Author's Note:
Here it is, the first two parter for this arc and as the title might suggest, it's based around a certain mythical. You could say it's also based off the event in the black & white games which revolves around the Liberty pass. This arc is going to be important for a couple of points later on in the story and we get some important objects. We also get a better understand of Plasma and their end goals. I don't want to give too much away so be sure to vote in the poll and with that, let's begin...
Chapter sixteen: Victini Liberty P I
Drake sunk his teeth into his lower lip, watching closely as Iris faced off against Cilan. "Nidoqueen to B8. Rapidash to B8, capturing Nidoqueen. Golem to E8."
"Check...mate?" Iris asked.
"Yeah... you won one." He nodded. "The Nidoking can't take the Golem because of Scyther on G5 and anywhere else it could move is covered by both pieces."
"Alright!" She launched herself into the air, knocking the board over with the remaining pieces.
He nodded in approvement, it's been a few days since the fishing competition and whilst waiting for the leader to return, they've spent the days training. He has been setting up the Pokémon, along with those of his companions with different tasks whilst continuing to test Iris in games of chess. After several consecutive losses, she moved onto playing Cilan... a decent player in his own right but far from a master of the game. This was her first victory since they started, and he had to admit she certain had improved it laying out plans and orchestrating them.
"We should probably get some dinner-" Cilan mused. "It's nearly dark out."
Nodding in agreement, he turned and recalled all his team except for Marowak as the two others did the same, leaving out Axew and Pansage respectively, quickly packing up the game. They turned and made their way back through the city. The two companions were discussing their last match, but he kept to himself and just them enjoy the moment... maybe next time he'd let Marowak test her chess skills... after all, who else did he play with before them?
Dinner was a fairy quick affair and they soon retired to their own rooms. With night creeping upon them, it was a pretty bland evening with the Nurse Joy checking over their team. Lying down in bed, it didn't take him long to slip into dream world.
He found himself back in Silver town outside of one of the fields where the top eight battles were being held. Leaning against the wall, he glanced down to his ground type by his side. Closing his eyes, he let out a low sigh and upon opening them again, he found his brother walking towards him.
"Drake?" he asked. "What're you doing here?"
"Came to see you-" he uttered, shuffling his feet. "I know you've got to see mister Goodshow, so I won't keep you long."
"Where have you been?" he asked. "I've hardly seen you since your battle with Gary."
The thought of his most embarrassing match to date felt like a punch in the gut. A sickly bubble pot stirred in his stomach as it replayed in his head.
"Short answer-" He sighed, shaking his head to end the thoughts. "I was trying to think of how I got that battle so wrong. I was so certain that I predicted his team and was... I was caught off guard. I made every logical calculation but there... there was one factor logic couldn't account for."
"Drake..." His brother exacerbated.
"I realised-" He didn't let him interjected. "I tried to predict how an emotional person would react... without the slightest clue on how emotions work."
"Drake-" His brother reached out, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Don't do this. You've come so far from-"
"Face it, Ash, I may be better with my Pokémon, but I don't feel emotions-" He turned and rested his head against the wall. "-I've got all the characteristics of a human. Flesh, blood, bone... but I can't feel what the rest of you do. I don't think I ever will-"
"Liar!" A childish voice echoed like they were in some sort of cave. He turned back but only his brother was there still.
"What're you saying?" Ash asked.
"... after Johto, when you head off to Hoenn. I won't be going with you," he explained, "I'm going to be heading off to Unova instead."
"You can't be serious." Ash shook his head. "You know we've got to face... something, in Hoenn. We'll need your help."
"No, you won't," he sighed, "you didn't really need my help with Rocket at the Radio Tower, and you'll handle this new threat yourself."
"Where's all this coming from?" Ash asked.
"I finally had Raikou find me-"
"Liar!" The same voice echoed .
A small, rabbit-like Pokémon with large, pointed ears which resembled the letter V. It had large, blue eyes and a round, cream-coloured head, which is comparatively large compared to the small, cream body, while the tops of its ears, crest, and extremities were all orange. The bulbous arms and legs were rounded to make a sort of "cuff" before ending with small, three-fingered hands and two-toed feet. With two pointed teeth that were visible on the upper jaw. It had two cream winglike tails, which allows it to fly.
"You're a liar!" The Pokémon giggled. "Raikou never came to find you! You decided to depart all on your own!"
"Erm-" He blinked as the world disappeared. Leaving him floating in pure darkness. "Hello."
"Hi!" The Pokémon cheerfully waved. "I'm Victini!"
"Right..." He uttered. "I'm-"
"I know who you are, Drake-" He interjected.
"How do you-"
"I'm in your mind... I'm psychic and I can literally see your life's memories, thoughts..." He shook his head. "Right, so good point. We should move onto-"
"I didn't say-"
"You thought it... same thing really-" The Pokémon identified as Victini shrugged. "At least in here it is."
"Is there a point to this?" he asked. "Or are you just here to annoy me?"
"Right-" He nodded. "You need to come to liberty garden."
"Huh?" he asked.
"Liberty garden... small island off shore to Castelia-" Victini reasoned. "It's got boats for tourists. Hurry up, I've got to give you something."
"Why can't you give it to me now?" he asked.
"This is a dream-" He clarified. "And I got told you was the smart twin of the chosen's..."
"What's that supposed to mean?" He frowned. "And you could've... teleported it. You are psychic or so you said-"
"I can't teleport-" he mumbled.
"And yet you dare to insult me?" he asked. "What sort of psychic can't teleport?"
"A lot of psychics, as it were-" Victini grumbled. "-I'd like to see you teleport."
"I'm not psychic-" he retorted.
"Shame! I would've preferred that chosen-" Victini shrugged. "I hardly get visitors... only really Celebi and when they need something."
"Do I get to know what this is all about?" he asked.
"When you get here-" Victini raised the clawed fingers. Clicking them together, a flame burst, as he faded from sight. The fire expanded and consumed the darkness. The heat increased as sweat flooded down his forehead-
Shooting up from his bed, panting heavily and covered in sweat, he glanced around and found Marowak spread out over the bottom of the bed. Placing a hand on his chest, he calmed his breathing and forced his heart rate to follow. Looking over to the bedside clock, he saw it was only an hour before his alarm was due to go off. Letting out a low sigh, going back to sleep now would just make him more tired for the rest of the day.
Being as quiet as possible, he slipped out of bed and walked into the on-suite bathroom. It might've just been in his head, but he still felt quite warm from the flames. Grabbing a quick shower, he came out to find his ground type getting himself up.
"Maro?"
"I... had trouble sleeping-" he whispered. "And we've got something else to do today... first thing is calling the lab."
"Maro-wak."
He wasn't about to trust this... Victini. Who knows what it wants him for, if experience has taught him anything... it's nothing good.
Once dressed in his usual attire, he made his way down through the centre and into the videophone suite. Dialling up the professor's lab, it didn't take long for an answer... but to his surprise, it was Professor Oak himself. It was quite rare for him to be the one who handles his transfers.
"Ah, just the trainer I was hoping to catch-" The old man smiled. "I need to discuss something with you, Drake. It's about the Basculin you scanned with your Pokédex a few days ago. The white stripped variant was once thought extinct, only being seen around the Sinnoh region and over a hundred years ago."
"Uh huh-" He uttered. "Professor, I was hoping to do some exchanges."
"Ah yes, certainly-" He nodded. "Who would you like, and I'll get them ready for you."
"Charizard, Starmie and..." He paused. He's got long range & air covered. Kingdra handles the water... and Yamask, given Victini might end up being the one they face would be beneficial. "Machamp."
"You got that?" he asked to someone off screen before turning back. "Alakazam is just off to collect them. Now about that Basculin."
"I don't know much about it, Professor-" He shrugged. "It's like a dangerous Magikarp."
"Where did you encounter it?" he asked.
"There was a fishing contest in Castelia docks-" he explained.
"And you fished it up?" he asked.
"No... some other trainer got it," he replied, missing out the part of travelling with said trainer. He really doesn't need the constant questions between them from here on out. "I wasn't even competing... just training next to the site of the contest."
"It's a shame because that discovery could've really helped a colleague of mine-" He nodded. "-he was my first apprentice, actually. Based in the Sinnoh region, he's been overseeing a massive project which involves the genetic changes species undergo."
"You mean like all regional birds sharing a common ancestor but changes in their environment changing how they're built current day?" he asked. "Pidgey having big beaks for nuts & large talons for dirt. Hoothoot being thicker feathers for the slightly cooler temps & wide eyes for night hunting."
"Exactly-" He nodded. "Oh, Alakazam has returned. Who were you sending over in place of these three, Drake?"
"Pignite, Shelmet and Rufflet."
Placing his three devices onto the transporter, in a flash they were switched. Taking the new devices off the pad, he clipped them to his belt.
"You've established quite a powerful line up-" The professor mused. "What's the occasion if you don't mind my asking."
"Oh erm-" he muttered, "the gyms closed but I've heard about this place called the battle company. I thought about trying it out."
"Ah-" He smiled. "Good luck my boy."
"Thanks Professor."
As the screen faded into black, he stood up and checked everything on his person. With Marowak by his side, they left for the lobby. To his dismay, both of the strays that had been followed him through Unova stood. Upon spotting him, they approached.
"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" Cilan asked.
"Oh, you know... training-"
"Wak-Maro."
He tapped the ground type with his foot in an attempt to shut him up. He didn't exactly want to pull them into this mess. Not only is it possibly dangerous but he's guessing that Victini is some sort of rare possibly mythical Pokémon and that will bring a lot more questions.
"And you skipped breakfast because?" Iris asked. "You don't even do that for gym battles... only situations with Plasma now I think about it."
Before he could answer, the bone keeper Pokémon picked up a leaflet from the centre wall. Walking back, he handed it over to the duo.
"Liberty garden-" Cilan mused. "Is this your plan for today?"
"Maro." He nodded.
"I thought you didn't want to go sight-seeing-" Iris teased.
"Marowak wanted to see it-" He lied. "We figured it'll be crowded so we'd get an early start and breakfast or something on route. Can we go now officer?"
"We certainly can!" Cilan beamed. "I always wanted to visit the flame of Victini!"
"Victini?" he asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.
"It's a shrine to the first genetically engineered Pokémon by the Manhattan project back in the Second World War," Cilan explained, "the statue of liberty had the interior flame redesigned for it to call home, but it disappeared from man-kind years ago. No one knows where it is now."
"I thought mister know it all would've known that-" Iris chimed in.
"Oh, I know the history but it's always interesting to hear the states revised version-" he replied. "I know they created a weapon of mass destruction, and they dropped it on civilians... then three days later you did it again. What I didn't know was you gave that weapon sentience. A conscious."
"We had to-"
"It's always justified when it's your own actions, always some excuse-" He closed his eyes. "What I'm struggling with is how you justify forcing that burden onto another being... how you could bring a life into this world with a horrible purpose and expect it to stick around? If I were Victini, I'd run off too-"
The conversation fell silent as the made their way closer to dock. A lump formed in his throat as he thought about Victini more and his history.
Drake stood on his boat as it shot across the water. Fresh air blew through his hair as he looked up at the statue. It was of a human women in robes, holding a flame up over her head. Easily stood at one hundred meters off the ground, just eye-balling it and truly was a sight to behold. It reminded him of visiting the sprout tower in Violet city or Eckruteak tin tower... something about it just grabbed and demanded attention and aspiration.
"It was first proposed by a Kalosian man in the mid-nineteenth century, built with a copper metal and moulded by some fire types!" He heard the host explain to the nearby crowd. "It's been up-kept since then and stood as a symbol of our countries ideal... liberty. After the second world war, an extension was added into the torch to represent the first genetically engineered Pokémon, Victini, who helped us secure victory during that war but hasn't been seen since."
"How could ya let it just disappear?" one man asked.
"It never submitted itself to a Pokéball and there was a fear amongst the team who created it," she replied, "any battle might've forced another detonation."
"What happened after-" a child asked, who sat on a man's shoulders... likely her dad.
"It was in the aftermath of the war that the PLA, or Pokémon league association was formed-" She smiled. "It linked up several regions with strict rules around Pokémon and trade. The most successful peace project in the worlds history. Of course, it was through this same process that regional leagues were built."
He drowned out the explanation as he continued to study the statue. It was common knowledge that the leagues were originally a way for countries to create a surplus of strong Pokémon for fighting. Turning it into a sport, competition, helped promote trainers of interest as well as develop Pokémon for industrial use which has seen a massive revolution and launched several civilisations into a new world. Some regions like Johto, while apart of the PLA, have hung on to their cultural history. Being a part of the losing side in the war meant they we're kind of forced into signing the PLA accordance.
It didn't take long for the boat to dock, and he climbed off. While the host led a group around, he didn't even pretend to follow them and took off around. The island was pretty small with only the statue and a museum to the north of the island. Barriers were set around the base so no-one could go up to it, but you could stand pretty much anywhere and see the giant monolith. Walking around the back of the statue, he felt a tingle in his head.
"Hiya!" The voice from his dream echoed in his head. "I'm glad you could make it! It's nice to have visitors!"
"I-" He shook his head. "Where are you?"
"Here!" The Pokémon floated down from the sky. Just like in his dream, although in was slightly smaller in real life. "Now we can't stay. Someone might see."
Before he could answer, a wave of ESP surrounded his body. With a rush, he went flying up with Marowak shortly behind. He felt sick as the ground moved further and further away. He squeezed his eyes shut as he flew into a wooden door, but the psychic field opened calmly, and he landed softly on his feet.
The doors clicked shut as he took in the sight of the room. It wasn't particularly big, and it was circular in motion with an orange tint sparkling over the black walls. A fiery red rug covered the floor with a rocking chair in the corner and a small table beside it with a lamp on top. Different photos of the fire psychic type inside some sort of laboratory. A red circular bed with pillows and yellow blanket in the other side of the room.
"First things first, the reason you came... or one of them anyway-" Victini's eyes glew and an object flew out. His eyes widened at the sight of the object. A golden and silver Pokémon he last saw in his brother's hands. "Oh good, you know it. So, I don't need to do the whole info guide."
"H-how is the GS ball here?!" He gasped. "It was in Johto... Ilex forest..."
"It belongs to a time traveller, figure it out-" Victini rolled his eyes. "Your gonna need it later."
"What for?!" he asked.
"I dunno-" He shrugged. "I'm just meant to pass it on. I can't actually see what's going to happen. I'm a bomb not clairvoyant."
"Great-" He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Maro?" his ground type grumbled.
"So, what do you wanna play?" Victini asked. "Checkers? Blackjack? Go Basculin? Oooh, I know! Charades!"
"Play?" he asked.
"Yeah!" Victini beamed. "It's been decades since I last had visitors! It can get lonely."
"You have hundreds of visitors to this island every day." Marowak countered.
"Yeah... but-" He sighed. "I can't play with any of them... if any of them knew I was here-"
"This is literally a shrine built for you-" He blinked. "I-I don't think this is the best hiding place... for you, specifically."
"It's like the best hiding place..." Victini replied, "like a piece of hay in a hay stack."
"The expression is needle in a hay stack-"
"That's stupid!" Victini declared. "A needle would stick out in a hay stack. No! If you wanna hide a needle, throw it into another box of needles."
"I-" He paused. Letting the argument sink in. "You actually make a good point. Never thought of it that way."
"Of course!" Victini beamed. "Now come on! Come on! I wanna to show you something!"
Before he could respond, the tingle of psychic energy surrounding his body dragged him through the air. His voice stuck in his throat as he flew back into the outside world. His eyes widened as he went flying off the edge and squeezed his eyes shut.
The rushing wind made him feel sick as he slowed down. Landing on his feet, he wobbled backwards as the psychic support fade.
"Fuck sake-" he uttered. Holding onto the wall as he stopped himself from falling over.
"Drake!" Iris' voice echoed in his head. Opening his eyes, he found the two companions running towards him. "Where did you go!"
"More friends!" Victini announced swooping in between them. "Hiya!"
"Yo-your-" Cilan gasped. "Your Victini?!"
"Am I?!" Victini gasped in mimicked? "Since when?! I could've sworn I was Pidove this morning!"
"I-I didn't think-" Iris stuttered. "I didn't think Victini would be so-"
"Be so what?" Victini asked. "Handsome. Cute. Fluffy? I like being fluffy."
"Childish-"
"Guess you've met someone on your wave length." Drake grumbled.
"Of course, I'm childish!" Victini announced with pride. "What's the point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes."
"He makes a good point." Drake shrugged. "And yeah... it's like I thought with the whole revisionist version of events."
"Not everything is some sort of conspiracy-" Cilan sighed. "I can understand why your hesitant, Drake, but we had to limit the lives lost."
"By maximising the toll on the other side?" Victini asked. "I was there... I was literally there and the power source of the devastation. Take it from me, nothing that happened in those days was justified... if I could've stopped it, gone back in time to refuse... I would without hesitation."
You could've heard a pin drop after his deepest truth was revealed. The tension of his actions pushed down like gravity pressuring them.
"But enough about that!" Victini's chirpy tone returned. "Come on! You've gotta see this!"
Following the psychic fire type, who swirled through the air like some sort of dance. He noticed a single ship docked on the far side of the island. It was entirely made out of wood, giving it a timely feel. Large posts stood to hold a sail but one wasn't up yet.
As they reached the edge of the water, Victini used psychic and picked up the group. With a rush, they were lifted onto the deck.
"Can we-"
"Shush!" Victini hushed, placing a finger on his lips. "Let's use our in-ship voices."
"Or we can use our thoughts through this ESP connection." Drake sighed.
"Are we even allowed to be on this ship?" Cilan asked. "Whose's is it anyway? Why are we here?"
"No... but you need to be-" Victini counted on one claw. "You'll find out. And it's linked to the gift I gave Drake."
"Gift?" Iris asked. He pulled out the GS ball for her to see. "What's so important about a funny coloured Pokéball?"
"Nothing good-" he uttered, slipping it back into his pocket.
"Erm, Drake!" Marowak's voice echoed. "I just figured out whose ship this is."
Turning on a heel, he ran over to the ground type. He was half way up the stairs to the ships wheel. A window in the wooden wall. Taking a seat on the steps, he looked inside, and his heart stopped.
Sitting around a large wooden table were six old men dressed in ceremonial robes of different colours. The first one to catch his attention was his opponent back in the Dream yard. The only other one was Ghetsis who pushed his seat out and stood up. An interactive screen lowering behind him.
Acting quickly, he remembered the previous encounter and pulled out his Poké-gear. Setting up a record feature and holding it to the window.
"Gorm..." Ghetsis started. "We are in short supply of the dream mist. We're going to need a high amount for after Nimbasa. It'll be our chance to capture one of the largest cities populace. Seeing how Rico mistreats Pokémon in Nimbasa will be an opportunity we can't miss."
"Of course, my king-" he bowed. "And my apologies once more for the delay before."
"It allowed us valuable insight into the child threatening the boy's role-" Ghetsis dismissed. "Now Zinzolin, how's recruitment going?"
"Latest survey suggests we've got Opelucid and Umbrella on a majority for separation." The man in purple robes answered. "I sent the squad through to Driftveil and will be joining them once done here. It's the last gym city around the main circle other than Nimbasa where we lack influence."
"Very good-" He nodded. "Ryoku, speaking of Nimbasa. How are the preparations coming along?"
"Rico has evaluated the layout and planned the assault," the man in green robes explained, "according to Rood, N is currently in visiting the desert resort."
"I don't understand why Rood isn't here-" The man in red robes grumbled.
"Because his loyalty lies with the boy, Bronius." Ghetsis hissed. "I can't risk him being unable to allow the assault but without the pain of losing Zorua, he'll never fulfil his destiny and awaken the dragon of truth... and all our work will be for nothing. Speaking off, Giallo, how's the search for the dragon stone?"
"We've found the ancient ceremonial ground within the dragon spiral towers," the man in yellow robes explained, "looking through the historic records, we believe that the treasure fell into the waters beneath them. We've prepared a diving squad to begin the search."
"Very good-" Ghetsis nodded. "Soon our plans will be in motion. After Nimbasa, we'll be on the home stretch and once the boy has awoken Reshiram, we'll make history. Using the legend of truth to see the separation of people and Pokémon. Starting in Unova, we'll work across the states... once we're the only one's left with these weapons, taking the region by force will be a cake walk... and we can reinstate the monarchy they once tried to escape!"
"My king!" The other five echoed together, standing up.
"Hey!" He turned to see a grunt standing atop of the stairs. "Sound the alarm!"
Marowak threw his bone and knocked the boy over... but it was too late. A loud fog horn boomed over the ship with a thunder of footsteps following it.
Jumping up and grabbing his bone on the rebound, he rolled forward and stopped on one knee at the top of the stairs. Looking over both sides of the ship, he noticed the army of grunts in grey chainmail armor running out. A door swung open and the men in robes exited out onto the top part of the deck, each holding a Pokéball in hand. Standing up once more, he tightened the bone in his hand and prepared for their attack.
A side glance saw both Cilan and Iris releasing their teams to start holding off the grunts. Who used an array of Patrat and Purrloin from what he saw.
His attention was drawn forward by a flash of light. He saw an ekans-like Pokémon with long tentacle-like, finned limb extending from the head. A pair of red eyes, sat on either side of the slim head, yellow spots surrounded them, and other patches scattered over the body including red and yellow palms. The body was primarily dark blue, and it had clawed, paddle-like arms. Floating in the air, the slim body flowed like in some sort body of water.
A ball of condensed electricity formed in front of the gaping mouth. Shooting out, he saw it flying over towards his trainer.
Lifting his bone up, it redirected the electric attack. Crashing into his body, he smirked as he harmlessly fizzled out. Spinning the bone in his hand, he took up an offensive stance. Several other Pokémon formed around the serpent Pokémon, one of which being the multicoloured bird from the dream yard.
Not casting them a second glance, he charged off towards them. Knowing the rest of Drake's team can handle them, he'll take on the probable electric type.
Planting his bone in the wooden floor, he used it as a pole vault. Flying through the air, he fizzled with ground type energy which radiated off him.
"Dodge it, Eelektross!" The man in green ordered.
Unable to adjust his own path due to the lack of wings, he watched the opponent float higher, and he sailed underneath.
Two arms grabbed onto his body and slammed him down. Landing on his back, he saw the serpentine Pokémon with fangs foaming in dark type energy.
Rolling to the side, he narrowly avoided the electric type. Ending up on his knees in a crawling position, the opponent looked up and charged. Spinning as he stood up, the slippery Pokémon skimmed past him. Grabbing onto his tail, his feet skidding across the floor as he leaned back.
Using all his strength, he tensed up. Turning his body in motion, he began to spin as the electric type stuck out in front of him.
Squeezing his eyes shut as he felt the wind rush past, to lower the level of dizziness. It eventually became too much, and he let go.
Stumbling to the side from the released pressure, he looked out to see the opponent. Sailing through the air, Eelektross managed to bring itself back up.
Entering a run, he skidding over the floor and picked up his bone. He saw fangs foaming in dark energy moments away from chomping down on him.
Swinging the bone to the side, it whacked into his head. Knocking the head to the side, the tail came around and struck his stomach.
Rolling back over the boat, he smashed into the wooden post on the edge. Looking up he saw the serpentine Pokémon with dragon energy foaming in the mouth. Quickly standing up, he climbed onto the edge of rail of the boats edge. Luckily, he was on the side facing Liberty island.
Feeling the intense heat and wind as the dragon pulse erupted behind. He jumped, using the explosion to push himself further off and ensure he landed.
Once on the island, he inwardly smirked. Burying his bone tip into the ground, he closed his eyes. A rush of ground energy filled his body.
A loud crash drew his attention, and he opened his eyes. He pierced the deck of the ship with a large pillar of earth which extended up into the sky near his opponent. Picking up his bone, he took off up his newly made ramp. Filled with far more options for moves now he wasn't stuck one wood and water.
As he ran, he noticed several other battles taking place over the boat. Although he didn't waste much time in
"Drown that rodent and stop it from sinking my ship!" A voice commanded but he couldn't identify who.
As he ran to the top of the pillar, he noticed the blue serpentine hurling up a thick purple acid attack. A strong smell caused him to cringe as he realised it was a gastro acid. Landing on the tip of his pillar it began to dissolve through the rock, but it took time, and he smirked as an idea filled his head.
Jumping up, he spin the bone in his hand. Landing at the edge of the acid puddle, he channelled his element through him.
Jumping over the puddle, he landed on the other side and broke the tip off. As he fell back down onto the boat, his rock breaking more of the deck, he looked up and saw the purple acid, having been flung through the air, covering his opponent. Eelektross instantly began to fall towards the deck.
Stomping his foot onto the boulder, a smaller rock popped up. Using his bone like a baseball bat, he whacked it up and struck the falling Pokémon.
Repeating this a few more times, it forced his opponent further away and he crashed down into the pool. Sighing in relief, he turned to see-
A jet of water erupted and shot the opponent back up onto the deck. Landing in front of him, soaking wet with narrowed eyes.
Tightening the bone in his hand, he stretched one leg out behind. Crouching low as he waited for the serpentine to strike, it hissed and slivered to the side.
Snapping forward, he spun out of the way as he flew past. Bringing his bone around, it struck the back and knocked Eelektross onto the ground. Jumping up into the air, he channelled ground type energy through his body. Performing a small jump, he landed down on the serpentine Pokémon's body.
Delivering a massive earthquake through to the opponent, the floor cracked, and they went flying down into the bottom level of the skip. Cancelling out his move and entering a dive-roll to limit the impact. Stopping on one knee, he looked back to see his opponent lying flat on his stomach. Standing up he picked up his bone and turned towards a staircase heading back up to the deck.
Cranking his neck to the sides, he entered a jog and started to ascend. It was nice being able to battle without pulling his punches... whose next?
Drake's hand clutched onto his Pokéball as he saw Iris and Cilan release their team to tackle the army of grunts. Turning on a heel he ran up to the top of the deck. Marowak was already running up to one of the Pokémon, so he didn't give it much thought, instead focusing on the other issues facing him.
The Sigilyph from the dream yard floated beside a giant ice-flake Pokémon which had a hexagon shaped body with numerous details.
"Yamask and Kingdra!" He shouted, tossing both devices in the air. "Psychic and help him get in shots! Kingdra your job is to make the battle wide spread!"
His ghost type's eyes glew blue and surrounded the sea-dragon with ESP. Both Pokémon floated up to meet the two floating opponents.
Powerful elemental beams blew out of Kingdra's snot, piercing and blowing back the opponent with pin point accuracy. The four Pokémon moved further out over the ocean, and he used the opportunity to pull out his Pokédex:
Cryogonal, the Crystalizing Pokémon. With its icy chains, Cryogonal freezes those it encounters. It then takes its victims away to somewhere unknown. They are composed of ice crystals. They capture prey with chains of ice, freezing the prey with minus-one-hundred-and-forty-eight-degrees fahrenheit
A thud down on the ground caused him to stumble back. Landing on his butt, he found a mainly red-fur, squatting primeape-like Pokémon with long, bushy flaming eyebrows that curled at the base, and around the black-ringed eyes. The upper portion of the tanned face was separated from the lower portion by a diagonal red stripe, and its large mouth sported spiked teeth. Every aspect of his face looked like an expression of anger.
"Machamp!" He snatched the device off his belt and threw it. His fighting type materialised and instantly caught the flying fist from the Pokémon.
Throwing him back, his superpower Pokémon crouched and jumped. Tackling the clear fire type further as he took in the rest of his appearance.
Its head had no discernible neck to distinguish from the rest of the body and rounded back, which culminates in a stubby tail. Its long arms had spiky hair fringes on the wrists and large tan hands, with a similar arrangement for the hind limbs. He stood back up and used his dex once more:
Darmanitan, the Blazing Pokémon. The final evolved form of Darumaka. Unovan variant. The thick arms of this Pokémon can deliver punches capable of obliterating a dump truck. This Pokémon's power rises along with the temperature of its internal fire, maximising at two-thousand-five-hundred fahrenheit
His fighting types front two arms blocked the incoming fire punches as his back two reached down. Knocking the fiery opponent of balance & gaining ground.
Lifting up his opponent by both hands, he kicked forward and flung him to the wooden rail. Entering a crouch, he tackled into the blazing Pokémon.
Clutching his front two arms onto the opponent, he used his back arms to pull himself over the rail. Both Pokémon went flying and a splash followed.
Inwardly smirking, he knew his fighting type was quite adapt at water combat. After seeing Ash's Snorlax back in the orange islands, he decided having a few more Pokémon capable of water would be use. Since he's clearly a fire type, he couldn't say the same for his opponent.
Turning around he saw a large rock pillar piercing the boats deck. His trusted ground type running up towards that blue-floating-ekans with limbs.
"Drown that rodent and stop it from sinking my ship!" Ghetsis growled.
Turning on a heel, he found the old man with a couple other, but he recognized the smokers voice. Taking off on his own, he clenched his fist back. One of the other men move in the way but he caught him off balance and ducked underneath knocking him off to the side. Tackling the arsehole onto the floor.
"You! Touch! Any of! My Pokémon!" He amplified each word with a punch to the face. "And I! Will drag you! Down to hell! Myself!"
Hands grabbed his shoulders and pulled him back. Landing on his behind, his breathing was ragged as the red-robed man stood in front of him. Looking down to his hand, he found blood spattered over his knuckles. His fingers trembled as he looked back to see Ghetsis standing up. His blood face included a busted lip and possibly broken nose. He saw the other old man's lips move but he heard nothing... couldn't even attempt at reading them.
In a flash of light, he released a giant mushroom-like Pokémon. It had a hugh, gray, stem-like body; fierce-looking eyes; a tiny mouth with large pink lips; and two arms. It had large caps on the head and arms which resembled Pokémon's. With a hurl from the mouth, a blob of poison sludge shot out towards him.
Scuttering backwards, he barely avoided the toxic bomb. His mind went to poison type, and he snatched the device off his belt.
Holding it out in front of himself, it burst open, and his mysterious Pokémon materialised. Spraying out a blast of water, it deflected the toxic attack.
Jumping forward, it entered a spin. Knocking into the opponents body, knocked it back and created several meters distance between them.
Green balls of energy flew out of his water psychic type as they crashed into the rail. He brought up his Pokédex to scan the opponent:
Amoonguss, the Mushroom Pokémon. The final evolved form of Foongus. Amoonguss generally doesn't move as much. It tends to stand still near Poké Balls that have been dropped on the ground. They show off their Poké Ball caps to lure prey, but very this fools few Pokémon
"Shit!" He thought to himself as he read the typing. He knew he shouldn't have lost his focus; it only leads to mistakes being made. Shaking his head, he watched water psychic type and knew they had to do something. "Get hight and use camouflage!"
His mysterious Pokémon spun once more and picked up some height. The body of the purple star became transparent before a light tint of flying type energy flashed. In a more free flight rapid-spin, Starmie shot down and smashed into the opponent once more.
"Little brat-" Ghetsis scoffed, drawing his attention. He saw two of the men helping their leader up, giving him the metal cane.
"If you're trying to compensate for something-" He called out, gesturing to the tool stabling his stance. "You can do a lot better."
"We'll teach you some manners-" Ghetsis hissed, revealing his own Pokéball.
In a flash of light, a three-headed, draconic Pokémon with six thin, black wings that each end in two points on the back. The body was primarily dark blue, with black fur covering the neck and shoulders. The inner fur surrounding its head was fuchsia in colour, and resembled collars. Hydreigon head had black eyes; the main head additionally had fuchsia pupils and visible pointed teeth, while the secondary heads eyes were nothing more than slits which couldn't even blink. The abdomen had two fuchsia stripes and its feet appeared atrophied, having no claws or defined soles. Their tail also sported a fuchsia stripe with a black tuft. A menacing grin spread over the main face, revealing razor sharp teeth as it floated closer like a predator ready to pounce.
He held his own device out and his starter landed in front of them with a mighty roar. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't concerned by the intimidating's Pokémon, but he also knew he had his individual strongest Pokémon to face it. As both draconic Pokémon took off, he used his dex once more:
Hydreigon, the Brutal Pokémon. The final evolved form of Deino. It's said that Hydreigon grew ferocious because people in times long past loathed it, considering it to be evil incarnate and attacking it relentlessly. Only the central head has a brain. It is very intelligent, but it thinks only of destruction
Putting the device down, he watched his starter partaking in an aerial combat against the draconic opponent. Starmie continued to fly around the mostly still mushroom opponent, using psychic techniques to properly fight their opponent.
Both Machamp and Marowak were nowhere to be seen but the Kingdra-Yamask combo were still flying around. He knew at this point it was anyone's game.
Rufflet shook his body as he materialised on the cold metal floor. Glancing around, he noticed Shelmet beside him and an old human stood behind them.
"Hello there... it's very nice to meet-" Seeing his hand reach out, he jumped up and jabbed his beak into the man's hand. Seeing him jerk back in a stumble, he landed on his feet. Turning on a heel, he shot out through the nearby door.
Flying through, he smacked into the wooden wall and bounced back onto his behind. Shaking his head, he jumped back to his feet and noticed a staircase heading downward. Feeling a rush of excitement, he walked to the far wall opposite them. He took off in a run, jumping from the ledge!
He began frantically flapping his wings... he was flying... towards the floor.
Squeezing his eyes shut, he braced for impact, but it was softer than expected. Looking up, he found himself lying on something squishy... and purple.
"Cuddle!"
Squirming off his landing pad, he found it happened to be some sort of sludge Pokémon. Not being one for cuddles, he quickly turned and found a door opened out into the outside. Kicking off, he quickly ran out into the wide open. He saw some sort of large flower Pokémon to the side but couldn't care enough to stop. Running out into the open, he felt the warmer sun on his feathers and skin.
Running over the grassy field, he jumped up and flapped his wings... landing back, he stumbled but continued in his stride.
Trying once more, a gust of wind flew under his feathers and his stomach shot down. Gaining height as he quickly moved into the air.
A large brown Pokémon appeared underneath and with massive wings. Losing the tailwind, he glided down onto their back.
Watching as they soared over the ranch, he tried to take in the view. Fields of green covered the centre ground with numerous different species of Pokémon scattered all over. Over to the west side of the ranch was a rocky grumbled area where different species were battling.
A couple of rivers filled the eastern side, most filled with a lot of aquatic species. In the sky, he saw some sort of fiery lizard with wings fighting a dinosaur & other flying species dotted around. With a large forest over the back boarder with only what he could assume were other bug types... speaking of, where did Shelmet go?
