In the last chapter we met the two new heros and some new villains on the scene. But someone will have to try and figure out a way to save the town of dripping springs from the bomb threat plaguing the belongs to greg wiseman and Brandon Vietti.
Chapter 16:Another Girl?
September 23rd texas dripping springs 11:30 am
It was a quiet evening in dripping springs right now as the people of the fine town of both modern and western returned to their homes. As right now waiting on the streets was jack who was waiting for his little gift right now. But as he did next to him was a truck filled to the brim with explosives as bane stepped forward
"So i'm expecting more of my payment soon. I didn't know we'd be dealing with those kids"bane said
"You'll get your payment just be patient their boy"jack replied as bane hated that he called him that right now
"Call me that again old man and i will throw you through a wall"bane warned as jack scoffed staring him down before turning around jabbing him in the chest
"Listen here muscle for brains i've been waiting years for this. I've lived a long time since i tricked jonah into letting me use that spring. Its worked wonders for me and i even married to his late great….great…great…grandaughter terrible thing she died of cancer"jack replied before placing a hand on his hip revealing a pair of single action navy revolvers on his hips
"Now were gonna play nice with my girl hoping she pulls through in the end"jack added as the muscle wrestler scoffed
They waited for a bit before long it was reaching close to high noon as near a nearby house was the team. With greg carrying a lever action rifle in hand in his usally attire as jinny was holding a pair of revolvers right now in hand
"So our plan is to ask for a duel?"artemis asked if that was the best thing they could come up with
"Well its better than nothing in my opinion. Besides….they got a bomb which makes things hard"Wally backed up
"Now shush you kids man you argue like an old married couple. You two a thing or something"Greg said making the two look at him strange with artemis shivering at the thought as wally put his hands up waving them quickly
"Whoa…whoa! Me and her no way she always is bossy and has a stick up her uhh…."he paused eyeing artemis who pointed a tip of her arrow at him
"Finish it wally"artemis threatened as he guped neoruvlsy with deliah separating the two for now
"Alright you two pack it up yeesh"deliah replied as soon enough kaldur nodded to jinny who sighed. The cowgirl then walked out into the streets as jack noticed her smiling to see his kin before him as he laughed clapping his hands
"Now theirs my darling little spitfire….you brought what i asked for"he asked as jinny stared him down presenting the godeye as he smiled seeing that
"Good now give it here and we can bond over some father and daughter passion"jack said but she smiled at him for a moment
"Nuh uh we aint doing that because i know how you work. I request a little duel….now!"jinny shotued as it echoed in the town streets for a moment. With jack staring at her for a moment thinking of her offer as he laughed for a moment walking forward as the spurs on his shoes clicked and clacked as he smirked at her
"Well i am faster than that old cogger who was your ancestor. Lets do a good old fashion showdown"jack said with a grin as she smiled happy their plan is working
Motioing for bane to step aside the brute did for now as he did jack stepped forward. With jinny taking a stance against him as the two of them faced each other down for the time being. Their was a long pause as qucikyl artemis climbed to a nearby building converted into a saloon from the effects of the godeye
Then their was robin and kaldur sneaking around to the side as bane noticed superboy and greg stepping into the streets. But he also noticed the new girl here as he smirked seeing some of them here guessing this was a trick as he kept the deadman switch in his hands close.
As their was a long pause between them a tumbleweed rolled by as nothing happened at first. Jinny narrowed her gaze toward the man who was her father as a sweat bead dropped slowly off her face. The two gusnlingers stared each down as the clock slowly ticked its way down to noon as it did a loud bell signals it
Immediately jack drew his revolver at the ready but jinny was much quciker. Quickly she pulled out her revolvers firing off two more shots hitting his hand making jack grunt in pain. With her then whsilting to someone signaling their plan
Because in a shift motion zooming in someone body tackled bane making him stumble. The brute growled looking up as he felt something was gone. Looking down he saw the switch gone as the blur reappeared with wally tossing the switch to the ground with him sporting a cowboy hat on his head
"Well i reckon this bomb here is defused"he said in a terrible southern accent as bane whistles to his men. Immediately they began to open fire on the heroes as they all broke from cover to attack them for the town safety
Immedialty artemis notched some arrows back firing them down onto the thugs. With her pinning a couple to a wall. As she notched one back as they approached a inuuried greg firing off shots from his lever action rifle filled with rubber bullets nailing a thug who cried in pain as they still hurt.
Taking a breath the blonde quickly fired a arrow that went zooming through the air. As it did the arrow shined in the sunlight as it impacted the ground. The resulting impact then sent some of the thugs flying as one landed in a water barrel spalshing water everywhere as they groaned in pain right now
With superboy he screamed as he leopard forward bringing his fist down narrowly hitting bane. But the brute smiled quickly activating his venom as he growled before growing in size right now as his veins popped with him standing up taller than the clone of the man of steel
"Time to take your medicine chico(boy)"bane said before bringing down both fist onto him. Superboy raised his arms blocking it but the resulting hit made him sink into the ground slightly cracking it as he growled right now before roaring in rage punching back.
The resulting hit made bane be moved back a little right now as his head whipped back. But the brute growled before bringing his fist up smashing him down onto the ground. Conner grunted right now as close by was deliah who swiftly knocked down a thug to the ground with a swift kick to the jaw as she gotten better at fighting now.
Rushing over she recalled what robin warned her about the muscle brute and from what she recalled back home. That he relies on that injector as it was attached to the base of his skull. Eyeing it she raised her hand charging a blast up but bane noticed that smiling as he ran over charging at the poor trainee
This made her freeze right now as she focused the blast but as she did she thought about that night in gotham. With a flash slightly going off as she saw her friend richie for a moment making her slowly decharge her blast. But immediately this costed her with bane gut checking the poor hero as she gasped falling to her knees in pain right now coughing and hacking for air struggling to
Bane laughed"your a new one. Whats your name little one"bane questioned as she growled for a moment catching her breath
"Wriath….and eat this!"She shouted throwing a punch into his chest expecting to launch him. But nothing happened as he laughed easily backhanding her back into a wall hard as she groaned a little from that hit
Elsewhere on a nearby rooftop robin eyed some waterbarrels close to a few thugs who where moving in on vigilante. As greg quickly lifted up the rifle before swiflty firing off a few shots into the thugs easily taking down two of the five as they fired at him which sent him back into cover. Studying their current problem he smiled
"Hey kaldur time for some shock and awe"robin said pulling some birdirangs out as kaldur eyed the barrels nodding
Quickly channeling into his magic his tattoos glowed bright as he focused on the water. From the water two water sperants came out before he directed them into the thugs soaking them from head to toe to some confusion
"What the hell is this?!"the thug questioned as kaldur raised his water bearers as he leaped into the air onto the ground
Leaping down onto the ground he charged up a eletricte blast conducting it through the water. It traveled through the water as it made contact with the remaining thugs. They screamed in pain culvusing from the electricity in their veins as they all fell to the ground groaning right now in pain with smoke coming off them as robin smiled throwing a few birdirangs pinning them to the ground
"Their thats five bad guys down. Now how is our new little member doing"robin said as they eyed the current fight
As right now jack was firing off several shots at jinny right now with his daughter diving for cover. Swiftly she emptied the chambers reloading her pistols as she quickly raised them back poinitng the barrels at him. Swiftly she fired of a few shots nailing him in the shoulder as he grunted fighting through the pain as he spat to the side
Then using his powers he took aim with his revolver before firing off a shot from it. The shot zoomed forward as it zipped around like it was being controlled. As the shot immedialty hit the poor cowgirl in the leg as she grunted for a moment
"Son of a bi–"She was stopped as jack leaped forward cracking his revolver across her jaw knocking her to the ground as he waved his finger
"Ah ah ah no swearing i taught you better than that."jack warned as he smirked lifting his hand up grabbing her by the throat as jinny grutned in pain still from the shot
"You know i gifted you so many things my dear. I worked for that old bastard ancestor of yours and now i'll get the godeye to rule the world like i planned to back then before he stopped me. But this time i'll steal your soul and make you my puppet!"he shouted
This scared her right now but not having that was a certain speedster. As zipping in with a shoulder check to the face was wally. This sent the gunslinger soaring into the side of a building hard creating a dust cloud.
Jinny coughed as wally quickly helped her up dusting her off as falling down from the sky was jack hat as he zipped over snatching it placing it on his head
"Sweet! New soruvenior!"he shouted as he looked over at jack who emerged from the smoke. But it revealed something strange as in the middle of jack forehead was a glowing purple eye that blinked with him growling as it creeped the speedster out right now
"Gah! What the heck is up with his forehead!"he questioned loudly
"Side effect of the god eye….and well hes always had a third eye from what my ma told me….so yeah creepy dad"jinny said as thinking quickly wally spotted m'gann throwing some thugs into the ground as he smirked for a moment
"Heyya miss M! Toss our buddy here some iron!"he shouted before pointing at a nearby pair of ironbars which she noticed smiling. Lifting her hands up she used her powers to tear them out as jack still picked himself up. But immediately she tossed it into him pinning the man to the wall as he grunted in rage right now staring them down as jinny scoffed into a laugh
"Guess i win….ughhh suck it"she said flipping him off
Meanwhile with conner and deliah the two where facing off against bane who proved to be a little too much to handle. As conner threw a punch into the thug knocking the wind out of him. But bane gripped his arms around him tight laughing as he brought him up ready to smash him into the ground
"I almost broke the bat before! I will break you for what you did to me in santa prisca!"bane shouted but getting involved was someone else
As greg aimed his lasso twirling it around before he threw it forward toward the villain. The rope wrapped around the tube and with a mighty tug he tore it out of his skull. This made bane roar in pain as he dropped conner with the venom slipping from his veins as he began to shrink in size a little
Greg laughed tipping his hat"well how about that i took your little pep from your step"Greg said with a laugh
The brute growled in rage seeing the two heroes picking themselves up to fight him. But he had an idea to slow them down as he charged toward greg who noticed this. Qucikly the lawman brought the rifle up but with his strength bane tore the rifle away grabbing him by his leg holding him upside down in the air laughing
"This will slow you all down"he said before squeezing hard on his ankle before a loud snapping noise was heard. Greg hollered out in pain getting jinny attention as her eyes went wide in shock as bane dropped her mentor on the ground
"Noooo!"she shouted out as bane laughed running into a truck banging the side as it sped away from them. They where about to pursue but rushed to greg side as he clutched his leg with his left ankle looking awkward as bone was sticking out
"Call an ambulance we need help"artemis said as they hoped to have a successful mission without anyone getting hurt
It was about an hour later as they used the godeye to return the town to normal. As the artifact was busy being loaded onto a jet right now with green arrow and revanant their. While greg was on a stretcher with his foot banadgaed up right now as jinny was by his side
"Darling i'll be fine kiddio aint the worst tussle i've been in"greg reassured
"But that punk snapped your leg hes gonna get what he deserves"jinny growled as green arrow stopped this.
"Revenge aint the right way kid believe me it turns terrible for some people. But uh how you doing greg"green arrow asked as the lawman sighed
"My ankle is busted and hurts like hell but heck morphine is a heck of a thing. Though i gotta thank you for sending your little partners to help me. "Greg said tipping his hat to the team who appreciated that actually
"We just did our job. But what will you do with the artifact"kaldur asked
"We will store it somewhere safe in the watchtower but….look greg i'm sorry for what happened buddy. Though i was wondering did you hear about my new partner?"revanant asked as the lawman scratched his chin for a moment
"Rumors yeah what you gonna let me meet em"greg asked as the man pushed forward deliah who went eep
"She right here kids taller than me but heck she got similar powers like me. And well she joined this team and i was thinking maybe your little student could join them"revanat suggested as jinny scoffed at that right now
"Me? Join a team no chance because i gotta run my ma family business"jinny argued but greg eyed the kids before him seeing some of them close to her age. As the man wanted to fulfill his promise to the girl mother since they used to be biker buddies as the lawman sighed speaking up
"Hex i suggest you go with em"he said to her shock as she stared at him
"But your hurt? I cant just–"he stopped her
"Now you listen here your mama wanted you somewhere safe with your familiar heirlooms. That shop is her pride and joy but she also wanted you safe but also for you to have a normal life. Now you got a immortal papa from when your great ancestor was around. But….these kids are more your style you did start your career as a junior hero like me. "Greg stated
This made the cowgirl think about that statement for a moment for a long moment. With her eyeing the group of teens before her studying them as she layed eyes on a few finding them interesting with her sighing as she stared at him
"Fine i'll go…but i want the family trunk ma always told me to keep it safe"jinny said as kaldur walked over offering her a hand as she shook it sealing her into their team now.
September 23rd mount justice happy harbor 7:08 pm
It was late into the night after a long flight of gathering what jinny wanted from her home which was alot. As they had to bring a whole motorcycle with them along with some spare parts and some family photos she wanted. Their was also some other things that being a big and large trunk which they found confusing
As they where welcoming her into the hall right now as robin was finishing the tour off for the new comer
"This is where we all usually eat and hangout. But most of the time you'll be stuck here with SB, m'gann and nikos. They live here pretty much"robin explained
"Its not so bad but hey another girl on the team. Where up to eight now"m'gann commented
"Huh your right….four boys and four girls….even numbers for some basketball or some games"wally joked as jinny snorted back spitting into a nearby trashcan making artemis figure one thing out she was a tomboy
"Oh god you act like a boy don't you"she asked as jinny gave a very puzzled look
"Hey its how i act alright. Besides….i'm more excited to be on a team with some well known heroes. Weird meeting some rich girl though"She said as she saw deliah without her mask as she stuck her tongue out at her
"Hey i may be rich but i like simply things. Though whats with the trunk"she asked as it was on all their minds
"Yeah thing is pretty light but i remember seeing it glowing. What is this magic or something"wally asked as she smiled with a proud grin on her face
"Nah that stuff in their is stuff my great grandfather jonah collected over the years. That old man has collected so much interesting stuff i can't even believe some of it. But no peeking"She said as she smacked wally hand away from it
"Not trusting with us on your private property i take it"artemis asked
"Nope. because my ma said to always keep it away from others sorry i got a rep to uphold"jinny replied as kaldur sighed beginning to walk away
"Understndable i will need to finish some reports off. Good luck with your new life here"he said leaving them as ghost wandered over before running over barking at the new face with the cowgirl laughing bending down petting the pups fur
"Well aren't you just the darnest little thing. You get to have pets here"she asked as m'gann sighed
"Sort of but well we do have another one. Its superboys"she said as rolling over close by was sphere right now as it beeped at them with her looking at it confused before she poked the metal sphere right now
"The heck is this thing?"jinny asked
"A object supy here rescued from some bad guys. We just keep it around because we still gotta figure out how it works"robin replied as she studied it finding it a little familiar it seems right now
"Hey kinda looks like a piece of tech i saw in the trunk….huh wonder if my old grandfather has notes on this"she mentioned to some surprise as conner walked over surprised
"You know what sphere is?"he asked as she shrugged her shoulder
"Not really but where my hog i wanna make sure its safe"jinny asked
"Downstairs in the garage come on we'll show you"robin said as they walked down to the girls ride. As it was a motorcycle but it had some decals on it right now. With the front of it where the headlight was having a deerskull on it with the jaw attached to it. Along with that their was also large tubes on the back for the engines along with it having a holster strapp on the side of it
This amazed them as wally whsilted examining the fine piece of metal infront of him right now
"This is pretty impressive….you make it yourself"he aksed as she sighed stretching her back out with a loud crack being heard
"Yep. my ma helped me and we used a few sounveiors jonah collected. That skull right their is from the wnedigo that he hunted down back in the day"jinny explained to their surprise that might be real as they would question it but some of them have seen magic before
"Sweet….must be proud of it what happened to your mom"m'gann asked as jinny rubbed her arms for a moment looking down
"She passed from cancer sensitive topic"she said as it got things awkward right now. But superboy got interested in the ride stepping forward examining it as he seemed very immersed in the motorcycle which deliah picked up on.
"You into bikes or something"She asked as conner studied it for a bit nodding
"I kinda like it…i don't know but….everysince i got freed from cademus a few things interested me"he said as the cowgirl smirked walking over
"Well i can show you guys around on it for you all helping me and my mentor out. Because i think we'll get along very well"jinny said as they had another new teammate to their team for the fight against evil as some wodnered how this will develop for them in the future.
Elsewhere right now in another location someone else was busy talking with someone right now. That being bane who was busy talking to someone right now. That being a women who seems to be young with her having short raven colored hair and black lipstick and browns eyes with a noticable large bust to her and pale skin comeplxion
Along with wearing a skin tight bodysuit with shoulder pads as it had long sleeves. With a mandarin collar and a diamond shaped beyhole on her sternum. The bodysuit was blood red with dark gray stropes looped around the shoulders and forearms matching the patches on her elbow pits. This same pattern is seen on the hems of her collar and diamond shaped hole. Whose lower corner ran down the waist and meeting her belt which is adjoined by a golden ring and sash hanging from it. The leg of the suit had gre and adornaed with dark grey knee pads and stripes coiled around her thighs and shins.
"So what you tell me is true? That our friend daughter is with the league other team"she asked
"It appears so lady shiva. Lucky for you i got away in time to tell you now i'm sure her father will be happy to hear about her"bane said as lady shiva smiled slightly
"He will….hes requested i send dear rose to pursue her she will make quick work of those in her way. In due time she will be sent after her"shiva said as she bidded himgoodbye as she pulled a photo of deliah out marking her as a target for their league of assassins.
It seems the group have a brand new member to the team known as jinny hex. But their also was the apperance of lady shiva who seemed to have deliah as their next target for her real father. But soon enough they will have to visit prison for a certain mission. Thanks for reading!
