Three Pelicans soared through the skies of Japan having departed from the UNSC Mc Arthur, As they headed towards Yokohama. Chief Engineer Elance G. Wilson, accompanied by four other engineers and technicians, was among those aboard, along with their equipment.

As they flew, one of the engineers asked, "Chief Engineer Wilson, can you share any details about what exactly we'll be doing?"

Chief Engineer Wilson was silent for a moment, contemplating the Vice Admiral's instructions as the Pelican continued towards its destination. Finally, he spoke up. "Listen closely. I was the only one briefed by the Vice Admiral before we were kicked off the ship."

The engineers and technicians leaned in, eager to hear. "Once we're on the ground, we'll be assisting in developing a whole new operating system for their robots, and integrating new systems."

A technician raised his hand and asked, "Sir, what exactly is this operating system we'll be creating for the TSFs?"

The Chief Engineer chuckled before answering, "Their TSFs, or Tactical Surface Fighters, will be integrating the VISR. We're also aiming to outfit their fortified suits with Gen I or Gen II Pilot Helmets. The goal is to enable them to perform real acrobatics while negating the effects of G-forces."

The engineers and technicians nodded, understanding the task ahead. Another hand went up with a concern. "Sir Wilson, aren't we giving away too much free technology?"

"Take that question to the Vice Admiral. He's the boss who makes the decisions; I'm just following orders."

At that moment, one of the Pelican pilots, the mission commander, interjected, "Chief Engineer Wilson, we're nearing the designated landing point!"

The Pelican shook as it descended, and Wilson couldn't help but remember the scene that had led to this mission.

UNSC Mc Arthur

Vice Admirals Personal Quarters

"Vice Admiral, I heard you called for me?" Chief Engineer Elance G. Wilson asked as he entered the Vice Admiral's office, wondering why he had been summoned.

"Yes, I did, Chief Engineer Wilson," the Vice Admiral replied, leaning over his desk to hand him a holographic tablet. Wilson took a seat in one of the chairs.

"You see, I recently made quite an agreement with a certain professor. That agreement involves a substantial project."

Wilson waited patiently, knowing full well that the Vice Admiral would probably be cryptic for no apparent reason.

"This project requires someone who can manage a joint endeavor, and I know just the man for the job," the Vice Admiral said, staring at him intently.

"So, I'm that someone who could manage this joint project?" Wilson replied, slightly uncertain.

"Yes. I'm sending you along with four engineers and four technicians of your choice to help develop a new operating system and integrate certain technologies to enhance the capabilities and lethality of their TSFs."

"With all due respect, Vice Admiral, who will replace me exactly?" Wilson asked as he reviewed the holographic tablet, which detailed the TSFs. They seemed like massive walking robots, far larger than the Mantis, but he doubted they could defend against anything from the Hrunting or Yggdrasil projects.

"I have one of your boys lined up to replace you, so rest assured. I've taken quite a bit of backlash for this decision. And if you're wondering why the TSFs seem lacking in armaments, remember we are in the 21st century. It's a miracle they can even do what they do."

"I see."

"You have one hour to gather your team," the Vice Admiral said abruptly.

"What?! Vice Admiral, that's not enough—" Wilson was cut off as the Vice Admiral waved his hand dismissively.

"I want this project to get underway immediately. Time is of the essence for developing this new OS and integrating our tech."

"I see. I'll do what I can."

"You're dismissed, Chief Engineer Wilson. After that one hour, head to Hangar Two. Your ride will be there under Mission Commander Sasha Good."

"Sir, yes sir," Wilson replied, turning to leave. Begrudgingly, he set out to gather the technicians and engineers he hoped to bring along—those with experience but not integral to the ship's daily operations.

Chief Engineer Wilson was jerked back to reality by the concerned looks from the engineers and technicians around him.

"Sir Wilson, you alright?" one of them, Higgins, asked.

The Pelican rumbled again as they neared the landing zone. "Yes, I'm fine, Higgins."

They all clung tightly to their belts as Mission Commander Good announced over the intercom, "Hold tight, we're commencing landing procedures to the designated landing point."

The Pelican shook as its four hybrid fusion drives roared, but with the pilot's steady hand, it descended smoothly.

"We're green, ma'am!" the pilot called out.

With the thump of the ground beneath them, the ramp began to lower, revealing the newly activated airbase. Two other Pelicans landed nearby, completing the formation.

Mission Commander Good's voice rang out again, "Now off with the safety belts and out of my beloved Pelican. Good luck with your task, gentlemen!"

As they disembarked, Chief Engineer Wilson was immediately approached by a marine who introduced himself with a firm handshake.

"Good evening, gents. I'm Sergeant Major Serrano, and this here is Lance Corporal Norman. Next to him are Private First Class Bars, Amira, and Harrell."

Wilson nodded and returned the salute. "Pleased to meet you, Sergeant Major."

Serrano pointed to the four marines. "These are your assigned escorts. They'll guide you to your quarters."

Wilson glanced at the equipment, feeling a bit uneasy. "What about the equipment, Sergeant Major Serrano?"

Serrano gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "We can bring it immediately, or you can get some well-deserved rest first. You'll be reporting to Professor Kouzuki soon enough."

Wilson thought for a moment before replying, "Fine, I'm tired as it is."

The Sergeant Major nodded, and Lance Corporal Norman stepped forward to assist with the luggage. "Follow me, Chief Engineer Wilson."

The group made sure all their luggage was accounted for before finally heading to their assigned quarters.

As Chief Engineer Wilson walked past the UN personnel, he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease. From what he knew, the attrition rate here was just as bad as back home. Many of the personnel looked alarmingly young.

"Chief Engineer, this is your assigned room from the professor. Please report to him as soon as you can," Lance Corporal Norman informed him.

"I appreciate your help very much, Lance Corporal," Wilson replied.

The Lance Corporal saluted him before handing over his luggage. Wilson felt the exhaustion from the day's work settling in as he looked around his quarters. They were utilitarian in design, much like his quarters on the McArthur.

After leaving his luggage in the dorm, Wilson swiftly left his quarters, only to realize he didn't actually know where Professor Kouzuki's office was. As he walked, the realization slowly dawned on him. Lost in thought, he accidentally bumped into someone, falling to the ground. The person he bumped into quickly helped him up, but not without some irritation.

"Watch it!" the person exclaimed.

"Sorry about that," Wilson apologized. The other person sighed but helped him up anyway. It struck him that he could have just asked for directions.

"Excuse me, miss. Can I ask you something if I'm not too bothersome?" he said, trying out his limited Japanese. He cursed inwardly, wishing he'd brought a translator.

To his surprise, the person responded in slightly imperfect but understandable English. "I can understand you in English, although not perfectly. You seem completely lost."

"Uh, miss, do you know exactly where Professor Kouzuki's office is?" Wilson asked.

She looked a bit surprised before answering, "Coincidentally, I was just heading to the XO's office. Follow me."

Wilson nodded, relieved, and followed her as she led the way, continuing to speak in her slightly accented English.

Finally arriving at the professor's office, Wilson watched as the other person knocked on the door.

"Come in," a voice called out.

They entered the office, and Professor Kouzuki looked up. "Sergeant Jinguji, you seem to have fetched him for me."

The professor's tone confused Wilson and the other person, but she quickly continued, "Chief Engineer Wilson, you were supposed to be in my office by 12:30 PM. You're late by thirty minutes; it's now 1 PM."

She waved a folder around as she spoke.

"Apologies, Professor Kouzuki. I was unfamiliar with the base and got lost," Wilson explained.

She waved him off dismissively. "Did you know, he was rather insistent on getting this started, so here, take it."

She handed him the folder. Wilson took it and waited to see if there was anything else the professor needed to inform him about.

"From time to time, I'll be checking on the project's progress. For the data you need, you can find Captain Isumi for your temporary test pilots."

"Understood, Professor Kouzuki."

As he turned to reach for the door handle, the professor called him back. "Do you even know where you're going, Chief Engineer Elance G. Wilson?"

He stopped, sheepishly nodding as he turned back to face her. It struck him as odd that she used his full name.

"Not exactly, ma'am."

"I thought so. Sergeant Jinguji, could you lead him to the engineering department?"

Sergeant Jinguji looked displeased but replied, "I have something equally important, Commander Yuuko."

The professor eyed her skeptically. "And what is this equally important task you have?"

"It's about the addition of the new equipment training."

"Huh. Well, you can come back later, can't you? Besides, it's not like they would struggle much with that."

Having no retort, the sergeant sighed and decided to comply. Just then, there was another knock on the office door.

"Come in. By the way, you're both dismissed," Professor Kouzuki said.

The sergeant sighed again, turning to the door. As they stepped out, they were met by Sergeant Major Serrano.

"Fancy seeing you here, Chief Engineer," Serrano remarked, slightly confused.

"He was quite late, Sergeant Major," Sergeant Jinguji explained.

Nodding, Sergeant Jinguji led Wilson towards the engineering wing.

"What is it, Sergeant Major? Be quick about it," came the slightly irritated voice of Professor Kouzuki.

The Sergeant Major responded, "Ma'am, the holographic table installation is complete. We can begin the war game simulation. I have already reported this to the Brigadier General."

"Is that all?" the professor cut in.

"No, ma'am. Additionally, the Brigadier General wants you in the holographic room so we can begin the simulation."

"I see. I'll be there in a minute."

"Understood, ma'am." The Sergeant Major saluted before taking his leave.

Before he could exit, Professor Kouzuki called after him, "Sergeant Major, do you know about A-47?"

He looked slightly confused. "No, ma'am. What exactly do you mean by A-47?"

The professor waved her hand dismissively. "Nothing, Sergeant Major Serrano. You're dismissed."

As the door closed behind him, she thought to herself, 'While the smart A.I. has certainly been a fantastic help with my theories and calculations, it also has its drawbacks.'

'Tsk, no need for Sakon to break in. They can keep an eye on it.'

"That was something," Sergeant Major Serrano's voice tinged with disappointment as he eyed the results of the wargame.

"I'm surprised by how accurate this is, Sergeant Major Serrano," Brigadier General Radhabinon said, his tone filled with astonishment at the precision of the smart AI.

The AI, originating from the McArthur, was displayed on the holographic table once again.

"It is indeed accurate and brutal," Sergeant Major Serrano responded, voicing his concern as he stared at the results.

The simulation displayed a "what if" scenario, primarily focused on the potential invasion of Japan. Starting with data from platoon-sized Beta encounters, the scenario escalated from there.

A UNSC Marine Company, typically numbering between 130 and 250 soldiers, began to struggle when encountering Battalion-sized Beta units, which ranged from 60 to 250.

"The AI's predictions based on the data we provided for Operation 21st are quite something," Professor Yuuko Kouzuki affirmed, surprised by the extent of UNSC's predicted losses, especially during the attempted capture of the Hive.

"Brigadier General, should we run another simulation?" Sergeant Major Serrano asked, considering further scenarios.

"TSF squadrons could be deployed in combination with Warthogs armed with Vulcan chainguns," the Brigadier General suggested to the smart AI.

The AI, which would later return to the McArthur, processed the new data.

"We could probably combine our forces for the next scenario since our last one only involved our troops occupying that Hive," Sergeant Major Serrano voiced his opinion.

"That's true. We can attempt that," the Brigadier General agreed.

"How about adding the XG-40 or was it the OO unit?" Sergeant Major Serrano asked, looking at Professor Kouzuki.

"If you're planning to include the OO unit, you should probably count in the Valkyries as well, Sergeant Major," the professor concurred.

Currently, the OO unit was still theoretical and in development, but its potential capabilities were promising.

"Alright, let's set up another simulation including those elements," the Brigadier General decided, eager to see how the combined forces would fare.

AN: Hi their readers, Erdian_Tales here back with a new chapter I call it a god dam filler because it is just that .

I Promise next Chapter will mainly focus on training squad 207th B, yes Takeru and friends just that idont belive i could capture their characters perfectly.

Remember lands your reviews do help interms on what I add but dont expect it to always appear since does suggestions needs to be logical, and Wow 1k readers!

Time to answer reviews:

snipervtk4

The most obvious is that UNSC have the answer for old UN problem: FTL Drive, MAC gun, ship construction capabilities and power source that solves energy crisis.

And maybe help them clean up BETA Luna hives, and set them up as UN Forward Base for Deep Space Central, establish the satellite as resource center that send war material back to Earth to help Humanity continue fighting. Then push for O'neil Space Cylinder as Orbital Habitat to solve Refugees crisis.

AN: Thanks for the review snipervtk4, The UNSC can probably destroy hives with easy, yet trying to capture one or even occupy one would be paid with great amounts of blood right now the Fleets main priority is to establish its self like mining asteriods and etc.

As for the refugees, well after the RLF stunt their kinda, worried.

Qrious writ3r

They gave them a Smart Al? Isn't that like, ex- tremely valuable to a point that the UNSC would just shaft them in order to prevent capture by the Covenant? I mean sure it's an act of goodwill but still. Unless you plan on having the Al hack them to hell and back in which case, damn.

Also, I don't think the UNSC will be able to fight the BETA head on. Their missiles will be next to useless due to the Laser-class, honestly their only real and very effective weapon are MACS and even then pretty sure you don't want to use them on a planet. Just my opinion.

AN: You may see it as extreme but gaining trust while also watching what exactly that is, just blame the ilmunati we all know Yuuko has plans but right now she need resources.

Laser Class is a real threat an extreme one at that, thats why suggestions are coming up on how exactly, the current main solution: Once detected it will be a high priority for UNSC ships to bombard the Lasers strain leaving the UNSC with Air superiority.

Another would be to support the laser jag, once Laser Class is taken out its likely they would fall. The key thing should be noted that the Earth Campaign will definitely be bloody due to the fact that they cannot risk earths safety with devastating nuclear fire or high intensity Mac Fire.

Well anymore question and next chapter I promise answer them, Whoops I went over.
