Chapter 5
I loved you. And just because we broke up.
Doesn't mean i can just turn it off.
Brooke got off the bed. Unlocked then opened the door slowly.
Her heart jumping to her throat.
"Lucas." She said softly.
"Rachel told me you left Julian and she told me where i could find you. Don't be upset with her."
"I was desperate to talk to you. We haven't seen or spoken to each other since we got back."
"Can we talk and clear the air?" Lucas asked.
Brooke sighed deeply. "Yeah. I've been wanting to reach out."
"I just didn't know where to start." She admitted.
As Lucas made his way through her doorway.

"What were you so desperate to discuss?" Brooke asked. Once her hotel room door was shut.
"We're getting divorced. Peyton left me."
"I think that's the best choice for us both."
"I want to know what's going on." Lucas replied.
"I'm pregnant." Brooke announced.
Lucas stared back at her stunned.
He reached out to her hesitating.
"I'm in a state of stress and confusion."
"Pregnancy symptoms. I'm a mess." Brooke admitted.
"You and Julian." Lucas said.
"I don't know. It could be his or yours." Brooke replied.
She hadn't expected to see Lucas's expression soften and his eyes lit up.
"Would you want the baby to be yours?" Brooke asked.
"I don't know if i'm cut out to be a father. I am Dan's son afterall." Lucas admitted.
"I'm Ted and Victoria's daughter. I know very well about family ties. Chaos and turmoil."
"Am I ready to be a mom? I don't know."
"I thought i would be married and in love."
"Instead i'm alone. And scared out of my mind." Brooke proclaimed. With emotion in her voice.
"You have you're friends. You have me." Lucas replied.
Their eyes locked on each other.

Days Later
Brooke stared at the ultrasound screen at her OBGYN office.
"The pregnant test was right. You are 8 weeks along." The woman announced.
Brooke stared at wide eyed back at her doctor.
She had been pregnant all this time.
The baby wasn't Julian's she had no doubt after hearing this.
"The heartbeat can be heard. If you want?" She questioned.
"Ladies choice." Lucas said.
"Yeah let's hear it." Brooke said.
Minutes later. A loud sound filled the exam room.
Brooke felt her heart burst open. Tears wellling up in her eyes.
"The heartbeats are strong." The doctor said.
"Good so me and the kid are doing great." Brooke replied.
"I meant. The babies heartbeats are doing well."
"Exactly what we want to see and hear at this stage." The doctor replied.
Lucas gripped the wall. Staring at the ultrasound screen.
"I'm having twins." Brooke said.
"You are. Here are ultrasound pictures."
"A presciption for vitamins you need to take throughout these months for the babies."
"I'll see you in a few months." She said with a smile.
