Like I said before folks, this will now be the main start of the stories. The whole arc with Gaara was to show that the wizards and shinobi can work together. Now we are going mainstream for a bit. And when I mean mainstream, we are going to start focusing on the events that are solo to their stories. Others will be there like with the Gaara but Harry or Naruto will be taking the lead

Harry was happy as he returned to the room, he shared with his year mates and two shinobi now. Ron beside him, he looked to his best friend who grinned as well. Before they had left Konoha two days earlier they had to get ready for school, they both had received headbands sporting the phoenix symbol.
Thanks to Fawkes in a multitude of things. The Hidden Village of the Leaves would also become the Village of the Phoenix. The bird's coming and going for the wizards had left an impression on the village and well it will last forever. Many things had caused it to prosper with Fawkes comings and goings.
It was one of the best things Harry and most of the wizards were able to witness. Moody, who had gone home for a bit, had returned with aurors who had volunteered for this exchange of sorts. Of course they were one's he trusted, but it helped as Kakashi at the sight of one had let up like a kid in a candy store.
He had immediately grabbed Tonks who was laughing as he pulled her away, declaring her his partner and no one else's. Which to the surprise of many had startled those who knew him. He was always one to avoid a team outside of his students if he could help it. The fact that he grabbed this woman before anyone else was something for the gossip in the village. Perhaps where others had failed to bring him into their circles, the woman succeeded.
Tonks had come along with a couple of others. Under the discussions with Hiashi, which had taken quite a while to be honest from what Hinata had told them before he left. But at least 5 of the branch family members were interested in going and he had allowed it. Hence there would be a small gathering of Hyuuga members that would be staying in Grimmauld place with his permission.
Now another he was surprised to witness, was because of Fawkes and a very large friend.
Flashback
Packing up the last of his belongings, Hedwig looked at her perch mournfully. The owl had received presents as well from the village and she loved it. There were gorgeous feathers, toys for her to mess with among other items. And she couldn't take them all with her.
It sucked.
But she had of course picked her favorites and handed them to her chick. The youth smiled as she hooted her desire, each time he gave her a rub down on her feathers that she loved.
Her other chick comes in now, she flies to him and perches on a shelf nearby. Giving her feathers special attention, he puts some meat for her to munch on in front of her. She dives in with gusto at that offering which makes her love them even more.
That's when she looks up rapidly at both her chicks and pauses at the sound of a phoenix song.
Harry what the hell, that doesn't sound like Fawkes
I know Naruto, the wizard had said in confusion.
Both boys looking around them, they found themselves in shock as out of nowhere a phoenix unlike any other emerged. A bright golden color and twice the size of their friend. Said friend, Fawkes arriving beside it, the familiar and friend of Hogwarts trilled at Hedwig with questions.
The Lord of all birds wishes to speak with you my friend
Really? Surprised to say the least, Hedwig looks up in amazement. Said Lord gives a smile in amusement as she begins to flounder in embarrassment. Trying to remember her manners as she offers some meat to them.
Yes, wise owl of white, Fawkes has told me much about you and your charges, The golden one said in response. I and many of my own family have observed the love you have for both of them. I also know of their destinies.
I know my Lord Phoenix as well, Hedwig replied. I don't like it but there is nothing I can do. I just want to be there for them and help then if I am able

I have observed for a while now your interactions with your charges and the people around you, Hedwig of the owls. And the one who has made even me has allowed me to offer you a gift.

Almost falling off the shelf, the bird is steadied by the blonde boy. Harry and he are both confused as they don't understand what is going on. They just know that the birds seem to be conversing.
Me?
Yes you
I'd be honored but why?
I see much promise in you. As you know, we phoenixes do not die, we are simply reborn. Hence as we age, we grow stronger. I have also seen your fate Hedwig and I tell you know if you decline you will be killed before you return with one of your charges. I offer this because if you choose you will not only live. But when the time comes you will be able to aid those you care for when they need it the most.
Hearing his words. Hedwig nodded her head in acceptance. Wanting to be more helpful to her chicks, the bird prepared herself for what is to come.
You will die as an owl but be reborn as a phoenix.
Nodded her head, she gives a soft hoot to both boys and next thing she knows the world becomes black. The protest of both in her mind as they asked why. About ready to attack out of grief for her supposed death it is she herself who stops them with a song.
Whirling around from the ashes of what was once her owl form. Hedwig feels the difference in her form as the ashes surround her spirit. Forming around her and becoming her body, the now phoenix looked at herself in awe.
Still retaining her colors of white and black, the former all let out a song of joy as she looked at both her chicks.
Hedwig? Came from both in unison.
Giving a song of affirmation, the two run to her and just look at her with amazement.
What how?
Now turning to the large bird along with Fawkes. This time the bird does not sing but speaks.
"Do not abuse or we will take her away. My son will help her understand her new form and for that I bid you farewell."
Flashback ends
After the bird had vanished, Fawkes and Hedwig started trilling and chirping at one another left and right. Knowing full well that the former was explaining things to the latter he had let them be. The goblins were happy to transport them as a group so he arrived in time to catch the train with his friends.
Having gotten to Neji, TenTen, and Lee, on the train over, the three shinobi had been informed that they would be sharing rooms. Before Naruto and Sakura had shared a series of rooms with Kakashi and so to promote getting to know them. The boys would of course be in the rooms with Harry and Ron. TenTen would be with Hermione and the other girls. This was good news to all as they made introductions to the rest of the wizards.
Because when out of curiosity as to what houses they would be in. All three teenagers from Konoha qualified for every single one. Sly like Slytherin, loyal like Hufflepuffs, smart like Ravenclaw, and brave like Gryffindor. Basically, they could reside in any house they chose. So knowing Harry and his friends they of course joined the house of lions.
Exiting the common room with the others, Harry lit up at the sight of TenTen bounding down the stairs after him. Hermione and the Patil twins beside her, he could tell she had been working out a schedule with them. Considering the fact that they were twins he had a feeling she would be dragging him with her as well to whatever she plotted.
He would love that.
Now as all four girls join him and the others, he smiled as he felt TenTen link her arms with his. Neji and Lee each standing beside Parvati and Padma, the two girls found themselves blushing at their attention. Lee going on about their beauty to Parvati and Neji just smiling at Padma who was getting flustered.
Ron and Hermione watching on, Harry starts to lead the way with TenTen. The others follow them and shortly they are at the feast chatting at the lions table. None of the food yet they go through the welcome, as Dumbledore begins his speech.
"Everyone welcome back to Hogwarts, and I have things I would like to announce. As you can already tell our three friends had to return to their village as they had things to attend to. But all is not lost. We are welcoming this time four new friends who agreed to come in their stead." The smile and twinkle on his features. The older man turns to his side as he gestures to Gai.
"This is Professor Gai; he will be teaching seals in place of Professor Hatake and physical self-defense as well. He informs me that he will be teaching styles best suited to your stance and build from what I can tell. His assistant will be one of his students, Lee Rock."
"Yosh!" Said teenager exclaims much to the embarrassment of those who know him. Save for Parvati who actually didn't mind it. Same for Padma, their family was loud and rambunctious half the time anyway.
"We also have Neji Hyuuga and with him we will be trying something different. He will become a prefect and will often be patrolling the school with the others. And beside our own Mr. Potter is a young lady named TenTen who will be helping out Professor Hagrid in the Care of Magical Creatures as well as Potions with Professor Slugworth."
Grinning as most of the wizards look at the trio sitting with the lions, they do not notice one of them gazing at them with hope in his eyes.
Remembering what his father had told him to do over the holidays, he had to find a way to approach Professor Gai. Draco really did not want to continue fixing that cabinet if he could help it. Waiting for the opportunity, he continued to eat as the others chatted around him. That's when silence hit the dining room as Seamus cried out.
"CLAN STATUS!"
Looking towards the Gryffindor table, Weasley and his sister look around sheepishly as do the teachers. Gai chuckling to say the least stands up to explain.
"Indeed students. Ron and Ginny are part of the first wizarding clan to be established in our home. It is because their family in the short time my people have known them have contributed to our wellbeing. His brother Bill is the official Clan Lord of my people and thus on our governing council as well as advisor in magic to our Hokage."
Shock in the eyes of most Slytherins including Draco, they started to think about things in this village. The power the Shinobi exude is way stronger than theirs. Even now they watch as TenTen decides to spear a chicken with those Kunai things that the others had. Hearing the laughter as she sticks her tongue out at Seamus who had luckily got out of the way.
He hears Harry reassuring him that if she truly wanted to kill him, she would have. Apparently, this girl never misses. Wondering even now about the other two, he can see that most of the girls are too busy fawning over the boy with the long hair. His eyes almost completely white, it took looking close to see a hint of lavender in them. His build and stance were much better than theirs, it was the same for the weird one in green.
Wearing a full-blown body suit, Harry grins at the insistence of Ginny who knew alongside the others to take off his weights. Hesitant at first, they could all hear what pounds of weight could only be hitting the floor. The crater underneath gets bigger with each drop. The teachers with each look at Gai as if to see what he would say
"Lee is my best student, he cannot access chakra, but his speed is unmatched." He told Professor Snape. They both watch as in a blink of an eye the teen catches a kunai before it hits the wall. No one was even able to see him move, one second, he was at the Gryffindor table next he was by Hufflepuff catching the kunai.
"What about the young Hyuuga boy?" Slugworth asks curiously. "I dare say he is a fine young man. Much like Mr. Potter and his two friends were."
"Neji is good in both but it's his bloodline that gives him an edge."
"Bloodline?" Asks a couple of teachers listening in. Among them are Sinistra and Madame Pomphrey."
"Yes. Neji possesses a bloodline called the Byakugan, I cannot go into detail as per his request. But Harry over there has been confirmed to have one as well. Although many of my colleagues are trying to find ways for him to utilize it, like Naruto, it is late in the finding."
"What do they have?"
"Both chakra and magic, but to use chakra it takes many years to get to the level that my students are. They have been molding and using since they were 5-8 years old. Much like your magic I understand, correct?"
"Indeed Gai." Dumbledore interjected. "But I digress, Mr. Uzumaki has magic."
"The Hokage believed so, she had run tests on both of them and Mrs. Weasley when they had returned to the village. With the help of the Hyuugas they were able to determine that Naruto indeed does, but it is suppressed."
"Suppressed how?" Madam Pomphrey replied.
"Circumstances that I am not free to say I am afraid, Madame." Gai replied.
About to reply, Dumbledore speaks up to prevent her questioning. "I know what he speaks of and indeed he cannot say my dear Madam Pomphrey. Just that Naruto has a full handle of things as do others in his situation."
Nothing more said of things, Gai and the rest continue to eat. Most having tuned it out, Draco is immensely curious. Knowing how he must speak to the man, he finds said man looking at him with a raised eyebrow. The other Slytherins paying no attention, he makes a motion that he wants to talk to the teacher. A subtle nod of his head, the blonde can almost breathe a sigh of relief.
To be honest he had been afraid that Harry would turn them against his family with the relationship between them. He knows better though; the golden boy and his friends were not the type. They may not like him. But they were not the type to do things like that. Seeing as the feast was finishing up, Draco kept an eye on the new teacher.
Seeing as the man was heading outside for a moment, he gestured for the others to go on without him. Getting up the courage, he is unaware he is being watched. Still angry about her father's death at the hands of those people, Pansy was not happy. Things were not going her way.
First she and the other initiates had tried spells and such on them. But those two students always knew it was coming. And their teacher? Her house was always in trouble because of the stuff they tried to do. But the man thwarted them at every turn. She had tried to jinx Harry during a quidditch game last year, the teenager would have died for he almost landed in the willow if not for that blonde catching him.
Creating a multitude of copies of himself, despite the storm that day he made himself into for lack of a better term, a pillow. A huge pillow of nothing but copies of him. Not only was the Golden Boy saved. But he even had the snitch in his hands, that had psst her off to no end. Now looking after Draco, as per her Lord's request. She delighted in doing so as she claimed him as her man and no one else. She would pretty much resort to killing the next girl who touched him as a warning to others.
About to keep going as Draco said something to the man, she knows nothing more as she passes out. Lee right behind her, he nods his head towards his sensei. Gai giving a smile, Draco breathes a sigh of relief as Pansy would immediately have reported to the Dark Lord. His family is already in enough danger as is.
"Well Mr. Malfoy you wanted to tell me something did you not?"
"Yes, the will of fire burns on."
A serious but warm smile appears on the man's features, he nods his head in understanding. " I shall expect you early then. That is when training begins."
About to protest as he wasn't really a morning person, that is when he receives an arm on his shoulder with a voice of knowledge behind him.
"Life in our part of the world is not easy, Draco-san." Lee replied from behind him. Neji to the side coming out of nowhere." Gai nodded his approval at their proving his point, "You must be able to defend yourself with more than just your magic." Neji stated. "Because sooner or later there is always someone better and faster than you."
All three vanish in the blink of an eye, he takes their words to heart.
The next day
Tired but happy, Harry smiled as he had been able to spend time with TenTen last night. Getting to know her love of weapons, family, and home, the wizarding teen found himself getting closer with each word spoken. Having impulsively taken her hand in his, she gives a little blush before going on quizzing him. Making him happy as she never takes her hand away.
Flashback…
"Harry, tell me what I can expect here." she chirped brightly.
Looking thoughtful to say the least he looks to find her brown eyes shining with curiosity. "I heard a lot from Naruto and Sakura, but I want to hear what you have to say."
"Well Hogwarts does have its quirks," He chuckled. Telling her about the ghosts, stairs, even the room of requirements. He had already told Gai about that and the man appreciated the knowledge. Already knowing he had decided to hold some classes there to provide weights to work with. He can almost picture the wizards groaning as they lift them up.
It was going to be pretty interesting to see when Gai starts teaching.
"What about deliveries? I saw some things when we were in the alley that I would love to send home."
"Oh, like what?"
"Well for starters the brooms." She said, "Daddy wants me to ask you about stocking some in his shop and how to maintain books and he gave me a lot of money to do so."
Grinning, he nods his head. " That would be useful, with more and more wizards coming to work and to live in Konoha. Having someone with brooms and stuff they need to take care of them would be handy. I am sure Hedwig would be happy to take everything to him."
"That's great Harry-kun." TenTen started happily. "Now I want to send something to Hinata and Sakura. Sakura and Hinata both want some of these books…" Whispering the genre and everything, Harry flusters quite a bit as he does know what they are. Having seen his aunt and even Hermione reading them from time to time he gives a sound of understanding. Although one that came out as a squeak which tickled her pink.
TenTen giggling as she sees his slightly embarrassed features, she leans forward and gives him a kiss on his cheek. Now a bright lobster red with a big smile of his features, she laughs a little more. "Thank you, Harry."
Ends…
Ron and the other boys watching, they had never let him hear the end of it that night. They even got Lee to tell them about some things that happened over the summer. Which of course he spilled, having snuck in a little firewhiskey, both he and Neji were lucky before they gave him any.
Real quick to explain about Lee and alcohol, the other boys had quickly taken it away. Understanding the full meaning of Jackie Chan and his Drunken Master movie.
Now tired but happy, he is running down the stairs, knowing Lee is already there as Neji and TenTen join them. Even Ron, despite being half dead, the redhead had come with Hermione and Ginny right behind him. Seeing what the shinobi did made him want to go back and visit. Besides finding a way to start a quidditch team there? That's something he wanted to be a part of.
Hermione, she was intrigued by their skills and how things that normally shouldn't work, do there with their chakra. On the other hand, with Ginny, she had been depressed seeing Harry fawn over TenTen whom she admits was a good person. But the minute she saw Kiba? Well, there was a measure of disgust as his manners were worse than Ron's. But yet talking to him and playing with Akamaru?
She had fun and she realized he was a good guy.
So, if she wants to visit him, she has to get stronger.
All of them heading towards the quidditch pitch others from all the houses begin to join slowly but surely. The Patil twins, both carrying their staffs, Cho Chang had come as well. After the death of Cedric, things had not been the same with her. But seeing Sakura and talking with her. She had been convinced that next time, someone she loves is in danger. She was going to fight back.
Neville, Susan, many of them were coming out. They were tired and looking exhausted, but they were ready. The most surprising ones though were Luna and Draco. The former seemed to have a sword at her side, and the blonde just smiled sweetly. "I was told that I would need this by the nargles." She said happily. "Luckily Daddy had his old one."
Surprisingly enough as she continues on, her father was a fencing champion by hobby. Despite his quirks, he was a genius with the sword. He had even begun teaching her when Christmas break started as she had told him.
Now as to Draco and his friends.
Just about everyone was shocked. Most just him, Blaise, And the Greengrass sisters, Harry knew of course what was going on. Being kept informed of the discussion Kakashi had with the Malfoy Lord. Harry was back up in case Gai or the others could not make it. Giving a subtle nod to Draco, the blonde returned it as well.
About to say something, Ron is stopped by Harry as the blonde Slytherin moves on. "You have to trust me, Ron. Do not bug him, okay?" Grumbling about egotistical gits. The red head could tell Harry had meant business, wanting to know what's going on. He looks to Hermione, who shakes her head. Already having a rough idea, the girl was indeed the smartest as he with the actions of Gai as they approached, the man steadily stepped forward. Taking both Harry and Draco in hand as he gestures for TenTen to follow him.
Both boys looking at one another, he sets Harry and TenTen to teaching the new ones the basics to build up their strength. Knowing what to do, both begin their work.
Those who are more experienced in the class are joined by Lee and Neji who start focusing on styles. Gai directs them to what he decides. Soon between the three, they have groups of which each starts showing the moves to be done. With Lee and Neji monitoring the others, Gai approaches the beginners who recently joined.
The jounin nodding his head approvingly at some of them who were working on stamina, he helped to correct some stances here and there. Among most of the newcomers, he gestured for them to continue as he pulled Harry away along with TenTen, gesturing for the Patil twins to come forward.
"I understand you girls are excellent with staffs are you not according to Kakashi," Gai stated curiously.
"Yes, Professor Gai." They replied in unison. Padma speaks up now as Parvati nods in agreement. "Our father had us learn when we were little. He, like all of you, believes that magic is great but our wands could be taken from us easily and broken. So he insisted on us taking classes and our teacher noticed we were good with the Bo staff."
"Excellent, I hope to someday meet your Sensei."
"We will tell him." Both girls were pleased at his compliment.
"I would like to see a spar between you four, and staff only TenTen."
"Aww!" A light chuckle coming from those around them, the four back up to their stances. Next thing Gai places his hand out and drops it. "Begin!"

2 hours later
Exhausted to say the least, those that were more or less new had collapsed on the grounds. Madame Pomphrey out and giving potions to help them recover. The woman looking towards Gai pauses his team as well as Harry and his friends. Bringing Draco to the side as if to discuss something. Most of the Slytherins give a snort as they believe it is simply the usual favoritism move on.
Only a select few pause, as they grow a little suspicious of Draco. They know what he has to do and were told to make sure he did it by the Dark Lord. But Blaise, who was informed the truth of it by Draco along with the Greengrass sisters, covered for him. The three after all were his best friends.
Honestly, he did like Crabbe and Goyle, but they were pretty much morons. Draco needed friends he could talk to and well those 4 were it.
"Harry, I believe you know what is going on?" The jounin asked.
"Yes Gai-sensei." The wizard boy replied. Ron and Hermione looked on in confusion. The teenager looking at them looks sheepish to say the least. "Kakashi-sensei told me not to mention what was going on until Tsunade said Ok."
Frowning to say the least, the others end up snickering a bit at his expression. Draco watching, he envies the friendship that they have with one another. But saying nothing, he watches as the older man acting like he was talking to Madame Pomphrey spoke.
'Young Draco and his family here have asked the Hokage for sanctuary. But it comes with a cost, he is to keep an ear out for things as well as his parents. What I want all of you to do is, if he cannot find me directly, he will give the letter to either Neji or Harry." Gai stated.
"Okay Gai-sensei" Both boys said in unison.
"Now Draco tell them what you told me earlier."
Reluctant to say the least, the blonde boy speaks up, telling them about the cabinet and everything that had been happening at his home. Feeling sorry for him, even if only just a little bit, Ron couldn't help but speak up.
"All because of a mistake your father made you are being forced to do this?"
Draco nodded. "And even I know it's impossible. I don't know how to fix the cabinet and he expects me to have it done so he can send his cronies in here to get this wand from me after I supposedly kill the headmaster."
"But you don't want to do it." Hermione asks as she starts putting things together in her mind as an idea starts working itself out.
"No…despite what the others have done, I'm no killer." The blonde admitted. "I may agree with some stuff, but after what I have seen over the summer. I can't do it. I can't be like that. But I had to, to save my mom and dad. He was going to kill them if I didn't do what he wanted."
Pulling Ron and the other teens to the side, Hermione discusses something that popped into her mind. Ron adds his own two cents as does Neji. Finally, an agreement is reached, they all approach Gai and Draco.
"I have an idea that can work for everyone and get Draco and his family out of here." Hermione stated.
Now in hushed tones, the group begins to listen as the girl explains…

I think I did good. We will see more of Slugworth, Snape and the others involved in Hogwarts for obvious reasons
Anyhow, if anyone wants to do some side stories in the parallel universe let me know. I am pretty flexible hee hee. I am already thinking about a sequel to this involving the next generation. But I have to catch up on my Boruto to cover that. Not to mention see how Two Blue Vortex works out so that is going to have to wait.
