Hey everyone!

Welcome back to updates! Work is fully back now and I'm surviving. Planning to get some writing done now I appear to be back into some sort of routine. Just happy I managed to get on with writing whilst full lockdown was on. Hope you enjoy these updates and thank you so much for reading my work.

Stay safe!

Lots of love,

Finally Belonging Somewhere-Part 76:

Lucius and Narcissa had headed back to Hogwarts. Narcissa had been at home for the night and now the two were back at Hogwarts and heading to Severus' office to talk to him about Aurora's birthday party. She was his godfather and they wanted him to be there.

"So you're planning a surprise party for her? A fairy, unicorn, pink and gold princess party…" Severus said as he looked at his friend, "don't you think that it could be a little too much for her considering how overwhelmed she can get at times?"

"We are fully prepared for that and have a plan in place so she doesn't get overwhelmed," Lucius said, "we have begun to think about that because we want Aurora to be able to enjoy her day and not see it as one big thing but lots of little things," he added, "she's missed out on so many birthdays and we need to show her that she is special and loved still. This day matters to everyone Severus and we just want her special day to be perfect for her."

Severus remained silent as he processed the words that were being said. He could see why they wanted to do it and he had to trust their judgement on it all because they were Aurora's parents.

"I trust you both but I do worry that it could be bad for her. I also know that you would have given this a lot of thought and planned things in a way that shouldn't overwhelm her," he said, "I'm guessing this is a surprise party as well…"

"Yes that is correct so we will have to figure out how to keep it a secret when we get her home on the Friday evening beforehand as a lot of it will be near enough set up," Narcissa said, "but that's not really going to be a problem considering the rooms she normally is in are at the front of the Manor. It will be dark as well so that will help."

"What should I get her? I have no idea what to get her really," Severus said as he looked at the couple, "I mean is there anything that she needs? I will get her whatever she needs."

"Well she's getting these figurines in a treasure hunt so maybe a book so she can write things about them. She has a good imagination and could write stories with the figurines in it," Lucius said, "it would be nice for her to have a book to write her stories in."

"Princess themed notebook and quill? I can do that," Severus said as he looked at Lucius and Narcissa, "it can have a padlock as well so she can choose whether to share her stories or not," he said, "she needs her own space to write and be free to write what she wants."

"We suspect the imagination comes from being alone in the main at the orphanage and she created stories to keep herself amused. We did find scraps of stories and some you can barely read. Her writing was so bad," Narcissa said as she looked at Severus.

"Well it's improving now. I can see the progress she's made with everything," Severus replied before Lucius said that they would go and find the girls.

"Now remember not a word to Aurora. We want this to be a surprise for her," Lucius said.

"You have my word," Severus said before watching as the couple left the office and he used his wand to close the door behind them.

"Hello mummy," Aurora said as she looked up from her book and saw Narcissa and then Lucius following behind her, "what are you doing here?" she asked.

"We had to come and speak to Severus… Professor Snape about something and then found out that you and Charlotte were by the Lake so we thought we'd come and see you before your father goes home," Narcissa said softly as she tucked some of Aurora's golden waves behind her ear.

"I hope it was nothing bad," Aurora said before Narcissa chucked.

"No my little love. It was nothing bad at all. It was just something that we needed to speak to him about," she reassured her daughter before Lucius sat down beside her.

"Good afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy," Charlotte said as she joined the three Malfoys, "it's lovely to see you again," she said sitting down as well.

"Lovely to see you again as well Charlotte. I trust school is going well," Lucius asked his daughter's friend.

"Yes it is rather thank you sir," Charlotte replied, "now things have settled down it's easier and less stressful," she said before smiling softly at Aurora.

"I am really glad to hear that," Narcissa said, "we hoped that things would be calmer now."

"Well I gave Natalie and Chloe a chance to earn my forgiveness but they also appear to be keeping their distance as well so I guess they're thinking how they can earn my forgiveness," Aurora said as she looked her mother.

"Aurora please be careful. I don't want those girls going back to harming you the way they did," Narcissa said as she looked at her daughter.

"And that is why I said they'd have to earn my trust," Aurora said, "I'm not about to forgive them easily for what they did to me. That was wrong and they shouldn't have done that so I will make sure they really earn it if they would like to at all," she said.

Narcissa was certainly proud in that moment at how far Aurora had come and the fact that her child wasn't going to forgive easily. She would secretly love to see Chloe and Natalie literally begging for forgiveness but she also knew that this was something that Aurora needed to figure out on her own. She would, however, be there for Aurora if she needed any advice.

Lucius remained with them but eventually he returned to the Manor and Narcissa headed inside with the girls and then to the Great Hall for dinner. She kept an eye on Chloe and Natalie and couldn't wait to see how they were going to try and earn her daughter's forgiveness. She smirked as it would be good for Aurora and maybe Natalie and Chloe would realise that underestimating a Malfoy was one of the worst things anyone could do.
