"Come on! Wake up!" Geus screamed into his grave, his eyes full of tears and body overfilled with trembles. "They're right out there!" He fell to his knees, fists slammed into the grass. "I don't care how hurt you are! Just give them one last goodbye!" His head dropped to the ground. "Please... Wake up."
'We got a pulse, it's faint and near the zero mark... But they're there.' the voice echoed out. 'I don't know if he can hear us, but he's at least responding.'
"I can hear you, Beka. For god's sake I can hear you." Geus cried. He clenched the grass till his knuckles turned white. "I just can't wake up."
'You did it, Geus." Another voice came through be. 'The whole world saw what you did.' the tears and cries from this voice was louder than the other. The mumbles and breaks in her voice apparent. 'If only you could see it.'
"I saw it." Geus rolled onto his back, his head pointed to the sky and rested before the grave. "I know damn well everyone saw that."
'I remember seeing you, before all of this.' the first voice said between heavy breaths. 'you said you were going to be on the news. That everyone had to watch you become a hero. Well you did it... But now they need to see you too.'
"I know, I can't even bask in this glory with the rest of you. My body's burned beyond saving." His head arched up to see inside his grave.
A body of his own rested in there, his eyes open but the sockets clears of anything. Skin once pale now is bruised to black and purple. Bones that were hidden behind layers decided to rest on the surface. He was nothing more than a mangled corpse.
"So why do you torment me? Why can't I let myself go?"
'We saw you on the screen though. I saw your body fly after you gave an opening for Midoriya. Nobody believed me, but I wouldn't let you go.' the first voice cried. Beka's voice. 'It was like a giant purple cacoon flew through the sky.' she laughed. 'Truly a once in a lifetime sight.'
"It kept me alive I guess. Or kept me wherever the hell I am now."
'We're getting you to safety though!' We'll get you back into UA, get you all treated, then, then'
"Jiro." Geus rolled onto his stomach then back up to his feet. "Jiro." He hurled himself into the grave, grabbing hold onto the corpse that rested inside. "Wake me up! Get me out of here! For fuck's sake man! You're making them all cry! Don't you feel any dignity?"
'then we'll get you playing bass again! Just all of us, or just me and you at least.' her tears overpowered her words, eventually breaking it entirely.
'I promised you all,' another voice came into the mix. 'that I would get all of my students out safely to see them graduate. You're one of my students, Geus."
"Aizawa." Geus rapidly shook his own corpse, his tears flooding his eyes at this point. "You're failing them all!"
'I wouldn't blame you if you decided not to return to us.' Aizawa's voice was shaken, the first he ever heard from his teacher. 'Your family is somewhere we are not, the years you felt alone, isolated from anybody else. To see them again, I'd understand."
Geus released his grasp of himself. Geus looked up from the grave, seeing a smiling pair of his grandfather and cousin. 'But let us be selfish just this one time, we won the fight, and we want to see you enjoy it with us.'
"Are you guys holding me back? To spend the rest of my existence with you?" Geus smirked out of frustration. His legs crumbled and dropped him next to the corpse. "I really am dead, not just a hallucination this time."
The pair of ghosts held their hands out, their mouths not did their eyes move. Geus could only cry and slug his body deeper into the ground. They didn't move closer or farther, their arms neither did weaken as they stretched out.
'Please Geus, just hang in there! We're almost home.' Jiro pressed into Geus's ear. The voice is louder and clearer than before.
"You can't take me yet... Please stop making them cry. They don't deserve this."
Geus tossed the body at them and dug his hands into the dirt. Mud and slop flung into the walls and high above Geus, and yet the ghosts didn't waiver. His hands were covered in mud, each fingernail blackened by it. He dug and dug till he felt nothing, not a flat surface, water, air, just a blank void.
He pulled out his final group and looked down, it looked like the dark sky was exposed through. His expressions expressed through a loud scream before he punched into it. "I hear you!" Jiro! Beka! Aizawa!"
'Did you see that?' Beka gasped. "Geus! You're going to be alright!'
"She heard me." Geus started to laugh, the exhaustion was quickly catching ground. "Beka! I'm... I'm not there but I am!"
'Don't rush yourself.' Aizawa's voice was closer. 'One word at a time, your heart is beating too fast.'
"I'm... Not... Dead... Yet!"
'Geus, you're... Alive.' Jiro could barely speak through her tears. Her emotions almost blocked her ability to speak. 'Just stay like that a little bit more... Please.'
"For you! I'll wake up! Just watch me!" Geus turned back around to see no one watching him. "If they can hear me then I'm not dead!" Geus jumped from the grave. His head snapped in various directions to see nothing. "This is my own mind space. I'm holding myself back in." His vision locked into the headstone, his name and birthdate were on there, but not today's date.
Geus closed his eyes, his breathing went down to a controllable level, his thoughts cleared. The quirk he relied so much on was but a flicker of its former power, the pain it took to muster this much was astronomical. He could feel each tendon flex and crush into itself, his blood pressure raised, yet it was not enough. All that came out was his fingertips.
"Keena." Tears rolled out once more. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, that I left you in that hell hole."
'I know you mean it.' Keena's voice echoed through the chamber. 'You are not yet ready to be by my side, and that's okay. Just today, I'll make sure you don't come back to me.'
His power intensified, his quirk flowed throughout his arms and strengthened his muscles. His pores opened and simmered out a thin fog of his gas. Geus snapped onto his wrist and tightened his grip around it. "Grandfather, I should've listened to your every word. I hesitated and only saw the anger everyone else left on me. Please! Please help me wake up!"
'You know I'd give my whole life to make sure you can keep walking. Today is no different, maybe this time, I can ensure I do better than how I treated your father. This retribution is as much mine as it is yours.' Gaz's voice boomed out.
Geus's chest felt free and uncongested from his own blood. His power shot straight into his lungs and up his throat. All of his arm, his chest, neck, and face enveloped in his quirk.
"Don't let your bloodline end here!" Geus dropped into a sprinter's stance, his eyes locked onto his headstone. "One For All can't end us then! And he can't end us now!"
'I helped him get into the power he has now, elevating a catastrophe to its current level. Maybe my sister was wrong and our decisions were as well.' Geus was caught off guard, never expecting to hear his aunt's voice in his head.
'Son, let this be the final time we ever hold you back.' the first time Geus heard his father's voice in person since his death. 'Give them the hell we should've stopped before.'
The quirk surrounded the rest of Geus's body. His back swelled with power and exploded before he realized it. The body surrounded with purple smoke pulsed to the grave stone at mach speed. His body slammed through and straight into a blinding void.
"AHHHHH!" Geus shot up and launched his quirk body suit into the sky.
"Geus!" Jiro strangled her body tighter than he ever felt ever before.
"Be careful! I'm not sure how much of his injuries are healed!" Beka ran around to the girl and quickly pried her from him.
A hand grabbed his shoulder and squeezed. "Glad to see you alive." Todoroki smiled.
Geus looked around confused to see him and the rest of his class around a helipad. "What, where?"
"Thanks to Beka and a few of the students they saw on camera feeds, that your body flew across the battlefield." Aizawa stepped up next to Geus. "But beyond that, I'm glad you survived it all."
"A compliment," Geus smirked. "Never thought I would see a clear one like that." Geus looked at his body, covered in bandages and frozen solid by Todoroki's quirk. Even though his body was overall free to move, he couldn't.
"Right now your injuries are too severe, it's a medical anomaly you are even alive now." Beka hid slightly behind the girl. Afraid to make eye contact with him.
"I get it, I saw how I looked before. I saw my bones, flesh and organs, nothing I should've lived through."
"It looked like your quirk protected you until it evaporated to your life."
"Thank you Beka for saving me, finding me in all this."
The cries she tried to hide failed and sprung around Jiro. Her arms gently wrapped around his head and kissed his head. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry for not believing in you, for being so scared to see you hurt!"
"It's quite alright, I was blinded by revenge. But I'm not sorry for doing all of it, I did what I thought was right... Even though I was wrong."
"At least he still has his manliness through this." Kirishima nodded. "Don't need to be stupid and hide your faults."
"Exactly, he gave us the opening we needed to get to All For One." Mina's hand shot out with a thumbs up.
"I'll give you this. You didn't hold me back like I thought you would." Bakugo, still as snarky, even bound to a wheelchair. "Good job."
Geus felt his vision blur. "Ah shit." His head fell back into his pillow, beeping noises louder and faster. His head fell to the side of Jiro. "I'm sorry, I don't think I have much longer." His eyes closed and smiled. "Thank you. For this time together and believing in me."
"Geus!" Kendo's voice broke out through the crowd. "Please, you can't leave yet!"
Geus's weak laugh simmered to nothing. "I'm not leaving, I'll wake up again soon... I... I kn"
"Todoroki! Cool him off more!"
"Any more and his body will go into shock! We need to rush him in!" Todoroki shouted and pushed the stretcher.
"You got this, Geus! We'll graduate together, you'll see it! You'll see it standing next to us!" Midoriya yelled. "You are the reason we all got here today! Stopped all of this!"
"Don't give up my friend." Fumikage held the door open to the elevator. "You have to see the victory with your own eyes!"
"I will!" Geus looked around to the black void again. His body felt lifeless, stuck floating in a void. He turned, there was nothing, reached out his arm and nothing. "I'll get up again! Just watch me!"
