Chapter 15: The Colosseum

After this chapter, the members of the quest will leave camp Jupiter, Also so that Annabeth is not alone I may give her someone most likely Leo but if you have another idea for her let me know.
Jason's POV
I was standing in the Colloseum in the breastplate of my armor and helmet holding my Gladius in my hand. The stands were packed and it was loud. I looked across from me and saw the person I was battling Percy Jackson, behind him the Hunters of Artemis were sitting seemingly the only calm people there. As I focused on Percy I saw that he only had on his breastplate like me but no helmet. I remembered what Annabeth had told me about his fighting style, and how he talked to distract and enrage his opponents i wouldn't let that happen to me though. The only reason Annabeth was trying to help me beat Percy is that she wanted him to come back to camp with her and she knew it wouldn't happen if he became Praetor. I looked at him and noticed something odd he was talking to his pen before he uncapped it and showed a celestial bronze gladius which he continued to talk to. As he talked to it he looked up at the sky and then all of the sudden it turned dark and I could see the stars. Once I composed myself I looked at Percy who was talking not just to his pen but to the sky now, more accurately a constellation known as the Huntress, I remembered Annabeth telling us about Percy's adventures and how one of them had been with a girl named Zoe I couldn't remember many details about the quest or who she was other that she died and Artemis put her soul in the sky. So I said probably the stupidest thing I could have said to make him mad and get him off his game."Hey Percy is that your old girlfriend i heard that she died on a quest with you" I watched Percy's face as the smile left and a scowl replaced it and then one of the hunters behind Percy stood up and took out her bow and aimed it at me. Without turning his back Percy said "Phoebe don't. You can castrate him later for what he said but not YET" Then there was a large flash around Percy.
Percy's POV
I stood in the colosseum across from Jason in my armor I took Tide out and started talking to it. This helped me calm my nerves and comfort me because it felt like I was talking to Zoe and sometimes I could hear her talk back. I uncapped my pen and out came two feet of deadly celestial bronze and I said "Wish me luck Zoe this decides it all. Fighting a son of Zeus i bet you would have loved to get the chance to do this, but hopefully, he is not as bad as Heracles. That's when the sky turned to night and Percy's eyes immediately searched for and found his favorite constellation, the Huntress. Seeing Zoe's constellation made him smile and calm him. That's when Jason decided to speak up saying "Hey Percy is that your old girlfriend I heard that she died on a quest with you" My smile left my face immediately and turned to a scowl. He would pay for what he just said I thought maybe I would give him the Hunter of Artemis special castration that's when I heard movement behind me and the sound of an arrow being loaded into a bow I knew I had to stop this so I said: "Phoebe don't. You can castrate him later for what he said but not YET". As soon as Phoebe sat down there was blinding light that surrounded me and i heard a voice say "wipe the floor with him Percy, ive given you a gift to help you with this, also if you focus on it how the hunters do my bow and quiver will be on your back you now have my skill with a bow, make me even prouder to call you my friend" the voice i knew to be Zoe said before the light dissipated and i felt hunting knives on my back which i realized were Zoe's old ones. In my hand, Tide had changed back into Riptide which was odd but I didn't mind for this battle. Looking at Jason's face made me want to die laughing but I kept my composure. I capped riptide and focused for a second before in my hands was a silver bow.
Reyna came into the middle of the Arena as she was the acting referee for this battle where I heard her announce "This is a battle between Perseus Jackson son of Neptune(I internally cringed hearing my full name) and Jason Grace son of Jupiter to see who will be our second Praetor. All powers are allowed except" she said looking at me. I looked back saying "wasn't planning to use it anyways." she nodded and continued "The fight ends once one contender is either unconscious, unable to fight, or yields" We both nodded. "Since Jason has the sky to fly in Percy has a reservoir" she gestured to it in the middle of the arena. "You will start on my signal," she said.
START
I immediately started firing arrows at the son of Jupiter with more speed and precision than I had ever had before he was using the winds as a shield which was just what I wanted him to tire himself out. I wasn't going to a word. I had no doubt Annabeth told him how I fought, I wouldn't do what he expected. Once I ran out of Arrows I drew Zoe's hunting knives and realized I had her skills in knife fighting as well as using a bow i smiled as I rushed Jason. I raised my arm and a wave formed above me blocking the lightning bolt he had launched at me i threw the water at him which knocked him back and I rushed him he used the winds to move backward and regain his footing but it didn't deter me, I had the knives in an icepick grip slashing and fainting at him before a finally got the opening I wanted with one quick slash Jason was castrated. He screamed in pain and then I heard Phoebe yell "I wanted to do that" I simply shugged at her in response. Jason stood up and glared at me saying "What was that for" I glared at him and said, "That was for you insulting my friend, and if I hadn't done that then Phoebe would have in a much more painful way." I put Zoe's knives away as they performed the task she wanted and drew Riptide. "You know Jason it's funny every weapon I have has been or is Zoe's, the girl you offended," I said. I stabbed Riptide into the ground making the whole Arena shake (the stands were protected by some of the Olympian's magic) before the earthquake could make him fall Jason used the air to rise into the sky. The weather responded to my annoyance and anger that the son of Jupiter had caused him and it started to storm big drops of water falling from the sky, each drop that hit me replenished and strengthened me. Then I felt myself rise off the ground on my very own hurricane which after becoming the son of Neptune became easier to make and hold. I floated up to Jason and started fighting him. I was able to get under his guard and I slammed the hilt of my sword into his head effectively knocking him out. Before he could fall to the ground I caught him and lowered myself and him over my shoulders into the water. Once we landed Reyna announced the winner saying "The winner is Perseus Jackson son of Neptune. The hunters cheered the loudest mainly because of me castrating him. I paled a bit wondering how Thaila would react to me catrating her brother. One of the healers came and carried Jason to the infirmary I looked at Reyna and she was beaming which made me happy that I had another reason to be here more importantly be with her.
Hope this was a good chapter if you have any ideas or anything please tell me the only part of the quest that I am definitely including is when they meet Hercules but it may differ a bit from the book. Also, I know Percy using a bow and getting Zoe's skills and stuff is a bit dumb but I wanted to add and include it in this story. The fight may have seemed very one sided so sorry for that but just imagine it lasted a lot longer than it seemed
