Hey everyone!

Hope lockdown is going OK for you. It's actually proving to be productive for me and I'm managing to get ahead on my fics now. I do need to sort my ongoing fic folder out as its chaos but other than that it's going well. Hope you're enjoying this story and I'm planning to get the new version of Love Changes Everything up in May.

Stay safe, stay home.

Lots of love,

Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 68:

Lucius headed home once Aurora was settled but Narcissa was staying until her little girl was back and settled in the mainstream school. She was far more protective of Aurora now after she'd almost lost her again to her sister. She wasn't going to leave Aurora a moment too soon and she had even neglected Lucius for it as well. Lucius, of course, understood and he'd wait for the day when Narcissa would arrive home.

Finally the evening arrived when the Floo sounded and Narcissa appeared in the fireplace. Rushing over to her Lucius wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to him.

"Is this it now?" he asked, "are you home?"

"Yes I am my love," Narcissa spoke softly as she placed a kiss on his cheek, "can I have a drink first?"

"You need bed more than anything," Lucius said as he looked at his wife but Narcissa shook her head before heading to the parlour and flopping down into a chair near the fire that was glowing.

Lucius smiled as he watched her before enlarging the chair and pulling her close to him as an elf brought them some wine.

"Didn't have you down as a wine drinker."

"Well it's easier for now so I can stay with you and not have to move all the time," Lucius said softly, "plus we haven't really had time to breathe and process everything. Now we can do just that," he added as he placed a kiss on her head, wrapping an arm around her, sipping on his wine.

Narcissa just sighed as she thought. She knew he was right and yet she didn't want to think about that.

"It's been a whirlwind for months hasn't it?" she sighed as she knew someone would have to speak, "did I know Aurora was our lost daughter that day at King's Cross? No I didn't. All I know is that something drew me to her and now we know that it is this strange connection between us."

"That's also how you knew that she was still alive. Somewhere dormant… the connection was still active," Lucius said softly as he watched the flames flickering, "that is why you felt so strongly when I said that she could be dead. You somehow knew that she was alive."

Narcissa processed his words and knew somehow that he was right. She'd always had the hope that Aurora was still alive and the connection was the reason why, that and her hope that she was still alive. It was rather odd but now they knew the reason why.

"Having her back was the best Christmas present I could have hoped for," Narcissa admitted, "never did I dream that Aurora was our Aurora. It seemed to be impossible to think that she'd come home to us."

"It didn't sink in with me for quite a few days but she's home and our parents adore her. Your father in particular dotes on her, my mother as well for whatever reason," Lucius said, "your mother will in time but I think Aurora is slightly scared of her because of what happened when they first met," he sighed as he paused to have another sip of wine.

"We should have told them about her before they arrived and met her. I mean it is rather a shock they had as well. Draco seems to be the only one who isn't affected by having his sister back at all," Lucius mused, "almost like he'd accepted her as his sister already."

Narcissa allowed a little chuckle to escape her lips and she sighed.

"There has been some sort of progress with Aurora in catching up with her peers and Charlotte, but I don't know how we can see for sure how much progress has been made," she said. After all she probably knew Aurora better than anyone else but even she couldn't tell for sure.

"What about a test? It wouldn't have to be a hard test but something that she can do to see the progress," Lucius suggested as he looked down at her, "it can be a little harder than the one she done and then you will be able to see how much she's come on or what she still struggles with."

"That's not a bad idea really," Narcissa said as she looked at him, her mind instantly beginning to think of an idea for a test that she could do for their daughter, "I mean I can access the previous test to see what was asked and make a slightly harder test for her but I will also need to speak to Dumbledore as I am meant to be the Assistant Healer at Hogwarts as well," she said as she looked up at Lucius.

"Yes. We will have to discuss a plan with Dumbledore and that may mean that we have to be separated but I could always come to Hogwarts and you can come home when you get a chance," Lucius said as he looked at his wife, "we will have to make it work somehow," he said as he watched her before sighing softly.

"Life really has changed for us since we found her hasn't it?" Narcissa said softly as she curled her legs underneath her and snuggled into Lucius and relaxed, "she's back but now we have to cope with what has happened to our little girl. She's suffered so much and now I feel that we have to do so much more to help her."

"Cissa she will get to be like her peers but it will be a long and bumpy road. We cannot force her into things or do things that she doesn't understand. That will push her away from us and that is the last thing we really need. She needs to be close to us," Lucius said as he watched what Narcissa was doing.

"I know Luc but she's our precious little girl and how she need all the help she can get," Narcissa said as she looked at her husband, "she's 11 and knows very little about the world she lives in… the world she was born into," she said.

"We will help her to understand who she is and what her life should have been like and we will help her in any way that we can," Lucius said before sighing as Narcissa had fallen asleep. He lifted her into his arms and carried her up to bed, thankful that she would be getting a good night's sleep at last.
