Hey everyone!

Well we've made it to July and hasn't 2020 been crazy so far? I wonder what the second half of the year has in store for us. I should also be starting back at work after nearly 4 months off but I should be OK for updates as I managed to get ahead. I have also updated my profile to reflect the changes and listed all my facelaims so you can have a look at them.

Stay safe, lots of love,

LM xxxx

Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 73:

Dear Father.

Quidditch training went well and Aurora learnt some things thanks for Astoria explaining things. Anyway this is just a quick note to say that after training Pansy tried to stop Aurora from speaking when she said 'I am a Malfoy and a Black so you should listen to me.' Just thought you'd want to know.

All my love to you and mother, Aurora's too… although she doesn't know I'm sending this.

Draco.

Lucius read the short letter over and over again, a smirk on his face. Aurora clearly knew that her surname had power and she appeared to be unafraid to let people know that she was from two Noble Sacred 28 families. Did Aurora even understand that? He would have to check with Narcissa when he saw that at Hogwarts later that day. He was worried that they were about to make the same mistake they had with Draco.

"We have to try and get her to understand where she is from but it doesn't mean that people will listen to her," Narcissa said after reading the letter, "she doesn't even understand the Sacred 28."

"Then we shall just have to try and explain it to her but I do not want to make the same mistakes we made with Draco," Lucius said as he stood in the Hospital Wing next to Narcissa as she was waiting on someone being brought up from a corridor incident.

"After dinner I'll get Severus to bring her to our room and then we can try and explain it to her. I think I'll want her here tonight with us so I will ask him to bring her bedclothes as well so she can stay with us," Narcissa said and Lucius nodded before she kissed him quickly and hurried to look at the student who had just been brought in.

Later that day after dinner Snape walked the floors up to where Lucius and Narcissa were staying and knocked on the door and Lucius answered.

"Daddy!" Aurora said as she saw Lucius before Narcissa walked over to her and brought her inside the room and then Lucius soon joined them and saw that Narcissa had their daughter already sat on her lap.

"Am I in trouble" Aurora asked as she'd rarely been called to her parent's room since the new arrangement had come into place.

"No but it's good that you know that you are a Malfoy and a Black but that doesn't always mean that people will listen to us little love," Narcissa said, "Aurora have you heard of the Sacred 28?"

"Why won't people listen to us? What's that?" Aurora asked as she looked at Narcissa.

"Well mummy and daddy's family come from very important families. Families that have been Purebloods for centuries. Mummy has lost two family members because they went against beliefs. My sister Andromeda and my cousin Sirius," she said before looking at Lucius.

"There are 28 families and they are some of the oldest Wizarding Families in Britain. Both the Blacks and Malfoys are on that list and the Malfoys as well as your grandmothers have French roots within them," Lucius said, "are you with me so far?"

"Mummy's family and yours are from a long line of Purebloods and some are French," Aurora said as she tried to repeat a summery of what had just been said. Narcissa smiled and stroked her daughter's hair softly.

"That's right but that doesn't give us permission to say what we want, when we want my little love," she said, "we can still get into trouble and have to get out of it," she added as she looked at her and sighed, "we may be powerful and ancient but we cannot think we are above the law."

"Draco has pushed the line a few times but we don't want you to grow up the same way that Draco did," Lucius said, "we spoilt Draco rather and that makes him rather… difficult at times."

"But he's been nothing but nice to me…" Aurora said as she looked at Lucius.

"You are family therefore he would be nice to you but if anyone tries to smear our name," Lucius said.

"Like Pansy did at the Quidditch training. She said something and Draco didn't like it so he pulled his wand out on her but didn't use it," Aurora said as she remembered and then the parents looked at each other before looking at Aurora.

"Don't you ever do that Aurora. You do not pull your wand on anyone unless they mean to harm you in which case then you do just enough to get away," Narcissa told her daughter before she sighed softly, "but there may always be consequences for your actions no matter how rich and powerful you are, or your parents."

"Because nobody is above the law," Aurora said, "I am from two long lines of Purebloods that have French roots and we are part of something that has 28 families like us in it and we are more powerful than most. Is that right?" she asked as she looked at her father, hoping that she had understood at least something.

"That is correct little love," Lucius said softly as he stroked his daughter's cheek, "I think we'll leave it there as it's getting late. Mummy will get you ready for bed and you can sleep here in your bed with us tonight," he said before leaving Narcissa to get their daughter ready for bed and into bed.

It wasn't long after that that Lucius and Narcissa were laid in bed, Narcissa in Lucius' arms and she looked over at their sleeping daughter.

"I think she understood some of it but not others. I think that she will need to know more in future but she knows the basic for now. I shall have to talk to her about Andromeda and Sirius eventually but she's still just a baby really and she needs to understand what our family really was… what you were," Narcissa said, "we've kept the Dark Mark hidden but she needs to hear from us first," she said before Lucius nodded.

"Fine but another day," he said and watched as she fell asleep and he watched his wife and daughter sleep before he fell asleep too, holding his wife tightly in his arms.
