Chapter 23: Hoppy HopScotch vs RatedRat: Envious Encounters
"Duel!" Both Hoppy and RatedRat shouted,
Turn 1 of the duel between Hoppy HopScotch and RatedRat has started.
Hoppy: 4000
RatedRat: 4000
RatedRat was going first as she started the turn off with a Continuous Spell.
"First things first, I activate the Continuous Spell, LiveTwin Sunny's Snitch!" She started, "When activated, I can add a LiveTwin monster from my deck to my hand!"
RatedRat added a monster called, "LiveTwin Ki-sikil" from her deck to her hand and shuffled the deck afterwards.
"Now I Normal Summoned Ki-sikil in Attack Position!" She shouted,
LiveTwin Ki-Sikil was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 500 ATK Points.
"Well, what a little gremlin that freak is." Hoppy said, "Too bad I'm gonna kick her straight to the moon!"
RatedRat chuckled a bit.
"Oh, wait your turn, Hoppy!" She said, "Besides, Ki-sikil's effect hasn't been activated yet!"
"Oh yeah, and what is it?" Hoppy said, "Because I forgot!"
"I'll show you! When Ki-sikil is Normal or Special Summoned while I control no other monsters, I can Special Summon a Lil-la monster from my hand or deck!"
RatedRat then Special Summoned a monster from her deck to her hand in Attack Position with 500 ATK Points as well.
"And that being LiveTwin Lil-la!" She shouted, "And now for a Link Summon which requires two monsters including a Ki-sikil monster!"
A Link Circuit appeared as LiveTwin Lil-la and Ki-sikil went to the right and bottom Link Arrows.
"Link the circuit!" RatedRat said, "Give it up for Link-2 EvilTwin Ki-sikil!"
EvilTwin Ki-sikil was Link Summoned in Attack Position with 1100 ATK Points.
"Oh, so that's her true identity, huh?" Hoppy said,
"Uhh, yeah?" RatedRat said, "In the digital world of entertainment, she and Lil-la are content creators with BIG secrets! However, in the real world, they're skilled thieves of the night!"
"Thieves? Well, ain't that a threat?"
"But it will be a bigger threat as I activate EvilTwin Ki-sikil's effect! Upon being Special Summoned, and if I control no monsters with Lil-la in its name, I can Special Summon a Lil-la monster from my Graveyard!"
LiveTwin Lil-la was Special Summoned again, but this time, from the Graveyard.
"Now for another Link Summon, so bring up that circuit!" RatedRat shouted as the Link Circuit appeared again, "But this time, the materials required are 2 monsters including a Lil-la monster!"
"She's using a Link-2 monster as Link Material for a Link-2 Link Summon?" CatNap wondered,
"Yeah, guess that's her strategy." DogDay replied,
"It is." DandyDragon replied, "Although having a bit of an ego, RatedRat just loves to show off her deck as if it's the best thing ever created."
"Right…" CatNap said, "I can see why Hoppy hates her."
EvilTwin Ki-sikil and LiveTwin Lil-la were used at Link Materials for the left and bottom arrows of the Link Circuits.
"Let's Link the circuit once again as I Link Summon Link-2 EvilTwin Lil-la!" RatedRat shouted,
EvilTwin Lil-la was Link Summoned in Attack Position with 1100 ATK Points as well.
"Now when Lil-la is Link Summoned, I can Special Summon a Ki-sikil monster from my Graveyard!" RatedRat continued, "And I'll be choosing EvilTwin Ki-sikil!"
EvilTwin Ki-sikil was Special Summoned again, but this time from the Graveyard.
"And when Ki-sikil is Special Summoned while I control a Lil-la monster, I can draw a card!" RatedRat said as she drew a card from her deck and smiled, "Oh, this is gonna be swell!"
"What now?" DogDay wondered,
"She's gonna bring out one of her two ace monsters." DandyDragon replied,
"She's got two like me, DogDay?" CatNap wondered,
"Yes, she does."
RatedRat then pointed at the air with finger and thumb shape like an L.
"You're gonna receive this L as I then send EvilTwin Ki-sikil and EvilTwin Lil-la from my field to the graveyard!" RatedRat chanted, "The duo strikes in the dark and plays the game smart! Let's steal this duel! Come forth, EvilTwins Ki-sikil Lil-la!"
EvilTwins Ki-sikil and Lil-la joined together as Ki-sikil carried Lil-la like a bride and were Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2200 ATK Points.
"That's it?" Hoppy said, "That's how you bring out a more powerful monster? They just band together as one monster!"
"That's the point!" RatedRat shouted, "Damn, Hoppy, you're always no fun!"
"I just hate you for treating your deck like it's God's gift to Earth!"
"Heh, if you say so!"
"Hey! What's going on with the EvilTwins?" DogDay said, "Did they just boost their Points?"
EvilTwins Ki-sikil Lil-la's ATK and DEF Points were raised to 4400.
"What the hell?!" Hoppy shouted, "When did that happen?!"
"Simple!" RatedRat replied, "The EvilTwins gain 2200 ATK and DEF Points as long as I have both a "Lil-la" monster and a "Ki-sikil" monster in my Graveyard!"
"Well, that's a bit rigged."
RatedRat then activated a Field Spell.
"I'll end this turn by activating the Field Spell, LiveTwin Channel!" She said, "And since it's the End Phase, I can return a Ki-sikil or Lil-la monster from my Graveyard back to my deck or Extra Deck!"
RatedRat does so by returning EvilTwin Lil-la from her Graveyard back to her Extra Deck.
"And they got a website." Hoppy said, "Fantastic."
"Well, it's your turn now!" RatedRat said, "Show me what your dumb Armed Dragons got in store, because I'll still beat them with my Twins!"
"Ok, if you say so!"
Hoppy draws a card from her deck to start her turn and Turn 2 of the duel.
Hoppy: 4000
RatedRat: 4000
"Alright! Let's do this!" Hoppy shouted as she played a familiar Spell Card, "I start this turn off by activating the Continuous Spell, Armed Dragon Lightning!"
RatedRat laughed a bit.
"That's it?" She said, "Let me guess, Armed Dragon Thunder LV3?"
"Not quite!" Hoppy said,
"What?"
"I then activate the Spell Card, Dragon Shrine!"
Dragon Shrine was activated, surprising CatNap, DogDay and RatedRat.
"What the?!" CatNap said, "Where did she get that card?!"
"She just dug out her collection to find that card!" DandyDragon replied, "At least that's what she told me during our duel."
"No way…" RatedRat said, "You're actually playing a good card all of a sudden?"
"Yes, yes I am." Hoppy said, "Now, with Dragon Shrine, I can send a Dragon monster from my deck to my Graveyard."
Hoppy searches for a Dragon Normal Monster called, "Serpent Night Dragon" and sends it to the Graveyard.
"And since I sent a Dragon Normal Monster, I can send 1 more Dragon monster from my Deck to the Graveyard!" Hoppy said as she showed another Dragon monster, "And this one is also a good one!"
Hoppy revealed a monster called, "Tempest, Dragon Ruler Of Storms" from her deck. Everyone except for DandyDragon gasped.
"Hey! That's a Dragon Ruler!" One of the critters shouted,
"Where did she get that?!" Another shouted,
"Did she just upgrade her deck all of a sudden?" CatNap said,
"Seems like it!" DogDay replied,
"Of course she did!" DandyDragon replied, "She's full of surprises for an energetic rabbit!"
Hoppy sends Tempest, Dragon Ruler Of Storms to the Graveyard and shuffles her deck.
"I don't understand…" RatedRat said, "When did you upgrade your deck?"
"Last night." Hoppy replied,
"Oh, well, I'm still gonna kick your ass."
"Good luck with that!"
Hoppy then reveals Pile Armed Dragon.
"I'll then activate Pile Armed Dragon from my hand!" She continued, "By sending Armed Dragon Thunder LV3 from my hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon Pile Armed Dragon from my hand!"
Pile Armed Dragon was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points.
"And when Armed Dragon Thunder LV3 was sent to the Graveyard to activate a Dragon monster's effect, I can draw 1 card." Hoppy said as she does so,
"Heh, your dragon is still not powerful enough to take on my EvilTwins!" RatedRat said, "And since you Special Summoned, I activate LiveTwin Sunny's Snitch's effect! Each time you Normal or Special Summon a monster, I gain 200 LP and you take 200 points of damage!"
A lightning bolt hit Hoppy, dealing 200 points of damage to her. Hoppy now has 3800 Life Points while RatedRat gained 200 Life Points, leading her with 4200 Life Points.
"I don't care…" Hoppy said, "I can still continue on like this!"
"Really?" RatedRat wondered,
"Really! I activate Tempest's effect from my Graveyard!"
Serpent Night Dragon and Armed Dragon Thunder LV3 were banished from Hoppy's graveyard.
"By banishing two Wind and or Dragon monsters from my Graveyard, I can Special Summon Tempest to my field!" She shouted, "So look out, everyone, because a storm is coming!"
Tempest, Dragon Ruler Of Storms was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2400 ATK Points. It roared as its tornado-like body seemed to be creating a windstorm.
"Incredible!" DogDay shouted, "Hoppy really has improved on her deck!"
Hoppy then clenched her left hand into a fist as she took 200 more points of damage from LiveTwin Sunny's Snitch's effect. RatedRat meanwhile gained 200 more Life Points.
"I now overlay my Level 7 Pile Armed Dragon and Level 7 Tempest to build the Overlay Network!" Hoppy shouted,
"SHE'S NOW XYZ SUMMONING?!" CatNap and DogDay both shouted,
Pile Armed Dragon and Tempest were used as Xyz Materials to build the Overlay Network.
"Load the missiles and fuel the engines, because the winds are gonna be blowing harder than ever!" Hoppy chanted, "Xyz Summon! Rank 7, Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack!"
Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack was Xyz Summoned in ATK Position with 2600 ATK Points. Two stars floating around it are its Xyz Materials used for its Xyz Summoning. Hoppy then took 200 more points of damage which brought her Life Points down to 3400 while RatedRat gained another 200 to her now total of 4600 Life Points.
"Well, look at you, using an Extra Deck for once!" RatedRat said, "But that's still not gonna help the fact that I'm still gaining Life Points while you're only losing some!"
"But I'm only getting started." Hoppy said, "You can throw as many points of damage to me as you want, but I'm still gonna keep going."
"Carry on then, Hoppy! Try and stop me!"
"Will do! I activate Dracossack's ability!"
One of Dracossack's Xyz Materials vanish as Hoppy detaches Tempest as Xyz Material.
"By detaching 1 Xyz Material, I can Special Summon two Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens!" She said,
Two Mecha Phantom Beast tokens were Special Summoned in Defense Position with 0 DEF Points. Hoppy took 200 more points of damage while RatedRat gained 200 more Life Points. Hoppy now has 3200 Life Points while RatedRat has 4800.
"And now for Dracossack's other effect! By tributing a Token, I can destroy a card on the field, so I'm destroying your EvilTwins!" Hoppy shouted,
"Oh, shit!" RatedRat shouted,
One of the Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens was used as a missile from Dracossack as it then launches directly at EvilTwins Ki-sikil Lil-la, destroying them.
"NO! MY EVIL TWINS!" RatedRat shouted,
"You're lucky that my Dracossack can't attack during the turn it activates its 2nd effect." Hoppy said, "Very lucky."
"Well, what are you gonna do with that other token then?"
"Simple, for a Tribute Summon! I sacrificed my other Mecha Phantom Beast Token to Tribute Summon for Armed Dragon Thunder LV5!"
The other Mecha Phantom Beast Token was tributed for Armed Dragon Thunder LV5 as it was Tribute Summoned in Attack Position with 2400 ATK Points.
"And now for Armed Dragon Thunder LV5's effect!" Hoppy said, "By sending him and Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 from my hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon another Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 from my Deck!"
Armed Dragon Thunder LV5 and an Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 from Hoppy's hand were sent to the Graveyard as Hoppy then Special Summoned another Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 from her deck in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points.
"Now for Armed Dragon Thunder LV7's effect from the Graveyard, which lets me add an Armed Dragon card from my Deck to my Hand!" Hoppy said as she added Pile Armed Dragon, "And now for Armed Dragon Thunder LV7's effect on my field to activate!"
"Is she gonna finally bring out a LV10 Armed Dragon?" DogDay said,
"Sounds like it!" CatNap said,
"I send Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 from my field and Pile Armed Dragon from my hand to the Graveyard!" Hoppy said as she did so with thunder bolts raining down around while she started a summoning chant, "Unleash your rage with your inner lightning upon all surrounding you!"
Hoppy then raised a card she got from her deck in the air.
"Bring it all down to their demise, Armed Dragon Thunder LV10!" She shouted as she Special Summoned Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.
Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 has appeared! It roared at RatedRat. RatedRat gulped.
"Well, you just prevented me from using Sunny's Snitch from dealing more burn damage to you." She said,
"I just did." Hoppy said, "Now for Armed Dragon Lightning's effect! I can use it to have Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 gain ATK Points equal to its Level times 100, so my dragon gains 1000 ATK Points!"
Armed Dragon Thunder LV10's ATK Points were then raised to 4000.
"Now for the Battle Phase!" Hoppy shouted as The Battle Phase started, "Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 will attack you directly!"
Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 then used its lightning bolts to conduct its fists under the lightning bolts. It then punched RatedRat while RatedRat blocked the hit with her duel disk. She groaned in pain while clenching her teeth as if she's growling. RatedRat's Life Points were then down to 800 after receiving 4000 points of damage from Armed Dragon Thunder LV10. RatedRat was breathing heavily after that devastating attack was dealt to her.
"Damn…" She said, "You almost killed me back there…"
"Well I didn't." Hoppy said, "And again, be lucky that Dracossack didn't attack you to end this duel since it can't declare an attack from its 2nd effect."
"Good, thanks for the heads-up, Sherlock."
Hoppy chuckled.
"I end my turn." She said, "And go ahead and return a Ki-sikil or Lil-la monster from your Graveyard, I'm not gonna stop you."
KickinChicken meanwhile was trying to call Hoppy while outside of his house.
"Come on, Hoppy! Pick up!" He shouted, "Pick up, damn it!"
Hoppy didn't pick up. There was a pre-recorded message.
"Hey, this is Hoppy, but I ain't here." The message said, "Leave a message and I might call you back."
KickinChicken sighed as he put his phone away.
"Fine." He said, "I guess I don't need you for what we're about to do today."
KickinChicken then walked away as he was about to write a small note and delivered it to someone's house. He knocks on the door and runs off as fast as he can to not be seen. Someone to the house opened the front door, revealing Mr. Wolfgang as he looked at the note below.
"Huh, what's this?" He wondered as he picked it up and read it, ""Meet me at the abandoned warehouse, and bring your deck?" …What's going on? Who sent me this?"
Back to the duel between Hoppy and RatedRat. It was then Turn 3.
Hoppy: 3200
RatedRat: 800
"I draw!" RatedRat said as she drew to the start her turn and revealed another monster, "I Normal Summon LiveTwin Ki-sikil Frost in Attack Position!"
LiveTwin Ki-sikil Frost was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 500 ATK Points.
"Another Ki-sikil monster?" Hoppy said,
"And another Lil-la monster!" RatedRat replied as she showed another monster, "Since I control a Ki-sikil monster, I can Special Summon LiveTwin Lil-la Treat from my hand!"
LiveTwin Lil-la Treat was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 500 ATK Points.
"And then she's gonna bring out her EvilTwin Link Monsters again, huh?" DogDay wondered,
"Yup." CatNap replied,
Wolf Wolfgang meanwhile was walking to the address of a specific abandoned warehouse the note wrote for him.
"Hello?" He hollered, "Anyone here?"
The front doors locked as Wolf turned around to see KickinChicken.
"Kickin?!" Wolf said, "What are you doing here?!"
"Duel me, Mr. Wolfgang." KickinChicken replied in a different, but serious tone, "I don't have all day."
"O-Oh! You were the one with the note?! Ok, hold on, I have my duel disk and deck!"
KickinChicken smiled like a maniac.
"...Good." He said,
Back to the duel between Hoppy HopScotch and RatedRat. RatedRat recently Link Summoned EvilTwin Ki-sikil and used her effect to bring back EvilTwin Lil-la from the Graveyard.
"Now I use Lil-la's effect!" RatedRat said, "When she's Special Summoned while I control a Ki-sikil monster, I can destroy a card you control, so say goodbye to your Armed Dragon Thunder LV10!"
Hoppy smiled as she sent her Armed Dragon Lightning from her field to the Graveyard.
"And if my dragon would be destroyed, then I'll send Armed Dragon Lightning to the Graveyard instead." Hoppy said, "It's gonna take more than to destroy my dragon!"
RatedRat smiled.
"Oh, don't worry, it will be more than that." She said, "I once again, bring back the Link Circuit!"
The Link Circuit appeared again as everyone else was surprised.
"Another Link Summon?!" DogDay said,
"In order to summon this monster, I must use at least 2 monsters including an EvilTwin monster, so I'm using my two EvilTwin Link Monsters, Ki-sikil and Lil-la as Link Materials!" RatedRat shouted as the EvilTwins were used as Link Materials to the Top, Left, Right and Bottom Link Arrows of the Link Circuit, "Link the circuit once again!"
Two more figures slowly appeared in the shadows.
"You better not mess with these two because they'll snitch their way for me to win!" RatedRat chanted, "Which is why I Link Summon, Link-4, EvilTwin's Trouble Sunny!"
EvilTwin's Trouble Sunny fully appeared as they were Link Summoned in Attack Position with 3300 ATK Points.
"3300 ATK Points!" DogDay said,
"But Hoppy's Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 has 5000 ATK Points after trying to destroy the Field Spell." CatNap said, "Then again, RatedRat did have an extra Field Spell in her hand of the same name."
"Well let's hope Hoppy can try and take down that big Link Monster!"
"Time for battle!" RatedRat shouted,
The Battle Phase started again.
"Trouble Sunny will attack Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack!" RatedRat shoutes,
EvilTwin's Trouble Sunny attacked Dracossack and destroyed it, dealing 700 points of damage to Hoppy. Hoppy now has 2500 Life Points remaining.
"That was still nothing." Hoppy said,
"Well how about now?" RatedRat said, "I activate Trouble Sunny's effect! By tributing Trouble Sunny, I can bring back a Lil-la monster and a Ki-sikil monster from my Graveyard!"
"Of course."
"So come back, EvilTwin Ki-sikil and EvilTwin Lil-la!"
EvilTwin Ki-sikil and EvilTwin Lil-la were brought back.
And since I Special Summoned Lil-la first and then Ki-sikil, I can use Ki-sikil's effect to draw 1 card!" RatedRat said as she does so,
"Well, that's not gonna stop my dragon!" Hoppy said,
"Now it will! Before I end my turn, I activate the effect of my Trouble Sunny from my Graveyard!"
RatedRat banished EvilTwin's Trouble Sunny from her Graveyard and sent Ki-sikil from her field to the Graveyard.
"By banishing Trouble Sunny and sending an EvilTwin monster from my hand, deck or face-up field to the Graveyard, I can send your Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 to the Graveyard!"
Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 was sent to the Graveyard.
"Fantastic." Hoppy said,
"Fantastic indeed!" RatedRat said, "It's your turn now!"
"Gladly!"
"Oh, but wait! Let me use Channel to return LiveTwin Ki-sikil to my deck!"
Hoppy then drew a card to start Turn 4.
Hoppy: 2500
RatedRat: 800
Hoppy looked at the card she drew and laughed.
"Oh, I'm just lucky all of a sudden!" She said, "I activate Dragon Shrine once again!"
RatedRat gasped.
"You got a 3rd one?!" She said, "The 2nd one wasn't enough after you sent that to activate LV10's effect?!"
"Look, I'm running some dragons here, ok?!" Hoppy said, "And wow, I can send Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos from my deck to the graveyard!"
Hoppy does so as she then banished two of her Pile Armed Dragons from her Graveyard to Special Summon Blaster.
"And by banishing my two Pile Armed Dragons from my Graveyard, I can Special Summon Blaster from my Graveyard!" She said,
Blaster, Dragon Ruler Of Infernos was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points. Hoppy took 200 points of damage from LiveTwin Sunny's Snitch's effect while RatedRat gained 200 Life Points. It was now 2300-1000.
"No, no, no!" RatedRat shouted, "What is going on?! My cards aren't working against your monster!"
"Unfortunately, they never did!" Hoppy said, "Battle!"
The Battle Phase started once again.
"Blaster, erupt the volcanos and burn EvilTwin Lil-la to ashes and end this duel!" Hoppy shouted,
Blaster roared as he shot out lava at EvilTwin Lil-la, dealing 1700 points of damage to RatedRat, making her Life Points go down to 0.
"DAMN YOUUUUU!" RatedRat shouted as she lost the duel,
"YEAH! THAT'S OUR HOPPY!" DogDay shouted in glee,
"HELL YEAH SHE IS!" DandyDragon shouted,
"...Yeah!" CatNap said as he chuckled a bit, "I don't know how to get excited in a situation like this."
