Ch 115 The Legend Revived
Just outside of the Chamber within the Cavern, the Team Aqua and Magma Grunts halted their Battle with each other. The reason was the entire Cavern was shaking and the rocks were falling from above them.
"W-What's going on?" One of the Team Aqua Grunts asked, taking out his Pokeball to call back his Partner.
"The ceiling is falling!" One of the Team Magma Grunts commented, pointing her Pokeball at her Partner, and calling him back.
Shelly looks up, seeing the rocks falling upon them. She then saw her Opponent, Courtney standing in place, almost like she was frozen.
Taking no chances, Shelly proceeded to address her Teammates. "All Grunts, retreat to the Submarine! We have to prepare for emergency departure before Archie comes back!" Everyone in Team Aqua agrees with the Admin, all calling back their Partners.
"Tentacruel, you did good out there. Come back now." Shelly calls back her Pokemon before looking at N and Paulo, "N, we need to leave now!"
N looks down at the Team Aqua Admin, hearing what she's saying to the others. "No, we're not leaving with Helena and the others!" The former King of Team Plasma said, leaping from the boulder to the ground.
Paulo and Zoroark saw the green-haired being irrational. "Zoroark, get N here quickly!" The dirty blonde-haired trainer spoke to the Dark-type trainer,
Zoroark nodded, leaping over to where his Friend heading over to the next Chamber. The Illusion Pokemon landed in front of his Friend, taking him into his arms.
"W-What!? Zoroark what are you doing?" The former King of Team Plasma asked his Partner, being dragged away from the Chamber his Sister and the others entered.
Zoroark quickly met up with Paulo and his Servine who Evolved during the Battle between them and his former Allies. The dirty-blonde-haired Trainer and his newly Evolved Partner. "Mr. Potter, we have to leave now if you were to go after the Professor and the others then it'll cause some problems," Paulo said, putting reason within the protective Older Brother's Head.
"Besides, Steven and Brenden are with her," Paulo said, having faith that if those two were together things would be alright. "They'll be at the Submarine soon."
Zoroark felt N's struggle lessen, he slowly lets go of his Partner,
N was placed down on the ground by his Partner after much convincing from his Sister's Student. He looks back at the entrance, hoping to see either Helena or Steven appear,
Instead, Archie came out with a bunch of Grunts from both Teams hurrying back to the Subs. "All hands, return to the Submarines! Prepare for departure immediately!"
N's eyes widen, heading over to the Leader of Team Aqua. "Archie, where are they!?" He demanded of the dark-haired Man.
"I don't know, we were separated when they stopped my Battle with Maxwell," Archie explains what happened within the Chamber. "I was checking up on Sharpedo when Maxwell tosses and wakes up Groudon from his sleep."
N gritted his teeth, gripping his fist tightly at what he was hearing. "Damnit, I'm going after-"
Archie placed his hand on the former King's shoulders, understanding how he was feeling. "Kid, don't do anything reckless," The dark-haired Man said, "With that Boy and Maxwell with them, I'm sure they can make it out fine. Now let's get ready to set off before they get here."
N was still hesitant to leave but with everyone saying they were going to be alright. He then remembered that Gardevoir was with them as well, someone he trusted to protect his Sister. "Alright…l-let's go." He said as they went to the Submarine.
Helena's eyes were closed, she held Brenden under her. Her Motherly instincts and being a Teacher immediately took the young trainer near her and protected him.
Sceptile, Metagross, and Gardevoir gathered around the three, even Maxie and Tabitha in a protective circle.
"W-What happened?" Brenden asked, looking up to see the Pokemon protecting them.
"The Pokemon protected us from the falling Rocks," Tabitha said, seeing his Weezing was a part of the defenses. He smiled, appreciating his Partner's protectiveness over him, "Weezing, thank you for protecting us."
"I-Is everyone alright?" Steven asked, still holding Helena tightly.
Helena turns to face her Fiancé, hearing his voice. "Yeah, I thi…nk…so…" She looks up, seeing something looming over the Hoenn Champion. "Steven…"
Steven looks down at Helena, chuckling knowing she sees the Pokemon he called for help. "I was going to tell you when we rescue you, but I guess it didn't pan out like I wanted to." The Steel-blue haired Champion said,
Looming over them was a round Robot-like Pokemon, with Metallic armor, two long arms with three digits, and Seven red eyes at the center of the shell. -ZZZ- Registeel…-ZZZ-
"A-A Registeel!?" Everyone exclaims, seeing the Legendary Pokemon looming over Gardevoir, Sceptile, and Weezing.
Steven chuckles as Helena moves away and looks at her Husband-to-be. Helena stares at the Champion of Hoenn, raising a brow at him. "Since when did you get yourself a Registeel!? A Legendary Pokemon no less!?" Helena asked, she knew two People who had Legendary Pokemon on them. Her Brother and Hilda,
"Meta," Metagross attempted to calm Helena down,
Steven smiled before feeling a bit weakened. He hid his sudden lightheadedness from Helena, knowing she'd be worried.
Suddenly the Chamber began to rumble more, Brenden peers through the protective barrier, trying to see what was going on beyond where they are.
The brown-haired trainer saw the Legendary Pokemon begin to move from where he stood. "Groudon's on the move!" Brenden informed everyone,
They all looked once the Pokemon began to unfurl from their defensive huddle around the Humans.
Groudon began to turn around, walking forward to the deeper part of the Lake he was resting in. "Wait a moment, where is he going? He should've stayed and waited for my commands." Maxie asked, standing up despite the rocks still falling.
"Leader Maxie, we did a scan of the Sea Floor Cavern earlier. There's an underwater Lake that leads into the open Ocean." Tabitha informed the Leader of Team Magma. "Groudon is heading to the surface." He said, explaining where the Legendary Pokemon was heading.
"When Groudon reaches the surface, the Temperature will rise than normal," Helena said, having done the Research and the Simulation of this very moment.
Brenden was ready to stop Groudon right here and now, "The n we need to stop Groudon here and now!" He said, his eyes looked at his Pokemon Partner. "Sceptile, let's go and stop Groudon!"
"Sceptile!" The Forest Pokemon was about to join his trainer, however they were stopped by the Champion.
"Brenden, Sceptile, wait." Steven looks at his Protégée, not wanting them to act just yet. "We're heading back now to the Submarine." The Hoenn Champion said, telling everyone of the plan.
The brown-haired trainer looks at his Mentor, wondering what he's thinking, "Steven? Are you sure that's a good plan? Groudon is just ahead of us." Brenden turns and faces the Champion.
"I know that there's an opportunity here to stop Groudon. However, if we stop him here, then we'll be trapped than doing anything to halt Groudon's advancement." Steven said, seeing things the outcome if they tried to stop Groudon here and now.
Maxie agrees with the Hoenn Champion, "I agree with Mr. Stone, we're a few miles down from the Surface." The red-haired Man explains to the group. "if we were to do a Pokemon Battle here and things go array, it'll create more problems." He said,
"Leader Maxie…" Tabitha looks at the Leader of Team Magma, seemingly changing his mind to ensure a prosperous Future for People and Pokemon alike. However, as things were looking for him and the actions he took to achieve that Dream, it might've been too late to even make up for his actions.
However, the mistakes that Maxie made thus far to create this situation won't stop him from doing so. Even when the outcome will definitely end him in Prison, Maxie is still willing to fix the mess he made.
"For now, we have to escape from the Sea Floor Cavern. Once we know we're safe, we can devise a plan to stop Groudon." Maxie said, informing the current plan to the group. His eyes looked at Helena, knowing she may have some things to say. "Does that sound good to you, Professor?"
Helena remains silent for a moment, so many times she tries to tell Maxie about the danger of waking Groudon. So many times she did her best to convince Maxie and the others to give up this foolish Dream only to be rejected,
Gardevoir could feel the frustration her Partner was emitting. She could tell she gave it her all to prevent this situation. She reaches out her hand to Helena, gently placing it on her shoulders. "Gardevoir…" She gave a warm expression to calm her down.
"Ellie," Steven spoke her Name, knowing the face she was making.
The black-haired Professor smiled at her Partner and Fiancé before returning her attention back to Maxie.
"You know what, Maxwell? For the longest time, I've tried to convince you and your Followers about the dangers, but you never paid any mind to what I say." Helena said, venting out her frustrations. She marched up to Maxie, taking the little time to scold the red-haired Man. "You have sent Maya, a Girl to spy on my Lab which has caused many problems for me and my Siblings. Have your Grunts break into my Home, threaten the Lives of my Sons and Friends, and also you straight up Kidnapped me to help you create this Situation! And worst of all, you made your Son feel alone and force him to do things he doesn't want to!" She scolded the Leader of Team Magma Leader,
Everyone was taken aback by Helena's boldness, even Gardevoir who was closest to her. Never before has Helena spoken like that before, only whenever someone has truly peeved her.
Maxie nor Tabitha said anything, they knew that Helena had the right to be angry with them. However there was one thing that made Maxie ashamed, it was his own Son, Paulo.
Helena's words had made the red-haired Man think about how Paulo must have been feeling for a while. Thinking back, Maxie has been unfair to his Son, asking him to do things for him. Never he has done anything for him other than permitting him to attend the Pokemon Trainer School.
Maxie looks down at the ground, 'Thinking back now, I don't think I ever paid any attention to Paulo…maybe, I should talk to him when this is over…' He thought, realizing that he made a lot of mistakes not only now but a lot in the Past.
Steven, however, found this side of his Fiancée to be attractive. However, now it wasn't the time to admire Helena's boldness, "A-Ahem, Helena, I think you made your point." The Hoenn Champion said to the black-haired Professor.
"R-Right, sorry I just needed to release everything I have against Maxwell off my chest," Helena said, apologizing to the group. She then shook her Head before focusing on their situation. "Anyways, Gardevoir, I need to ask you a big favor from you." She asked her Partner,
Gardevoir looked at her Partner, wondering what she was planning. As such, she nodded, trusting Helena no matter what. "Gardevoir," The Fairy/Psychic-type obliges to her Partner's request,
Helena smiled, seeing that her Partner was ready to do what she wanted her to do. She looks at Gardevoir with seriousness written on her face before telling her orders. "Gardevoir, use Teleport to where N is. I know it's a big ask to Teleport everyone here, but-"
Gardevoir didn't need an explanation, she honed her Energy within her center causing everyone, including Registeel.
The group immediately Teleported out of the Chamber to where N was at.
Back in the other Chamber, N Paulo, and Shelly were ensuring that nobody, People or Pokemon gets left behind. "Quickly, get onto the Submarine!" Shelly exclaims, calling everyone to quickly board the Subs.
Courtney however, was unresponsive. Her eyes were glued to the entrance to the other Chamber, awaiting Maxie and Tabitha's arrival.
"Come on! Make sure nobody gets left behind!" Paulo said, his eyes shifting to his Father's trusted Admin standing in one place. He turns to N, who is guiding everyone onto the Subs.
N saw his Sister's Student, looking at him. His eyes then caught the violet-haired Ability User standing in the open. "Go for it, I'll handle this, Paulo." He said, understanding the situation.
Paulo looks down at his Partner, needing him to do something. "Servine, I need you to stay here and use Vine Whip to drag me and Courtney back here if anything happens that could harm us." The dirty blonde-haired trainer explains what Servine has to do.
The Grass Snake Pokemon nodded, obliging to his Partner's request. "Servine,"
Paulo quickly rushed over to where the Team Magma Admin was standing.
Ninetails tried to usher her Partner to come with her, however Courtney wasn't responsive. She cried out loudly, only to sense someone heading towards them.
Courtney flinched when she felt someone grabbed her hand. She turns around and sees the Son of the Man she looks up to, "Paulo, what are you-"
"Don't just stand there, Courtney!" Paulo yelled at his Father's Admin, she looked surprised by the sudden appearance of the young trainer.
"Paulo, what are you doing?" The Ability User asked the Pokemon trainer before her. "Leader Maxie and Tabitha are still-"
"Courtney, you won't do any favors if you stay here where you're risking your Life waiting for Father!" Paulo exclaims, stopping Courtney from continuing. "Father wouldn't want you to die just for him! So stop following his words blindly and make your own decisions!"
Paulo scolded the Ability User, not wanting anyone to Die here. "Now let's get going back to the Submarines!" He said, dragging Courtney with him as Ninetails followed closely, heading to the Subs,
N saw Paulo taking Courtney back to Team Magma's Submarine. Even though Paulo has taken the last member of Team Magma back from the Cavern, he still holds his breath for his Sister and the others' arrival.
The green-haired Ability User was about to head inside Team Aqua's Submarine when a sudden light engulfed him. "W-What is this!?"' N closes his eyes from the bright light.
Zoroark turns around, seeing the light surrounding his Partner. The Dark-type Pokemon quickly headed to help him, however, the light soon disbursed revealing to be Helena and the others appearing around him.
N peered open his eyes, feeling the light fading. He then saw Helena, Steven, Brenden, Gardevoir, Tabitha, and Maxie along with their Pokemon.
Gardevoir tumbles a bit after Teleporting so many People at the same time.
Helena quickly held her Partner, preventing her from falling. "Are you alright Gardevoir? I know that was a bit much than just Teleporting me." She said to the Duel-type Pokemon.
Gardevoir smiled, not minding helping out her Partner. She placed her hand over Helena's hand, indicating she was all right. "Gardevoir."
Helena nodded before being bombarded by a giant hug from her Brother. "N!" She exclaims, happy to see the green-haired Man after what seems to be forever. "I'm so glad to see you."
N moves back, looking at everyone around them. "Everyone is inside the Submarines," The Cavern began to shake, and more rocks fell from the ceiling.
Brenden turns to his Partner, pointing his Pokeball towards him. "Everyone, call back your Pokemon into their Pokeball. They'll be safe and easier for us to get to the Subs."
"Good thinking, Brenden," Steven said, turning to his Fiancée, taking something from his belt. "Helena, I was holding onto Gardevoir's Pokeball to help with the search. It's only right to return this to you," The Hoenn Champion said, handing her Gardevoir's Pokeball to him.
Helena nodded, taking back her Partner's Pokeball from her Fiancé. With everyone calling back their Pokemon, they proceeded to board the Submarines.
Once everyone was inside, both Subs departed from the Sea Floor Cavern. The two Submarines immediately transverse the underwater Cavern while rocks fall from the ceiling and magma bursts from the ground.
With quick maneuvers from the Pilots, Team Aqua and Magma manage to escape from the Cavern. They burst out from the opening, dodging the magma spewing from the ground,
Everyone huffs, escaping by the skin of their teeth. One of the Pilots sighs, turning to their Leader, "Leader Maxie, both Team Aqua's Submarine and ours have escaped without any damage." The Grunt informed the red-haired Man.
Maxie nodded, hearing the information from his Subordinate. "Thank you for telling me," He said, "Keep this cursing speed until we reach the surface and open communications" He added, turning his attention to the People behind him.
Helena and the others glared at Maxie, still skeptical about the cooperation with Team Magma's Leader. "I know that many of you distrust me after I awaken Groudon and caused a lot of damage. However, right now it's best to figure out a solution to deal with Groudon."
"I hate to say it, but I have to agree with Maxwell," Steven said, not liking the sound of it. He looks at everyone, "With everything that's happening, we need all the help we can get to stop Groudon."
"But how? Groudon is a Legendary Pokemon, our Pokemon aren't strong or large enough to beat him," Brenden said, making some valid points.
-ZZZ- The Kid's right, with many years hibernating, Groudon is bound to been storing a lot of Energy over the years sleeping. -ZZZ- Archie spoke from his Submarine, agreeing with the Son of a Gym Leader. -ZZZ- Sure, if we work together then our Pokemon can stand a chance. But what we need is something equal or similar in level when we confront Groudon. Sure, the Champion here has a Registeel but that's small compared to him. -ZZZ-
Everyone ponders on the idea that Archie suggested, however, Helena turns to N. She knew he had a Pokemon that could be a good match against the Legendary Pokemon. "N, I think you know as me that you have to-"
"I know, Sister." The former King of Team Plasma steps forward, having the Pokemon for the job. He cleared his throat, gaining everyone's attention. "I believe I have the solution with Battling Groudon," N said to the entire haul of the Sub.
Brenden and the others looked at the green-haired, wondering what N had in mind. "What is it, Mr. Potter?" The young Pokemon trainer asked the Ability User.
N smiled softly, not wanting to reveal their trump card when the Battle hardly started. "It's best to reveal my Friend when the moment is right." The young trainer said, explaining to the group before looking at Steven. "Steven, I'll be counting on you for your assistance. Considering who you have, we need all the help we can get."
Steven didn't hesitate to answer, "As Hoenn Champion, it's my duty to protect the Region and the People and Pokemon living here." The Steel-blue haired Champion said, ready to do whatever it took to protect the People he loved.
The Submarines soon breached the surface of the Ocean, the Wingulls and Pelippers flew away from the Underwater Vehicles surfaced.
Upon reaching the Surface, the Temperature was already heating up. The surface of the Ocean water was boiling, causing many of the Water-type Pokemon to retreat further down.
"Sir, the Temperature outside is higher than the last time we were here," Brodie informed Maxie and the others,
"So it has begun," Helena said, reading about it from the texts she'd researched. "When Groudon is in his Primal Form, the Earth, the sheer power he has can affect the Weather and the Temperature will only get hotter. Kyogre's Primal Form will increase the Sea and cause an endless storm that'll last for who knows how long."
Maxie placed his hand on his chin. "If the Primal Forms of the two Legendary Pokemon cause a major Environmental change, then the solution is to get rid of their power." The red-haired Man said,
"The Red Orb, but locating it is a bit impossible," Brenden said, looking at everyone. "With how big Groudon is, looking for something that small in his Body is tricky," The young trainer said, making a good point.
"The Red and Blue Orbs emit a unique energy that we could detect. However," Tabitha looks over to the console, checking the Temperature outside and comparing it to Groudon's Body Heat. "However, we can't go near the Legendary Pokemon without melting our Haul first."
"The Devon Corporation and Helena's Lab have something that could help us find it." Steven suggested, "We can use the Technology to help us find it." He said, looking at Helena who agreed with the idea.
"Then we have our destination, set course to Rustboro City!" Maxie and Archie commanded their Followers, starting off their Mission.
Below the Waters of Hoenn, the rumbling of Groudon has caused the Sea Floor to shake. Enough to awaken one more sleeping underneath the Ocean,
