S-M-I-L-E everyday! ...Well except when a fellow critter sacrificed herself in a duel to make sure her friends doesn't suffer the same fate as her... After the supposed death of CraftyCorn, these critters are no longer smiling. They've changed and now a lot of questions need to be answered, mostly, Who was the individual that took CraftyCorn's life away?

30. Chapter 29

Chapter 29: DogDay vs Bobby BearHug: Between Light And Darkness, The Emotions Of Joy And Sorrow!

CatNap went back into the locker room to be greeted by his friends.

"CatNap!" DogDay shouted as he went over to hug him, "You did awesome, buddy!"

"Ha ha, thanks…" CatNap said, "I didn't know I was gonna win."

"Well you did!"

Bubba smiled.

"Good for you, CatNap." He said, "Keep up the momentum."

"I will, Bubba, thanks." CatNap said,

Bobby took a deep breath.

"You did great." She said,

"Yeah!" Hoppy shouted, "Way to show her a turn around!"

"Ha ha, looks like the old Hoppy is slowly coming back!" DogDay said,

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

"...Never mind."

Then, an announcement went off.

"In 5 minutes, the 2nd duel of Round 1 between DogDay and Bobby BearHug will begin. The two names in the round must be ready in 5 minutes."

"Well, that's us." DogDay said to Bobby as he sighed, "I'm probably gonna lose this one, huh?"

"Don't worry, DogDay!" Bobby said, "Just remember, this is not about winning, it's about our friendship together!"

"Whatever that means, I'll follow it."

"Good. I'll see you on the field. I gotta hurry up and get my makeup down!"

Bobby left.

"Well hurry up, because you got 5 minutes!" Bubba hollered,

Bubba sighed.

"Why am I rushing her?" He wondered,

"I guess if makeup is art, then you can't really rush it." Hoppy replied,

"...Yeah."

Later out into the main dueling field, RatedRat was standing in the middle of it, announcing the 2nd duel of Round 1!

"The 2nd Duel of Round 1 will start now!" She shouted, "It's DogDay vs Bobby BearHug! Who will win this one?! Let's find out, now!"

DogDay and Bobby BearHug were on opposite sides of the Dueling Field as they start their Duel Disks up to start the duel, once RatedRat left the field to head back to the commentary booth.

"Duel!" Both DogDay and Bobby shouted,

The duel has started. DogDay was first as he looked at his hand of 5 cards. Some old, some new. He took a deep breath.

"Ok, let's do this!" He said as he played a card from his hand, "Since this is my Main Phase, I'll start my turn off by Special Summoning the Tuner monster, Assault Synchron!"

Assault Synchron was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 0 DEF Points, however, DogDay took 700 points of damage, leaving him with 3300 Life Points left.

"Unfortunately, I have to take 700 points of damage after Special Summoning Assault Synchron." He said, "Which is the same amount as its Attack Points."

DogDay then sets a card.

"I'll then set a card face-down and pass it to you." He said,

Bobby was concerned.

"He… He's not gonna Synchro Summon?" She said to herself, "I guess he's got a bad hand."

Bobby then took a deep breath as she drew a card.

"I'll gladly start my turn!" She said,

It was Turn 2.

DogDay: 3300

Bobby BearHug: 4000

Bobby then played a Spell Card.

"I'll start my turn off by activating the Spell Card, Reinforcement Of The Army!" She said, "This lets me add a Level 4 or lower Warrior monster from my Deck to my Hand!"

Bobby then searches for that monster and reveals it to DogDay.

"And I'll choose a new monster to show you!" She said, "And that's Tearlaments Reinoheart!"

"Tearlaments?" DogDay said,

PickyPiggy was watching from the audience.

"Tearlaments?" She wondered, "First Scareclaw, then Mannadium and now Tearlament? What is going on with her deck? It's like she's playing 3 totally different decks at once!"

Bobby then Normal Summoned Tearlaments Reinoheart.

"And now I'll Normal Summon Reinoheart in Attack Position!" She said,

Tearlaments Reinoheart was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points.

"And when he's Normal Summoned, I can send a Tearlaments monster from my deck to the Graveyard except for himself!" Bobby continued, "Hope you're ready to learn about the emotion of sorrow, DogDay!"

"Oh boy…" DogDay said, scared,

Bobby then sends Tearlaments Merrli from her deck to the Graveyard.

"And when Tearlaments Merrli is sent to the Graveyard, I can now Fusion Summon a monster from my Extra Deck by placing her and another monster on the field, in my hand, or in my Graveyard as Fusion Materials, on the bottom of my Deck in any order!" She said, "So now I'll be returning Tearlaments Merrli from my Graveyard and Tearlaments Reinoheart from my field back to the bottom of my Deck as Fusion Materials!"

Returning Tearlaments Merrli and Tearlaments Reinoheart back to the bottom of her deck, Bobby BearHug has performed a Fusion Summon.

"Rule the deep with your beautiful tears of glittering sparkle!" She chanted, "I Fusion Summon, Level 5, Tearlaments Kitkallos!"

Tearlaments Kitkallos was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 2300 ATK Points.

"Woah…" DogDay said,

"Wow…" PickyPiggy said from the audience,

"Another deck with a different emotion, huh?" Hoppy said from the locker rooms,

"Now I activate Kitkallos's effect!" Bobby said, "Upon being Fusion Summoned, I can take 1 Tearlaments card from my deck and either add it to my hand or send it to the graveyard, and guess where I'm gonna take that card to?"

"...Your graveyard?" DogDay wondered,

"My graveyard!"

Bobby then searches for Tearlaments Havnis and sends her to the Graveyard.

"And since I send another one of my Tearlaments ladies, I can use Havnis' similar effect to Fusion Summon by returning her back to the bottom of my Deck and returning Kitkallos back to my Extra Deck as Fusion Materials!" She said,

"Oh boy, another Fusion Summon!" PickyPiggy said from the audience, "Who's she gonna Fusion Summon this time?"

Tearlaments Havnis and Kitkallos were returned to the Deck and Extra Deck as Fusion Materials. Another Fusion Summon by Bobby BearHug has begun.

"Fuse with the tears of your fellow mermaids and turn into a divine queen from the seas!" Bobby chanted, "Fusion Summon!"

A powerful version of Kitkallos slowly emerges.

"Dive down, Level 8, Tearlaments Rulkallos!" Bobby shouted,

Tearlaments Rulkallos was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.

"Yeah, there's no way I'm gonna defeat her." DogDay said to himself,

"Now, let's battle!" Bobby shouted as the Battle Phase began, "Rulkallos, attack Assault Synchron!"

Rulkallos dashed towards Assault Synchron and raised her sword in the air to attack the monster.

"Slash Of Sorrowing Grief!" Bobby shouted,

Rulkallos destroyed Assault Synchron. DogDay gulped.

"Oh boy." He said, "I gotta come back from this one."

Bobby then sets two cards in the Spell and Trap Zone.

"I set two and pass the turn to you, DogDay." Bobby said,

DogDay then draws. It was Turn 3.

DogDay: 3300

Bobby BearHug: 4000

DogDay looks at the card he drew.

"Huh, ok, time to surprise someone!" He said as he Special Summons it, "I Special Summon Cyber Dragon in Attack Position!"

Cyber Dragon was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2100 ATK Points. This surprised his friends dueling him, in the audience and in the locker rooms.

"Cyber Dragon?!" Hoppy said, "Bubba, that's one of your cards!"

Bubba chuckled.

"Well, I'm surprised he's using another Level 5 monster other than Garbage Lord or The Tricky." He said, "So I'll give him credit for that."

CatNap smiled

"DogDay knows damn well that he's gonna cook up something nice in this duel." He said,

DogDay then Normal Summoned a monster.

"Now I Summoned another Tuner monster, and this one is Vision Resonator!" He shouted,

Vision Resonator was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 400 DEF Points.

"And now I tune my Level 2 Vision Resinator with my Level 5 Cyber Dragon!" DogDay shouted,

A Synchro Summon between Level 2 tuner Vision Resonator and Level 5 non-tuner Cyber Dragon has started.

"I Synchro Summon, Level 7, Chaos King Archfiend!" DogDay shouted,

Chaos King Archfiend was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2600 ATK Points.

"Well, a new Synchro Monster." Bobby said, "Only 400 ATK Points off from my Rulkallos."

"Not for long." DogDay said,

"Cone again?"

"Because it's time for battle!"

The Battle Phase has started.

"Chaos King Archfiend, attack Tearlaments Rulkallos!" DogDay shouted,

Chaos King Archfiend then declared an attack on Rulkallos.

"And this is where Chaos King Archfiend activates his effect!" DogDay said, "When he declares an attack, I can switch the current ATK and DEF Points of all face-up monsters you control until the end of the Battle Phase!"

"Oh!" Bobby said,

Rulkallos's ATK Points were now 2500 while her DEF Points were now 3000.

"Yes, I can now destroy Rulkallos!" DogDay said,

"Are you sure about that?" Bobby said with a smile,

"Huh?"

"I activate my Trap Card, Tearlaments Metanoise!"

The Trap Card, Tearlaments Metanoise, was activated.

"With this card, if I control a Tearlaments monster or Visas Starfrost, then I can target 1 face-up monster you control and change it to face-down Defense Position!" Bobby said, "So your Chaos King Archfiend will now set!"

Chaos King Archfiend was then set to face-down Defense Position upon hearing the songs of the Tearlaments.

"Darn it!" DogDay said as he scratched the back of his head, "I got a little excited there! Ha ha…"

"Indeed you did." Bobby said, "Now after that, I must send a Tearlaments monster from my Deck to the Graveyard through Metanoise."

Bobby then sends Tearlaments Reinoheart from her Deck to the Graveyard.

"And this will be Reinoheart." She said, "He does have an effect where if he was sent to the Graveyard by card effect, I can Special Summon him and send a Tearlaments card from my hand to the Graveyard. …But, I would rather not."

"Ok then…" DogDay said,

DogDay was worried as he thought to himself.

"I don't know what Bobby is cooking up, but I gotta keep my focus up." He said to himself, "She could be bringing out another powerful monster."

DogDay then ended his turn.

"I'll end my turn." He said,

"Ok then." Bobby said, "It's my turn!"

Bobby then draws a card to start Turn 4.

DogDay: 3300

Bobby BearHug: 4000

Tensions are already getting high in this duel. Bobby then activated a Field Spell she drew.

"I activate the Field Spell, Primeval Planet Perlereino!" Bobby said,

The Field Spell was activated on Bobby's side of the field.

"Fusion Monsters and Tearlaments monsters I control gain 500 ATK Points." She said, "And when it's activated, I can add a Tearlaments monster or Visas Starfrost from my Deck to my Hand."

Bobby then adds Tearlaments Scheiren from her Deck to her Hand and shuffles it.

"And that will be Tearlaments Scheiren." She said, "Because there is an effect where I can Special Summon her and then send a monster from my hand and send the top 3 cards of my Deck to the Graveyard."

"But you would rather not?" DogDay wondered,

"I would rather not, because I'm Normal Summoning her!"

Tearlaments Scheiren was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1800 ATK Points, but was boosted to 2300 under Perlereino's effect.

"Ok, what now?" DogDay wondered,

"Now, from my hand, I activate this guy's effect!" Bobby shouted as she revealed one of her monsters from her hand, "Visas Starfrost!"

"There it is!" Hoppy said, "There's that card she says was all about in her Deck!"

"By targeting 1 monster I control with a different Type and Attribute than this card, I can destroy it and Special Summon Visas Starfrost from my hand!"

Tearlaments Scheiren was destroyed as Visas Starfrost was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 2100 ATK Points.

"And now for Scheiren's effect!" Bobby said, "Upon being sent to the GY, I can also Fusion Summon by returning Fusion Materials back into the bottom of my Deck or Extra Deck!"

"Another Fusion Summon?!" CatNap said from the locker rooms,

"I return Tearlaments Rulkallos, Tearlaments Scheiren and Tearlaments Reinoheart as Fusion Materials!"

Tearlaments Reinoheart, Scheiren and Rulkallos were being returned to the bottom of Bobby's Deck and Extra Deck as Fusion Materials. A powerful Fusion Summon has started!

"Control the sorrow of the mermaids and those around you and wreak havoc to the planet you dominate on!" Bobby chanted, "Fusion Summon!"

Tentacles started to grow out of the waters of Perlereino, scaring DogDay.

"Uh-oh…" He said,

"Rule the deep, Level 9, Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart!" Bobby shouted,

Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart came out of the waters with a whip and longer nails as he was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points, but boosted to 3500 with Perlereino's effect.

"Oh, I'm screwed." DogDay said,

"Indeed you are, because now I activate Kaleido-Heart's effect!" Bobby said, "Upon being Normal Summoned I can shuffle a card you control back into the deck, so I'm choosing your face-down card in the Spell and Trap Zone!"

DogDay gulped as he shuffled back his Trap Card, Draining Shield back into his Deck.

"And another thing, when a Tearlaments monster I control or in my GY is shuffled, I can target a card on the field and destroy it." Bobby said, "So I'm gonna destroy…"

"Please don't be my Chaos King Archfiend…" DogDay said,

"My other face-down card!"

"...What?"

Perlereino then destroyed Bobby's other face-down card, being the Quick-Play Spell, Tearlaments Heartbeat.

"And when Heartbeat is destroyed, I can add one of my Tearlaments Traps from my Graveyard back to my Hand, so I'm returning Tearlaments Metanoise to my hand!" Bobby said as she does so,

DogDay sighed in relief.

"I thought I was a goner." He said,

"Hey, I'm not done yet." Bobby said,

"Oh no.

"When I control Visas Starfrost, I can Special Summon one of MY Tuner Monsters!" Bobby said as she does so, "Mannadium Meek!"

Mannadium Meek was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 1800 DEF Points.

"Now I tune my Level 2 Tuner Mannadium Meek with my Level 6 Tuner Visas Starfrost!" Bobby shouted,

"And she can tune with a tuner." DogDay said, "I think I know who she's bringing out."

A Synchro Summon between Level 2 tuner Mannadium Meek and Level 6 tuner Visas Starfrost has started.

"Use the powers of Stars and Frost to awaken a brand new world!" Bobby chanted, "Synchro Summon!"

A glowing figure appeared.

"Awaken in your new powers, Level 8, Visas Amritara!" Bobby shouted,

Visas Amritara was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"When Synchro Summon, I can add a card from my Deck to my Hand that mentions Visas Starfrost." Bobby said as she added the Field Spell, Peaceful Planet Calarium, "Which I'll save for later."

"Calarium…" DogDay said to himself, "That explains the Mannadium Meek she just Special Summoned since Visas was on the field…"

Bobby smiled.

"Time for battle!" She said as the Battle Phase started, "Kaleido-Heart, attack Chaos King Archfiend set in face-down Defense Position!"

Kaleido-Heart then lifts his whip in the air.

"Kaleido Whip Of Sorrow!" Bobby shouted,

Kaleido-Heart then destroyed Chaos King Archfiend.

"Now Visas Starfrost as Amritara will attack you directly!" Bobby shouted, "Amritara Slash!"

Visas Starfrost then uses his giant sword to slash DogDay, dealing 2500 points of damage to him, and leaving his life points to 800. He was still standing after dealing with a deadly attack.

"Are you ok?" Bobby wondered,

"I'm fine…" DogDay replied with a smile,

"Ok, well, I'll end my turn."

"Thanks. Here I go!"

DogDay then got up and draw a card to start his turn.

Turn 5.

DogDay: 800

Bobby BearHug: 4000

DogDay then looks at the card he just drew and smiles.

"This is perfect." He said as he activated it, "I activate the Spell Card, Swords Of Revealing Light!"

5 swords made out of light started to fall from the sky ro block Bobby's side of the field.

"With this card, you can't attack for 3 of your turns." DogDay said, "And with that, I end my turn."

"That's it?" Bobby said, "Ok, I can wait! I draw!"

Bobby draws a card as Turn 6 began.

Bobby then looks at the card she drew and sets it.

"I'll set this card face-down and end my turn." She said,

"My turn!" DogDay said as he drew another card,

Turn 7 began as DogDay looked at his card.

"Yes! Just what I need!" He said as he played it, "I activate Pot Of Greed, which lets me draw an extra 2 cards from my deck!"

DogDay drew 2 cards through Pot Of Greed and smiled.

"Exactly what I need!" He said as he Special Summons one of the cards he drew, "With no monsters, I can Special Summon Oracle Of The Sun in Defense Position!"

Oracle Of The Sun was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 2000 DEF Points.

"And then, I Normal Summon the Tuner monster, Fire Ant Ascator, in Attack Position!" DogDay said as he Special Summons Fire Ant Ascator in Attack Position with 700 ATK Points,

"There it is…" Bobby said, "Now he's gonna bring out one of his big monsters!"

"Alright! I tune my Level 3 Fire Ant Ascator with my Level 5 Oracle Of The Sun!"

A Synchro Summon has started with Level 3 tuner Fire Ant Ascator and Level 5 non-tuner Oracle Of The Sun.

"The sky is always the limit, and you will shine bright like the sun you always are!" DogDay chanted, "Synchro Summon! Rise up, Level 8, Sun Dragon Inti!"

Sun Dragon Inti appeared as it was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.

"Still not enough to take on Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart." Bobby said, "So there's no need to use my–"

"--But I'm not done yet, Bobby!" DogDay said, "By banishing Fire Ant Ascator, a Tuner from my Graveyard, I can Special Summon this monster, Weeping Idol!"

Weeping Idol was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 500 DEF Points after banishing Fire Ant Ascator from the Graveyard.

"Huh?" Bobby said, "What do you have in your mind now?"

"Another Synchro Summon!" DogDay replied, "And one enough to take down your two monsters!"

"But how?! Your Weeping Idol isn't a Tuner!"

"It will be treated as one since it's a Dark monster!"

"What?!"

Everyone was surprised.

"DogDay, what are you trying to do now?" Bubba said from the locker room,

"I think I know what he's gonna do." CatNap replied with a smile,

"Now, as a Tuner, I tune my Level 2 Weeping Idol with my Level 8 Sun Dragon Inti!" DogDay shouted on the duel field,

"A Synchro Summon with two non-tuners?!" PickyPiggy said from the audience, "This is crazy!"

Weeping Idol started to become a Tuner as he tunes the Level 8 Sun Dragon Inti for a Level 10 Synchro Summon.

"Wield between the light and darkness to rain down chaos on the mortal grounds!" DogDay chanted, "Synchro Summon!"

A being with dark and light powers slowly appears.

"Ascend into chaos, Level 10, Chaos Angel!" DogDay shouted,

Chaos Angel was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 3500 ATK Points. Everyone was surprised to see the new powerful Synchro Monster of DogDay's.

"Chaos Angel…" PickyPiggy said, "So he and CatNap are playing Chaos, huh?"

DogDay was confident.

"This is it! One of my new powerful Synchro Monsters is here!" He said, "And this is where I use one of his effects! Upon being Synchro Summoned, I can banish 1 card on the field, so I'm banishing your Kaleido-Heart, Bobby! And don't try to use any monster effects on him, because since his Synchro Materials both have Light and Dark attributes, Synchro Monsters like him are unaffected by your monster effects and he cannot be destroyed by battle!"

Bobby clapped her hands.

"I'm impressed, DogDay!" She said, "I love how you're so confident after bringing out a monster that powerful. …But unfortunately, I can't let Kaleido-Heart's banishment slide."

"Ha ha… What are you talking about?" DogDay wondered,

"I'm sorry to say this, but I activate my Trap Card, Bottomless Trap Hole."

Bottomless Trap Hole was activated, gasping and surprising DogDay in a bad way.

"You summoned a monster with 1500 or more Attack Points." Bobby said, "So, he's destroyed and banished."

Chaos Angel was destroyed and banished as Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart was banished through Chaos Angel's effect. DogDay was left there, completely blank and wide open for an attack.

In the locker rooms, Bubba was shocked.

"Oh… This is gonna mentally hurt DogDay for a while." He said,

"...And I was looking forward to dueling him in the Semi-Finals..." CatNap said,

DogDay looked down.

"...I end my turn." He said,

Bobby, worried, drew a card to start Turn 8. She looked at DogDay who was slowly weeping.

"DogDay…" Bobby said, concerned, "Are you ok?"

DogDay sniffed as he looked at Bobby with tears in his eyes.

"No…" He replied, "I really wanted to help this group… But I failed…"

Bobby looked down.

"Look, it's ok." She said, "Losing a duel over the sake of our group's friendship isn't the end of the world."

DogDay sniffed again.

"I'm sorry." He said, "I'm just letting my emotions get in my way…"

"Hey, look, it's ok." Bobby said, "You did your best. You brought out one of your powerful monsters, so that's an achievement at least."

"Yeah…"

DogDay took a deep breath as he smiled a bit.

"Alright, I guess you win." He said, "Go ahead and use Visas to finish me off."

"Well, I was gonna show you the emotion of joy." Bobby said, "Since that's what you need now."

"Ha ha… Ok, do it then!"

"Gladly!"

Bobby then Special Summoned a Tuner Monster.

"I'll Special Summon the tuner monster Mannadium Torrid in Defense Position!" She said,

Mannadium Torrid was Special Summoned in Defense Position with 1500 DEF Points.

"Now I tune my Level 2 Mannadium Torrid with my Level 8 Visas Amritara as a LIGHT monster!" Bobby shouted,

A Level 10 Synchro Summon has started with Level 2 tuner Mannadium Torrid and Level 8 Visas Amritara.

"Protect the peaceful and joyful pride with your armor of glittering hope!" Bobby chanted, "Synchro Summon! Go into your prime, Level 10, Mannadium Prime-Heart!"

Mannadium Prime-Heart was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.

"Now for the Battle Phase!" Bobby shouted as the Battle Phase started, "Mannadium Prime-Heart will attack you directly! Reframing Prime Kick!"

Mannadium Prime-Heart then dashed towards DogDay and used his energy blades on his boots to charge up an attack. He then performed a spinning heel kick on DogDay, dealing 3000 points of damage to him while DogDay covered himself with his duel disk. DogDay had 0 Life Points remaining. The duel was over. He then landed on one knee as Bobby went over to get him up.

"Are you ok?" Bobby asked him,

"Yeah…" DogDay replied, softly, "Glad you won… Good luck taking on CatNap."

"Heh heh, I will."

RatedRat then got everyone their attention.

"It's official, Bobby BearHug has defeated DogDay and will advance in the Semi-Finals to duel CatNap!" She said,

Everyone cheered for Bobby as DogDay then hugged her.

"Let's head back to our friends" DogDay said, "It's been a long duel for me."

"I can tell." Bobby said as she and DogDay heads back,

PickyPiggy was almost a little teary-eyed as she giggled a bit.

"What a conclusion…" She said, "And what a bond these two somehow have…"

KickinChicken meanwhile has watched the duel in his locker room and smiled.

"So DogDay is out of my favor." He said as he chuckled, "Good. Now it will be either CatNap or Bobby to face… But I gotta worry about who I'll face in the Semi-Finals if I win. So until then, it's gonna be me and Holden…"
