win without using Traps."
Turn 3 has started.
Bobby: 4000
Masked Critter: 4000
"It's my turn!" The Masked Critter shouted as he drew a card, "Draw!"
The Masked Critter then activated Lightning Vortex.
"Starting my turn off right, I activate Lightning Vortex, which lets me discard 1 card to destroy all face-up monsters you control!" He shouted,
"...And there's another card that I used…" Hoppy said,
Mannadium Prime-Heart was destroyed by Lightning Vortex.
"Well, you managed to find a weakness of my Prime-Heart." Bobby said, "Even though he can't be targeted by card effects, he can still be destroyed by them. He just cannot be targeted by them."
"We get it!" Hoppy shouted,
"Shhhh!" PickyPiggy said, "Don't talk back to her!"
"Bite me!"
"...I rather not hurt you."
"Wimp."
"Brat."
"Hey, stop arguing, you two!" DogDay shouted, "Bobby's livelihood with us is on the line!"
"Yeah!" CatNap shouted, "Worry about that!"
"...Fine." Hoppy said,
PickyPiggy sighed.
"You're just always complaining about the littlest things." She said, "Grow up."
"...Whatever…" Hoppy said as she looked away,
Bobby then smiled again.
"But I'm not done yet!" She said, "I activate Mannadium Prime-Heart's effect from my Graveyard!"
Mannadium Riumheart was Special Summoned back from the Graveyard in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points.
"When he's destroyed by an opponent's card effect, I can Special Summon one of my monsters with exactly 1500 ATK and 2100 DEF Points from my Graveyard or banished from play!" Bobby said, "So I Special Summoned Riumheart from my Graveyard!"
Bobby then adds a card, being "Mannadium Breakheart" from her deck to her hand.
"And just in case if Royal Decree goes away, I'll just add Mannadium Breakheart from my deck to my hand!" She said,
The Masked Critter chuckled.
"Still enough to take down!" He said as he summoned a monster, "In Attack Position, I Normal Summon Pitch-Black Warwolf!"
Pitch-Black Warwolf was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1600 ATK Points.
"Battle!" The Masked Critter shouted as the Battle Phase started again, "Pitch-Black Warwolf attacks Mannadium Riumheart!"
Pitch-Black Warwolf roared as he rushed over to Mannadium Riumheart.
"Not so fast!" Bobby shouted as she showed a card from her hand, "From my hand, I activate the effect of my monster, Honest!"
Bobby sends Honest from her hand to the graveyard.
"By sending Honest to the graveyard, a Light monster battling an opponent's monster gains ATK Points equal to that monster's ATK Points until the end of this turn!" She shouted, "And since Pitch-Black Warwolf has 1600 ATK Points, Mannadium Riumheart's ATK Points are now at 3100!"
Mannadium Riumheart's ATK Points are increased to 3100 as he uses his sharp boots to kick Pitch-Black Warwolf away from him and to the graveyard of The Masked Critter. The Masked Critter then took 1500 points of damage, leaving him only 2500 Life Points left.
"...I end my turn…" He said,
Turn 4. Bobby's turn again.
Bobby: 4000
Masked Critter: 2500
"I draw!" Bobby shouted as she drew a card and looked at it, "No use, but I know what to do with what I have."
Bobby then played another monster card from her hand and Summoned it in Attack Position, being another Mannadium Riumheart with 1500 ATK Points.
"I Normal Summon another Mannadium Riumheart in Attack Position!" She shouted, "And Riumheart's ability, I can add a Mannadium card from my deck to my hand!"
Bobby then added another Mannadium Tuner Monster from her deck to her hand, being Mannadium Fearless this time.
"And it's Mannadium Fearless, another Tuner Monster!" She shouted, "And since I control Mannadium Riumheart, I can Special Summon it in Defense Position!"
Mannadium Fearless was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 2000 DEF Points.
"And now I tune my Level 2 Mannadium Fearless with one of my Level 4 Mannadium Riumhearts!" Bobby shouted,
Another Synchro Summon has started with Level 2 Mannadium Fearless and Level 4 Mannadium Riumheart.
"I Synchro Summon, the Level 6 Tuner monster, Mannadium Trisukta!" Bobby shouted,
Mannadium Trisukta was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2300 ATK Points.
"A Synchro Tuner monster?" DogDay wondered, "Haven't seen one of those before."
"Me neither." PickyPiggy said,
Hoppy was silent as she still watched the duel and did not say a word.
"Now for Trisukta's effect!" Bobby said, "Upon Synchro Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 2 Tuner from my Graveyard to my field, but negate its effects!"
Mannadium Meek was Special Summoned in Defense Position again with 1800 DEF Points.
"And that will be Mannadium Meek, once again!" Bobby shouted, "And now for one more Synchro Summon, I tune my Level 2 Mannadium Meek with my Level 6 Mannadium Trisukta!"
"What the heck?!" DogDay shouted, "She's using a Tuner as a non-Tuner?!"
"Seems so!" CatNap replied, "Just what is this deck?!"
Yet another Synchro Summon has started, but this time with Level 2 Mannadium Meek and Level 6 Mannadium Trisukta.
"Of Stars and Frost, awaken the clear new world in your favor!" Bobby chanted, "Synchro Summon!"
A human with a big sword appeared.
"Come on out, Level 8, Visas Amritara!" Bobby shouted,
Visas Amritara was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.
"Everyone, this is the monster that keeps my decks running!" Bobby shouted, "Visas Starfrost!"
"Visas Starfrost?" CatNap wondered,
"I'll explain the details later! For now, Battle!"
The Battle Phase started again.
"Mannadium Riumheart will attack your other Doomsday Token!" Bobby shouted,
Mannadium Meek destroys the Doomsday Token with his sharp boots.
"Now, Visas Amritara, or Visas Starfrost while on the field, will attack you directly!" Bobby shouted at the Masked Critter,
Visas Amritara, or Visas Starfrost, attacked The Masked Critter with his big sword, draining his Life Points down to 0.
"NOOOOOO!" He shouted as red lightning bolts started to shock him all around,
The Masked Critter was then on his knees. CatNap and DogDay were freed from the red ropes as they automatically fell apart.
"We're free!" CatNap shouted as he felt his wrists, "And my wrists are swollen…"
"Same for mine…" DogDay said, "But the good news is, Bobby won!"
"She sure did…" Hoppy said, softly,
PickyPiggy went over and hugged Bobby.
"Yeehaw! You did amazing!" She said, "Even though that masked critter didn't have good cards."
"Thanks, but who exactly is that masked critter?" Bobby wondered,
